unfortunately I have to resign from the library board due to a recent change in work commitments I enjoyed my time and will continue to support the programs please let me know if you need a more okay thank you you set me off there for okay so approval of the minutes from November all in can we do it all in favor all in favor yes yes anyone against okay so the minutes were approved from November okay we are now at library update okay so I know you're probably not going to believe me but the windows are starting to go in Wednesday y I won the bet just going back I said Christmas so I was very close to Christmas the idea is because we have Story Time Wednesday morning they're going to start on the west side of the building we did tell the group today to you know it could be chilly right or you weren't there it was D it was there yeah Donna uh shared with them that you know it will happen but you know it could have an open window it might be a little chilly bring your hats and we're still do it want to down here is it possible to meet down here I we can if it's not you know we still have the MS do we still have the yoga mats here we do but with the numbers that we we have and I just thought they they wouldn't have to sit on the floor yeah I think we could because the chances are um they might not be actually at the point where they're pulling out the window if they and they they then we can definitely come down but those mats um we don't have oh so they did move okay yeah so um but we can use chairs if we have to and come down here that's Wednesday or whatever yeah Wednesday looks like it's it's going to be to really it's if it's um if it's doable they love it up there we'll try we'll move down if we have to um okay so I'm going to go through yes just want to watch the Heat when when they got the windows open because if the the boiler starts just screaming on a full cycle it might be better just to dog it off and let it get a little chilly until they seal it back up instead of running the boiler on a continuous cycle and if it's blowing out the window great especially with that situation there I I have another company coming to anal because the company that did this here when we had the problem said you could have another problem so I'll do that for sure tell us about that problemer later yeah probably number two yeah so uh but uh okay so the next thing is I just going to go through the calendar it's really really pretty much the same I just want to make sure you agree with it just going to go real quick so we will be closed on Martin Luther King Day on President's Day those two weekends we were open for Saturday and Sunday I just want to make sure you're good with that to continue that there's only a couple weekends when we close the whole week we um to be closed on Parade day is that could we do that because we've had problems with covering on Parade day we have a float on yeah we have a float so are you okay with everyone okay with that okay because that was difficult for us um as this year we had Good Friday off and obviously Easter off and since we're open on Sunday you know we Clos on that Saturday too so that whole weekend we closed uh down and again that's that's the 18th 20th I'm sorry um April that's April yeah and then we've always been closed for Memorial Day which is the 24th to the 26 course and June we're all open we usually have July Fourth if it's in the middle of the week just that day and then we're open on the weekend but this is a uh connected to the weekend so I said last year if it's ever connected we would have the whole weekend you okay with that so the fourth is a Friday so it would be 456 that will be closed um Labor Day weekend which is the 30 the 30th to 31st and the 1 this year is Labor Day so it's early very early summer crew likes that right when it's when it's done 30 31 and 1 is the Labor Day weekend um Columbus Day that's that's a holiday for the town we've always been closed on that but we're open for the you know for the weekend um that wild for teachers November we've always been closed that whole weekend for Thanksgiving which is Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday so that's 30th 2 that's the 27th to the 30th correct and this year we we closed early on the 23rd we talked I don't think we need to do that um unless you want to but uh for December the 24th and 25th just being closed and we could be open until 7:00 on the 23rd I don't know why we decided th it's Tuesday Wednesday Thursday so this is the 24th is Christmas Eve we've always been closed that day and then the 20 5th but this year for some reason we closed early but we don't have to do that we can stay open till 7 stay open stay open stay open okay got it are you okay with on the 31st that we close it two though is that okay instead of seven yeah and then that's it okay so it's pretty much the same yeah that's um it's pretty much the same the only addition is the weekend of July for adding the five hours um for the 23rd of December okay all right figured that would be okay double check with you um meetings I had talked to a few board members we had nine this year um we had talked before about having less meetings it's it's up to you the way I look at it and again it's just from coming from the school district um you know we had a $13 million budget with 100 staff members and the town is very similar to uh with so many staff members there's not many things that by law you have to vote on with a library compared to a town or a uh School District um some libraries have it every other month the problem is I I um I know how you like not having meetings during the summer but really by law you're not supposed to miss two months in a row with a public meeting I mean I'm sure there's no Library police if you wanted to do that but uh just a thought you know I've seen some smaller libraries they go January March May July September November um or if that's too much of a going from 9 to six or keep it the same um just my my thoughts we could always have a meeting if we needed needed one and we could keep it the same time if it was the in between month it only costs $20 to post you need to have it I think it's 48 Hours you know before um we could send out an email it's up to you I just want to ask a question mayor I don't know if you would know uh by ordinance are we required to have a certain you know certain amount of meetings because I know like I'm I'm going back like related to the fire department you know we have to have certain I don't know if we're required I just don't want to uh go against the ordinance I don't think so I don't think an ordinance I think it would be yeah I'm not supposed to have two miss two which is not a big deal you know just that's the only thing I could find and I check with the State Library um it could we just meet at the seafood F that solves the problem if we advertise it you got for any time form any time any place as long as we have time that's right 4 48 Hours yeah and if it's an emergency and there's a reason for it you don't same so I think one of I'm sorry no go ahead I think one of the uh things that were positive this year was not having the one in December December was just such a crazy month I just think because Thanksgiving and Christmas seems so close together there's so much to get done with per worse this year right yeah so I I almost think that we just don't have December right so I think December should maybe be not on our calendar just because of all the I mean it's it's just crazy so um that knocks it down to eight no it's no it's nine nine that's right because yes because we knocked it out last year so it was nine last year so it was nine this year yeah right I mean we're a sure Community it's like to meet in the summer is like hard it's hard like I said Seafood Festival you know I'll meet you there meet you down at the Pavilion you but um I don't know what can we go around and just get some input from some thoughts that people have as to either reducing I think I think that's a very good idea I I would approve would we go like maybe how many meetings a year six six every other month I think that's I'm in favor of that 100% and like you said if there an emery sit situation comes up we can all be notified email we would keep the same same time the second the second Monday second Monday 6 o' that doesn't run into any of the dates that you mentioned right you're closed I mean I wanted to see what you wanted first and I what do we have this year we this year we had n Year good night so Fe February 10th would be our next one I think the the summer meeting we should go like on the T and have like a meeting anybody want go on the ti meeting on the ti I love that is there anything that I don't see declare a retreat yeah I'm pretty sure the community needs a space down you just have to open up the meeting uh and then you can get just wait before we get on the boat anybody wants to join us can join us it sounds like a plan I mean that's team building and absolutely Mor lot and there's our summer meeting we don't miss and we don't miss two meetings long we don't mind being filmed over there oh I don't know I don't go on boats coun council meeting just got what day is the parade is it March 2nd March okay just so the the only conflict would be the October 13th but that would we wouldn't have that meeting if you chose to go every other month but if we chose to do October it would be the 20th everything else is the second Monday we're good go over what months we would meet that so it's j it's January March May July July October no se September sept thank you yes so I have it written that one second September November be good if I could skip months January March May July September November is it November that would be it yeah which is what we did this year we did November we have that's one but still it would still be the first the second we could we could we could if you didn't want to do the July we could do in April or in October I mean September October or you do we could do may you can do in April May and well yeah can't miss yeah I can't miss two June July the whole of doing it yeah I think we we should probably should do that but okay so it would be January 13th March 10th May 12th July 14th September 8th and November 10th that's the six so is there anyone against that is anyone and again we can Sharon and I can communicate two weeks in advance of the meeting and say okay is there anything you think we need to meet on and then we can I can put it into the paper you know if something's going I just thought of something kind of ties in what mayor mentioned but July could technically be a virtual that's I thought I mean for fun we could have the meeting and have it on the do or I could have some an Uber pick us up [Music] I do think we I I would like for us to go out after one meeting yeah and it would be I know the summer is busy and stuff but it is easier to go out there in the summer right so F right the fast I'll drink to that and if there's something that needs to be voted on that done in like we can yes so for example if something came up with the some type of change to something we're doing with the facility is the big thing that we say we have to meet this month we have to vote on this because there's some type of change something that it costs money more money or something that and we have it in our bylaws that we can do a virtual okay that came about after Co sorry okay anything else is that good oh yes I do I'm sorry I have a couple other things yeah I think we should vote on I make that motion no he can't I can't do that okay I'll I'll make a motion that uh meetings for 2025 be January March May July September November uh on those dates and uh if it's necessary for another meeting we will be notified and so I'll put that in the form of a motion on second second probably should change hit it okay it's okay you're new yeah Daniel yes okay Bruce yes jar yes Darlene yes Maria you have my support for my joh yes yes yes you have to call on me next time but it's so much fun just see what I say you're not asleep he may be leing there there's two other things but if if you want they will need um resolutions do you want me to hold on that I probably maybe should have held on that from new business um for a vote but if if you're okay with it I can go through the two other things and are you okay okay it's your it's your call so the the two papers that we have is the co- star and the Asberry Park Press to me the Asbury Park Press doesn't make sense for us to post our meetings there I don't know how you feel but um I don't think there's many people that see it there there we did do it and tapped into before but there was a question on how much that cost for like a yearly charge the idea that I would like to propose instead of having tapped into is like a paper that we use for advertising just use it for the legal issues for for our meetings actually which uh right now the co-star charge is like 20 bucks I'm I'm guessing tapped into will be a similar we tried to find out what it would cost but um we didn't hear back yet but as long as it's it's reasonable I um the only thing is when you have a online paper that has to be approved by the board in a resolution so you're allowed to do that we have the co-star and tapped into it just has to be approved that you are approving an online paper as our public notice to me with our uh social media and everything I think think you really don't need it anymore but it still says in wall two papers so I'm asking if the board would be okay with it's so much easier to deal the um Asberry par press has a larger paper it's more difficult and coar people see ta into is everybody okay with that so you don't have to say that it's tapped into you just we just need a resolution saying to use a electronic uh newspaper so if someone could do that okay okay so I'll make a motion that we um exclude or no longer use AP but move towards using just the co-star and an online electronic online paper for the year 2025 call again any discussion um do we have to identify whether or not we are using as Park Press we Havey we don't actually we could we could just say that we're we are using that we will use one traditional paper and one I would I would I would uh water down the resolution to that wording just to maximize a flexibility instead of specifically saying amended to include one traditional paper and one electronic one as print one traditional okay's the media there go thank you degree okay a second second all right Umi yes yes yes yes Maria yes I support the May Kar yes Johna yes yes because so the last thing we need a resolution for is the money that we're rotating into Reserve last year we our resolution said that the maximum allowed by uh by law um I would because of our strategic plan um I would recommend that we do that again with the idea of our goal to in the future have the opportunity to build an addition um but again that's just my opinion right now if you look at the the budget I know go over that in a minute but we we spent approximately 560,000 is that what you have there what do you have uh remember yeah for spend to date yeah I have just spent 2024 yeah it might it might increase a little bit um you know sometimes we get late bills but approximately right now I have 570 yeah five um okay yeah 570 191 49 so 570 so you know that would be approximately over a little bit over $100,000 with the 20% um but what I would recommend is to just say that we moveed to reserves the maximum allow by Statute or by law which is a little bit over $100,000 so that we need a resolution I have to get that to Lorraine we do that every January meeting um we did not spend what do you have there 300 and or two um we have the balance of our budget is 294 294 321 yeah yeah so but that that is all you can't roll over all the money yeah you can only roll over 20% of what is spent that was not capital and we spend much in capital this year because we used the 200,000 from the previous budget so we had the windows yeah we only used for the for the chimney for uh for Capital actually some other things it wasn't much that's really were a lot of that money so is are windows actually going over two years the windows the windows took the money out the last year's budget and add of Reserve um because remember we had 200 in there it was about 230 so we used 30 out of reserves and we used 200 from last year's budget um so um after the windows are done at the next meeting you know I'd like to um talk to everybody about you know our goals for the I'm going to get places for you over the next like five weeks and then have options for you at the next meeting that time March 10th yes yes so um and we could develop a committee for a facilities committee that could work on that if you'd like to do that I I would like that idea because I think that I think that would help us get a lot of a lot of traction on it just to keep it more present yeah so we just uh I don't know if you want to send out an email and ask who would be interested and then it's your decision who's on it and I would hope Mike will be on it because it is oh Mike will be on it that's not a question it's not an Ask damn engineering degree exactly I should have wore my clown belt buckle instead of so uh we just need we need a resolution what we're doing and I don't know we always kind of talk to the mayor what because it's to do with the Town Council and stuff what what you think you know what the law okay okay all right David with regard to the finances over the last two years um I was under the impression that we were returning more to the town to for tax offsets last year but that actually got encumbered for the windows was that was that how it all sh out or yeah so what I thought was that if you saw in the budget I misunderstood Lorraine I thought the money was going to come out of this year's budget that's where we had $200,000 she said that because it was at last year's budget that the money had to come out of last year's which actually benefits us um because we actually you know have we actually had more money going into reserves and we're more money this year going into reserves so so it's about um about 200 right so if let's just say round up it's about $ 200,000 approximately going back to the town and aund approximately 100 um towards the reserves for this year for this year correct yeah but last year giving less I I was we gave less yeah we gave less I thought we were pushing the windows to this year and providing more the town last year but what really happened was we kept the windows on last year did not provide as much back to the to the general fund and we're more or less making up for that this year this year correct yes so what we had last year we're we're more or less pushing forward to the general fund offset the tax plan this year correct yes we just need to I don't know if you want to have a discussion on this or uming out the yeah legally reses if if you can't do more then do what you can legally do I don't think we're going be in a position to flow to bond for Capital Improvements in the future so I think it's prudent to to take what ass what resources we have now $250,000 for Windows you know I think putting the money aside now is the is the rational financial decision as opposed to borrowing later come debt later y okay so we just need someone to do a resolution a resolution to set aside the maximum permitted by law for Capital reserves second since it's a resolution I guess it's yeah and any discussion after a second any discussion no okay okay Danielle yes Roose yes car yes darene yes yes yes yes Mike yes unanimous great um Deb you ready I just was 5 minutes very quick um I just wanted to um tell everyone about you probably know about the um Early Childhood advisory Council over at the school are you aware no well Belmore Elementary has a an early childhood advisory Council Alexandra Flores is running it and uh what they want to do is they want to partner with us awesome yeah and we had a meeting with last week where they came up with a theme the theme is going to be kindergarten ready and so we're working on coming up with something we a program maybe we could run over the summer with kids who are going into kindergarten in September um I Lucy Payne our new uh bilingual associate came to the meeting as well she's going to be on the council as well so I we had a very a very good meeting where we just around different things that we could do but what I was happy about was they have a plan and they know what their theme is going to be so it's going to be much easier for us to actually get something done that way um they have I think four meetings set up the next one is the end of this month and uh we plan to meet with parents Lucy will be there as well so that she can speak to um the Spanish parents the Spanish speaking parents I always felt that every time I go up to the school they always have a translator for me but this I think is much better to have Lucy actually speak as the face of the library to the Spanish speaking people so I think it's going to be a good collaboration and I'll keep you posted on where the plans turn out to be so that's that's I think something that we can look forward to and hopefully it'll work out can I can I ask a quick question um the young lady that we had that went to college yes she might may she be available maybe in the summer it's funny because she texts me every now and then how she's doing and I was thinking the same thing so uh I will reach out to her and see if she's going to be around if she wants to participate because I think that would be nice yeah that would be great yeah last name uh pain p a y n e okay and the other thing do want me to bring this up now okay so um this kind of C we should have this regardless but because we did have a minor issue we decided that maybe it was something we should do and that is have an official policy for children in the library particularly children that are unattended in the library so um I had found Susan and I were going through cleaning out file cabinets and we found an old draft of a document that never had gotten anywhere so I kind of used that as a starting point and we drafted this document that I want everyone to I mean we don't have to finalize anything on this for uh tonight but if you could all look at it and then maybe at the next meeting yeah now we did talk email cop sure so uh yeah because is it becoming an issue well let's just say yes and no it's an issue that came up it's not something that's a frequent problem or you know but it's we need to address it to avoid any issues down the road yeah I know there's been times where a child has been here longer than anticipated and no one has picked that child up and then it becomes an issue of what you know the child is left here on their own um ex we need to we need to have the ability to contact someone know who the parent is phone number address something like that so this is what we came up with and so DAV this was in the files I don't think it was ever approved by the not the actual one that was in the files but simar just kind of an old piece of paper stuffed in and no one ever acted on it we added like you know making sure we had the name you know and the parents but really it's very similar to what was in the files um I think what's what I would suggest is that you take a look at it it's a sensitive issue and we we love having the kids here but we've had some challenges so you know does some of this need to be softened up does it do you like it um I think what would be best is to read read it think about it and then we can um talk about it at the next meeting um instead of but that's that's up to you you like that idea is my concern is since our next meeting is until March we're talking about two months we really are okay we haven't had any serious issues we had right it's just that the potential right is there and so and I'd like this in Spanish also yes oh yeah okay okay y but we've been um you know I know a lot of the parents from the school so I can call them myself talk and and so it really hasn't been a problem but it could be if if we're you know if we have a child that has you know if we have behavioral when I first came here we had some challenge remember we had some challenging kids yeah but we haven't had that right I mean Deb do you remember since you've been here so it was really just the first few months right when I was here um since that time we it's been even the kids are great with what they're going on too the websites and stuff right now but it could be yeah kids are fine it's it isn't even uh hasn't even been a behavioral issue really it's just for those unaccompanied kids that are very young sometimes you could change the ages this is just what was G what was in the file I um I'm curious is there like a I wrote down time limit for the unattended so like how long child left at the library unended this is Babys right so maybe you want to write that you know add that in writing like a child cannot be left unattended for more than two hours or just three hours well the thing is if a child comes you know most of of our kids come straight from school right right and they come in and they'll do their homework they'll go on the computers and they have this never Behavior problem and then they go home on occasion we have a child one or two who come after school young and they're told to remain here until their parent comes to pick them on babies so that's the issue that concerns what do we do if a parent doesn't show up at the right time what do we do if a if a child is having some kind of difficulty or issue and there's no parents so it's really the younger ones that are more of the concern um but putting the policy together really has to address all the children now you're saying they have to be picked up 30 minutes prior to closing so you're saying a child a young child can be left here from 3:15 to 6 o' from 3:15 to 6:30 that would be the latest the library so this is the time that they have to leave and the other and only because to make sure that they get here in time for closing long time and when you think about it since bmer elementary does offer after care it seems like this has become after care right right now just I know this happened last year I came late one afternoon and I think it was around 600 or 6:30 and we were calling a child's parent and the parents said oh just send them home the kid was like six or seven and I I I knew not to drive them but I walked that child to their house because it was late right and I was just like that's also a liability I know I know but I was like I'm not let I couldn't sleep thinking that kid was walking home by themselves the other problem is too is sometimes they the one situation we had is they actually the child left the building was playing outside came back and so we just called the parent and said they can't you know leave the building they have to stay here and the problem is I I just said that you have to understand that that our library assistants are working with other people people and so um sometimes it's could you please talk to your son or daughter um and say they have to stay in because you know we can't be responsible for watching yeah so if there's young child sitting you know whatever reading books whatever it is and then you you're busy you don't realize next thing you know they're outside that's a scary book and I went out one day to to you know she was playing outside by the you know but the parents think she's sitting in the library so that's what we're because I came in and said why is this backpack here child was outside and I'm like yeah so are you okay with that take a look at it I think it's until that time we will be very yeah you could careful and next one you can make any changes if you want anything eded and then finalize local wiers to see what their policy is I know of them are I know NEP I've seen neptun very tough yeah and that I spoke to John they did they were having they were having problem we're not yeah that's not the issue I I think almost that needs to be at like the beginning of the letter saying this is not due to behavior problems it's a safety well that's what I try to prioritize yes right yes thanks jar thank you to much interesting than this yeah that's it that's it for me thank you so you all right thank you all right since our last meeting we had uh a number of events the big one was the reptiles live animal event with 158 attendance and that was uh uh very well attended people loved it you know Lefty the owl was a hit so which was great um and we've had a couple of auor times since then uh one had six attendees which wasn't bad for all the time the other one uh with Dylan Flynn unfortunately there were no attendees I think part of that that was it it was too late in the year I think the uh having auor times this late in the year in December is probably not a good idea we mentioned before how busy and so going forward I'm not going to be doing any more a like events in December December going to be limited to the m to two main events uh which is um the holiday concert which is this year we have Mr Ray we have 57 attendees there and then we had uh the family movie night uh had 30 uh attendees including parents okay which was pretty well attended and that went off pretty well having the two short films with a little intermission in between worked out very good uh they were able to work out their restlessness in between and enjoy the second film without too much troubl it was really good that went very well uh we have two major upcoming events between now and our next meeting uh this Saturday is the living history with Dr Martin Luan King as of now as of this morning we have 14 people registered for that event that's going to be here at the library uh if in the event that grows any more than 25 uh I will move it to Taylor pilia I already have the place booked for it just in case okay um the really big share real quick so Louis and I talked about with our events with that that we're going to do that we want people here but if it ever gets too large Lis will book that and John said he was okay with that and so we have it there if it gets too big so that's something that we're doing in the future but we want have as many events as we can here to get people here so okay so the next big thing is Chinese New Year which is next Thursday um we have as of now one of 177 people registered do now the planning was for about 200 people so that's how much food I've arranged for that's how much we have maximal seating capacity so as a result given the factor that there's going to be an addition to the 177 register assuming they all show up there's going to be a lot of us staff uh and probably some other uh people who have not directly registered to attend such as the mayor and other council members may be there plus the dancers so to ensure that we have enough uh as of today through talking with Dave and other staff members we've shut off registration for Chinese New Year as of now uh people cannot register to attend um so uh this year also uh uh the new new year is going to the Chinese New Year event is going to be um uh is going to we're going to open doors early at five o'clock so so registered people can come in get their food get their seats and uh the kids can go to the craft tables enjoy that before we start to show at five at six o' uh we have a 45 minute uh show performance dance performance from the New Jersey uh philarmonic chorus uh and that is a an all Chinese uh organization that do that does uh all sorts of performances in Chinese dance culture so we're looking forward to a really good one I've seen videos of them in action and uh I'm looking forward to a good show this is different than last year different than last year last year they are not bad okay so um so we're looking good there now with that Chinese New Year real quick someone's going to be at the door to I'm about to cover that I'm going to cover that in a moment okay in fact in fact I'll um I just want to highlight uh before I go on to that issue I just want to highlight as you see here we also have our living history hisory series of events planned out we have John Adams and Thomas Jefferson as a 20 coming together uh they're going to be debating the Constitution and that's going to be a tale of I'm looking forward to Big A turnout for that Amelia aart first lady of the Skies on Saturday March 15th followed by Lewis and Clark leadership in the course of Discovery and March 29th General us Grant and Grant in Civil War railroads will be Saturday April 9 and and we'll be closing out the series on June 28th um the part of juneth um so Jour or Truth uh performed by the same actress who did um um Harry Harry tubin last year if you didn't see her last year you have to see her this year she is unbelievable she is amazing so so she's performing a sojourn of Truth uh a former uh a freed slave woman who going on to be an active um uh campaigner for women's rights and women's voting rights and her performance will be called ain't ey a Woman based on the famous speech this evening do we have times on these all dates are 11:00 a.m. okay okay very good now for the living history series uh as well as Chinese New Year Chinese New Year will be the is the the first major event in which we are utilizing our new QR coded e ticket program okay I have attached in the back a sample of a QR coded e ticket that people are getting now these QR Code E tickets are set up so that when people register they will get their e tickets emailed to them right away okay they register the event the program I have will create their QR code and they will take this template that I've created for this put it onto here and send them a PDF uh copy of that TR by email okay so this way they get their tickets immediately all right so uh e tickets will be used at major events uh such as the cultural events the living history series we'll be using them on that live animal series because we did have a little bit of an issue on the Wolves last year where we did exce 200 people there okay didn't have enough seats and uh there was a there was a lot of um there was there was some discussion discussion about oh I registered or I didn't this and that and stuff so what this whole program is designed to do is to minimize these issues of pre-registered or or whether they get a seat or not so you get an Eat ticket you are guaranteed priority seating and priority food food service access when you come in if uh you are a Walkin you don't register you may be welcome to attend assuming there's space but uh and enjoy the show but there's seaing and food is not guaranteed okay and so if I could just say how we're going to do that so as they as they walk in the front door I'm going to be the the bad guy and say I'm sorry if you didn't register please stand over here so as you you walk in Taylor Pavilion towards the tickets people will have to stand over there and kind of wait and see what our numbers are um if it's someone who needs seating or have chairs you know for seniors there be able to sit down and and wait um we've had a lot of complaints with people saying I registered and I didn't get a seat you know um for a couple situ it's usually not the food it's the the seaing um we have about when you have 20 tables and eight at each table you know it's 160 it it's it's tight um so the 200 it's going to be tight um if everyone my guess is usually we're going to have maybe 50 maybe up to 50 people that maybe don't show I don't know like it's always different sometimes we have 50% of the people show up sometimes we have 75 sometimes per um but we're trying to take care of you know what the patrons have said to us is if we register and they've said some of them said we're you know Belmont residents shouldn't we get preference um and so we're going to try to take care it's going to be a challenge you're going to hear some complaints so hopefully it will support us because um they're not going to be happy because they've been able to just walk in before we're going to have people that are just going to say um I'm a res shouldn't have to register you know and I tried to explain to them for us for the seating to order the food we need you to do that and that's you know this is going to be a challenging event to be honest with you and ultimately we'll train they'll be trained to in the future okay I missed out this time next time I'll definely can I mention two things then and possibly Maria can maybe help with the senior building a lot of them I know do not use electron M so they won't have the ability to do this so if by chance we could have someone go there and actually help register them we took an iPad or something like that and registered whoever might be interested in coming at least they'd be registered okay I've seen I've seen L registered two people already and just and just so you know uh we will have we will have people I I did not note age or social demographics I did not that they were being assisted with registration for the event CU they were unsure is there a way that they can call that's what I mean because I'll be honest even the BHA meetings that they you know that that are monthly meetings we don't have a great resident turnout for those um so it is difficult to find a uh the right time to get the residents to register but I we could have a flyer that says well yeah if if someone needs to call to register because they don't they do to computer online yeah they can call the library uh the links are easily found on our website so staff members could just click through pull it up and take their registration okay uh so that's that's easy enough some of the other locations I was thinking of where seniors usually go to I don't know if we still have the senior luncheons but there's usually a pretty good turnout for the senior well but bar used to Bar used to run that so he doesn't do that anymore so I'd mentioned the senior building and then yeah so we don't have the Lun in anymore Flyers to hang in like the senior building with the QR code but also say if need assistance please call this phone number yeah we can we can add that verbage to that yeah we we can just me with I'll talk to the L and I will talk I did announce it at the at the meeting and I do announce that if you have to register for it online but you you're absolutely right there's probably a few people if they heard that would say well message you have to register online I think Mage register register if you need help contact the library if you need help yeah and we we did that with strategic planning and we filled out for us and just so you know if someone comes without you know the E ticket or the actual printed out ticket we have a list of the people that signed up so Susan will be going over and just okay Mr M okay yes go ahead in you know so the E ticket is designed so that he can either be it can either be pulled up on their phone uh or they can just print it out now on the receiving and they walk in we have a smartphone assigned to the library that has the app for scanning this in that will be able to literally scan oop oop oop oop automatically there's no need to hit enter or anything phone huh you have a backup device in case there's a glitch a backup a backup we have the list oh the well we have the list well if if for some reason the phone is not working it's not scanned we can we'll have we'll have printed copies of theist go old school but for the most part what it does it should be able to scan you what happens is it it generates a list of who checked in and assign and attaches that list to the same spreadsheet well we should say we had kind of a practice run we used it for Mr Ray yeah which wasn't as big as this so it was easier to kind of manage but it worked yeah it worked it worked wonderfully so uh so now uh we got the program and uh it gives us a capacity to actually manage multiple events simultaneously so it doesn't matter how many register so like for example all the living history program series all of them have e tickets uh set up for them so as people register them they'll get e tickets for those as well and then we'll use them also for the live animal series events and any other special events and all the cultural events we won't need to use these for the concert series uh that's um I don't think it's necessary those those are no I can't imagine trying to you're already there with a clicker anyway no G out no hot dog for you so um so yeah will we have I'm sorry to interrupt I just want to get these so I don't forget them will registration be indicated closed if say for instance you've hit your max yes and we've already closed it today I've already sent the MK email I Facebook posted it out I sent an update to the co-star for their upcoming article on it including this and the website is now fully marked as registration quotes Okay and then um do we have signs posted at Taylor Pavilion for upcoming ones I just think okay yeah you have it you see it over there but it's um it's iix yeah that's yeah we will have a sign over there for that exactly they gave us the wrong it says7 so um like I said we won't be using for summer concerts uh attendees will either display printed copy or smartphone screen quickly easy scanning uh it guarantees a priority seating and Food Service availability and um Walkins they show up they don't TI guess what good luck if you have a seat great if not oh well you know and same thing with food whatever is left over there something food for them all the all the better um and so um yeah and that's pretty much it that's what that's what uh the E tiet program does it's going to pretty much allow us for better planning and for easier uh tracking of uh people coming in we'll have a better way to analyze afterwards what the attendance are and uh things like that so uh that's uh pretty much what every EVS are we allowed to have more than the one phone um able to have that program so just imagine I know what it's like to having having well it's not trying to figure it out well well it's it's it's not one it's not a simple a single app each each uh uh e ticket that's that that uh that's created okay that each event has its own specific app so when I create like uh the E tickets for like say U Martin Luther King for example the app there's an individual app for that event only it's specific just to that and then U so we be i' be constantly downloading apps so right now the phone that I have here Library that's currently has what six or seven apps on it right now just just for each individual events right there so we have the one now I could download it like's say onto a um uh onto a second phone app a second phone if you wanted to act as a backup you put it on the myone yeah I can okay like another one because I'm going to be at the front door can I can I use my yeah but why would you want well actually no any the event something goes back want to well the line the line's going be moving pretty quick all you do just Bo boom boom that's it yeah it takes you it takes you 30 seconds to do it you only two people a minute it takes it takes two seconds to scan to scan it but how long does it take oh let me find it on my phone you just wait while I find it on oh oh oh here it is you're not going to move more than two people a minute I know we got we just have to uh I guess when you're out there just and maybe if you're you're scanning like fire to say him entering or vice versa we get the old fashion stamps where you stamp their names so you know that you know when you would used to go into the bar well get a little work simultaneously huh can't the two phones work simultaneously they good but you're just we're just going to have we we have the potential for confusing results in the sense that you'll have double scans possibility huh all be reporting back to the same each but you'll have it'll it'll record each individual scan that it gets so if he scan someone in line they walk in and that person sees say Susan there with the with the with the main thing scanning in if she scans it in she'll be there'll be a second wi so I mean it's it's just you just have to tweak it and and see what works best cuz 200 people that's that could be potentially a long line if it doesn't work as fast as we all hope it will I'm confident okay we we'll have a backup we'll have the backup I like the stamp idea it's so easy I remember we then we can't then we can't determine who actually show yeah noing metrics without without getting scanned was just talking in terms of you had two phones if that one person went to Lewis and then went to Dave Dave could say oh you've already got stamped you're you're already in I don't have to scan you I'm going to next person that's what I I don't think that's be I think I think it's okay I think two phones yeah and worst case scenario if the if it if it um we have a backup we're going to have three people with lists if we have to go with them just doing it on the list the key is we just want people to know you have to register the the the data that comes in if it's wrong it's not a big deal it's just we need people to know you need an e ticket and if you don't have an e tiet then you're going to have to wait you know for someone to check you on the list not getting your dumpling not getting your dumpling right no no Ticky no dumpling no fortune cookie great idea yeah for the Civil War one that's coming in April yes um someone mentioned to me just over the weekend that there's a location or there was a spot locally that the Civil War railroad went through I'm going to see if it's actually are we talking about I'm not talking about the Underground Railroad if that's what you're talking I was talking about the underground no this is not the no General General so this is just the regular railroads that were used the regular Hollow railroads played a role in moving troops and ammunition and supplies and making it the Union Army okay okay all right that's it for our report we're over an hour sorry Darlene okay so November's budget our budget amount was $864,900 79 leaving us a balance a budget of $327,500 that was November and December the budget amount again was $864,000 26 um waiting to pay the venders was 9,768 123 which left us a balance of the budget of $294,800 hoping that there's more than that this is truste hours in other words all you have to do is send me your name do I have to do I don't think she no because you're representing you're representing J and I don't think I don't think it's required it just said trustees in general it didn't say specifically as to that's right because it's not individually it's a as a group corre right you see what I it's not required by you we have to how seven hours so it's usually a few people getbody yeah please if you can get can you get it to me by the end of the week please because I do have to send it and it has to go into the state okay so I know there's a couple of people that have sent it if I haven't seen it frombody um I will pass around a couple of articles that I thought were interesting um if you want to take a snapshot this is links from the 2024 trustee Institute and then um I thought this was interesting this was from just a couple of days ago that New Jersey became the latest state to prohibit bands on books in schools and public libraries uh the governor signed that so um you can look at that one as well and then this was also from the New Jersey trustee uh Association it just tells you the virtual orientation some Q&A sessions and things like that just hit the site it's just really easy go through it you learn so much and uh I think it makes us better versed in what we're actually doing here so I wanted to make sure that that was being mentioned again so every year we have to have a minimum of seven hours in terms of that um some of the things that I thought you needed to know that the library was involved with um they collected um two of us collected um uh donations for two of the animal shelters in our area the ASPCA as well as the Humane Society in Titan Falls um I do have pictures on my phone I don't think you need to see them now but anyway it was a huge amount um we did it last year and um we did it again this year the deliveries took place a week ago um one person delivered to one location I delivered to the other location and leis put together a little blur as to um what was done through the library so the donations came in we separated them between the two shelters and they were both delivered and just you know that'll go up to more okay um let's see what else I wanted to suggest and I know I didn't bring this up to Dave but um I love that we have all of these things that we do throughout the year and I want us to continue that because it really I think gives so much to the the community one thing I thought would be interesting to see is like a year in review like last year what did we do last year I think it's a good promotion for you know look at what Belmore did in 2024 wait till you see what happens in 2025 so and it could be just a blur you know January February you know however you wanted to do it but I know we did a lot and I was trying to review a lot in my head and I was like I forgot this or that well we could in the past in the past we used to do a um an annual report that was not really for the state it was actual uh together something we for a community so maybe we could generate something out of that when you say you mean everything no I just to in terms of what do you mean I yeah I just thinklight of you were talking about these charitable you talk about I think just a combination doesn't have to be everything but just a combination like I'm sure a lot of people didn't know we did like the the watch collection you know and we did the dog collection and we had these like everyone knows that Chinese New Year everyone knows you know those one of the charitable things I think so because we're trying to remember Maria bringing that up that we needed to do social and Community things and I think these are good Community things that need to be promoted as just you know things that we've done in the past you know okay um even the point of having um over for the I know it was not part of the library but when we had the concert over at the Taylor Pavilion yeah with the kids that was just so well done that I know other groups have asked and I think theor building just said that they had another one that came after that so I think positive PR is always the best you know it gets people in and keeps everyone really really interested um and that's my report oh there's an open trustee position as I mentioned before Casey did have to uh resign from the position so we are now at8 voter voting I believe which is an even number um makes it a little difficult if you're having a vote you don't want to have a four and four you need to have a five and three you know and that's hard to get so um we can ask I guess the mayor is the one that appoints correct so what my thought would be if you have any ideas to tell you and then you talk to the mayor and then it's up to the mayor you post it publicly it's usually an appointed position yeah so the mayor would approach you have any yeah if you have any ideas we're going to meet with there so um you know share it with Sharon and Sharon will share it with Jerry and Jerry's I mean we can stay at eight it's just it makes it very difficult in terms of having a majority don't have a lot of to S excuse me only there's a pressing issue we almost had that problem back in when we had to get the Str iic plan all done and then someone wasn't present but we won't go there we won't go there they vote you vote anything around me I'll vot see what happens when you're not present voted in for things and all kinds of strange things but anyway so um do we have any old business I think we kind of covered some of the old already any new business knew I kind of did my if you don't mind i' do it that way unless you don't want to just because it's a nice flow it's just things that I'm talking about that I know that I have um a resident recently and this is something that commonly get asked of why we don't participate in the mammoth County um library system and you know I explained what a wonderful opportunity that we have as a Carnegie Library and the funding and what we're able to do with that and how it also helps the you know the the burrow itself um but I I was wondering um you know this person really you know wasn't looking for what does the burough get out of it was more looking for how do I get my best access to ebooks you know how do I get my best access to all of the resources um you know that I can get and um and I wanted to make sure that I'm giving her giving people who ask that exact question the response that the library would like to give it is there like a standard response and one of the the issues too is that when she did seek to see you know she could pay the $100 to County that that actually didn't include the ebooks which I was surprised to hear that I don't I'm not an ebook gal just yet um so I'm you know new to that I think that's a mistake I don't think that's true because I live in Lake home and I had to and I am entitled to a MMO County library right unless it's just I shouldn't speak maybe they're right maybe it's just for the people who have to pay I can find out for you but I'm not sure but the the main thing is it costs um it's a big cost to join and the advantage is not yeah that great I they get something like um uh free uh 10 free books a year you know bestseller books a year I mean it's not like an overwhelming advantage and um the ebook access which you can tell whoever asks uh is increasing at a rapid pace and uh they can be they can be accessed through that app I don't know if the person is familiar they are you so um yeah I the advantage to the libr in fact a lot of libraries who belonged got out right because they didn't feel that they were it was worth the expense of um if I could just say when I first started and I didn't understand how all this worked I went and met with each director from Belle to Bradley those that were connected and paid the money all of them said to me it's not worth the money um in terms of what what they're getting in fact there were libraries that were saying um if you want a library card we will pay for it for you to have you know the $100 said1 $100 some of the T that they because it's just the cost was so seagert got out of it um manisan is still in it but wants to get out of it but they have a different budget they don't have their budget isn't that's more of a nonprofit uh situation there um but there's a lot of I'll find out what the cost is but if we did that there's that would take up a large majority of our of our budget doesn't it also affect their Staffing isn't their Staffing yes that seriously affect their they would not be one of one of the things you could also say is that because we're independent we're able to cater our hours our programs our services and capabilities to the Belmar Community without interference from outside I mean put it simply we're the Belmar Public Library not someone else's Branch we're not the Belmar Branch it's someone else's Library that's basically what it is but I think going up and down the coast here I I couldn't not one Library said that they were happy with it with the the amount they have to pay and what they get um now if you have a lot of residents that that want to use it then okay but in terms of talking to the staff uh that's how they felt and they broke it you know and quite a few of them broke away from it um I think Spring Lake broke away I know seagar did um and I know uh probably shouldn't saying this but this is what the directors told me so um um but the one thing though that's strange with us is and it's something that we will have to talk about is you know Lake KO residents are able to get it and they're getting the cards for free here I think it's something we need to talk about it's a sticky subject but um you know they they have both and some Belmar residents are saying why does Lake KO have the ability so that was kind of happened because during Co we allowed you know and we just have never gone away from that the other thing is is that we really should consider um charging a yearly charge and not um $25 right because the cost for the ebooks now people that are paying $25 forever and being able to use our ebook subscription is it's we need to rethink that so we will come back with that um I just I brought it to you at the last meeting but we'll come back kind of um right now we're okay uh financially but with the things we need to do with facilities and with the increase with the ebook cost to a point where we have we have to make a change you can bring that up in March Yeah March we'll do okay what might be interesting to to go to Maria's thought would be maybe making a chart listing the amenities of Belmore versus versus m County it would be amazing would be so help just be easy to just say okay we have ho we've got you know whatever all of those things are and then it's it's just a a visual picture almost like a ven diagram I was looking to see if we had anything online or any of the other car libraries spelled it out in that way um just so I could give something that wasn't just so here's my opinion right right um we're great here's my opinion and de would you say you have both um the ability through us and through M County you're you're telling me you know a lot of times you look at the difference are there times where our patrons can get the books quicker than M County what you do is if you if you borrow through the mammoth County system and what I what I do is I'll toggle between them I can see what availability through Mammoth and what's the availability through e Library New Jersey like and I can see it and if I look at things that are you know the hottest newest ebook if it's a book that we purchase our patrons move up on the list so sometimes and I'm talking you talk the weights are going getting insane like I'll go on in 16 weeks 14 weeks and ours will be less I'm not saying tomorrow but it'll be a two week difference maybe a three- week difference depending so it's a kind of a um it's kind of a balancing act you know we have to make the purchases based on what we think is going to be the the ones that are in demand so that if people do go through Libby to get the ebooks through us they will get priority because we own the book as well and and don't you think as a smaller Library we're able to make decisions to benefit our patrons better because of purchasing books that that up quickly rather than system um you're not really buying your own books for your branch it's kind of a a countywide you know you can you can request and you can do it as a kind of a group thing but here we're totally independent in the sense that if someone comes in which happens every day and they say oh do you have and they'll give me a title and if I look it up and I say oh no we don't have it but we'll get it for you you know either we'll do it through the inter Library loan or we'll just buy the book if we know it's something that somebody wants or an ebook that's popular we'll put it in the cart and we'll buy it they're not doing that in that's never Happ Deb did that for one of the books that I wanted to read books came in Access for immediately like you don't have to go through like a purchase order TI well we do I mean it we do have to purchase it in regular order you if it's something that I can't get from Baker and T where we get our books we'll put it in the Amazon cart we'll buy it from Amazon that way so um I I can do that you know like I always come in and sometimes what we do is we keep a list we keep um a sheet on Google and if people call or come in whoever's working will put it on the sheet and um try to get so that kind of thing you're not going to get personalized thank you for the discussion I really do think that any kind of GRA even I mean it would be so nice to even be able to put that on the library website so people see what we have not not in you know being negative to to County but just showing this is what we have our little library has this you know and even even if for some reason they happen to have a little bit more or something the fact that we're close think that's even yeah the fact that they were even competitive and close to them is a big say in that your little library is just as good as not better than than County Library there's no need to change exctly you know and uh for the for the ebooks well for ebooks ebooks the MTH the wall Library you know in terms of the actual books you know we but do they also offer like the movies that we that you have access to like all those other little streaming services that we have do you know if they have those yeah they do have there canopies they have all of them too but the thing is the fact that we have it as well you see over the past I'd say 5 years or so especially since Co we've really upped our game in providing all these services and stuff like that so we've really kind of negated a lot of the potential Arguments for going to the county system I almost think that you need to point almost like a timeline from 2014 kind of to where we are 2025 it's I mean I've been here this entire time and I know you have too and you know many of us have and just to see what we where we were versus where we are M difference yeah yeah so we've transformed quite a bit over over the years graphic that's that's why I think a graphic will be just real easy to see the same thing that you had set up in a way with trying to remember where our terms were yeah same thing do we I can understand things who does like the social media I feel that I don't know her name isn't there somebody Laura Laur Laura can oh yeah absolutely she's great at designing these things she comes up with things that very catchy and and Def Bruce yeah oh Bruce you want the graphics on do you know that Bruce wrote a book Bruce who Bruce yeah it's very cute little book it's cute book that's awesome you have to see if you can get it at the school say can he be a guest reader at our school oh I don't know if would he actually read I don't he's kind of kind of a quiet guy but should see Across America sure that's coming up it's a it's aen son alen oh wow very cool just I was just a surprise I'm looking I'm looking at the books that were lined up on the Shelf as you walk in I went Bruce is that our Bruce I at I didn't know that was your Bruce sold I think 20 copies of his book at the last book fair at the children's book fair he did illustrations too right did the illustrations it's really cute it's got a great story line you know like about music about what kind of music a k it's really cool anything else anyone else I did think of one event if down the future again um tell us what that's my dream but um a wicked movie night long mov is it long it is don't get me wrong it's great it's great I haven't seen it yet but I know that's like now like not the tor's like fading out but well you know what wi is like the new you know how they have um with a lot of these movies the musicals where they do a uh well it is is the mus like a singalong you the songs as opposed to watching the whole movie you do like a wicked singalong yeah or yeah um but I think that's like I know kind of we like late on the Taylor Swift idea but I think if you do a wicked pink and green pink and green pink and green the new like I almost think you could break it up into to two and have like half of the movie right because the movie itself is we have to wait till next year to se of part movie it's not even this is only the First Act of the so I I love this idea I think you'd still get You' still get people do something where you can either paint your face green or you can do something you know the Green in the pinks or whatever you know I think that that it's a great idea has a lot of social to yeah oh yesk not to throw anything more on your play however I know we're trying to look for like events for like that that middle AG group that we're kind of missing and I think we call throw it on because you know um you know we've uh we we rearranged things so that there's more than just me and the we have a great team now me and Laura and the others out here that putting together a Patty as well where we're kind of putting planning ahead more aggressively on these events so you're going to see the events coming out more like books further in advance Alex we're already working on getting Christmas uh concert Lo locked down we have all the um the summer concerts are being locked down as we speak uh so on and then we'll be and all the series The live animal series will be all booked out things like that so all these little things the the the um uh the graphical presentations of the Flyers and stuff like that are now hugely improved they're not as as boxy as mine words much more graphically pretty so um I think we're going be an exciting year of new and improve events with new new features so looking forward to that so moving along with those dates you know where I'm going to ask for them to be posted it's very difficult it's he won't give us like one per month till the day I die it's going to be they make money from the different from the town from the businesses and the businesses don't like when there's things that are on there that are free and normally I go down tree lighting was on there I get it but but the other thing is I sit when I when we ask him to put something on I go down and I sit there and I see if it's on it takes forever it takes forever like I don't know if you ever sat there CLE I know the the cycle is a lot so if I was a business I'd understand that too like the more people that are on there the less times it's coming up but how much the cost to post on there 300 300 a month you see value in it then do you pay I I would like to know what the cycle is like each month I'm sure it changes absolutely Abol so the month of January only has let's just say six things that are cycling and then maybe February has 20 things that well then yeah you don't want to be in the it's not that he won't do it it's just that it depends on how how big have a second to read it unless you're stoo at that we are not ignoring you a visual reminder because even with the sign that we have out here there's one sign on one side and there's one A different sign on the other side and depending upon which way you're going on 10th you're reading one of the two signs and what are we usually able to to get like once every other month to get something once a month we I yeah usually that's our goal right one there's no guarantee for long for a week or two you know whatever but once a month is what we've asked for sets it all up okay that was my little thing okay I know where he lives all right anyone want to make a motion well actually comment the back com yes I have a question about the E ticket okay um when I buy a beach badge I use my phone and I do fill in my email but I don't need to go to my email it will pop up as a text message will the E tiet work like that it's so easy or do I have to go into an email uh as it stands now you have to go into your email because the program does not I I don't think it has set up to do uh to to text message that's a whole additional technological service that's attached to it okay that uh that I'm not sure if it's part of that this is strictly a computer it's easy for them to program it to create your e here's the email it to this person's email address and that's it okay so it comes into an email okay now um as far as texting goes um I know there are services that I can look into that we could probably send that way but that's an extra no I wouldn't want it to cost anything extra I was just asking yeah okay yeah for now it's just you have to go into the E okay and uh you know this time I never saw the petu drive I never saw it it was it was on the Facebook page right I I don't know I'm sorry I I'm on those pages every day never saw it Facebook we're at the mercy of Facebook's algorithm because what I've noticed is that you put out a post on Facebook there's no guarantee that that you'll see it because it's in your feed if you're not looking at the time it falls in your feed then you'll miss it completely it's it depends on how often I put it back out again that you might more likely that you'll see it do we ever pay for posts we don't because the Facebook doesn't take purchase order stuff like that you pay now there's a way around it I think I mentioned it to you where we could use your target marketing who's already our vendor who manages our website they can do it for us and they will just build us on the back end so we could do something like that but uh we haven't figured out you know the follow and amount that's something we like events that you're trying to get a bigger crowd the auth time exactly like obviously don't pay for Pat Rody because like something like the Mr Ray holiday show something that you're looking for like a little bit more of a bigger audience and this goes back to the pre-registration that I was mentioning before that a lot of people don't have email addresses so if you don't have an email address how do you pre-register well they can unless you unless you call they can call and in the event they don't have an email what we could do is we could print the E ticket for them and they can config it up and that kind of thing we do that can I announce that at a at a meeting um that if someone doesn't have an email address corre that we are we are fully capable to accommodate anyone who has limitations thank you we fully accommodating that any barrier to the process can be overcome by contacting the library exactly uh tomorrow evening 6 o'clock that that program is still on for yes tomorrow evening I neglect to mention this we do have a a new series of programs uh a monthly series uh Financial education okay tomorrow's uh event is uh 6 o'cl it's um uh program on identity identity okay and then we have two more events scheduled for him every month and then we'll be scheduling it throughout the rest of the year uh more events and this is a financial education for people uh who need to learn all the basics theft there'll be another one on uh how to plan out of getting out of debt uh how to there'll be um uh programs on financial planning for youngsters for for high schoolers so the how they can start planning head while they're uh in college and how they how to financially use money this way you know how to avoid being scammed uh but with those credit card scams that they hit College freshman before stuff like that and uh it's going to be a really good series you know Dave and I looked at the list of programs that it looked very very good so um we're going with three to start and assuming it goes well tomorrow once a month Ser once a month and then it'll be posted like outside it'll be posted out there and everything and we'll need to e ticket this thing that's one of the smaller programs I tickets right but um but that this is uh I think it's going to be a good interesting program to have and and as you know the Medicare Workshop program is still ongoing as well and just so you know Lewis is always here when it's happening so we make sure that someone is not pushing their business they can put their card over there they can refer to people but it's never at a point where they're here to make money and they're they're pressuring for their business it's there's my business card if you're interested and Lewis is here so you to make sure that's that's the case so that's kind of why we start with two or three workshops and we make sure there's not any you know pressure like that also no no you go uh we don't get again to March and then again in May but the cultural events for March like Irish that's being worked on correct as we speak and then may is de Mayo no no there will be Hispanic heritage September SE September so there is no Sy there'll be no Sy okay okay good give me a little break please absolutely that sounds like the perfect time for the wicked movie great there you go thank you by then they'll be getting ready to post for the second season be putting the trailer out probably but just just to backf a little bit on irisa right now um we're already arranging for we already have a date set for that okay um I don't have it on me right now but we have a date set up for that uh C tayor PR it's already booked and we will be announcing um the um registration for uh contestants for the soda bread contest doing two concerts I'm reaching out to get my four judges lined up by the way and uh we will also have the Dary School of Irish Dance Performing again as always now I'm debating whether we'll get the band uh again it's kind of hard to kind of weave in them because they're playing a little up front then the then the dancers and they're playing again afterwards a little bit it's kind of weird for the band so um we'll see if I get him again um but uh yeah we're pretty much uh well beginning plans on yeah for the culture good I'm sorry you're you're really not going to like me after this one but um have we ever participated in the New Jersey makers day yes we have when we had a makeer space we did have and it was actually a pretty good event okay we had we were in the community center over in 7th Avenue where your daughter down lives you know um and we had the makeer space upstairs we had some activities up there in the main gym area we had we had a Lego table and we had a we had a a a uh uh a button maker thing people love the button makers he even had like a comic book maker did we did have that so um well in case you're interested it's March 21st to the 23rd well the problem with that is we don't really have the we don't have really be like 3D it could be just like are you guys donate the school or no because it's on the weekend see so we don't sponsored by Library link so or is that it's called New Jersey library link one sponsors I know a lot of public libraries are the ones that do it because the schools are closed we have a lot of the stuff that we would have used is no longer available you know so we don't really have the setup to do a good Mak I mean I suppose we can put something together but it would be really kind of like it it'd be like a souped up craft day really that's all and that's not something if we're going to you know me if we're going to do something I'm going to want to do it right and so but we don't have that we don't have the 3D printers we don't have access to the button maker like we did um and I'm sorry I'm just like storming out loud here um at school we did a the cardboard day do you guys did your kids talk about that where like literally they just designed projects like with box cutters and and boxes and kids made pinball machines kids I mean Kevin O'Donald made a speedball machine for our hallway that all the teachers their freaks at but like um I don't know like I think the idea of NJ maker day is that it's to show that it doesn't need to be super elaborate like make can be as simple as is there a library in the area this this March we could go to and then we could get ideas that's a good idea I don't know um I know Tom's River they're the I think Tom river is the one you work for us Dave why are you asking us I think you can put that on your Todo list we went to Tom's River he the he used to I think he was the superintendent of the he was an assistant super and um yes he was the one that started it and then um really big guy he's the one who helped me design armag what's his name uh it was a u he's not the guy at um the Army Evans Camp he lives in town yeah it's it's um n he is the he's that what doing there the he is the I'm going to be there actually no we're not going Sam's not going this year we went last year he runs um like all the field trips and the events at what's the name of Camp Evans what is info AG info AG thank you he he's their director he he oversees info AG I'll contact and I bet you info ages hosting X yeah I'll contact yeah he was great with the school he he was very supportive when he retired and he's amazingy yeah donated money and great guy n a t a n a g a r a no it's like a huge event okay info AG is hosting it for this area and so is Ocean Township Middle School I don't know something I mean obviously March is super close but well you know you know I'll tell you what check it out and what happens is you can maybe start planning for next year I'm all for it if I even if you go and visit one of them oh yeah get ideas from what's the organization called New Jersy makers Day New Jersey maker day yeah I get their emails too so chat will be like you got any kind of canned ideas that we could mobilize on quickly so they might have things that they could just take off the shelf and say hey do this info info AG he's the director there yes I think March 21st to the 23rd but I'm just thinking more team activities so it's Friday to mon no Friday sorry Sunday we just about the on Sunday so Sunday will be one Target Sunday yeah because we're open on Sunday yeah that's right um anything to report on the coating or the fishing no other than waiting on a I mean we did pre have you started eorts so e the the spring season starts so it's you're it's season just like in basketball and so um we are doing the spring season which starts uh in February um so my practices are going to start actually probably next week and then we're going to practice a couple of days of a week and then competitions are March and a it's seven seven weeks I think so March into April um so I do need to come here and scope out the technology side of it what games um so we are doing Wednesdays um competition start at 3:30 so it's usually like 3:30 to 4:30ish what games um it's um they voted to do smash no Smash Brothers okay yeah that's the soccer with the cars Mario it's the Mario characters but um on the switch on the switches yeah and that's the only thing they are very strict about is that the technology is up to their standards because like we have a very beginner level program but some of the schools we are competing against it's like a legit team and um and I do sign this up for the lowest level so there's like um the contenders level and there's a you know pretty much equivalent to like a JB varsity and a freshman team um so we sign up as the lowest level but even those teams take it extremely serious because they're like you know getting their kids ready to advance through the program um and like last year we did have a day where our Tech went went out and you know coach was like did you check it before the game and like you know they take it seriously which I get because now they have a whole team of kids after school waiting to compete against us virtually and we can't and so um that's the only concern is that we do have to make sure that we will not like be glitching out in the middle that's the case yeah we if you're planning on having the compet I I thought we were going to have the practices here if you're going to have the competion pr are going to be well we we need to upgrade yeah big time right away and quickly I don't think I was going to is in the morning um so for child care issues um I would have to pay my babysitter like two hours extra and sign James up for ACT school program so like financially I'd be like losing money to Mike your daughter's available for babies any she's GNA be me she oh I did that program um can you get me the specs that you need so this way I can start mapping out how what we going to need to get talk but I think so I was running through my my schedule again so I could do one day after school for a practice which we could do here and then our competition then keep it at the school instead of Versa I mean we could I just to get to be able to do it here um we got to move quickly because my understanding was that practice was going to be here and that we we maybe would do a competition in the future you know like next year so the key I think the key is just identifying what the actual demands are I suspect that's going to be connectivity and bandwidth yeah and then what whether or not we can support the infrastructure or what improvements we need to make to the infrastructure because I think that would benefit the community at large you know not just for the Esports but for pushing pushing us as a flex space for people to come and work yeah you know having solid internet might be yeah we definitely do it it's just I I just want to make sure the date to be able to have the competition this spring with re you know with the requisition and and being able to you know we just we have to be quickly to get that to happen you know plus I got to make sure Marshall yeah well if you guys are if you're okay with I thought the competitions had to be here which is why I think it has to be anything the intent is to get the twin into our community as Library you know so however we can most efficiently do that while meeting the constraints of the different entities then then that would be fine you know if if we can accommodate practices just month even so the practices are easy right because the switches bring it bring it here it's the competition infastructure but we could definitely do it we just have to move quick and sometimes you know I just have to have a meet with Marshall and then Marshall's the te guy yeah he's the IT guy and then the other thing is don't you have to see what if they're going to do it in this room if you have any other folks that are meeting we're okaying should be a problem yeah that time pretty good like you think at 3:30 right it's scheduled for 3:30 and it usually lasts about an hour or so what day do you have a day yet or not yet um Smash Brothers is one Wednesdays what's the other when you say Smash Brothers there's another the game choices for the spring were sorry Smash Brothers is just having a a switch right and connected to the connected to each other all right so all right we pushing 8 o' I I think this level of detail needs to be coordinated by our director talk about this later rocket league but they don't want to do that they don't want to do that okay all right the the fishing I just talked to Mike he just needs to send me a u an invoice for us the that it's nowhere near what we agreed to um but lower lower he wants to meet with me to say how you know to increase the time so once I have that meeting with him I can okay and the last thing I just thought of just now is um in terms of trying to get things out to the public does the rat actually allow us to post anything because every so often I hear things on the radio yes the rat will do community notices so uh if we're doing something like say a donation Drive they will promote that our upcoming uh some they will probably mention that it would be like no no no we already no no no but like like the living history yeah they might do it uh they should be able to do it it'll be like a one of those that like buy to buy oh by the way exactly yeah that kind they'll do that I'm just trying to think of the community does listen sometimes to local radio stations and so that would be a nice freebie I don't think there's because it's it's considered a um public service PSA yeah uh motion to adjourn all in favor March
