one year warranties for each of the classroom units which is great news Honeywell is going to be doing a boiler test run um in early October to make sure everything is in working order there is one last smoke detector that um was to be installed in the principal's office regarding the markby day allpurpose room including the gym and Stage um duct work is complete piping and electrical work is set to be um completed as well in order for the rooftop units to um be mounted the marab day um playground has been installed and we are waiting for the rubber surfacing to be completed by the end of the week and finally Lakeland Bank is now officially Provident Bank and that is the end of my report thank you uh well closing out with mrin on the public relations and report that my report thank you um moving on to the general Administration Mr Owens sler can you consider moving 7.1 7.3 uh I'll do more than consider it uh I will move the adoption of resolutions 7.1 7.2 and 7.3 any questions on 7.1 7.2 or 7.3 see like our roll call please REO yeah M Hussein Mr oler yes Miss Santana yes Miss Spencer yes Mr storms yes Miss Wilson yes m cell yes M out to Human Resources Mr aler can you consider moving 8.1 to 8.16 and with like mind I will move the adoption of resolutions uh 8.1 through 8.16 inclusive noting that that includes uh two addenda 8.15 and 8.16 we have a second Miss Greco questions or comments on 8.1 to 8.16 um you know what I I will briefly just say um uh for the record a job very well done with respect to uh resolution 8.12 I want to commend Alicia uh for the really bang up job that's been done to get our buildings and grounds ready for the school year uh aided by our really good uh custodial staff support from the DPW um um I think buildings and grounds is running at Peak efficiency and probably um no better time in recent memory so thank you for your efforts about the St that come on the work of the team it's fantastic they do have very strong leader now though excellent any other questions or comments see n roll call please yes Miss Greco yes Missin Mr ens Slinger yes Miss Sana Miss Spencer yes Mr storms yes Miss Wilson yes Mr Carabella yes moving on to Academic Program student services Spencer would you consider moving 9.1 to 9.9 9.1 through 9.9 second M Santana any questions or comments on 9.1 to 9.9 the uh I'm just going to note that uh on 9.1 um there is um a unit at the end of the grade A Grade 8 curriculum that uh I think was left in the final document uh in error uh it's unit it was unit G it is unit grade a unit G um should have not been on the final document the reason reason I bring it up is because when you look at it it's blank any further comments see you hearing that can we got a roll call please yes M hus yes Mr oler yes Miss Sana yes Miss Spencer yes Mr storms yes Miss Wilson Mr car yes um moving on to finance uh GCO can you consider moving 10.1 10.10 yes I'd like to move motions 10.1 through 10.10 please a second Pi Santana any questions or comments on 10.1 to 10.10 uh I think we need to correct um some dates in 10.5 uh I suspect that the dates for January 9 through 8 June 9 were intended to be 2025 not 2024 it's just a typo so what has amended then I was going to ask one question Felicia when I looked at the treasury report it it seems like we got 300,000 last month in revenues this month mer we got approximately three million so I guess on the average you only get one and a half million right but we got delayed a payment yes the town Miss delayed the payment from it was the July they PID s the July and August in August as well in August and those payments do we get those directly from the town or how they come into to us um it comes from the town they give it to a police officer who delivers it to the bank so for some reason the town delayed the payment one month and it doubled it up double up the next mon the next month right okay I just want to make sure that payroll think was the payroll it was um they they' explained that they were one of the larger mortgage holders in bloomindale um was late getting them mortgage payments sorry they were late getting them payments out of ESC so which the August first tax payments were one of them was late yes in theory yes from from one of the mortgage so like a big Bank a big bank was late getting the burough Bloomingdale money which then in turn caused them to be late okay I just I was just curious that that that looked odd that yes they had explained in the past um past CFOs had temporarily pulled from other expense accounts to make our payment their their auditing firm is not recommending to do that any longer okay all right thank you for that clarification we get fees and interests on the late payment would you like to be put in charge of 1.5 million at least well let's see what happens in the next couple of months maybe that becomes an issue um I'm also just going to note as to 10.9 that this is now our third shared service agreement with the burough and there's more to come so um we're making ample use of shared services uh to provide quality services at the Le possible cost to blumo taxpayers any other comments man can you hear a roll call please yes M Recco yes M yes Mr Olinger yes Miss Santana yes Miss Spencer yes Mr storms yes Miss Wilson yes Mr carabell yes mov on to the Aon reports Miss Greco Butler Board of Education Friday night and then the foundation is hosting dinner not only the the players in 1994 but players that have played the B you know for many many years thank you Dr see a mayor and Council update um the only update I could share partially in um open session that executive is the um but this afternoon the um Business Bureau administrator on behalf of the mayor and Council approached me about Grant the burough was awarded um and wants to put fitness equipment here on our property at Walter T Bergen in accordance with our um field lease agreement they're looking um to seek approval everything else I'll speak about in executive session okay that's going to be on a future agenda the rest will talk about no no I'm sorry let me rephrase my the approval of the fitness equipment will be on a future one of our future agendas for approval um depending on their discussion it may be on tonight's agenda coming out of executive session see yes if we're going to take action we're have to do another public we would comment yes all right so I was reminding Dr gcia is when we come out of executive session and we take action prior taking action and voting on it we have to open another public uh comment section public needs a right to speak on the action that we take okay um thank you for that report moving on to Recreation M Wilson yes um rck had a meeting on Monday September 9th um some upcoming fall programs for adults they're having a pound class which is like a drumstick Remy stick workout class which is going to be on Tuesdays um pickle ball lessons on Wednesdays and Thursdays there's a Broadway show um Hell's Kitchen and it's $98 a ticket and that's on November 1st and it's almost sold out and there's a devil's game Sunday November 10th um for the kids there's another session of the children's musical theater um Tuesdays running um November 12th through December 17th and will end with a holiday show and that's for 1 through fourth grade hind siiz picassos is going to be on Saturdays there's going to be a Lego Club uh Thursdays an art Club on Wednesdays um field hockey started and they're going to have another session of karate and they're thinking about doing during teachers convention and art and Lego Workshop um like slash camp for the those days and see that's it that's the end of my report the next meet I'm sorry the next meeting is October 14th thank you moving on to New Jersey school boards any update um no nothing new okay so we just got Workshop coming up at the end of October all right sounds good um M husin can you do p County School boards um County School Board associations 20124 2025 school year will be at Mario's restaurant in Clifton on Wednesday September 25th it'll be a hybrid meeting and the program for that meeting will be focusing on effectively planning and financing a referendum to maximize impact on tax levy and I will report back from that meeting and that concludes my report thank you how about PTA okay so right now their P me memberships for this upcoming year are open uh anybody can be a member you don't have to be a parent so I know like any board members are interested um they can um they can register and the a member must joined by 930 um let's see by 9:30 to be counted in their contest every year every year they have a contest to see how many members they can uh sign up and I think I believe last year they had a record number of PTA members sign up which is awesome so their goal this year is 200 and and um and then if people want to join for the class parent raffle I believe that's um 99 919 um that you have to um pay your dues by then and the grade with the most PT receive the following Martha bday gets extra recess Samuel aronald gets extra recess Wilder T Bergen gets to play kickball matball or lunch outside so there's little you know nice prizes for the kids uh there at the end of the month on 927 September 27th and 28th the PTA and glenwall garden center is having a fall flow sale which will include pumpkins hay bales corn stocks and essenti and if anybody's interested in supporting the PTA that weekend they essentially just when they're purchasing a product need to just mention that this is kind of um for to donate for the PTA otherwise they won't count it so and then on October 4th there is a fall ball with that'll be it's in in conjunction with Bloomingdale Public Schools and the PTA um and that's on grades five and six is having their dance from 5 to 6:30 grade 7 and 8 was having their dance from 7:00 to 8:30 and um the the whole idea is address to impress and um there will be snacks and drinks served and this is a drop off event um parents can who want to shop run or volunteer can sign up then there's the colorathon fundraiser and that registration uh and all donations for that um are due by September 19th but the actual event will be on Sunday October 6 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. at waler T Bergen and a coloron essentially is um kind of like a I guess a race but it's not a competitive race and you can you kind of get different like colors of powders that on you so supposed to be fun and you know kids can come out um and parents and and and you know so and I think that there's a the high the person who um raises the most money I get gets get gets like color bomb the pr the principal the respect a principal or something like that so um some great incentive and then just there's just a lot of events coming up uh there's um Trunk or Treat on 10 27 just anyone wants to save the date boo bags uh fundraiser will be from 101 to 1018 and a lot of fun um the delivery will be on 10:30 so right before Halloween um November there's going to be a h phot shoot November 2nd to November 3rd the book fair will be around um in early November uh and then December holiday shops it's going to be in 123 uh 124 December 3rd 4th and 5th and then the TRS Marketplace will be on December 6th this year that concludes my report thank you uh in absence of this Marcus any potential update from planning Mr sler we the planning board has a meeting regular meeting scheduled for Wednesday September 25th I have not seen the agenda but um I believe that the only thing we'll be dealing with is the continuation of that pending application or a use variance with respect to a piece of property on starlake Ro okay okay I know that property you you review it previously yes okay thank you any questions or comments on the report so far uh for seniors uh they have the next meeting is SE was supposed to be September 23d they moved it out to September 30th so I'll give a report after that date with the next meeting and just maybe at that this time I'll just take the opportunity to mention that you know people remind people this Saturday is a Bloomingdale celebration day I know that a couple of us might be out to that event so I see I'll see somebody who's there um moving on to Old business know uh so for new business there's two items U I don't know people want to make a comment on 13.1 ran ricklan um who passed away this summer and she was um a wonderful volunteer on this board she um always lent her voice to what was best for the students of our district she also served as vice president um she served on negotiation committee so you know those of us who remember Maran know she um was outspoken for for what she believed in and she was very very supportive of the teachers in the district and she always wanted to do what was best in the interest of our students so um it's a loss and she was a wonderful wonderful board member okay I I would Echo uh that say she was also um one hell of a lady she um lived in Bloomingdale uh for over 60 years she moved to Bloomingdale in 1961 and she and her husband Jerry um she pred deceased uh she was pred deceased by Jerry and um by for many years and they lived on Corner noes road and rafkin road and um she was um outspoken and forthright honest as the day is long and always did right by bling deal and always provided very wise common sense counsil um so I Echo your sentiments any other questions or comments can we get a motion then for 13.1 no by grco I will U I'll second your motion but ask that the resolution be corrected um her last name was r i c k l m NN and yeah and maryan Ma one one one word uh m r y capital A maryan rck two nck rickan is El do we get a second I I second you did second it okay thank you so it's been uh second it corrected and second it any other questions on the uh motion to moralize Maran ricklan no can we get a roll call please REO yesin yes Mr ol sler yes Sana yes Miss Spencer yes Mr storms yes Miss Wilson yes Mr yes thank you m have the Third .2 um do you want to introduce that you want me to introduce it sure I so um as we've alluded to earlier we met with the cpad group and had a productive meeting Monday evening one of their requests um of the board was that similar to our other liaison appointments that a board member um be appointed as a liaison um so it'll be liaison pretty much to attend their meetings and then report back at board meetings um regarding what's taking place with cpeg um I will still handle um as the administrative represent ative to them actually missa and I du will serve this role um as the administrative representative so we'll still handle day-to-day operations with cpeg like we do with all Community organizations but um their request was that a um a liaison be created and then appointed that summarize it okay so do we have anyone that would like to volunteer for that position Mr was saying you volunteer to do the cpeg uh ra on yeah okay uh I don't know we need to take a action on it then based on your volunteer we'll appoint you to be the uh the aison for that position um do we want to take a vote just to create that liaison position maybe that's what we should be doing traditionally every January we do actually take roll call vote on Le on appointments so I would take a roll call vote on it so just do it as one right to and Nadia as uh boards CPAC yeah that sounds good so then if we're can get a motion Greco second by Miss Wilson any other questions or comments on that motion no can we get a roll call please M GCO M husin Mr olager yes M Sana Miss Spencer Mr storms yes Miss Wilson yes Mr carella yes so I'd like to get a motion out to open second second public comment sub bylaws 167 on any educational item that's a TI okay so the saying Greco thank you that being gracious um all in favor I I so at this time we're open for our second public comment on uh any educational item seeing no that want to be made uh can I get a motion to close Reco second by Wilson all in favor I okay so second all comment is [Music] closed all right gonna be going into executive session anybody want to read this executive session who hasn't done it yet just read it whereas the open public meetings act permits a public body to meet in close session to discuss certain matters whereas the said Law requires the board to adopt a resolution at a public meeting before it can meet in such an executive or private session be it therefore resolved that the Bloomingdale board of education has determined that it be necessary to meet and close session on September 18th 2024 at 7:33 pm. to discuss negotiations be it further resolve that the Bloomingdale Board of Education reserves the right to discuss other matters be it further resolve that the minutes of this closed session be made public when the need for confidentiality no longer exists okay so we have a motion in a second all in favor I but this time we're going going into executive session um so we should be there how long an hour about an hour action may be taken after taken
