welcome and the mood meter uh I have the pleasure of introducing our new superintendent uh Roberto Hernandez we will meet the CSD team we'll talk talk about some celebrations for the new school year we'll um discuss the state of the district with some data and we'll end with some announcements and reminders as always um we'd like to begin with the mood meter as a reminder um the mood meter is not just about where you are right all emotions matter it's about the things that we do in order to shift ourselves if we find ourselves someplace on the mood meter where we don't want to be so if any anyone from the um the council would like to share where they find themselves or feel free to enter into the chat yes Katherine I am energized because we are getting things done and we have a new superintendent energized and because of getting things done thank you yes Emma I love it you went all along the yellow Pleasant pleasantness uh row thank you any okay we'll take it beautiful um and at this point I would love to um introduce again our new superintendent uh Robert nandz who is going to present um some slides to us this evening thank you very um again I just want to folks who just us at home and folks who just here so priv and proud to be a part of this but most importantly to have the S as superintendent and support of our students here problems so again I'm I'm ecstatic I'm extremely happy and proud to be a to be given this opportunity so I start off with first gring presentation myself and the three values that you see here is the pursuit of Excellence CIP [Music] Andy and a bit deeper give some descriptions them up but when I'm looking at the pursuit of excellence and I'm looking at it think of the pursuit of Excell you think is something that we're contining to strive and within my personal values it's a commitment to high quality education for every single student beginning Early Child there 3K first grade second grade third going all the way up to middle school and high school and then continuing that skill that they acquire within our community they can take that into both either career or college and that's that's the purs that's the the noar that we want to see in our community and doing that is start exence teaching and learning think about do this within ours we're going to do this suppor our families so that they can support at home so looking at Excellence between teaching and learning is so essential for our students in all grades equipping our students with necessary skills and knowledge for a changing world most recently we heard CH speak the idea integ AI technology and thinking about where our a are going to be 20 years from now and evolution of where how do Weare now how do weet this change this how Evol and that they understand they taking advantage work that's our responsibity dist School leaders our families are aware what currently exists what could exist make sure we buil that as we move forward and that begins with right starts right at the very beginning um you know we' been Char as District to implement City and we have been or teacher we started the work last year continuing that work this year we look forward to supporting our families with the deps of the impementation and contining to buac and also our join the district so a lot of good work last year we always have to see [Music] conne wees into our district it's really we also create oppi what we do for our community what we do for our kids so work looking forward to our earning with the coun and our parent leaders our parent coordinators and our school leaders that parents what we're doing when it comes to Bright starts and also as we begin to look forward and with the impementation as well and ulting through middle school and high school as we look at Futures each student has academic for what ahead I'm really excited work that we can do together around that and you know begin with the within our schools so looking forward to a lot of lot to come when it comes to the F so we Shi through that and we talk about so how we you know as we move toward to Excellence how we do that is through collaboration specific collaborative leaders um we excited to see the work that was done here this evening seeing you all in action um and coming together to support the leadership in order for for us to be able to Le be able to come to consensus around what we need to do uh as we move forward and we come together and so that's the very beginning and that commit to relation within with communities within schools how we model that I think this is an opportunity right as uh as a CDC we are actually modeling for our school slts and for our other parent leaders of how we can work together and our school leaders and hopefully today is an example of that attribute to that work of collaborative leadership so again I want to thank the council for the work they come toight I P you as we move forward this is the first example of a great collaborative leadership so and I would say that and again recognizing the importance of community and the import of input within that process and ultimately as we are engage in the pursuit for accidents and working together we do this with aets we do this ensuring that every student needs are met every service is met that as we design programs that we begin in designing programs with students with uh who are required Services because if you do not design one one things I I mentioned today at a a professional learning is that when you're designing a program within your school you need to design that program first with students who have IEPs and multilingual Learners because once you design a program with students first there and Bri out you service every single student within that Community as opposed to try to fit the service within so that's really important in design process and I think that you know just building that pacity building that advocacy understanding the why behind it uh and as we get to to the how and what it looks like it's so simple uh so that that particular process is something that I want to continue to to lead with and lean in uh and we work together on that looking at the focus of providing the best education experences and and I want to kind of sit within this idea of what an experience is so we talked a little bit I excellence and teaching and learning um one thing I have to say is that an experience that you have within the classro no student can learn from a person they don't like true so experiences are so important they stay with people for I'm sure that everybody has to make we can all talk about that one person in our life and that experience in school that we will never forget and you talk your kid and about that that one special person um what I say to that is that and what I say to us as a as a team is this maximize that experience it shouldn't be one it should be it should be every single person who in the school and that requires work that requires work to do as a team as a community uh to our heart into put our soul into put our mind into how we dedicate um to the student the whole child the community the families being B patient and leaning into that uh and and being an advocate and that's what we are we are here to service our community we are here to service our students our families um and I'm happy to be leading that work as a part of a core value that I have and be able to share that with others so that they understand and also that we can help and lift that up out of them as well and ultimately is really working together to create a brighter future for our students in our communities because when we create Bright Futures for every single student we create a bright future for the blocks we create a bright future for this city I know you talk about having the the Bronx as the best and I actually I wrote that you know Bronx has the best and leading way and the fact that District is one of the biggest districts within New York City I guess I say this when so goes district 10 so goes a city right because we are numbers Pig and so when we go the city goes that let's lead the way let's take this Challenge and it's a good challenge to take and it's really exciting to be a part of the work as we move forward so where do we begin and part of that is a 90day entry plan so today I'm actually here on day four happy to and um you know I have some pictures here of some of the I went to inch uh that you see here on the left um they had an event there PTA sponsoring this event this giveaway event so that was really excited to be able to be there uh and also I believe this picture here in the middle is meeting with um I this is our parent coordinators here um and with all the parents in in the district all the parent coordinators within the district really sharing with them as well the vision that I have um being able to talk a little bit I sh some personal stories growing up here in the Bron and just really motivating them also sharing with them they're a key component in this work as well as as a bridge to to our families as a bridge the community uh and then we have a few of our principles here to the right that was from today's professional learning multi- ver an academic manage uh we have a great day we have over 100 participants across all our schools really participating in really good learning as we look at New York City reads and the implementation and support that we're doing and building the teachers capacity to do this work um so to to go into what that looks like so the first Bas is the listening so really being able to meet build relationships cultivate those relationships listen to ideas hopes to dreams um to hear about really the the proudest moments that we have within our school what makes that proud and what makes you feel that it's really proud and and also it's important to understand what those challenges are and we understand adding what those ones are from each stakeholder uh so we're going to have listening to us we're going to share the dates and the locations they're going to be in person um I know it's really important to make sure we have access to all so we're going to do remote and in person we're going to do evening we're going to do a weekday event as well during I know some families work in the evenings um and we're also clst Saturday session as well and I welcome CC members when you can to to join me in some of these sessions so um you're also helping with as part of the leadership team we're all listening right and U we really taking in and the more that we can listen the more information that we can get it's so important to read thinking about what we can do as a community and the next phase uh is is really the word of the ph and this is really once we get a lot of this information and we look within our data and we try to dig deep unpack and see what are our strengths as a community what makes us because I know as as everyone shared here Dr Tusa has started a lot of great work with you all and we are this is not about abandoning any work this is about building on our strengths what makes us strong and then looking at opportunities what are those opportun to make us stronger to make us better as a district to ensure that we are servicing every single family and student I'm going to say this over and over again because the more that we say it the more that it's in our heads is a metap piece right you don't even have to speak and you're already here servicing our students servicing our families ensuring that we meet uh everyone's meetings um so looking and learning reflecting making meaning analyzing and studying for data points um so that's really important in in this particular work and again doing this together being able to show share the progress with the what we're doing and moving toward that and then the final the final phase here is is looking at leading so once once we we've listened once we've gathered and engaged in unpacking and analyzing it's then bringing everything together being able to Mead um collab with all stakeholders develop a strategic plan so so you know I know sometimes you know we're looking at this and say hey we're going to get a plan we have a plan this year we have goals but I say that in every plan in every goal there are adjustments and as we look at where we're at as a community maybe those plans were created and the opportunities W necessarily included so we're looking at opportunities to make adjustments and so as we we go back um the Final Phase is really looking at the Strategic plans s district and how we're holding ourselves as a team and holding me as well as a superintendent to be able to implement strategically this plan uh as we move forward and being able to share get some final feedback because there may be some changes that we might want to make and then um begin to to implement the plan um and that doesn't mean that the work that we're doing now stops into this piece I think it's really important to understand that we have some goals that we've made using the district data and for example looking at the work around and Ure capacity we're also just looking at other components our school district and I think that we looking at how we can leverage some of those key pieces within the spring and then going into the next few year I would say that when a 30-day plan is a work so we're looking around a timeline would be around February January and February we should be complete by this so I do want to kick it over to Maris and continue um to do the remaining good evening everyone Mitchell one of oury superintendent so GL be with everyone tonight I have the pleasure of introducing our team we are so excited to welcome our superintendent robt Hernandez we are now like 89% fully sta about 40 we are waiting to bring one more person on um and if you are on the zoom tonight I ask you just to kind of wave um and if you're here in person to say your name and your role and we're so excited to be here to support you like I said a team of 40 so everyone sees Hernandez Mar my Deputy har marado our executive director of school support and operations Mar herein I know we had some other here and I know that there must be folks on the zoom who are probably leaving leaving so thank you um put about a team of 40 to support our 55 schools and our six 3K centers we have a new principal this year I'd like toally welcome principal Jennifer rera of TX 29191 next couple of slides show some really beautiful pictures that were able to take during the first couple of days of school uh we couldn't resist adding that picture of that young lady jumping into the first school that from ps9 their school yard has been a construction for the past couple of years and so this was the first school year at a long time where the students were able to get outside and jump for joy so that was really exciting um these are some more pictures you'll see there's a picture there of Dr holla and Pres Vanessa Gibson at um ms391 supporting our school with their opening and also talking to some a theaters about disciplinary budget and funding and all the unique things that supp school this year some more pictures from our our schools um just celebrating the first day days of SCH as you know we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month this began September 15 15th and will last through October 15 we certainly celebrate our his every day but we do have dedicated month for this we gave a call to action to our principles um to do something special to celebrate their students these are some of the ideas that they shared with us and some pies for you to enjoy celebrating prominent members of our school Community engaging in Cal assemblies crafting Cal project and participating as a community g walk the and learn from projects and engaging in the my story our story project um Google that and learn a little bit more about that those are two pictures on the bottom from psms 279 and psms 37 have been invited tomorrow to [Music] the to city council um for the opening act independence of Mexico h Community that's super exciting psms 37 been invited to that special event tomorrow just remind us about our community school district 10 mission statement for our tomorrow we do this by leveraging professional development and cl planning time to support teachers and rigorous instruction getting effort to accelerate learning and instruction investing in Innovative practices that enance the effective leadership and our [Music] stakeholders galvanizing and developing more collaborative teachers and proser teacher leaders who get lead teams towards increased student achievement highlighting and continuing to partner with families as an indispensible resource to deepen strong family and communes and teaching students parents and student communities to effectively and proactively integrate ully respons social emotional and academic learning strategies to cultivate more inclusive supportive environments and to advance that and I'm going to pass back over to for thank you so we just wanted to share some slides with you related to our data across our district um as you know St for college is an important program for our families to support them building one so if you take a look here we have roughly about in the 20s of our 20% of our families have concluded BL which is the beginning of that program and so we're just encouraging everyone on the call members of the council as you're in communication with scho building leaders orators or fames we please encourage you to support completing building work for the saf college program and we're sending that same message um to again our parent forers our school leaders um because we really want this program to to get off the ground um to support fam when we think about L one that schools will facilitate mastering of core academic skills and content expertise that makes it think of our um work with City and the intered implementation so to quickly go through with you what this looks like so what does it mean your city Le in the implementation of inter it means that inter is our program our core instructional program across all schools to and in addition to reading we are also looking at in terms of fin s awareness programs like Foundation Integrity youth those are alls that we're using across our students for instruction is focused on improving have students Lear and that's coding as well as how their understanding test which weish and how we doing we're doing supporting [Music] acour High Lage vocabulary and discussion in the classroom we're emphasizing key ideas in detail we're promoting writing every single day and providing ongoing professional development for teachers what does this look like for you as parents your children should be coming home with the c the text to read with you right those are Texs that your children should be practicing reading at home um should be coming home fre you should be hearing and seeing the writing that your children are doing every day you can also check out the inter reading website and we encourage you to join as many literacy events in child school and the literacy fair just like we had last June we'll have another one this year and of course you'll get more information on that and if you'd like to check out the uh H&H inting parent site that is the QR code on the left of the screen and the um h f made a video for us on how you can access parent material and that video is on the right hand side of the code and we really encourage you to check that out for example if your children come home and they say that they're reading a text in class you can actually go on to H website and you can see the text so that you yourself can read it at home with your child um so you can have more pH conversations for the family we'll just quickly go through some data um there was a request for us to share some ready data so this is from the end of the so e the end so as you know our goal is always to increase proficiency you see the the upward trajectory I if that's what we're looking for and decrease students who are below grade L and so that is that is goal um we saw some increasing across the course of the year and we're excited about that um do we want them to be better want to be greater and so that remains the work um and we saw a reduction in our students who were below grade level and we want those to be greater reduction so through our work with um and un City Styles over the course of the year um that is what remains right that Focus On Core Construction and students increasing their ability to get home and Tex they we also have some attendant TRS this to me is probably one of the most powerful slides in our de and it talks about how when students miss two days a month of attendance that means is 10% of the school year and more than 100 hours of instruction so just think about when we're asking students to do high level complex thinking multi-step problems in mathematics to coding grade level tests they need to be in school in order to do that and so that 100 hour is really stuck with st they is 10% of the school year so we encourage you again as your these school and your community your families please to share that with them and of course we want our school leaders to do the same and it's important that every day counts every day Counts from child a that's a king of God first grade especially especially K God first grade second grade every day counts I know our kids sometimes they get sick you know when they feeling well every day comes that was a mop [Laughter] [Music] read you start getting sorry I'm can I ask just in this pause if um state test scores have been un embargoed like are you allowed to talk about them yet or are they still they're publicly available okay [Music] [Music] great you know you could always the M um and always have communication like I always say with the par with the [Music] teacher person [Music] [Music] ands and she she's like where wait you can that of course you that oh my [Music] [Music] go back and go to work just put that out there thank you thank you for sharing that's a great and and if the appointment is at 11:00 pick them up at time then that still means that they have the Trum in the morning of their academic work right so that that they perhaps did this that day right so that that this is [Music] really actually go back sorry sorry so we just wanted to share our current attendance r year to date is 98.8 and so that is higher you notice um across the York [Music] City and but we could do better but we can do that everyday count and if the students are in school and even if they have that appointment they can come back so we just to make sure that information was um available to you all relative to the new Omni CS so that is basically a replacement for Metro cars across New York City public schools and it gives more free rides there are few limits than what Metro cards have previously um and so you can as it says t for every ride please communicate with your schools if you have questions around program um but we really you know we're encouraging amilies to take advantage of this this really great information about our monthly District leadership team we take place virtually [Music] there the and the next meetings I'd like to talk about our presid council meeting pleas meet mon monthly excuse me the third Wednesday of each month in the evening on Zoom you can see the dates there and download the fly link the next meeting is we in English bang and the next two slides have on Spanish and Arabic so we're looking forward to seeing everyone on the zoom tomorrow from 10 to 12 it's a mandatory districtwide C1 training our schools will also be meeting this next slide talks about an exciting opportunity for a city L SLT School leadership team DT District leadership team training that will take place Saturday September 28th all schedule and I'm going to turn back over to our superintended to talk about a listening tour sure and um so as I shared with you we you are listening to at different locations but uh speaking with the council uh just the team here yesterday I said you know why why not keep up today and so for folks at home um there's a QR code here and I also list the questions U so this gives you an opportunity submit a very simple three questions what do we doing well as a district what areas do we need to strengthen and the third one what advice you have for me uh so if you can take a moment uh just you know click on this QR code uh and please uh you can fill this out this q c will be open until we beginning the tour so we want to try to collect as much information as possible um if you don't get to do it now these are the questions that as I visit different Comm with our team members that AR asking but when we are in person also going to be listening and we'll be taking we'll have our team members taking notes as well but I just figure that it's a great opportunity to kick us off why why wait let's just start right now here you go three quick questions and being able to let our community members at home to to contribute to some information as We Gather this it would be a great way for us to be able to look and share and see as we that ear what is resonating with Thea thank you very much [Music] everyone that Q code if you could quickly put that Q [Music] I going [Music] [Music] beautiful thank you so much thank you again [Music] [Music] now [Music] [Music] [Music] Street on that first day of school and it was a wonderful walk we had walk with [Music] Council council member [Music] and the first day of school for middle school and I know middle scho for don't want to go to school first want to hang out but it was it was cred that it wased we were also engaging with some of the parents some the parents already know which was great so that was an excellent day it was the one of the greatest first day of school that I had I [Music] have throughout the years but that was a good day I acent with the support that we had also face was there which was nice L Sanchez was there it was it was acting time I also have the privilege to go to District 75 their F on last Saturday that was a huge event and just to um collaborate at thator with District 75 and the superintendent and all the St it was it absolutely crowed just entering um that school on 149 but I met my Council there so nice son had a good time my son usually not he that day he is my president report I know we all looking forward to go to ourt meetings council members this school year we got all the and I to [Music] knowbody of going to ps46 I believe it wasc it was called a town hall meeting where principal Johnson spoke to the parents it was actually two days before school open she talked about attendance she talked about graduation she talked about cell phones and um she talked about quite a bit of stuff definitely the attendance I also noed one of the um her students who live my building she went to Dr she didn't come back until September 10 so I will probably speak with that parent now that I know that affects her her grave and then uh as our president said I went through PS 391 with face and some of the C members did a walk through welcome back to our new students old students and of course the parents about two hours ago I attended another SLT at ps24 and I know principal as well as some of his parents um I I have fun going to his school because he gives D and he knows I like that um what impressed me this time time was that they have a new program where they working with simar to what our superintendent talked about how to teach our children to learn better and I met the young lady Casey and she called it a and I forgot exactly what that meant but they're teaching the children how to think how read they're working both with the um teachers and anybody that know me the first thing I always say is parents you have to have parents engagement in the district 10 I've been in District 10 since 1973 and in District 10 we have a lot of parents that cannot read we have grandparents that are raising their grandchildren and they cannot either speak English or read my hope and desire superintendent is that we engage parents more you're sending the children home thinking that the parents can help but they can't because the parents don't know how so uh I do have a friend that he's a director at one of the Adult Learning Centers so between the Adult Learning Centers and our Public Library we need to encourage our parents to it's it's beautiful know two and three languages to be engaged and learn another language the other thing is um I had the pleasure for for those who don't know I work with several groups and I shared it with our superintendent earlier I had the pleasure of going to uh BC in support of themill from AOC and senator Smith on housing and a lot of folks ask me why am I involved because that affects our school the and I think I shared with um our I think I it with on B Park in the grand conquer Studio cost $3300 there's a problem I also work with the right to counsel with we have folks that are in eviction status we have folks that cannot afford a part so if um our superintendent Doyle remember I asked about three ago why so many students in District 10 and the problem is Affordable hous they no longer can afford to live and trust me they Bronx is one of the highest besided the other thing is um our President we have a representative here tonight I appoint and they're getting ready to do it says please be advised that our annual res presentation for the fiscal year 2026 will be on Thursday October 10th at president Bron president and um I tell everybody when I go to different brother it's Upstate to the capital or if it's the DC or the Samaritan where I had engaged 31 cities around the United State deal with housing that's the issue in my heart and I tell every I'll give you my phone number all I need you to do is to get on the you cannot understand or learn politics unless you're engaged with it and I think we need to bring that c and I believe we talked about that at theid office as well we need to teach our students how to V how it's important to V what the me our young folks are so how you say this disheartened by what they see here you can't make change unless you willing to work as I said at you got and the Bron with this new superintend [Music] parents that cannot read um the corner on 181st um everybody my son and I meet a lot of parents with the busing that's like the bus and and grandparents and Guardians are looking after the children and there is a connect in regards to busing and understanding what happens in scho because they're the providers they the careers for grandchild grandchild because that middle part this woman she really frustration and and I I I was kind of I was explaining to her how things kind of work I think we get so interested in the tech Sav of reaching everybody through our devices but we also have to remember that in this Bor there's there's that Gap and I'm summon somebody else also this afternoon either [Music] they and lower and then the Baby Boomers and above this middle section kind of don't exist or we there and we just don't we're not bring that Gap and these baby boomers are so they want to help but they don't know how to because they're not Tex so they looking for the paper in the book bag or something like that so they interact with the school because [Music] they I would well well District 35 there's a little contradiction there and you're working on that [Music] stop but um we do have member [Music] hi so I went to to interview with um council member Erica Gonzalez and Amy um the first one was in 254 and we interviewed two candidates we [Music] um we the recommendation in one of them which is is already part of the family uh the school the neighborhood um and the other schol was X 268 and it was only one candidate and um we also gave recommendations um I had on November 11 my sot from sorry it's n yeah 911 244 um but they were basically talking about the um um spell PS the policy about the cell phones um engaging parents to the PC parent Association they also spoke about um Lian college has um GD and um English classes and it's actually a graduate from 244 that is providing that at the school um what else the CP they working on the CP um also went to jba for the sot that was on 912 uh they also working on the modification of C they have Pro days and the next will be October 30th um they did election they have a full board um ninth grade is a over capacity and um yeah they're doing great and um talking about the forom university mentoring programs tutors uh the Ro B the RO R and um yeah today was I was supposed to go to 360 I went at 3:00 and they mentioned to me that they were rescheduled for the 27 which is this Friday at 10: and 3:10 I have it on the tomorrow at at 2:40 thank you bu thank you [Music] [Music] hello um the school brings back memory volunteer um and personal work um my one graduated as a attorney and the other one graduated as 3 years ago as tutori um I started with August 29th um I attended fromation of the it was amazing it was amazing I was like when I started [Music] it was very um if the all distri can do something that any other event [Music] that do so again because it was so nice I loved it um I took my daughter to it she was like she she didn't know what to say I told she like it she like yeah he like it like School everything um and I had a um which is a producer who produced um [Music] jope all that spe wow made it was like okay I want the [Music] parents said um I want to the parents to get up um and we got up um [Music] that's your mom that's [Music] a um my parents say [Music] so I think that was very good and then after that told everybody and he told the student okay student get up and then um he gave gave a he was like you see those kids um it doesn't matter what they did on those days you need to love them you need to accept maybe maybe this is not the that they want than [Music] and [Music] IUD know those are people all that very um that um I did I [Music] I hope that family after to [Music] school to what information have that um distribute to the parents on Monday I some parents [Music] [Music] [Music] it is great to have you know um learn more about [Music] um number 17 please um this the chancellor spoke about examples what to do school was coming and said that they're going to um in the for fall that schol will have like for for high school students for college which is like kind helpful for them so that Fresh Off um I know some students and families who have M to dist 8 dist 11 so soed 11 to c c um as well 18 um [Music] 18 on the 18th um I went to New York City Mission information on [Music] the school coming um that's student transportation 75 Council I will put in the to the umk city school app survey the transportation is in for on4 and contct they proved SP about you know the [Music] that facilitators theer so parents parents parents they that scho you know it was like a town hall where um it's not about just well this is going wrong how do we come together to make this better you're saying that [Music] this [Music] [Music] is thank you so much Council any reports for of s [Music] it's not really a report but I found the uh one of our schools which is it's not really a report but I found um I transferred my son from Eagle Academy which was District 11 to post High School which was district 10 which is one of our schools so I addressed the them and my son told but they're super super excited to have one in there you know one of us council members with a student that's there so I said just don't harass us but I'm just letting me know you know you can come and talk to me and address us with anything so I just wanted to bring that up and share that with you guys thank you I also show everybody the UFC is having um building par [Music] partn Saturday sep 2 between the hours of 9 and 3M check our Facebook page there check our Facebook page definitely posted there ass and our website um it was be all these and all these information will be on our social media right and if you need [Music] any I just want to know the fourth quarter is the hardest quarter of the year for any business and any entity we do everything you could think of Under the Sun so there's no excuse that you didn't know because it's everywhere it's in your face you could go to if you want it you reach on that's [Music] what just reach out to us no question is hard now going to our [Music] com but that's great yes and want to see all of us that's great it's a new year and fresh you to see all the new faces you know us don't reach out to reach out and touch is that 18 and second motion thank you council members thank you everyone online don't be afraid to reach out is 809 going take thank you very much is the cushion I'm in an age where I need a cushion to the Ladi start traveling okay and it's a good yeah yeah it it wasn't I went to that Friday to tell me I had to make the appointment to come back so I sat outside from: morning to go home flights [Music] you don't know I was excited yes said said c they was like oh really I said listen listen listen listen calm down support but that really inter everything and it work out better for him because now get he'll get double the credits get a CH gradu little late butn Hospital yeah what in the hospital blood so makes me want to fall over other people's blood my own blood you know really good though and that's another sh it because that's what of our high schools that have a microwave in it because he can Rel right so now they're horrible yeah yeah [Music] GI the that's a pleasure land that's and she's there she the workshop and she oh yeah I was going to take some um chicken and rice yeah good yeah you can just put on a plate cover thank you I appreciate it thank so much you know what I'm set okay thank you for coming they teach us in in also in the groups the hous group how to engage people because I said on one I belong to Alli and they talked about how do you engage and I said but I learned some of stuff working at customer service supervisor but I also learned in seminary thank you he went to the to and well the library the communication doesn't even online last time God bless the Tia James sued the Department of Education years ago to make sure that because I was embarrassed some of those me are and you got invite [Music] I someone accomplish I really want to like look into adult learning opportunities right right right so there so those are the ones like for example selfed and then there's the ones that this uh yes I'm I'll try to find yeah yes yes I agree yes yeah is your wife yes she is uh for the high school district she okay yeah oh my God I did not know she's something terrible oh and I didn't show you the latest my granddaughter did the she threw it and she the baby yes we went to the supermarket Virginia smart shoer I had two carts and stuff my daughter had four carts of groceries she got we long she just took thought it was a screen the old the old five minutes it's took took five minutes to find a bathroom Okay well last time we called the business meeting to order at 820 so we're not that far off yes no more We're not gonna have no more printing so everything is going digital okay soend everything to you guys thank you oh yeah she's got a present oh she hour must be on the other side of the Bron is there something well we can start taking attendance you got to have [Music] [Music] amen she's also in the B that's [Music] [Music] let's to the event discussion [Music] and counil she she has emergency so I was just talking about was time but we talking about events and I wanted to discuss about doing an event at district 10 I was also trying for us to not do it in the spring I thinking about Christmas time um and I also wanted to end this year off better than um than going into 2025 because then it gets kind of clutter everybody trying to do everything at one time and also do the budget so um I like to put a discussion a open discussion of how do the council feel about doing the event in December [Music] oh right there I would like for us to do this almost a payback off of the emergency so I think of me girls and Christmas whatever I I wanted us to do with the schools you know St Christmas cows I think we kind of get out of the Christmas M I personally love Christmas anything and I think we kind of Vamp up Thanksgiving then it kind of go down just new and then it's over I want us to make Christmas a Christmas like never before in District 10 I want to do something out of the ordinary those people who are EO mind your business but I don't want our event during the spring time I in the that's okay and [Music] go winter a winter W the land type them like holiday festival I like that you go that's just that's just mad president Holiday Lights music [Music] food cookies um [Music] I don't know if we're able to do that to unless you're willing to get sponsorship if anyone is interested in giving away something then we need to make connections with different sponsors so if the G A giveway then do you have spor that we like hey correct so different um stores in the district like the big ones like Target but also partnering with cbos electeds police [Music] departmenta you have partnership with a lot of these organ I know I know yes they started the applications alone for Toys for Tots just with sept the first week of September so that kind of behind if that's the case yeah that's true that's true it's thank you [Music] [Music] k at heart that is just me I'm kid at heart so if it's possible we just need location location [Music] location that stage but then you get a bigger C instead of being [Music] just yeah but that that's because you do a giveaway for example oh but I don't have my child either um but then my my grand kid um then you have send send like zero to like 5 years old and there's always going to be an issue with that so that's the I'm like come I mean you could come up with a voucher or the child has to be present I think those like specific things right those Min I mean Mina getting down to the detail things but let's talk big picture first because we want to secure a space we need a date got to put those things in place and then you can go ahead and start sub commmittee so everybody going to take a role you're going to contact these people you're going to reach out and see about donations you know we want to have whatever it is but everybody's gonna have to play a role um where where in the where in the I just need suggestions the school I want ice [Music] skating which has a pool freeze the pool got a freeze where have we not been that would be a good we have not been to the other side of the district um like the Little Italy side yeah 5 32 51 nor um we haven't been there in a while like 59 23 159 um that part of the district we spent a lot of time on on this side the West the Riverdale side so that's also true um I think you want to look at a space that has a gym that has an auditorium that has multiple backyard flexible space 280 280 not bad cuz they have that big yard and they also have a big Auditorium Parkway it's not that from the train it's not that the 34 the 28 the 16 bucks okay different okay it's okay sorry I'm doing this the micophone you can't you can't hear me or you can't hear now me OHA I mean whoever have a microphone from there I can hear oh okay can you hear speaking a little all right um 80280 is good 28 an option you want to think about centrally located mass transit right folks getting to from without issue space 85 on Webster right Webster Avenue we haven't been there in a while we used to go there a lot all the time too is uh right right down the from the district office Webster going up the hill the fire department JB between Mar and lebster they have all the temporary units um in the yard [Music] Park what about what about PS fos2 you have the pris right next to it we could use their space as well and then we could also look them in and ask them for donation toys yes 20 does not have a gym or they don't either they have a little bit of outside yes the 52 Jason that doesn't mean they that's true but I hear you it's right there so there's no um I don't know you guys maybe some you've been visiting you want to share maybe some of the newer spaces 3 40 we just used 3 40 for Teacher event and Par use for the emergency so you remember the emergency like an par doesn't have an auditorium but they had a multi purpose room they had that outdoor space in the yard um if you needed the auditorium you could use 95 they're we're gonna be gonna be at RKA coming up people can take a look there on the list I think January either December June somewhere in there February we're going to 81 and then we're going to AR we can also I mean think got the bo you know there's high schools in the district thank you you know we needed like a larger space um we always use in because they just have all of that's a big campus kind of space right so they have that and they always so accommodating but we should try to mix it up um I also don't want to over the in intch right the other thing I'll mention um is that the district team does a December event um what was it called it was like a Music and Arts Festival so maybe you could combine it with the district team and that might be helpful like some of you could sit on the committee for that for the planning for that last year we did it at inch and we did it was like an Arts Festival so we had artwork displayed in the library we had dancing in the gym um we had musical performances in the auditorium so folks kind like a touring go through the building and see all these things the art workor on the way look at all the different ways in which art lives in the district um had student photographers photo document so um just some things to think about the JFK campus right behind there as well has that giant parking lot I don't know if you mentioned High School spaces yeah JFK is good too sorry the echoing of plac um yeah I I think we should think a little bit about you know which schools that you visited that you might that you've already you know um garnered some relationships with to see which principles might be amenable to offering the space because it's about that too obviously it's a weekend right yes Saturday de 7th and the rain date will be the 14th frame the same sign 7 to 14 yeah December 7 or December 14 we used we have Partnerships right with those those schools so even right next door at the Roosevelt campus right next to the district office um they might have' done some things there too like they have a really big Library have a gym in the past the Bronx High School Fair has been held at the Rosevelt campus so it's big enough to to how all of that it could also be the Bronx library use the auditorium and then kingbridge right Bronx library the basement is huge he huge Bon library on kbge the one that turns right there towards for it's not expensive if you know people and you know people so it's not expensive people so it's not expensive okay okay so I just need I heard five five what option yes what did you get 8280 yes 8280 um RK we could go back to um principal meetings no not in it's 344 I don't know if we could go back there so 85 and 85 three yeah that's but like two are connected they like not it's like a small fire stairs to go to the actual to the second and the auditorium is there and across the library yeah I know yeah he knows about I know everybody gets scared when they have like a shoulder when at the beginning in Reservoir but then on the side they have oh yeah you can go from the uh the alleyway and there's s we got some have 8280 RKA and park 85 we all in consensus with this holiday F FAL love that that's a Christmas my ice skating isn't happen that's where you would get people who especially the holiday time people love families and they want to feel togetherness and that's where you're going to be able to network and reach out to people who are at certain times of the year are not feeling the greatest so it's also a mental thing as well because some people don't have families some people do have families they could create a new family they could create a family with us we they new family and I and if we if there's a need we will be able to provide that need during that time and not afterwards and however the election go it will be it would be a celebration you know whe the good or that okay all right thank you council members we going to make sure we get those invites out as the school and whoever first come that's the first that's the school we'll pick and we most likely will have a special meeting in between hopefully everything will be said and done right yes hopefully everything will be said and done before November we have some some kind of solidification because I don't want us to be thinking about this during Thanksgiving especially just securing the permit correct right correct wonderful thank you council members that was a great discussion now we could go to our Treasurer budg and [Music] a as well as cbcs did $25,000 a year the member reimbursement year to date was 1,000 the president's reimbursement year to date was 200 me for the 2use $22 for a toal of $142 that2 as our AA has stressed if you have any reimbursement need to have those in by theth of the month hopefully ear so she can submit them to Theos so that's our budget that lefts over for the year which is [Music] $2,598 as you know sometimes we got to move things around um I would like to um at some point I think about it I found out today that we no longer have privilege to they copy Mach and I would like to until we find vender to make sure that our a have money on her card to [Music] make to get money to her somehow so she can make cop Tak out of heret and that's my report [Laughter] for no we not that's when we um solidify the location we will have a special meeting for moving money around and then doing sub October you know meetings and going here and there having hour meetings just have your your calendar for everything and with I also want to just say with this budget um canone make a motion to um accept the budet that we had now with the necessary Corrections if need there's no correction this is it okay okay this is what we working with thank you our treasur [Music] our I make a motion to approve the budget and expenses report I'm Michelle he second I publicly um made the announcement started I think many mons ago it is important keep in that the information we sh I'm pretty good at numbers and about a year and a half or two years ago I was still the treasure at that time um money from our Council was taken out and given to another Council so I do have a relationship without and I said in one of the meetings to face also when they do the train they also need to include the Treasurer with the AA when they do these Financial I don't have the problem but I'm G find the money but need to be CLE [Music] like so and I do track the uh members so I do a spreadsheet and I have I do track the uh uh council members and how much they did because I was told today that a memb said they didn't receive something and I said well it was too late it was done last year I can't need to have that relationship with Theos and the AA so that we're all on the same and Lauren is pretty good she usually she usually catches things well but that relationship and I'm saying that cross theard not allos work with account I have a good relationship with [Laughter] traff line give out the documentation um I support the AA in in those initiatives and I I do think she said that we're going to move to a more digitized version of everything it's going a little bit more seamless and it allows for expediency so it can get on quickly and um just make it a habit after the meeting to do your paperwork then it gets process for that meeting right away and you don't have to wait and you don't have to worry um because then you run the risk of the budg closing and then not getting the anniversary your expend okay thank you I say this I know some people don't know if you have trouble with a doy reader that's what be used a lot just let us know I hope you with a do leer and get you um you're using that app and it's it's it's a free app and you don't have to worry about learning how to do sign it's it's easyy lety you have to make a motion to our bu meeting now [Music] 853 someone second the meeting to be closed second motion thank you council members thank you everyone online thank you superintendent herand thank you District thank you translators thank you this lot
