##VIDEO ID:-VEk4mab7Vo## just K the budget so one month5 the next month the for the year okay bless bless okay we are going to call the special meeting to order uh going to go through it's really more business meeting um focus as everyone saw but I'm going to call roll call real quick Grace yes Joseph Chow here Alvin here I know Catherine is excused she's at another meeting Charlie here I'm here Bob present John pres okay and is much should be walking in momentarily so the biggest topic right now is that in order to finish ordering the equipment for Egypt to be able to start on time and have equipment when she starts we need to move an additional $90 to our equipment section so we need to just pick somewhere we want to move that from vote on it and then we also need to move more money into the reimbursement section cuz we already started using some of that and we want to make sure that we add to that so that people can get their reimbursements so I would personally say the PE card as I said in the last meeting I think 4,000 of that can move to reimbursements easily um and then I think taking some from meeting expenses we've only spent 310 so far on food so I think if we take easily the 90 from there move it over and then move a bunch more of that into the reimbursements I think we should be pretty close to okay but I know I had emailed everyone I want to see if anyone has any other ideas that they've thought of when they've been looking at it so when we do the hour ceremony where do we use the money from that will come from like the supply line technically dude we did get an answer on what it cost I if I remember correctly right Joe last year what she had spent on the award stuff how much was it she had written back to you can I tell you I don't have it in front of me that's why I'm asking I'm an old man I'll get but it was nowhere near no hold on hold on I guess we could take some off suppes because um do we have like a snack too dur wary we had like a snack the cookies and stuff we put that out or was that the school did that for the award ceremony I think was at that where did we do it last at 25 right I 25 that was the year before no last year we were at oh 194 194 um I honestly I don't remember if they provided it I can ask Miss Miller cuz I don't remember us talking about getting there 550 550 is all she spent on that okay that's what I that's John's daughter that's in the back no my two are in the back and then John's daughter's there too mine is doing homework though okay so let's first find the $90 which instead of putting it desly in the equipment line we're putting in the repair line where do we want to take that $90 from first about supplies yeah okay does can we take a vote on that yes yes because I'm going to do the math right now so 90 okay I'm going to go through roll call just say yes or no if you're okay with you moving it from supplies to repair line isma Joe yes Grace yes Shirley yes Bob yes John Yes Alvin yes and I also yes okay so now we have 6870 there we need to definitely move money from that PE card I would say move 4,000 of that from that right away into reimbursements um how much more do you think we need to put there other than that supplies too we could take away from either meeting expenses or supplies still cuz we definitely have plenty we can move both cuz supplies that don't we used that much I have the breakdown from leis hold that I'm going to take a quick look the supply or list that Louis sent us with things that might be beneficial to us was only under $2,000 yeah so I think we should definitely take from supplies and also meeting expens so what if we took 3,000 from supplies that brings it down to 3870 it's still leave some wiggle room for like if we do like any kind of special event or anything like that that way we still have the wiggle room there how do we need that's what marel is calculating right now um but meeting expenses we're not going to spend 7,000 either so I think bringing that down to like 2,000 even 3,000 should be fair um is there a number that sounds for bring it down to 2,000 you think because if they're doing we're start you have to bring a s I'm pretty sure that it's coming out from the meeting is not a Supply right Supply is just strictly for the words are M needed like materialistic yeah so supplies could be office supplies events I think the swag comes under that stuff also right I'm sorry got okay not counting is that counting what we already have used okay going forward okay okay so I think we have 4,000 we're going to move right away from peard if everyone's okay with that just tell I'm going to go through and just say moving 4,000 to the reimbursement line we'll go to that one next is yes Joseph yes Grace yes Charlie yes Bob yes John Alvin yes okay so I'm going to move the 4,000 there to reimbursement which makes us now have 5,000 250 left there um and then I think if we take about and the be expenses and reimbursements are kind of interchangeable so things can be charged so it could be taken from the media expenses if we need it without having to like move it right so then we should move from the next from supplies because if it stays in meeting expens it's kind of safe at least yeah so I'm thinking maybe take away like 3,000 from supplies to put toward reimbursement yeah okay I'm going to go around if everyone is okay with that we'll do that okay ismat yes Joe yes Grace yes shle yes Bob uh yeah just so I understand so we just added four reimbursed now we're add another three yeah because we need to have more in there okay all right yes okay John Yes Alvin yes okay and I'm yes okay so I think with that I can email over the new one um I'll put the minutes together for Catherine for tonight um so that's it for voting on that right now I think there's nothing else we need to move though right you can think of how much do you have in each line now so now we're going to have the 1778 in equipment the 90 in repair the reimbursement Line is now at 8,250 meeting expenses are still 7,452 Keak card at 500 and supply line went down to 3,9 yeah 3,960 we didn't because if we leave it there it's safe should we need it for reimbursements it's in a safe spot kind of how much was P car again we moved it down to 500 and we moved that 4,000 it's the reimbursement okay I'll send out like the breakdown of it when I send it over also on what we just agreed on to make it clearer you're going need to copy that with it right when I do um y okay um the only other thing that we really wanted to talk about tonight was something that Dr Mike and I were going to discuss with everyone um our district has been chosen as one of a few districts to partake in a special project that's coming up so I'm going to have Dr Mike kind of take away a little bit and just give you guys a little breakdown and we can talk more about it at our next meeting after that yeah so um we've been identified to kind of serve in this space of a of a pilot collaboration project uh between district and CC to really promote this idea of of community where we're working together towards a positive end in some way um so what what it really entails is one first and foremost is this meeting to start engaging in the conversation um but two to identify an area that we believe within our district kind of goals and the vision that we have for the district that we would want to say here are the things that we would want to get accomplished as this community um and you know for for for me um anything connected to our goals makes sense you know uh but I that's not something I would want to say just from my perspective what I think we should do um what Eden and I had talked about to kind of share with you that maybe would be a good springboard for this um would be the work around the uh Wellness day but then after the wellness day it becomes something that we build on on a routine basis to really promote this space of uh a culture of kindness uh respect Wellness through the idea of being physical mentally well um and where it becomes part of what we do now the the what of that we would have to establish um so it can go from having this Wellness day where we're all collaborating working towards that end as a kickoff to what would we want that to be for us as a cc District 25 our our district schools promoting this as an example it doesn't have to be that I just thought because we were going to look towards working together on that it might be a natural in for us to start having deeper conversations around it um but the goal of it really is that we promote a collaborative approach towards uh um connecting with one another which I think I understand why they would select District 25 in my opinion because I do think that we have that ability to work with one another towards a really positive end um and establish something that could be sustainable so it the goal is not just the wellness day it would be around what sustainably would would we want to create that promotes a positive mindset coming from this collaboration between myself and the district and you guys as a PC so that's something that we're kind of pitching I don't know um one what you guys think about the idea of building it towards that idea of social emotional learning Wellness kind culture of kindness um or is there something else that you would say you know what here's something that I think might be a better example of it uh which we can it doesn't have to be an answer right now we just wanted to start the conversation um and then maybe perhaps we can have a little bit of space during the business meeting on Wednesday of next week um to kind of throw around some ideas if it's not that one um I just thought it would be a nice way to kick things off because um it's intended to be a big Community event anyway uh it's part of our district goals and frankly I just think that our kids in our community could benefit from that mindset around a culture of of Wellness uh and all of the things that it could mean there are so many directions that it can go but anyone have any kind of initial thoughts or wonderings around what this pilot is or anything about that any wonderings or just thoughts in general about the idea we're going to be collaborating with another C in the district no this is us this is the work that we choose to do with it um in terms of whatever the collaborative project that's an example it doesn't have to be that so it could be really anything um as a collective group we wanted to see that that collaboration back and forth and you know what I and I were even talking about it could be to a space of when when school visits come up we're going to connect in on so let's talk about the things that we're doing for wellness and how can we help as a collective Community to BU to really build that as an example right um it doesn't it could be anything really along the lines of um the only thing I would say makes more sense is that it's aligned with our goals um as a district community that to me makes the most sense um but any any thoughts I think it would in my opinion I think it would connect um CC not just CC uh Department of Education and parents way better because um I think not just educating Wellness on kids I think we should also educate parents because parents are the ones who could actually directly influence kids when it comes to Wellness so there's only limit that what schol uh and other facilities can do affect the children so I think one Str is Wellness not just towards the children I think we should also promote it to parents so that they could directly utilize what we taught them to their own kids I love that you know it's funny I I was I said this to Eden you know you have meetings like this right sometimes 9 whatever you know night tonight might be 9:00 or where where I walk through the door right my kids might want to talk to me both Emily and Matthew they love their dad time but after the day of from the time I get in maybe 10: to 7:00 I'm talking all day my bandwidth for how much more I can say or even hear is almost pretty much depleted and honestly the more I think about it's just not fair to them because they are waiting for me to to have those conversations but in many cases I'm like guys I'm just not hearing a word that you're saying right and that also sends messages and how do we organize for that even from that space of as adults we contribute to what that that that my my daughter and son might have waited all day to tell me something and my inability at times not to be able to hear it is not a great message to them too you know so I agree that you know it's where do we embed ourselves as as the adults to help build in that too yeah I I love your idea because I wore on the and on soci emotional learning and work with children and always I insist that I can only work with kids if I can work with families because you need children change their mind but that is only possible if they can see in the family yes like a mod because if the values and practice and lifestyle of families go in a different way it's impossible to prect that guys change their Lifestyles too so I love that idea to engage families in Wellness uh philosophy but also like um doing doing uh e a like a changing lifestyles yes to creating uh like um holistic uh way to practice every day so it's not only physical health it's not only mental health it's not only emotional health it's everything all it yes yeah so I love that idea but uh understanding the head like uh holistic approach yeah I love that cuz I learned from the seminar from the pediatric psychiatrist and think that I didn't know when father reads a book to a child is two times more effective than when [Music] Mom I you're not learn that's why I tell my husband you get a reu way more than cuz like these small educations you know as a parents we old parents for the first time so we don't know and I noticed that um my daughter's generation and my generation like that is very different so how they think they respond is I see the difference so I noticed that when I speak with the parents they're like sometimes I don't know what to tell them because it's just so different yeah so like if we do some little educational like um workshop for parents it would be I think big big plus I I learned yeah and honestly those are the types of things that we can come to agreement on you know when do we do those um how frequently um should we do them what is it tied into in terms of the CEC District collaboration um what does it mean for CEC members uh in terms of their connection to um you know all of that stuff we would have to kind of organize around but I think it's a good place to to start because it listen I I I don't know anyone that really has everything figured out completely with their with their kids and if you do amazing congratulations but I can tell you myself as a dad that I'd love to think that but it's not true right there are things that I still have to figure out and do better you know as a parent to help them so um I think it's a good place to for us to start as a conversation um but in general in terms of the pilot is everyone good with us engaging in this type of pilot I mean I think it's a good thing for for our community our next step was to bring it to you guys and the idea and kind of then we can start conversation so we'll definitely a lot time on the calendar meeting uh next week so we can start talking about it more in depth but yeah yeah and I will come up with with some ideas we have a social worker right on our team um that can also assist and support with ideas and Grace with your with your background too I think it would be a really nice way to kind of connect and just start doing some brainstorming around what we can do for the district community in a sustainable way so what they're not looking for us to say is all we did this one of event and we're good it would be really to kind of think about in the longterm way what would we want to have as a routine set of practices that we do as a community to really promote something very positive um and I think that one we have a great Community here to to start organizing in that way but two I think we have a great District Community where they would take advantage of some of these experiences now will everybody no right but I do think that there'll be enough people that would want to say you know what yeah I can benefit from that you know let me go to that meeting that we're having across the street or you know even if it's in a in a zoom space wherever we wind up creating it but I think we'll have plenty of people to do that yes so we're good Everyone likes the idea yeah if we need to plan stuff along that lines um Dr Mike's going to be planning those meetings not the C so it's a separate thing the only other last item that I had was marelle's email to everybody earlier today about a website what explain all right um in importance with the open meetings law whenever um public bodies such as yourself 11 public bodies are using video conferencing such as um hybri meetings you are required to maintain your own website so while I know there's a page on the district website it doesn't satisfy the the requirement the legal requirement of maintaining the website so and there's two ways to go about doing that um one way is to um get a free page and one of you maintain it yourself the AA can possibly I don't know what like if she has that kind of her on that and it's also not like kind of a requirement um and then the other option is to hire a a web designer who you would send all of your videos to you would send your minutes to you would send your agendas to and then I also included some examples of different websites that they've worked on um there is one more opportunity for you to modify your budget um to make a line for that and also I can keep trying to get other vendors if is this a new thing it is not we just we never aware of this until today yeah I was just made aware of it today I never knew it before all the other I mean this is like they do they majority of them do have their own they don't they have like their own you know well I mean if that's really the case then I mean I it would seem to me that that would be an easy thing to add to the admin to do for Egypt to do yeah yeah I just can't guarantee that she has that experience but I mean if it's you know a free site that you know one of us would have I mean you know I don't remember anybody being Web Master in the group so you know it's like that's up to you guys whatever you all decide yeah I mean I mean I could talk to her done it like especially if you have a window still to you can ask her what her capacity talk to her about [Music] it no in like WordPress and stuff it's all click and drag and whatever Louis any recommendations yeah you're echoing cuz both are unmuted so I would I would just use a free Google site so easy your website does not need to be complex you're not selling merchandise just providing the space to drop your information the same information that's on the district version go on that one it'll be exactly but um the it the other issue I have with having a vendor is you're always going to be waiting for them for to make the update it looked expensive when I was looking at the one that you sent us days you need something updated right now the meeting is happening right now so I like being able to imagine and I account okay so we should be good then I think to let egpt do it and like know that we're on the track 100% 100% we're working on getting it up and running and I I can talk the next couple of days and just say hey we would like your help and that there are people willing to teach her um anybody just to clarify yeah so doe doesn't want C see to be put onto the District of that of of that website whenever we hold meetings or whatever we have they want us to use our own separ separate s entity well just but we can also link them to our page so that it's at least visible right yes marabel yeah but just clarify I just want to clarify one piece maybe yeah I think it's just to make sure that you have your this is our entity as the CC um and you know for parents here is our access to the CC but well we'll link it to us so that there's always that constant flow of of information back and forth um you know between both but I I can understand why they would want you know want you guys to have your own um you know quote unquote kind of separate space for your for your work but um it's it's been working the way that it has for a really long time I think just having a natural space for you guys that's linked into our own regular page I think it'll be fine and and the only clarifying thing I want to say is that it's not the do that wants it so it's the state law it's a state law and then my role as a faceon or specialist as they call us now is just to interpret the law and help you all understand it but it's not necessarily us but just St and in terms of budget is this something part of meeting expenses or it's nothing well if we do the free site there won't be any expense to it just be your AA keeping up with it which is the goal of like sounds like everyone to for but okay and here I mean she looks on she's very EX on yeah no she definitely seems I'll talk to her this assume that we change our minds and we want to get the deadline we be under the meeting expenses you have to probably move it last last deadline modifications the end of it wouldn't fit under like commun expense category um I could ask okay we'll see if it kind of if not then next week we might have toose something just in case we decide next week hey we want to change our mind um my only last question for everyone and then I'll let somebody make a motion has anyone not been able to go on and do their C application that would like to still if you're running into any issues can you just let me know I'm not running into issues I okay were you able to finally get on yes okay is anybody else having trouble getting on that's trying to go on guess it was me that's it but you weren't the only one no I wasn't and it's not um I would recommend just testing it test it a few days before the deadline just just in case because it did take over a week for them to fix whatever was wrong with mine what is the when is the deadline February 16th so a few more weeks but if you know anyone that also wants to run make sure they know that the deadline's coming up um and if you're planning to rerun please make sure you have gone on and get your stuff in cuz I know the next president's council meeting I think they were talking about in March they're also going to have candidates forums going on so we'll be speaking at that meeting anyone want to make a motion motion motion there you go thank you thank you guys for your time that was a quick one yeah does anybody need me to sign any forms or does anybody need more forms --------- ##VIDEO progress monitoring and and our goals now that we are in the process of administering the midor assessment uh as soon as we're done with the midor assessment um our teams are going to start analyzing data and monitoring progress from the fall to winter uh the we the areas of focus for our district we have for you know reading K22 we use acadians to um as an assessment uh for reading 3 to8 we use I ready uh math k28 we use I ready math for Algebra 1 grade 8 or we use math uh map uh the window winter window is January 2nd to February 9th um these are uh the goals that we set forth as a district as we analyze data and the same goals are set by each principal in every school building as we analyze data we are going to see how much progress we made towards our Target as our middle ofe Target targets are listed here on the slide I will give you a second a minute or two to look at uh the data I encourage you to um also look at school level data um and and and engage in that conversation with school leadership as well as parents um around around the you know around the progress progress monitoring and and goals as you can see here the first part is the key performance indicator we have the Baseline data is last year's June end of year uh data and this column list the B lists the Baseline data for each assessment acadians and for each subgroup and these are our mid ofe targets that we would like to um meet and this will be the mid midyear progress Target for each subgroup this is our priority three for priority three we are using irating as you can see it is the same structure we have the key performance indicator we have the Baseline data from last year for each subgroup we have the midyear goals and these are the percentages that we would like to uh meet for each subgroup on I ready for priority four our uh we use I ready mathematics these are the subgroups that we're focusing on and these are the midar progress uh midar goals that we would like to meet around I ready mathematics and finally our priority five midyear uh middle of your target is listed below um the Baseline is 85% we would like to meet 87.5% uh for this we use our parent District administered we created our parent survey we look at the parent survey results and we monitor progress based on those results these are the questions that we asked on the survey some of the questions our chronic absentismo progress these are the subgroups that we're focusing on Hispanic our Hispanic black MLL and S swd um special education Learners this is the Baseline data and this is the Target that we would like to hit for each subgroup all right I'm going to stop sharing um do we have any questions hi I have a question quick question um I was just want to make sure that I understood correctly that that that students in K to2 are not doing I ready diagnostic they are for reading for reading we 325 I read 325 Grace 325 so they're doing aadience Acadian that for K to2 okay and what and math is I ready for k to2 math is k to5 i ready yes K okay yeah okay reading for reading we have acadians for K22 for math we have k25 I Math and how are like the so and also but hmh is not a diagnostic that's just ongoing curriculum it's uh it's for end of each month module at the end of each module students receive an assessment to Simply gauge how much of the content or the standard students were able to attain so do parents have access to the Acadian results of course schools should be sharing they should be sending theadi home because I know okay so I got I ready for my older but I don't know if I've seen anything aadience for my younger you can you can definitely contact the principal of that school and they should be able to share with you um any assessment data that you yeah thank you anything else no I just didn't want to give you a lot of uh details on those slides as you know these slides are available on our website you can simply click on the link and access um the numbers but I just wanted you to be aw aware of the of the process H you know like us schools individual schools also engage in progress monitoring they look at their at the end of the year last year they looked at the Baseline that we use that data as a Baseline and then we've been monitoring we looked at our beginning of your data and then we're now looking at our mid midyear data um you know beginning of the year as part of our C we made we created goals and and we are using the I ready and a s to measure progress towards our goals that we set for the end of the year and each school like we are doing at the district level um they're you know closely analyzing data and and and and and monitoring you know the progress that their students are making or if they're not making progress they are going back to the drawing board and and seeing what it is that they can do to make sure that those students are supporting you know receiving the proper support to make those PR the the the goals that were set for them anybody else well as always you can always reach us uh it's you know my email is on the district website it's usar schools.nyc nyc.gov uh you can always email me if you have any questions let let me know Jenny yes thank you so much Mr SAR for sharing all the programs and activities and the data for our district um so as promised we have one of the vendor joining us Taylor Barky from M um mind uh child MIND Institute um so she's working with Title One schools in case some schools are still looking for ideas and suggestions on how to spend that 1% set aside so Taylor bark is here to you know to talk about her program so Taylor thank you so much for taking a time out of your busy schedule to be with us so the absolutely thank you so much for inviting me Jenny and hello everyone I put together a couple of slides here so let me just share my screen and we can go through those all right can everyone see that okay yes great so as Jenny mentioned uh my name is Taylor Bary I'm the director of programs at the child MIND Institute and we do a number of things at CMI um among them we kind of think about our work across three Mission areas so we have care the clinical care that we provide um in our offices and then also in schools during the school day which I'll talk about here in just a second um science everything at CMI is evidence-based so all of our programs include evidence-based um modalities and measures to um establish the efficiency and um impact of the programs and then also education we really want to make sure mental health and learning disorder education is available to families all over the world so we have a really in-depth um library of resources both um to read and and videos to share as well and those are available on our website atch childmind.org in multiple languages so what I'm here to talk about today is our school and Community programs Department um and so we have a team of clinicians that go into schools during the school day to offer support to students so we started out in 2012 um following Hurricane Sandy we started with um providing trauma support in schools and then our programs grew over the years so at this point we offer our um original trauma program that's available for students in um grade K or excuse me K grades 3rd through 12th um and then we also have our Behavior program so that's for younger grades um K first second sometimes third um kids who have trouble um with attention you know staying in their seats in class um and and we also have a live uh teaching or teacher component um to support with classroom management um then we also have a mood program for students in middle school and high school who struggle with um mood regulation peer relationships decision making um we have a reading intervention for students in the younger grade so first and second grade students who are behind grade level in reading and then this year we're also offering individual treatment so the first four that I mentioned are all group based we can have students um between four and six students in a group um but then we also have one-on-one um counseling support for students as well and as I mentioned earlier CMI is very focused on um evidence based programming and so we do see um an improvement in the signs and symptoms that um students were referred with into our programs by the end of the intervention um they do have a reduction in um symptoms and they have um better coping skills um and increased literacy skills in our reading program so those are the services that we provide our clinicians provide they come into the schools they do those during the school day but then we also have a team of clinicians that train um School Professionals in those exact programs so that school staff can train their or excuse me so that school staff can support their students um independently so all of the same programs that I just mentioned our reading program mood trauma behavior um we also have a mental health skill building curriculum for just more of the focus on coping skills um like mindfulness identifying emotions relaxation social problem solving um and so in addition to just kind of meeting with either a school or a community or a district to get a Readiness assessment and kind of A needs assessment of the community we do the the training either virtually or in person and then we really have a comprehensive uh consultation model um and lots of different resources on our training platform we really want to make it engaging and we really want trainees to feel supported along the way um and so we have a lot of great consultation um available through the clinicians that do the trainings and and um Not only would you have support in a cohort that you participated in the training with but then you'll also be able to connect with other cohorts who are going through consultation as well so I know that was a really brief overview of a lot of different um pieces of information um so I'm happy to take any questions if folks have them um I'm also happy to send over the slide deck or other resources um for folks to look through um if if they would like as well great well you can always reach out to Jenny I think if if you do have questions about um the child of mine Institute or school and Community programs and we'd be happy to send over more information and it's okay to share your email address where our parent leaders correct yeah that's totally fine okay if anyone have any question this is the time to ask now great well thank you so much for having me and um was there a question okay I think we're good okay great okay thank you so much thank you everyone yeah thanks for having me have a good evening happy New Year happy New Year okay let me pull up my slide again give me one second share okay so we just had have Taylor Barky so so this is for parent leaders so last last month we have Elevate we had to B revas from Elevate joining us and this time this month we have child M Institute Taylor bar joining us in case you are still you know searching for ideas on how to spend the title one money um so um very excited we are you know at all Title One schools have a chairperson alternate or secretary at the this District level we also need to have a one of you so we're very very excited that we have a full team we have Mr Mitchell our chairperson we have Katherine our alternate and we have pristo Gonzalez our secretary so I'm very very excited to have you all joining us tonight um this is a list I mean I've been showing this on every single PowerPoint but this is just to have it on our PowerPoint this is a list of all our power Title One schools we have 30 of them out of 3 four schools 36 schools total but two of them are preas Center so we have 30 schools out of 34 schools who are um Title One schools um let's talk about elections so we talk about CEC elections so CEC elections officially launched on January 13 following the Chan's announcement during the press conference on January 8th and all parents can apply via Nexa account the NYC schools account current C council members who wish to rerun are also encouraged to reapply to apply the application uh period runs from Monday January 13 to February 16 so we have a little bit of like two weeks a little bit more than two weeks left if you want to nominate yourself please apply after this candidate form will be held candidate forms are hosted by the president's councils where candidates will introduce themselves and answer a series of questions prepared by the president's counc Council this form will allow the community to learn more about the candidates before making um voting decisions the voting period will run from mid April to miday and the result will be released announced in June so what do CC do here um we have both Citywide and Community Education councils they perform a VAR variety of uh important task including working closely with the superintendent approving zoning lines hosting town halls with the chancellor organizing legislative breakfast with elected officials and community members to discuss concerns uh these elections are very very important because the EC council members advocate for students families and schools and they will be the voice of your District so who elects um council members we do parents do if you have a um student if you have a child in a public school you are eligible to vote and elect council members um how do you apply for cc to apply you must have a Nexa account and NYC schools account parent can use this account not only for the C elections but also to access your child's report cards grades attendance and so much more um so your eligibility depends on your child's district and program your child is enrolled in if you have a child if you have children in different districts like for example if you have a child in District 25 and a child in District 26 you can vote for both councils and you can run for both councils but you can only serve on one so you when you apply you have to indicate your District preference if you get elected you will be holding a seat for the 2025 to 2027 school year is a twoyear terms um I've been talking and I've been I forgot to change my slide so you see the time slide that we just uh went through so the last day to apply is February 16 and then uh voting period will be around mid April to miday uh so these are all the uh all the duties the CEC councils do and I just mentioned a few examples and we have more listed here on this list um voting community okay so we're talking about how to apply we have to apply through Nexa account and this is if you have two children one in District 26 and one in District 25 for example you you can run for both and but you can only serve on one so this is a data this is a data for showing for our district 25 although the data doesn't seem so the Orange shows how many parents we have in our district the blue color shows how many people voted so even though the data shows a little bit low we are still one of the top performing districts in term of voter turnout compared to others so parents who are interested in running but has question about the CC and its role the best way to learn is by attending one of the monthly CC meetings to observe the council U members in action or by reaching out to one of the C council members directly the next CC meeting is um we have a monthly meeting the next one is feary uh 5th it's every it's a one on a Wednesday at 700 p.m. is a hybrid meeting um all council members must attend in person to meet the Quorum but if you are um if you want you can listen in Via a hybrid link that you can uh that we have on our d25 website tonight we also have a cc meeting it was a special meeting so those can also appear on the calendar if you are not running for the C another way to support is to cast your vote during the voting period so we are looking forward and hoping we have more parents voting then only 1,559 this this uh this year um any questions so far about the CC application and its role we do have a c members on this call Katherine is also a CEC members so if we have any question we are you know we can always ask Kine okay so let's talk about the CPAC update so every month the CPAC um are holding a meetings by Central and uh we are trying to um attend the meeting as much as we can it's open to um me and it's open to our um dpack chair um person Chris and Katherine and and Crystal so this month they were sharing about these four different tools that schools are using and I'm going to just explain a little bit about what each tool or platform does for the school so spci stands for parent leadership contact information uh it's a compliance tool to collect all parent leaders uh name contact information and P financial report it captures all the information as the SL SLT members and p interium uh financial report which is due two times a year one in January and one in June and then the PC see the parent coordinators are responsible to submit all these parent informations the p uh financial report and to update them as parents are graduating out or we have new members attending joining the team this information would be uh share with everyone from Central and face face is family and Community engagement Who oversee uh me and my team so they will have access to these compliance items as well um and then we have parent leaders external email accounts I assume most of us know what it is now or everyone should know by now it was launched in the early of 2024 school year so by Fall by Fall 2024 everyone was asked all the parent coordinators was asked to issue an account for our parent leaders parent leaders are paapa executive board and our Title One schools P chair people p chair members um so this account will allow you to have access to Google app including Gmail meet drive documents slide and sheet that we use on a daily basis for our work and you you will also have access to Microsoft apps including word excel and PowerPoint and and zoom account which is on time unlimit if you are non doe staff if you CLI if you are sign into Zoom it's limit to 45 minutes but because you have the doe external email accounts you have unlimited Zoom you know you can have meetings doesn't doesn't um doesn't have any any limit um and then we have NYC schools account Nexa we call that Nexa it's all about your CH children so with this account you can access your report the child's report card assessments region attendance B bus route if your child have a yellow bus and College and Career um which which is one part where parents can go in and read and then um it will give you a lot of information so you can have a great conversation with your child uh child at home about College and Career and you can also as a parent you can also update your telephone number on inside Nexa account it will reflect in ATS and then everyone will have your up most up to- dat phone number um but if you want to update your uh home address that's none of these add tools that's something you will have to go through the school secretary they will be the one of in your home address and then we have the I portal I plan portal is to is also a compliance tool to uh capture all our Title One information such as um Title One elections the annual Title One meeting date uh the meeting Quorum our title one pack uh chair members and this one uh set aside spending plan and so much more so that's where um where where we go in and update our your information into I plan portal uh all parents should have a viewable access to the I plan portal so if you do not have access to view the information you can friend uh gently you know uh request it by asking your school principal any questions so far no and then um Mr sarin already went through all the um District events so all our events are posted on our school we our district website so if you go to d25 NC you'll see and go under event you'll see all our upcoming events and he also just mentioned about the math night that was held at ps229 these are just my photos from my camera from my phone so I was like you know what let me share these photos um we have over 200 parents participating parents were very happy they have to guess how many candy those uh the candy jar has if you guess it you input it into your QR Code by the end whoever who get closest to that number get a raffle I would say parents were more excited than children they were like almost counting those candy um and then you can also uh sign up by subscribing to our you know newsletter this way you will be receiving reminders uh next C council meeting is uh February 5th so if you would like to learn more about C before running please join and as I said um count it's a hybrid meeting all council members meets in person to um to uh count the Quorum but you can attend by listening in Via a hybrid link next president's council meeting is um Fe February 24th we just had one few days ago um this is where all the P executive board members they meet and discuss and get updates and then this is for the deac um meeting this is uh we came up with um the meeting dates for the remaining of the school year thank you to our DPAC members Mr Mitchell Crystal and Katherine for meeting with me and coming up with these date so this is the date all set for this school year we had to alternate between Wednesdays and Thursdays because everyone is very very busy with their you know schedules so by alternating hopefully we will have more parents joining on different days you know different things so we've been alternating between Thursdays and Wednesdays but we've been keeping it as the last day of that month either last Wednesday or last Thursday of that month because we don't get the CD pad updates till that La the day of that last day either so it would be great to have some update from the city pack city city pack and then you know give you guys the update on that same week um so Elevate came last month and then this this month have ch Institute we might not be able to um have more vendors come in since we are you know it's the the deadline to uh spend the 1% setti side is approaching so we might not have it won't be relevant for us to have them come in anyway but we will be working uh but I will be trying to have more you know bands coming for our next school year next season to have more ideas you know um next month's meeting will be Wednesday it's a Wednesday February 26 at same time 6: p.m. let me stop sharing to see if anyone have any questions about our meeting dates anything that we discuss any about C elections anyone any questions no okay I think that's um then we'll see you all next month on the 26 thank you everybody thank you so much you thank you all for your time going to stop sharing
