meeting's over now we will go into our reg counil meeting callice everyone's here as far as Council being held on January 27th 2025 in compliance the open Mee act meeting have been provided to the Press Atlantic City The Daily Journal as well as been post the board of bur Hall um just a couple brief points I want to just mention that we have had our second um finance committee meeting this evening we formulating our 2025 budget um committee's going through line item by line item to try to get to the best most reasonable tax rate that we possibly can achieve as you know things have gone up inflation and everything else uh could be pretty hard to avoid a total um tax um increase but we're working on the best we can to to get it to a place where we feel management for the taxpayers and I just have one other order of uh that I want to share with you I do have a a quick update regarding the U Route 40 project um right now on Route 40 what we've been seeing a lot of work in the surrounding area and in that area it's called the route 40 resiliency project it's a federal drainage uh contract and project that actually is involving two other R routes New Jersey 41 1 and New Jersey 42 uh they have completed the 41 project and likely will be completing the NJ 42 by the end of the week uh one crew is currently on US Route 40 you back this the township and heading our way while the second crew is heading in another Direction so they're still on target they told me for a 200 summer of 25 to get the conceptual plan done they said that other end will probably help out with the drainage but that's separate than what they've uh committed to the committed project and I talked to John today from sbly Hutchinson's office that's going to be a major major drainage project that we've never seen in the history of the barel so hopefully that coming down Route 40 to Central to Kimber Lane all the way to Brewster we within the next couple years we're going to see that those problems away so I was left with that encouraging news today that's all I have on on my report at this point in time public portion of the meeting five minutes for for speaker um I need to open the public portion of the meeting motion motion Andor second bar roll call vote yes jzi yeah alare yes Adam yes yes okay at this point in time anyone wishing to address the mayor and Council please come state your name for the record please good evening uh my name is Richard MDA um I just had a question about Park last fall I was coaching uh 12 U softball and we have a group chat for all the coaches and we have a Google Document online that's our scheduling it has all the games What fields they're in and it gives you to reserve field for practices so uh when the season got started I was told we were all told a group chat that baseball had the Back Field which is our shared field for softball baseball it was reserved Monday Wednesday Friday for baseball okay um but what I found out later on in the season was that it wasn't for our W baseball it was used for travel baseball um I had to take many of my practices all the way com Elementary there's no lights it's not as good of the field in the fall it gets a dark early so I was just curious if this is what was going on are We renting our field the travel teams I me just want to know what's up well again um Mar is the head of recreation from Council and L on the commission I just met fact Council woman and or met with me though so I I believe I could take this one mat you were with me yeah I I talked to the new president uh Mr M and also Jason Myers and we assured them that uh we will they came they're the priority they have first dibs at everything and we're not entertaining any travel teams so councilen in the you were at the Mee Marina couldn't be with us that day but um they got our word uh we're trying to work on some projects together with them to make the fields better we're going after some grants to work in cooperation in fact we're going after a big one to do redo all the lighting the poles as you know they're in pretty rough shape so we are going out there for real big Grant we're working with Andrew's office we're also working with the state of New Jersey uh governor's office so we are on it uh as far as travel teams again we just had a meeting Pat went Thursday keep it local want to keep it local want to keep it did had inquiries we've had inquiries and Mar has responded that and dein them because we don't have the fields for what we need to right we're trying to grow ourselves right I agree 100% we don't have the work Workforce also yeah so kind reing all of that we're trying our best so that's where we're okay thank you okay you're welcome just one thing I think I mean Ronnie said the same thing to me about having the problem I think it something's got to be worked out between baseball and softball about sharing that field and if you have a problem where you got to shoot to Connells lakes or you got to go someplace else and baseball's got the field three days a week I think it should be shared three days a week you and two days a week them and and back and forth so so it's fair for girls along with boys am I understanding Council know is The Bu a baseball softball league correct I mean the president and an executive board that meet in Lou Vil Center they're in charge of not only the the Youth Softball also correct as far as well I think Amber is the head of the softball okay but she works in con conjunction with run together so I think that they they work that out together what what I'm saying I heard the same thing from somebody else that's coaches along with Mr morala okay clarify Thursday is the the meeting for the league at the senior center Thursday evening yes um and I agree that there is a little disparity in field usage between baseball and softball baseball has three designated Fields softball has one designated field and there's a Shar field okay um yeah we don't have as many teams as hard ball but our softball league has grown significantly over the years and we got a lot of girls that come out and play and they want to play right that's what something I would bring up to the league officials in fact day I'm going there to offer my services to redo the Mounds our MS in this off is pretty sad yes that's all okay thankk anyone else from the public hi on behalf of the B Republican League I would like to thank Joe baroi for coming out of retirement to help make buur a better place at the time in our was struggling to
