approve the treasures report and pay bills inter office second alen Hurst yes Asbury Park yes you yeah L yes Garber yes and ocean yes okay good okay um this our going board to Grant with State the new one she've been driving on for over a year with insurance and other things we've done I believe we've done everything we need to do uh to move out I don't have the final occation I told them today you call back um but I believe I signed it Jesse signed it CFO has set his paperwork in and we're just waiting for the final bill ahead from the state so hopefully we get that I hope it next week I'm sorry Don what was signed what did you say was signed we signed the agreement online it's it's a digital it's a digital signature that we for the njd you mean we did it in December did DEC before help so um we wanted to do while we were in commission 2025 so we did that um and it was no the state of New Jersey basically was off so they didn't get to see it U got a lot of return addresses they're on vacation so that's fine but you know they're back I know we had one email from the state on the old Grant the other day which was good that was they're working they review on our documentation that Ricky s so that's that's on old Grant so that's I think a payback about $45,000 for things we have submitted so that's on the old old so hopefully we'll see that mother too but on the new Grant yeah we should be able to give let give a little update so everybody's comfortable with where we've lost about they did have an email to you Don um asking if we wanted to extend the time praying for the project and I suggest you respond to it a favorable um where we're at is they did allow us to commence work on the project before the AG was signed that's not normal but they said it in their cover letter when they granted the agreement and so we took advantage of that we did some field work we plotted a preliminary plan drawing around the access road of CB sare mall we show several modified storm water management basins and we show revised um storm water management facilities coming into those basins whether they be storm sors or Technic devices hard structures or soft structures we are going to collect the runoff from the mall parking area um treat it before it goes into the access Loop Road and then provide a series of basin and changes to the water patternn so when that water goes through uh see G M Property crosses the county property crosses Route 35 to go toward ter pond it's in a much better condition than it was when it started okay so that's the intent um we have more field work to do and I know uh Jeanie asked if we could have a presentation I would say probably a few more months and we'll be ready so we'll have a set of plans to review with the public and with the commission before we move into the preliminary design I'll say preliminary design a preliminary bidding phase we want to push it we don't want to slow down and we could take the Commissioners out there to oh you know it's a great project we can take Park High School out there taxol there you know it's a great project it's really stand by or you go into the M County area go park it's that that that drainage area there see yeah yeah so we're looking forward to this one it's something that should been done oh yes 50 when it was built will reduce the amount of siment entering into the lake too yeah it's tremendous amount I used to go Tois I used to go to chrispy's restaurant for uh Club Ms every Thursday look out the back window and the Stream flow was dark BR coming from here CL and it's not like that anymore but it has to be controlled because there's still a lot of set and and it's you know it's all on tune because folks down CL like their section of L drain ter C dredge but you really can't dredge until you slow that water you got slow positive project so look forward to there there is activity up at the forth between 66 and Asbury Avenue they digging basins does this does that have anything to do with us or no it has to do with the Route 66 widening far SM management plan isn't it for theirin like Jas well seen yeah they cut I heard they cut the trees down right there so I I just two questions Peter um excuse me just to clarify did you say that njde asked if you wanted to extend the time and is is that correct did I hear that yes that's what they said okay and um then also they are they are allowing you to begin the project they did that long time yeah they allowed us to Begin work on the project when the July 2023 Grant agreement was received right and then they went into this new type of review where they required a variety of different U administrative oversights than they ever had before Steve and I oh okay I I guess I misunderstood I thought that things were on hold until those things were me no they did stop us but we we had considerable work okay great not work it was you engineering work planning engineering plans right okay thank you okay thank you um du Life protection education I've been talking about this and it's a it's a Never Ending Story with the D I think J you're got you still have the B this right um yeah I haven't heard anything since I reported to you last month on my contact with them them but I will reach out again I'm going to write again and see and I'll copy to you so you see it see what happens um do you want me to talk about the mammoth County Department of Public Works that part I I got that coming okay um the reestablishment of the joint meeting it's reestablished as of last night about or yesterday around three o'cl 3 o'cl so I thank asur for that vote it was a lot of our work with jeie myself and Carol um we did we did a lot of solar searching a lot of uh couple a zoom meeting or two and uh we got amendment that you guys all have that an amendment two that Asbury picked up on um and they picked up a couple things which the mayor did a great job reviewing it and you know rather have't do it in July but that's okay you know logistically things got fouled up and you know we learned a lesson we learned a couple lessons on on TR correspondence and and you know tracking tracking corespond everything well but you know sometimes things get lost so we're going to do things different next time and hopefully they will they will do it on this test 10 years from now this next Amendment but we said use new process where we just ask return receive request and we know the first who got right who received which would be great yeah because the process works really well really good some Personnel changes which they did any it worked out um Mayor found some real interesting things and and we made some interesting Chang es if you guys have talk about next meeting I'll share it with Mr fcoa and let him go over make sure we're doing the right thing and then move on we will'll probably end up having to have team a team sit down with the current document the three two current document the amendment and the old document and and and come up with a final one so in nine years or 10 years we have one document they can modify and digitally to I think that's 4 because we actually started with the wrong digital copy that's that's what F and it was only it was only a couple keywords that were they were twisted and but some of the words were there forever and nobody really knew the intern pack there was a the big was two-thirds of of the budget number um talking about expenditures and it was it was quite interesting because it's it says I'll just read it um major Capital expend not included in the budget must be approved by 2/3 majority consent of the members of the commission well that means five members of seven can spend a million dollars and charge two other towns that'll get benefit so and they would have been voted on by the Commissioners not by the corre and there were some other issues about you know talking to the towns um but we modified that said major Capital expenditures not included in the budget activities or or not part of state federal or private Grant must be approved with exent running by the governing bodies of all municipalities right so that's right and we threw in the the grant information because we get grants there's no reason to run back to the towns and answer commission since the commission has the right to gather grants and do work on Lake which everybody would be happy for that's our that's our mission is to to improve the L well that am that that amendment was approved no that was not approved that is we had not approved this okay we still have to we still sit down with Mr ponac Cola and and Jesse and get the final copy out to all you guys and and next meeting we can vote on it and then then we'll then we'll send it out to each for correction so right the other Amendment Amendment one which was talking about voting rights I think that was approved by almost all the towns now right yesterday yeah I heard they all on the agenda always that's great are moving over okay um update on asri Avenue project with County just um just to give everybody or who might not know background um the Asbury Avenue Bridge over Hollow Brook had um issues that I contacted the mammoth County Department of Public Work Works what had happened originally was they paved that bridge and then um they left old non-compliant drains open right next to the new compliant drains there were other problems that you couldn't see from the top of the bridge but anyway water couldn't flow under the bridge from Hollow Brook either so last year um well I I no year more than a year ago I met with the um principal engineer from um MCT DPW and he went out and got off the bridge and looked on both sides and anyway they um we could he could see that the water wasn't flowing under the bridge from hollowbrook so they removed sediment and debris that had accumulated under both sides of the bridge and one of the drains had no outfall so they tied one drain this was more recently they tied one drain without an outfall to a drain that had an outfall to help pull some of the water through and then they began to develop a scope of work to rehab the Culvert so they don't clog up when there's a heavy rain and there's some I don't know what exactly what's wrong with the head walls but they need work too so um anyway and of course they the the drains need to be covered with some kind of grading to catch the debris the old drains the old non-compliant ones from entering um they need to be Co covered with some kind of grading to catch the debris from entering the water below so what they're working on now and the report that I had as a promise from the principal engineer two things would happen before Memorial Day one they will submit the Aur Park Bridge Project as a candidate to be included in the County's annual maintenance contract list that's once they get their scope of work together and then they will install this is going to happen soon as soon as Winter's over they will install grading over the non-compliant drains to catch debris from entering the water below um the other thing I spoke with him about was I had contacted him you remember how the wikip peka bridge used to look like on the western side with the broken concrete and the right sidewalk that was buckled and then that woman fell I had sent him photos of the bridge before the woman fell on that bridge and was injured um so he had that information in a narrative I'd sent him about it so as soon as that soon as she fell I contacted him again and said you have this report now somebody's been hurt and as we anybody who's walked over the bridge lately knows they came right away they ripped out the old sidewalk and put in new it's not still other work to do there but at least it's safe to walk across now I'm happy Got a Hold That Never wor yeah than thanks that's great news that is actually great news so well see hopefully we he's got till Memorial Day to keep his promise so is that the exia bridge yes the it's well I don't know if that what they call it I call it the avenue bridge that go chur there's not yeah there's not much a it's an interesting location let's that's what bridge would that be the name of it I don't know I never a hollow Brook it's a Park Avenue it's a pipe it's all this pipe um and it's it's it's very interesting how it goes it's a water flow from the section of of Neptune on it right and it it should well you know Brian's here he knows what it's like back there actually there's less water flowing now because of the yeah a lot less water going in I've noticed that during storms it's not as it's not I don't know Brian has noticed that but he can answer that question during the public session okay uh thank you very much number five um we got to remember to this is a note for CFO we have to remember to pay the steward jues and I got a friendly reminder vetos comeing to break my legs if we don't T so yeah I told they were very considered like it goes it takes a long time I I I they're all business this this agenda was just put together today so I think Jesse should be apped we getting this together for such a short okay new business is that the only one applauding hold on hold on any other old [Music] business Steve any business no we we're going to do the same thing that we did last year the year before a success the goose remediation we'll take it over yes and amount not to exceed 4,800 I sent everybody The Proposal did you all get it yes I'm sorry I can't speak for everybody yes so I offer okay second Queen second so we're going to do the USDA 2025 season 48 Alan as par yes you yes yes yes and yes question Happ next I don't know they did back did you hear that jie no I couldn't hear anything was reappointed for so we'll see maybe he has to be that's great good okay did you what did you say I'm sorry Eric hotelling has been appointed the oh awesome that's great that's great he's back in the Y yay back in the game Yes the band is back together okay let's do we done with that uh any other new business we have a lot but I'm not going to talk next um commission's last word let's start my left here oh no I'm not B nothing new going on Happy New Year happy year Marg um glad to be here happy New Year um do thank all always working on making sure my residents realize how much their actions at their own home affect the lake in the ocean and also with everything that's been going on in the past weeks and I moved here from Los Angeles my husband went to school and lived in alabu for many years and my and deake has been in my house it's not a bad idea to have your go bag and a plan because I have had mandatory evacuation at my house three times in the past 21 years so I encourage everyone to make a plan yeah and particularly in lock Arbor along the lake and asry along yeah yeah and you know what it's a it's for we worked on with the ber PR just folks because we all talk about it we now we know we have we get Sam Actually we have we have a bunch you know provid some attach we get more but everybody individually individ has also people were going through their their fire boxes after to go through the fire and fire box burnt the shreds they were going through their their their their all their their contracts all burnt the passports burnt I mean there fire boes it's like we should put all you know put Pap don't put them upstairs where they're going to be falling down and hitting and breaking open may put theare important stuff in an old file cabinet garage just because yeah digitally obviously a great thing so and also the what I mean we've been fortunate we haven't had a real Hurrican here so we Andy was number three on all but in terms of having safety bags and stuff my it's been what 10 12 the destruction destruction yeah Sandy was really this area destruction fall down what's out there the map of just the pal the Pacific fire it took went from a Long Branch and big swap through ocean t all the way to wall and and up it was insane insane and just wants to say I a plan for your animals too there was a lot of there was horrible stories was a lot of good stories of good stories too find around yeah that's very good thank you and like when there was for instance um give a shout out to wonder and that big building and Ocean Grove burn down the the Wonder Bar was like please bring dog food please bring dog beds like the first aid Squad was taking care of the hum and the Wonder Bar did what they could for their pets oh she's so nice's awesome okay well the Happy New Year to everyone and let's see if we can have another good year with the CLA commission and we can accomplish more than we did last year hopefully J um well I I just wanted to mention I think everybody received the business cards that we sent uh don delivered some and I sent some out um the the da commission business cards that have the QR code encouraging people to um to get on to the email to subscribe to our email list and I'm I'm bringing it up because I think if everybody would help a little bit with getting more people subscribed it would help us to get our message out especially educational messages that go out with the newsletters twice a month like um for instance this month well if you probably just saw it it went out this week about um deicers and the kind of that kind of harm that they cause the lake and um so you know every month there's little educational pieces and Margo's talking I I agree you know these are these are things we can send out to people and remind them about but it we the more we grow our email list um and that way we can direct people also to our website or Facebook page the more they're they're they're going to buy into the kinds of things we're trying to do in terms of you know they'll have a better understanding of how they can participate because it can't just be us no you're do agree with that how how how many uh I I think we should have have a lot more people we have 340 people subscribed but you know we could really grow it for one thing whenever we send anything to the newspapers about cleanups or any any notices of meetings uh put that in the newsletter put that in that information to the newspapers um but if every commissioner just kind of go around if you we have lots of those cards so anytime you want more cards just Don's got some I have some there in sometime and they're very easy just people just you know you know how a QR code works you hold your phone to it and it'll take you right to the site you subscribe so it I think it's important um and I'm just stressing education as we start getting into the um the grant further Peter was talking about involving high school students which is awesome um but again you know it's another education piece that helps us to do what our um you know our mission which is part and part of it is to help uh you know get the message out to the community as to how they can help the lake too so that's my pitch okay I just want to say Happy New Year I'm very happy to be here with everybody tonight and I look forward to working together over the next year to do even better things for the lake and to celebrate the remarkable 50-year Partnership of all seven municipalities that yes we're going to see 60 wasn't sure that so that's all but you know I think we again happy New Year me it was it was a tough a couple weeks if not month um with wrangling wrangling things and and really you realizing that we you know we weren't perfect and uh others were perfect either but you know we all we're all we're all in perfect and we're all better and we we're going to have a better commission for it and a better organization um that makes you stronger makes you sane but it all worked out you know the best thing I the whole time was I had two great conversations with mayor as I think they were they were great too bad we you know we do it earlier but I they were great conversations I appreciate mayor Bo um and that's it let's uh let's get along so let's open this to the public do we hear a motion to open to the public make a motion to open it to the public all in favor public how we doing yes thank you Don uh and good evening uh to Don and the Commissioners and thank you for the opportunity to comment as a former commissioner representing inner Laken I know well how much work it takes on the part of the commission to maintain and sustain our beautiful deal Lake as someone who is on the lake regularly at least when there's no ice I value and appreciate almost every day the work that you all do so thank you for your efforts congratulations on a successful year just completed and best of luck to you as you continue your fine work U maintaining and sustaining deal Lake thank you very much thank you thanks anybody else you know I have something to say Don because you asked me but uh the um Bri of art Ocean Township New Jersey um there's less floatables coming into the lake but there's still seems to sediment coming in because it changes color during every heavy storm and the Ducks now walk across the lake on Hollow Brook yeah it's it we're not and I want to say like probably 12 years ago I took the canoe out in the back there and you could stick The Ore down before you hit any ground and now I watched them walk across right it's filled in rapidly in the past five years probably right right and also the new bridge on uh on um over Hollow Brook which is wikip I I thought for years that whatever that fish ladder is is completely installed improperly there's no way any fish are getting up that ladder who inst it's well when who installed that do you know the county with the bridge oh oh wow water runs down it fish don't run up well problem is yeah there's not enough sustained flow on the ladder to you know for the fish to make it up right you have to have sustained flow and you're right you know and as Brian pointed out it was never never constructed correctly I don't know who designed it for the county but yeah better call the priest duck walking across the water l that could be a miracle or it's just you know it's all the sediment it's they they're they don't have to swim across it's it's really just a moat are they happy ducks or they they sad Ducks yeah they're the ones that need to be removed the geese I'm sorry Canadian geese oh the geese okay I know you guys have problems and actually no if we could do something because there are two houses that the past two years I guess the the the state employee couldn't get access to their property and they have multiple geese nests on them I don't know if there's a way that we can put um something in their doors to let them know to something we can do something sure we can do something yeah if you can give me the addresses yeah yeah we can mail them we we could do preemptive strikes of them yeah that'd be great we've talked about doing that um so that's a good idea good reminder I should say we have a list but you know the way it is now I guess you probably know this Brian when when either the um uh either the girl that goes around on the lake she finds them she finds them or you can report it you know to us and we tell her she'll say she's gone to the door of those homes but they never and I left my phone number for Lor to call me and I to call that as to whether the town be or not you want there's a bre down on the S turn by Ripa that's she you're number two right Ripa yeah two number two rip and there's you know large tree broke debris they they drive out of the stream and it's kind of is it on your property or is it down no it's it's on it's on our property yeah so they're wondering the town would come down and grab it yeah so um you want to ask yeah ask Steve's gonna ask again but Steve did ask it looks like they would have to get a winch and cable and pull it up right
