for our elect officials the business the churches the families the individuals that makes the town the great place that it is we thank you tonight God for this your servants I give you thanks for the way of the service that they have chosen to take upon on behalf of all of us here we pray for wisdom for strength for courage to do what it's right and good for the members of this community may they put the interest of others above their own may they act with love for the common good we ask God to help you engage in meaningful conversations and grow closer as a group we ask God to help you listen little late that's because I was reading the wrong agenda it's okay thank you to everyone that came out tonight thanks to Senator Troy Singleton for taking the time out of his busy schedule to be here tonight and swear the three of us in we truly appreciate him and all that he does for our area thank you to our family and to our friends that are here tonight supporting us thank you to my husband of course for being by my side and supporting me in this new role thank you to my fellow committee members for voting me in as Delano's next mayor in 2025 and of course thank you to our residents for electing me to this committee position in 2022 thank you without this vote of confidence it would not be possible it's truly an honor and privilege that I will continue to work in moving Our Town forward and making it the best it can be this is my third year on Township committee and I have learned so much about local government in these two short years mostly I've learned to have patience because nothing in government happens quickly I really appreciate the administration and the staff members always taking the time to explain things to me to help me understand the processes on how local government operates throughout the next year I will work with our administration department heads and professionals closely to establish more effective communication and processes to make sure we are operating to the best of our ability to serve our residents since I was a little girl I've always asked questions I always want to know how things work and why you do things in a certain way I think I drive my husband crazy because I do the same thing to him when he does something but ultimately this is how you learn this is how you grow as a person and how you become an effective leader when they asked me in high school what I wanted to do when I grew up I always said I wanted to be the CEO well hopefully my 16-year-old self is proud of me and whereever I am today I'm proud to be the squeaky wheel Richard but enough about me let's talk about what we did as a as a committee in 24 it was an exciting year we accomplished many of our goals because of our healthy financial situation we did not have to we did not have to increase taxes for our residents we were we were able to start the long awaited seaw wall and park project along the Waterfront in front of zerber mansion as you can see the sea wall itself is finished and the park has an estimated completion date of early July that's Scot har it's going to be done by July we received our grant funding for the historic fill remediation necessary at our property along the creek at 20 200 Ash we also approve an exciting Park design for the site with the help of our awesome planners the bab Ruth complex has a new basketball court that's been resurfaced parking lot paved and walkway installed to the baseball field this allows for easier access for disabled residents for parents with strollers and for kids with bikes this was a project that we received grant funding for in 23 and we still have a few things add to complete this project and will be hopefully completed in the spring at the Field of Dreams complex we received a grant from the state of New Jersey with the help of Senator TR Singleton to install lights at our soccer field that project was completed in August and our soccer teams really enjoyed and appreciated playing Under The Lights we also repaved the access road installed a new fence and had the sheds and concession stands repainted it really looks nice out there and finally on the park front we opened public access to Hulk Island which is the goal of this committee for the past few years this this year will be another busy year in our parks and projects moving forward and we couldn't be more excited to be able to offer this new and improved facility to our residents here at the municipal building we installed these huge AC acoustical sound panels and upgraded our microphon so it was easier for the audience to hear us in the courtroom we continue to stream our committee meetings on YouTube and post them for our residents to replay at their convenience we even started a Delano Township Facebook page we upgraded technology that included new and faster computers and did many things behind the scenes our Police Department welcomed several new officers and said goodbye to some due to retirement thank you Chief Adam tiller for your many years of service and we wish you well and all the best in your well-deserved retirement congratulations to our new acting Chief basil Warren yet again the committee continues to support our police and values all you do to keep our community safe we look forward to working with your department planning community events this year Public Works welcome new staff in and new roles in 2024 for the first time we have AED D at facilities and ground staff member to help uh keep our Assets in great shape we established a public works subcommittee and continue to meet often to discuss concerns and how to better optimize our great public works department John we thank you for all you do and your team to keep our town so beautiful make no mistake I'm not done make no mistake 2025 will be an important year for this town lots of things are happening behind the scenes our recreation department will be busy planning our annual event but we'll also start planning our centennial celebration which is in 2026 speaking of Centennial we officially renamed the Vine Street pocket park Centennial Park we have an exciting Park design that we hope to receive a grant for to help offset costs our goal is to complete this park in 25 so it's ready to be on display to our residents by 26 we have some really great features planned for this area including a large clock tower and Time Capsule I'd like to take this time to thank all the volunteers that dedicate their time to serve on various boards thank thank you to the Delano fire department for always risking their lives to keep our town safe I want you to know that I will continue to work hard for our residents I'm here to serve the residents of this great little town we moved here in 2013 by accident we had our sight set on Del Ram but because we share Z code we had a house pop up on our search when we found our house on Second Street we instantly fell in love with this town and its charm and hoped to stay for decades to come it's been a blessing to meet so many wonderful people over the years and we've made great lifelong friends honestly I couldn't imagine living anywhere else deleno really is a great Riverfront town I know I have a lot more to offer as a Committee Member and 25 is going to be a great year of growth and progress my phone is always on and my emails are answered quickly it's no secret where you can find me I encourage all the residents with questions or concerns to reach out to me communication is key I'm always willing to listen and offer Solutions I work for you the residents now let's get this year started it's time to get things done [Applause] thank you and with that the meeting is open to the public for comments and
