##VIDEO ID:OLE7nO3QjOs## [Music] yeah accurate but not captions AI companion did you go to last year go because we play we have an excellent time okay super exced he's a wonderful host yes he is a wonderful host he has a beautiful home and we play what we want to play that same game again yes yes oh good I'll be a new be well see Zach last time thought it was better to hang around with the men don't do that we're gonna call meeting order it's 607 607 it's the D historical commission meeting um it's a hybrid meeting at Oldtown Hall it's December 10th um it's being recorded um the listing of and the recording will be shown on D YouTube channel uh the listenting of the matters are those reasonably anticipated by the chair which may be discussed at the meeting not all items listed May in fact be discussed and other items not listed may also be brought up for discussion to the extent permitted by law and we'll stand for the Pledge of Allegiance Pledge to the flag of the United States of America and to the for it stands one nation God indivisible with liberty and justice for all all right chairperson iene member Raa D Vice chair and clerk Shera member a and zackon is not with us this evening okay um secretary's report Irene did a wonderful job thank you Iration very detailed I'll accept a motion um I'll accept a motion yeah I'll entertain a motion to accept the minutes as submitted so Mo for a second second all in favor okay our budget so our fy2 budget um our balance is $1,413 ch's conference cost was $45 that right yeah I thought it was 125 so I was wrong I apologize um and we still have $80 encumbered there's no changes on the segain at Schoolhouse gift account or the donation account So based on this we've spent 18.5% of our budget and I was thinking about it we're looking at January and we should be at like about 49% so I was trying to figure out like the different um expenses that we're going to see from January through June and so I came up with we have there's a conference in June the one that Sher and I went to last year the N Myster one yeah that's in June so we have that um for people to go [Music] to I would say that was 125 last year so I would say you know we project you 50 for that it was like $95 travel so we have that expense um if we want to add the 10 properties of West s or 11 properties that we're doing with spacy on the survey to the gis map not print a hard copy map but just get them to add it to the um GIS map that could be at like 200 or so I can probably call and find out a better price from them okay you know to give us an idea we have the historical marker for Oldtown Hall we have $80 that's encumbered towards that and we'll talk about that later on and we do a marker also for um Smith Memorial Hall um and check and see what we need for office supplies for our survey notebooks we have some um we'll just have to double check that and then copies of the West Tian survey forms I looked at what we PID for 92 Pages last time it was $76 we PA double that I forget it might it might be double that now that I think about it one copy was 96 I think so two copies could be you know 60 to 100 maybe CU it's not that many forms so those are the kinds of things that I came up with um give or take we could have like a balance of around you know $200 to $300 that you know we still have depending on how our all those prices come in okay so if you can think of anything else that we would need as a commission or if I forgot anything um can let me know because we have to work on the FY 26 budget so that's our budget for this year do anyone have anything to add okay so now it says FY um 25 budget because I'm so used to writing FY 25 next on the agenda should 26 I need a secretary to prove myself so raap you went to the meeting as um our representative they had a big U meeting for all of the Departments and chairpersons to go to on December 4th I wasn't here so Raa went for me um yeah it was the shortest video it really was very short yeah less less than 30 minutes or something oh less than 15 yeah had one former select had asked to many questions much shorter uh uh yeah basically all departments have agreed to like diminish their budget because we don't have a choice we a choice we have to pay for that school this school come up with a 9,000 something like that yeah they recommend a percentage or they up to I think it's it's up to us for commission okay yeah so we have decide how much percentage we to decrease okay so to vote on that yeah okay um that was about it that was about it I would left I think Ralph did a good job yeah moderating conducting meeting was there a lot of questions B for select yeah all right surprised it didn't come up with a percentage are they hoping that people will I think they're they're probably doing like the first round okay and then come back and that's what usually they do I think it'll just be um a little bit more frugal this time coming around oh actually would I told you like Woody asked the question about the Dr school because 54 I think 54% of the school money in town so was asking questions like what what about the enrollment in school is it down it's going to be down then it's un logical to take us some money from them you know yeah I think there's something with the agreement with funding issues right so okay um so the budget is due January 22nd 2025 and it's for zero based again justification so I made little packets for every mon so the first thing is like a working um budget page so that if you want to think about it you know over the month January then January how much SP um this year our budget was 1,400 and I can tell you the allotments that we had in the professional and Technical we had $750 Communications was 30 other supplies was 490 and travel was 130 so that's what we're working with this year you know we want to think about it and you know give careful consideration what we want to do have we spent anything on supplies yet no that would be where um that's where our historical markers any kind of office supplies would come on yeah correct okay you know we paid for um the frame for the Helen map that we had okay um so different things like that um you know we did have like the 30 in there we spent this we spent $73 on stamps because the postage is gone up I know you know so we still have a ro of STS but if we do another mailing for you know a public meeting we'll use that right up again [Music] right and I would anticipate you know if we go to another conference we will use up all the travel too so in our budget we can like be negative on the line item which is okay as long as our total budget is still it has to the black it can't be you can't be below so you could pull from one line to the other right all right so there's homework for January I everyone will be doing it on January 1 just like me so again you know it's like at that meeting we'll have to all vote on it the majority of the members have to sign it and um then the chairman and you know the vice chair uh we'll meet with the town accountant and the Town Administrator so um that's the budget stuff and our unfinished business um the preserving memory Zach isn't here so the next two items were his he had reached out to Dave about the studio but has not heard back from him and he plans on reaching out to him again by the end of this week to see if we can get that going if that's not going to work we'll have to think of an alternative for is a studio event finally completed or it's I believe it's ready to go yeah that's why yeah that's why I heard do we have any idea how far back we've been saying the same thing in quite a while yeah I don't I don't keep a copy of the minutes of course I'm sorry but I think every month we come here how is it oh I'll get back there how is it coming I'll get back there I'm wondering if it's hit a year yet yeah it could it could be um because they were working on it for a while and then I mean we can pick an alternative because we can record it you know even just using a zoom meet as like is also stepping down no the thing yeah okay but we may have to come up with an alternative because we can't keep saying it no [Music] it's been on the agenda mon now yeah and I know there's another program in the planning process and I'm not sure when that's taking off either I should ask ask what it's a veterans with the veterans with Mna and Ray he well wouldn't it be funny if that got priority over us wouldn't it be come on after we've been waiting for a year just just my opinion so no no I agree we should you know follow so um or come up with an alternative so there are you need to record with your iPhones or you can do it a zoom link and record you know doing it that way and save it to either you can save it to you know the cloud or you can save it to um memory stick I can check tomorrow too I can just walk down there oh would you okay yeah I'll check tomorrow just be curious yeah that's I'm you know I I'm curious so yeah yes let me know okay so he's also um I accept him some um pictures for the um walking tour pamphlet that I found at the society um so picture of um oh the the Andrew Spooner house and then also a picture of um it's fairly whereing River see that should wrap up in January the deadline all right historical Mark where we get that one okay so I got a response F this is the quote ready $173 85 $173 85 taxes $187 so I haven't responded to them yet I told l so the other option that about it is to what about the sh they did our sign they owe us of money yeah for the reing that school so I think it's only fair that we should commit to making our assigns for the next 30 Years discussion that's it said that talking to him oh talking about previous are you contct Kevin yeah this is Mr Kevin Smith [Music] you give aample yeah [Music] wow that's expensive expensive ex they were 126 okay how many years ago just two years [Music] this is one I would definitely try because those duck ones that in the book yeah that was plain didn't say anything yeah was yeah um all right our the next packet that I gave you isy sp contract for the um finishing compy nomination so um I just this today and take up to 30 weeks from the start of the project this and the proposal that she gave said needing to up to Le I don't see I ask her to that yeah [Music] if this money it gets refused yeah yes it can get refused guar all I wanted to ask but this should be CPC yeah we have the funding for thisal Mee which is all set I'll ask for about the three meetings and then um what would happen next is um I talked to lean today and C before the board s on January 8 so we have have time okay now would they be the ones signing the contract either um Ralph or the chair the selectman anyone have anything else for that contract that was my big question okay yeah I know I don't know what the percentage of I would publicize that I guess percentage of properties that aren't approved I don't know okay if there's nothing else on that contract will work on and once I have Stacy about that I'll just give it to we don't need to review it again unless you want to fine just okay okay all right next 2120 Water Street so ra you posted our yeah so I been at L house December 5th first Sunday afternoon from like from 1 to 3:00 I went there uh my partner D and I went there together and I was we were surprised because they let us in even though the building was condemned I mean they officially boarded it but the realtor was there and he welcomed us inside so we went inside we checked everyone in the house except for the basement um horable condition oh yeah yeah I mean I noticed right away even before entering I noticed the side of the building sort of like bent was like almost like about to crumble fall and took like pictures and stuff you guys see yeah all right so it was really in a sad state but um there were like maybe like a dozen people or so came by to to take a look and there's this one woman she she lives in North Bon forgot her name Catherine or something and she said that she has uh rehabilitated historical houses in the past and she might be interested but it's a matter of finding the money to have it you know restored and she estimated it would cost somewhere between half a million to a million dollars to rehabilitate the entire building well can we back up what happened to Zach telling us that people bought the home and came before the zoning board and proposed to build a two you know you're looking at me like I'm making this all up it was a two family home the garages were going to be underneath the property because of the water table what happened I think that was just a a vision a plan it's not really set in stone well I think they bought it and now they are reselling it well they bought it for $900,000 actually no they bought it for like 250 or something and they tried to sell it for $900,000 nobody was interested so they lowered it to 350 and then 300 and now to 299 so they bought it and now they're just dumping it I wonder wouldn't you expect that other than not having someone to come up with crazy money maybe they found something that was more detrimental to building a new place there than what they originally either hoped for tested found out I don't know I was just surprised that they got an open house and yes I'd be surprised that they' let you in too a condemned building yeah wow I was surprised but there was an open house me too in a condemned building yeah like can you do that question all water under the bridge now guess so uh is there a ray of Hope for the house to be saved honestly I don't think so because if there was somebody should have like come up by I know come forward and bought the house bought the enti property so you invest that kind of money you buy it for just say 300 300 then you invest another eight you're at a million yeah and then you look at the properties around they for you know comparables it's not a million dollar neighborhood no it's no no it's not no it's not I was wondering when that was going to be not a million dollar neighborhood the same woman also I think she claims she contacted CPC K shair to inquire whether or not CPC would try to save the CPC money and and I think I don't think CPC private private they don't do that yeah so yeah the only way that might and I'm not real sure if it's income producing you know so it's providing housing so it would fall under the housing part of it but I'm not sure if that's correct or not you know in the shape as Kevin you know um yeah but you know it is what it is so I'm thankful you have nice pictures I understand it looks so bad but at least you've got some decent chimney pictures yeah you know I mean well I also took the videos but I was like to to post it because I was like narrating here's the stairs oh look here's a toilet paper from the 17th century living where you and I took a funny picture of Dan and I funny I don't even recognize my face so can you set up to me please CH it's too bad that chimney yeah in the fireplace be fireplace L of History will be done what it is can say house that's what you get from neglecting and it's too bad neglected would it have made a difference though if that whole District had been declared a local historic district like 30 years ago if it may have you know um um because a local his for a district that's the only way you're going save any properties you know so should have well we all know the house is condemned if it's it's going to demolished eventually so I think it's our job as a commission to try to save as many relics as possible that I didn't see too many relics in your picture no the floor the original remove them than this who's going to remove them it's not a town thing it's privately owned priv who's going to remove those boards well ask not me and not you no good question if it was a town building you would hope to get some help but it's not maybe some bricks or something from the fireplace there going to be like vultures flying around because they would want to save some of these sell them online or what well also um if people are ref purposing the wood and stuff there are people that do that with older homes so they'll be looking for good quality wood of course yeah but I mean what would the quality be now where it's been sitting for so long I mean the the floor looks F it's just the walls and the ceiling and the stairs yeah the attic yeah and the windows that's sad little bathtu oh yeah iron quad beet and stuff no think the 70s or the 70s it has all these ducky stickers was it pink yellowish yellow oh cuz a lot of them were pink yeah all right well thank you consider that house can done forever so um for the next the report so CPC there's no new applications for funding right now um at our last meeting we just reviewed the status of the existing projects the West Titan survey broad Co trails and the library and they're all moving along and then um get a little discussion about possible future projects in different areas so of course no possibility of us doing continuing our survey work um that's always a possibility so um it was it was a short meeting U the library building committee will be meeting on Thursday so I don't have anything new to report there for the 250th anniversary we met on December 2nd so the plans are continuing for the reenactment and encampment so we had a discussion about a presentation on the old Bristol path by the town historian and which he has done before um because that's all a lot of those houses and stuff are connected to the Revolutionary War you know especially the church and Rufus Whit Marsh and Etc um then a brainstorming a potential fundraiser connected to that uh like a 5k or a 3K walk kind of race which would be interesting to put together um and we were also having discussions about a monument for the Revolutionary War of veterans on the veteran Circle there isn't one for the Revolutionary War there's just um one marker that states for all those who have served so there's like World War I World War II the Civil [Music] War Vietnam and then Desert Storm the Ben with Desert Storm I also think is um Grenada Iran Iraq yeah so there's you know remember like three titles on that one for some reason I could be wrong on that um and then there's also the um s tet Monument so that's we're working on there so next meeting date is January 14th in 2025 believe it or not and in that I S I put together our meeting dates so our first month's January 14th the next month's February 11th I'm going to be traveling again yeah we're off and running um may be back in time but I doubted for to chair the meeting ra you just wanted to chair that meeting um we can do that on the 11 you can attend I might be in the airport airport I've done live Instagram and Facebook and the airport well that's you not me um so that you know ra can share that maybe unless you want to switch it we can switch it just to what another day here s it to have to like every month now are we can decide did we not meet one month last year or something yeah we didn't meet last February because it snowed there was a storm that's right that's right yes so let's hope with another story why don't we see what um Fe what January brings decision okay the next one is February 11 that's Veterans Day um so we can do either the Tuesday before the Tuesday after or we can pick February or November I mean November did I say Fe mean Valentine's Day I'm like did I miss something my mind's going than my M my mouth is going faster than my mind November 11th is Veterans Day so that's also our usual meeting day so we can either meet the Tuesday before or after or we can meet on November 10th the same week I know Pat you usually have things on Mondays yep so so I won't be around you want to have a meeting go ahead but I'll be an out and Irene according to this you're no longer a member because you expired so so how does oh my how does that straighten out you know what with a little bit of work on your PO that's how it's Error shouldn't be 20 25 no I evidently it ran out she needs to redo it did they redo it in let me I can check to out check to see if I see your name and then I will oh because yeah and yeah have you done a renewal recently no in recent okay nobody that's fine can you do it can you I'll reach out to you tomorrow okay and I'll see if you have something you can do the because 2025 would be three years can you just you see me yeah any applications for the vacancy no no I guess we should um start working on that um or anybody anyone who anyone who constantly posts on back in the day di the contributors people always ask questions about history maybe we can fight them no you don't like any of them if they were truly interested they would be being here in person oh that Stacy woman Stacy mon she was the one who bought that property in El Street um marett she always asks questions stuff she's very interested she had a daughter together all right so did we do we want to do November 4th or November 18th J play by a year this like a year from now well we have to well we have to kind of like get our reservation in yeah other there's other committees that meet for you will the new labr be open by then [Music] yeah nobody sure um there they I was told today that it's going to be a year from now a year from now that's sort of like the the room to do the interviews that's what I okay they must THS because um with the bidding kind of thing then because they were aiming for September of 2025 look at this way no I just heard that today about a year from now yeah like 2030 not not 2030 but yeah okayer always delays question was there a PO F visit oh so not yet no because not on schedule it's going back and forth with um je Barber who lives there and it's trying to mesh schedules together um but it's Stacy did say she would reach out to him again so and he has a work schedule and then she was sick and then it was a Thanksgiving and okay I just fin I was in the middle of it and I'm like you know what you two figure it out oh November 4th is election day in 20255 yes Alo then we'll do November 18th we let do it God I still feel like I'm in like FY 25 and then I'm 26 all right so nov 18 all right and so my goodies character okay this is fun so these are the if you haven't seen them already um C school this came out in 1998 and it just says one of D's 14 one room School houses the 15th one room Schoolhouse is across the river and the song you know there was one over there too that used to belong to D yeah yeah okay so and thenly d and bridge I don't have a year well it says 1996 so if this is 1998 and this is 1996 this guy says 1997 the council o and it tells you it was the meeting place of the Indians you'll notice oh yeah go ahead that's nice um King Phil uh met here with his Graves this tree marked the center of the old field nearby was the largest Indian settlement in De so this is seven so I'm putting them in order here six here seven is eight 99 the D Rock located on the East Bank of the to River and the dton Rock Park Museum is covered with designs of ancient and uncertain origin of which explanations range from Portuguese explorers to Native Americans so that's 99 so that goes there and then this is 96 H so there was two and 96 yeah the bridge and this says the town hall and it's the new town Town Hall it's not the old town hall but both sides look sort of nice so this looks like it's different you know this has like stuff on the back and a picture on the front and this has a picture on the front and a picture on the back thing so anyway that's what I have if there's more of them I don't think so I ever seen that I think so one of D's 14 one school that's what I just said in the right well the there not the garage now there's garages there's people sheds there's one of the Historical Society that's still around oh some reason the fish school is a house yes the fish school um why do why do we think why do I think that it's the only remaining Schoolhouse one room Schoolhouse in B because it's the only one owned by the town oh the other ones are all private they're all private that's what okay yeah okay and talking about these you don't think coming up with this historical thing for the um anniversary that you're planning you don't think the ornaments that Shar has could play in there people are very interested in historical things when they're at something historical correct I know you can't give them away now hold on to those little Bugg yeah um yeah so all right perfect don't you think I mean it's it's an opportunity that people might be interested says D and mass and it's a picture of the seal yeah and it says 300th anniversary those were the ones that were in the boxes yeah and she's got two boxes roughly how many is in a box while Parish I would say 20 40 60 I would say about 40 so you all right it's just it's a place to people might be interested that's all okay right now High has them to hold them for me because I had no R the can you come with me over there because I want to it's helpful if I speak to these okay so if I go like this everybody saw the kind of yeah all right so first postcard I want to show you is from dyon Kanas and here's what's beautiful about it this postcard was sent to the woman who lived on on the house at the corner of Main and Elm we bought the house Bens so it went to D but it's a postcard of d canas That's reason I have that so that went to Mark yeah y I wonder if somebody sent it to Mar yes they sent it to Matha because they went to visit back in Kansas what they thought maybe she would like what year is this 51 51 that's cool isn't it so I got this one we cleaning out m the rest of them most of them are from eBay this is a view of the cotton River at se Dan at Mass I think you've seen that one before that okay this is the north dton Dam so this is harodite so there's the Falls but of course this looks very different yeah yeah you'll see repeats of them but they they're not the same repeat you'll see other postcards of the falls this is be's rock on Elm Street with the Bon list but it looks very different because all the trees haven't grown up yet you some of them have years on the back some don't no that's not going to tell me nothing it just says that the postcard cost a penny so if you bought it back then cost a penny I have three of dinon rock I have that's when they had it fence around it was on land and then this is when it was actually in the water and used to get covered up by the water and then this is when you can see by the men's outfits I love so sort dates it that's I was telling Shara that this is a a fire fire Wen tower on Richmond Hill and they would man the tower to see if there were any fires that's how they would locate and tell the fire department to get going because they saw smoke or whatever and people would go up that Tower and it's on Richmond Hill and you're crazy if you think I would do that okay this is Mount leery so um no that's a number that's a post okay so sometimes that Tower is G yeah no the tower is gone back in there we've been collecting these since years is that where the water tower is now that where the water tower is water tow are G Oh you mean the one on El yeah this is North Titan this is M hope no no no I mean this put the water tower no oh no that was a lookout that's all okay this is Lincoln Avenue your house isn't included but this is Lincoln Avenue yeah my your house is further [Music] down it's a neat picture though okay this is the it's another picture of the bleacher so similar but they're not you know this is I think it's might be School Lane there's Mount H yeah so this road still exists this house with the funny window the funny Diamond window was part of the survey for North so that's still there some of these houses have you know been altered they don't look the same so they used to say that that was Joe KOA when he was a young boy seriously seriously okay this is another view of the harod D it's a nice picture so it says North Titan Falls Titan Mass here we go Rufus wh Mar house Titan Mass so of course that is where's on that now and um Mrs pilling lives sort in the back over off of down street these big trees are gone and of course the fence is gone so it looks very different there's another one of the falls this is Creek and broad coold d Mass when you're heading into Somerset you know how they had they used to cut hay there the hay was for ice they used to cut you didn't eat the hay the cows did je je they use that for beding they also strawberry too oh yeah I knew they used it for the ice it was such full quality nobody but anyway that's when they had cows in so this is the house on the corner of Maine and Elm that we own for a period of time but this was taken in 19 morning look at how people dress look at the cars but look at the house I mean that is just still the same today I know still ex we sold it maybe five years ago no it looks nice it looks really ni is it right the street wasn't even paved it's a dirt road in 1920 Elm Street and Main Street and not yeah now there was a trolley that used to come up but I have a trolley later on here's the falls at North D again this is I mean why buy it but it does say d MK somewhere on here trust me it does so that's it's a view from the srean river okay yeah but I mean who cares um Christian Church North titon Lincoln Avenue now it's a house next door to um Lincoln Village oh because there's you know the brown house on top of the hill they they just made it like a driveway mhm is that it is that it this is the no this is oh it's a different one that was a school I think you're think this is right next to Y yep ba house on Elm Street yeah look how stately it looked though the Big Trees didn't it look beautiful you know okay here's the elementary school the new Elementary this is the series you see the black on the bottom so you whatever you see comes from that same series the new elementary school so that was built in what 1953 53 okay so here's Bristol County agie used to look like wow that's wow beautiful and then the same series high school and Town Offices di M we remember that yeah okay now here's the nursery which was on Elm Street that Rudy Christensen okay and his sister Emily pilling sister she lived in this here she was living like in a one room little back there and then they built a beautiful home back there so you know where the Rufus wh Marsh house is the house way in the back now that's where Mrs cing was living she was the librarian for years lovely woman lovely woman this is what 1712 used to look like a million years ago oh wow AC oh my gosh I remember that that's what it used to look like Resturant all like a couple different things and then Georgio remember that Indian statue out front yeah oh wow that's what that looked like here's another one on North D but this is really old three mile River and the paper mill in North dton I think it was Lincoln paper so this is Lincoln a this is Spring Street because that's where so you're above the falls in this picture but that was a paper mill a zillion years ago W this is north Cooperative Association and this little wagon here is North Titan Cooperative association's delivery little so that was on Spring Street okay we're still in North Titan another picture of just says finish it's not as pretty I like the colored ones and then this guy parite Finishing Company Titan wow okay Unitarian Church and horse Block in diing Mass that's the current D Community Church it is but see how very different it looks but you got the cemetery back there when they talk about the horse block how is it different look the same to me oh it doesn't look the same to me at all it looks the same to you no the windows are different this thing it's different it just looks very different to me this is a picture inside M hope Finishing Company okay this came from elain valy Valley wrote that yeah but that's it's just a picture this is the Strawberry Fields I'm guessing this would be like behind Mrs Bennett's house Charles Chase was a big strawberry part yep and that's where that whole thing started but I mean is it a cute picture but it could be anywhere you know but it's not it's not it's Indi strawberry field okay Captain John Clon house I believe that um is it old Somerset Road it comes out with the 138 up here yeah it's still there is the bridge I I remember that bridge it was a oneway bridge right time it was a two oh yeah a beautiful picture of the library and the house that I live in now was right here they moved it up Main Street so I never lived next to the library but my house used to be on your house lived next to what a beautiful that is a gor here we Go's the memorial H lovely picture the towers yeah and here's the Council Oak now then with his branches so this this writing okay Grandpa's Berry shed used to be where the arrow points oh see the arrow right here see the little arrow oh yeah so that's where grandpa's Berry shed used to be and there's a little story behind it sometimes when you buy them you know you get more than you BG them for okay so this was sent to tala in Oaks Bluff Massachusetts and it talks about um beneath the spreading branches of this Noble Oak the Redmond meton Council meet me at the Council Oak July 17 1912 and enjoy the many festivities attending the celebration of Titans by Centennial so this is you know when they stamp it sometimes you get the day and the month and you don't get like yeah and that's all you really want is that's amazing isn't it it's neat but see when people sell them to you they're only selling you the picture in front and so it says this Oak was here before the Pilgrims landed in Plymouth mask so I don't know who wrote that but Grandpa's sheds in the front this is in the lot north of the cemetery so somebody okay so we're back to three M Lincoln a and Herod in the Falls is the First Congregational Church so we're talking on Center Street here we go to North Tian M Garage that's cool then this is near the Eddie House I Tred to put these sort of kind of together yeah so this is on Pleasant Street so the Ed house is like down this way and with all these rocks don't you think the rock house is up here yeah it's out of view yeah all right so here is the Corum show house and that was it's the the layers or the liar whatever and here's the early house markers this is what we used to use for um the house markers they were made out of wood and they were routed and they rotted and fell apart but I mean that's what we originally had to Mark old homes the Nathaniel Fisher house was Miss W El house right so this used to be where the police station is now that's and yeah they mooved the house minus the bom minus minus the tot here's a picture of D Rock Park so this used to be you know down where um like Cherry Street is okay so this is these were water tanks and they were two different heights just so I don't know if you've seen this before okay so they were full of water and this was the entrance it was very Grand and you'll see some of the postcards you'll see ladies with fancy M dresses and parasols and whatever going to the amusement park um here's the merry go round and swings at the D at the park I've never seen that that's cool yeah I got better one this is this is the bathing house bathing Beach at nighton Rock Park and if you read that bathing suits 25 cents you your bathing suits and then you went the to River wouldn't I be good for a house tour come on I I love this love we have some neat meat post cards seene from the Eddie House M this is the the want pictures of the Three Dwarfs at one time he has one okay well this and there is it says the river D MK but that's Pleasant Street that's the is it the customs house I say so I say it's a custom house I think so yeah yeah it doesn't say well let me look at the back the back says this went to somebody in new weham mass or west wam West West off point dear S I am at so it doesn't tell you anything what's it say over here nothing good published by a company in Taunton printed in Germany cost you to send it oh my gosh can you imagine look at the condition of the car considering how old this thing [Music] is where did you get these cards from most of them are from eBay occasionally an antique Place most are they digitalized I would think some of them are digitalized well I found one we don't pay a lot for them which is why we have so many of them view of D Rock Park so there's another view that's you know what the buildings look like those are the two towers well we had an article about it okay there a closer remind me to get back to that will you here's a closeup of the D yach club and then I have several pictures of the D different views of the D yach Club so they would having a supper Thursday August 15th [Music] no doesn't say okay so yeah so the with the boats and um Ben Shaw had boat that looked something like that and it was the shaie and it was I mean for years and years and years and what happened to it I don't know and of course this was destroyed in hurricane wasn't it yeah yeah so there's three pictures of and then this is like the Audi so you can like from a distance and it just says bird's eye view Toton yach Club from the Lower dayon Rock par W yeah so this they turned it around and went over here and took a picture this way okay there's my trolley a trolley card is worth books so this is Pleasant Street and you going into Somerset oh okay so the trolley ran over there and they I love that picture so this I brought this in before and I know it's just I'm protecting the majority of this is an back of an envelope see it yeah oh yeah your tax bill came in this they stamped the back of the tax bills when they went out to Residence and this is a map of the Totton River and it's got the dyon stove lining company on it arold Hoffman so his main street over over here and then it has a little this the Lincoln paper mill that I told you about it was in the other picture um and it's got a trolley track and didn't we do a piece on the trolley what the din Rod pack that's what I want to say get back to me one night say it was Tuesday I have it in my notes and I'll get it for you but Tuesday might have been suers set night and people would come on trolling and whatever else and they have like you know clamb boils and entertainment and that's I mean d had you can go any night but I mean if you want to you live in Somerset you want to go to your Somerset friends on Somerset night and that was you know the big thing but so the house that was whose house was it um that was the end oh the thank you five miles of water front oh CU those are things that it told you why you should be Happ to pay the taxes because those are the perks you got but see that's an actual envelope that people got you got that in the mail and they put the stamp on the well how many people say them you know efficient fire companies perks perks of living eight churches 20% increase in population since 19 C resturants 194 I'm not sure 1914 I'm not sure that is super cool the tax rate is 14.40 $14.40 well there you go you could look it up that way you could see how old it is based on what the tax rate the tax rate then so what's our tax rate now it's not crazy it's not crazy you know that's about the same yeah 15 yeah yeah it's just has really the tax rate yeah the postcards would not be of interest to you they're um this is mar and Manor it is that's Mar and Manor if you want that's it for my that was what that was a restaurant used to be T in beautiful this is this is the green says boat club taunt Mass I'm not quite sure oh that would be down on Water Street I think um you go down the way you go over the bridge yeah and then the Atlantic's on you take that right is that in the green I believe [Music] yeah that I thought you would like this one mild no you have the other Monument so I thought you would like this one okay this is westv and Dam in TOT is that the berley um not sure I don't think so we hope oh we're hoping so see how nice these you know it's actually post gives you information they don't all do that so that's the hornbine school and the hornbine neighborhood and it tells you so this was printed in 1976 you know almost looks like the the Berkeley Town Hall the building shaped yeah you've seen that Swansea meeting with friends in Sam it always looks like it needs 14 gallons of paint cuz it always looks like it just sucks up the paint and then this is Sunset Village Mass with a church yeah that's that's down down the village oh my goodness and then see these are like new island and oh that's Washington DC but there's another trolley card I got two trolley cards that's like a big deal okay this is the picture that was it with me over which train station that was because if you look in the back see the house see where it says Oakland yeah okay so that's sort of takes where it is so here's the train tracks you and I believe I said that was the D train station because of the Oakland sign back and he said that's not it that's not it okay fine and that's when I took my stuff home brought back because I G things because I think they're SW and if you want look at I think it's nice to share with people but I'm [Applause] not awesome gosh that's amazing that you have all those yes by and you you get one and you get awesome [Laughter] I have no problem with that I we keep I I wouldn't give them to someone and say I'll pick them up in three or four days no I want to be with them kind when I remember when I wasid I miss and we had she used wife that she amaz no Instagram face but she she took pictures of all the eventsi so she's got like a you know Memorial Day parades you know just lights huh yeah so I've been workingin and even like olds see I can find any postcards like my like my grandfather's or [Applause] something oh my gosh you have like we're gonna have men was uh [Music] 18 I thought I I there was one um thing on the wallpaper that's 18 80 something and I'll have to take a picture and PR it again um but my grandfather I don't know where he got them all but he has a book of everybody inen that had passed away every like I'm sure he saved all the cing out of the newspaper all I've found books a whole set of books on um you remember the um the book say how to do it yourself books PR like literally every single book you could imagine and it was all do it yourself and you to do it never so where Jacob's bedroom is gonna be is where my grandfather kept like all the encyclopedias that got the time like the do yourself books like I mean there's just a thousand books oh yeah oh yeah and they about the spine is like two in and that's where it said like do it like it didn't say do it yourself it we chucked them all so and I saved everything no we chucked them so we are obvious ly my dad's living room is going to be the last room we work on and I I go to move a book and I was like Dad you realized that the wallpaper is blue and nowhere back at these books what you do wallpaper around no it's just because of these books have been there for so many years the wallpaper ped yeah the books ever read my cousin I was kind of [Music] hoping we went through the red house when they sold the house they didn't empty that so we had to empty the house and there was a globe bank oldfashioned kids globe bank can you put the pennies in and it was completely full of wheat back pennies oh my God and I looked at and I said here you go this is going to be worth a fortune did not so I took every penny out of it it was a 10 I still have the bank I love the bank it's beautiful so I took every penny out rot down the year you know whatever whatever whatever and then I went on on my phone and looked up a current valuation so some of them were worth 10 cents and maybe one would worth 15 cent so what I mean come on so I mean it was basically nothing sometimes the ones that are worth money it's the way that they're marked there a mistake or something yeah oh my gosh yeah I can't even tell I I will start taking pictures yeah of the Thousand books oh sure we just you encyclopedias oh who else I had inopia learn comence encyclopedia my father got me a set when I was like eight or nine and that's how I gained a lot of knowledge just reading my father had done an encyclopedia I can't remember what the name of it was and every year they gave you a yearbook and we kids used to pour over that oh I can't wait to take pictures and I'm going to be like so who would like to put this at the Historical Society you got be literally people moving one more I got this little news art newsletter from the Susan B Anthony birthplace Museum um of course they looking for Don but it was kind of interesting um I never knew it Adams it's a birth place Museum they have all of programs and stuff related to her so that's what we got for correspondence this month so other than that anything else motion to adjourn mov second all in favor and we [Applause] [Music] areour now I'm going to give you a hint of the game okay I'm so we all sit around Chou doesn't
