Dilworth belon school district is to educate individuals in an environment of trust and respect so they become self-directed responsible lifelong Learners all right I'm technically not the chair but I'm the temporary chair and so as part of that the first thing we need to do is to um have an election for the chair person um just a note to the public that new board members have signed their with's office so we don't need to do that right now so they are fully board members and uh so nominations are now open for the office of chairperson I nominate David and we don't need we don't need the second but I will um so we have to go through this process this is the process we go through um so David is nominated are there any other nominations for the office of chair are there any further and your willingness to do it so appreciate that so uh we got F activities are goinging full more and so lot of good things in wrestling a lot of good things in basketball and the Holiday Tournament went well with basketball here it was fun to watch Arya hit her thousand point at her home game last week yeah there you go honor went down first Falls this last weekend speech is just starting and the one plays underway as well so really busy time and um I uh was present obviously as a County employee um I work at the courthouse typically and we had um a situation where the County Board was hearing testimony or information I guess from um public comments in reference to a uh tobacco ordinance and we had some uh adults there but more importantly we had some djf students who were brave enough to step up and uh speak on a public meeting that is recorded and live that a fair amount of people attended um and some of them weren't in um favor of it and yet our students stood their ground and did a really great job of um kind of giving their perspective and giving their thoughts on the process from The Rise club and kind of spoke to a voice of the students in favor of a flavored tobacco ban um in the coun so I was uh extremely impressed um by their um ability to public speak uh but more so just the courage it took to to get up and do that so kudos to them lot good things about that day yeah it was it was fabulous I was very proud other uh re recognition all right we'll go on to 7.1 board committee reports the budget committee budget committee me at our last board meeting just prior to Christmas um we went over the audit um and the audit is what they would call a clean audit um and just looked at you know our various fund balances and um we talked a little bit about the Shannon's work to try to U get it increased to the L the does L stand for local optional Revenue local optional revenue and we'll have more um more reports yeah and then we also I was just thinking that was right before our truth on taxation meeting so we talked about that too remember that and that slides show kind of a little bit about specifically where dgf Falls and why we pay what we pay and what the increases primary we're from is uh property values right right any questions Bud questions fore Oran yeah and I will say uh obviously budget uh related is that at our next court meeting we'll have the final budget for 25 so fiscal year 25 so uh I will be presenting that at our next board meeting all right we'll go on to 7.2 the superintendent report yeah and I just want to keep it simple tonight because we got to get other or other positions filled here tonight so obviously we're going to the msba conference this week um we'll be leaving Wednesday afternoon um and coming back Friday afternoon so just kind to make sure that I think everything is good and set there we just have to talk about how we're going to get there and who's driving or who's not driving but that F so just uh um excited about that uh I talked to John marker today our lawyer uh he's going to try to hook up with us on Thursday afternoon or evening just to talk about what um is going to happen soon and then in February uh February 10th is what we're shooting for uh uh John and Nick Nick is our architect expert they'd like to present to the board um what they're gonna what we're goingon to go uh and present to the people we're going to be mediating with we'll just leave it like that so anyway so that's going to be coming and he would like to meet with us to in the cities if that works so which should be great because I said I'd like to introduce him to our new board members so he kind of knows and you guys know what's kind of going on with that so that was good uh second semester is going to come here real soon so January 20th is the first day of our second semester visiting with principles they said first semester has gone well and excited at the high school you know there's going to be some changes in classes and whatnot so but overall just really happy and we're already halfway through the year boom so there we are and let's you guys have a ton of questions for me I try to keep you updated in the weekly update too and then we're going to msba so I thought you probably see enough of me I do have a question when you said the second semester starting I don't know why it made me think of it did we ever sort out the um driving permission slip um thing with the policy I don't know I'm going to have to check I did bring it up at our admin meeting our principal meeting I parent 't received anything to sign for my child to leave uh during lunch oh okay so no that's a great question not sure we i y r up at the principal meeting right I think it was yep yep yep very close so yep it's some of that pre prepaid stuff you know not prepaid but paying a whole Insurance up front and all that and slowly catching up but anyway my life but yeah any other from U that was currently in place for 2024 certainly can adopt it as that or we can change it to um typically we bring a motion first and then um discuss that so if anybody has we're looking for a motion and I can just tell you what the dollar amounts was $300 um per person chair person is stien of $100 the treasur is a $50 stiped and um or sorry the clerk is a $50 stien the treasurer has a byly stien of $62.50 and then uh negotiating meetings at um $50 per negotiation meeting I think it's been this for the last two years and then prior to that we would um we would have dollar amount per meeting and um just so then it would be your negotiations meeting your budget meeting your whatever so it got kind of goofy and hard for um just a lot of record keeping yeah with the office to try to figure out all the things we monthly that we looked at several other schools and we by no means are close to like average or above average now we are yeah the only reason that EX compensation with the negotiations is just don't know how many meetings it's going to be and it's a ton of time and so it's like okay we should have something separate for that so that's all that kind yeah um I don't know if it matters if I'm since I'm the treasurer but I don't think personally don't think the Sten is necessary like I don't think I'm doing byly $62 more than everybody else I don't know so I don't know that I guess I think that's what it was at when I was Treasurer just kind of been that way I never 20 years I know that's I didn't realize that was that even I mean I don't care what anyone else thinks like it's fine if everyone else agrees but I don't know how it got set to I don't you know Ty well and I guess for clerk um so we should really sorry we should really have a motion in a second what your duties are as I I guess what I did is I reviewed the bills I was in more communication than Marcus or Brooke but I mean it it's not like it was hours and hours of time so I I mean it's $10 a month roughly so right just trying to save us a few I appreciate I'm just saying budget being as as it is you know it matters no 122 123 bucks I mean maybe they you figured that there had to be some sort of an incentive to make someone want to do something additional was being a director sure that makes sense so I'm assuming that that's why they have those in place it's a weird number can we change it to 6 have no idea where the extra like just make it look nice or 50 We Do 50 instead yeah I mean I think that's fine would you want to make a motion to amend that yeah motion to amend the payment for Treasure to $50 for the year even 50 for the year I mean I'll take it by yearly sure $100 is fine okay so$ $23 is fire let's just make let's just clean it up and put 50 all right so that is doing a lot of the duties of the clerk so I don't think it is necessary to have that um monthly St um I you know would still do all of like whatever signature is necessary but the um you know because Brooke is doing all of the notes and sending it out to the rest of the group and so without me doing that it's not really necessary it make sense to make it the same as the treasure you have to read a lot of yeah resolutions it's a groovy position but there's and and her signature we need her signature and quite a few things a lot of people pay high money for AOG seriously I guess I'm open to to hear what other people's thoughts are on it because I think that that would make sense to align it with the uh Treasurer if you're saying that the job duties are consistent as far as time and energy that go into that I think that that would be appropriate well keep there an importance I guess to that that position itself um and if you have to come in to sign something for PR or whatever that does add a little bit to the challenges of scheduling a life so then have it just a byly stien similar to so that's a motion yes you have a second to Laura's motion second second any of the time and here at the Glendon site Media Center um we have sometimes we'll have it at the or sorry at the dgf community room here and then sometimes we will have it at the media center for is we already know there's concert conflicts that are set up for a year from now uh and that's the same then with that media center location there's something going on in the auditorium where there's a game or something we already know about so we said well let's just set it because we know so are they going to be aware of this schedule going forward so there isn't as much shifting and changing I mean obviously it's good that we have those three set out um but this year we had a few conflicts where they were scheduling them on top of meetings or other meetings yep it's all sports meeting win sports meeting we've had we've had these discussions so y that it's like we have to set something guys so we're going to set it and you just got to avoid it it's kind of like a uh um you know County why am I blinking out um Township County um elections that's what I want to say it's it's yeah that was easy um yeah um so we already know these dates right so it's like yeah know you got to avoid them right you can't have meetings so it's like leave us alone right kind that's what we've said now well we just available to the public and yep then that's our responsibility right I would agree the thing that happens sometimes is um it's Katie because she gets something from and all a sudden something has to change you know it's most of the time um it's controllable but not always and that's when this year we ran into a few these are things we already know so I thought well let's just change them and be done yeah that makes sense on that any other questions or discussion is there only one December meeting just because of holidays um we just do that that's also our truth and Taxation meeting yeah it's always just been one good question we don't toship election right and I think the May 27th is a Tuesday because the 26th is Memorial Day um have somebody that's highly intelligent working on this calendar she's sitting right over there so I have a lot I have a lot of trust in her and there is no reason why there would be any mistakes on this anyway um yeah try our best but and we do get those dates from townships and uh and cities and counties so we should be okay yeah any other to 20 so there's ba1 ba2 you get to a master's degree if you get your master's degree then you go beyond so it's just 10 10 credit increments and they have to do it there's only two times a year they can do it it's before school starts in September and also in January so this is that January meeting so on that sheet you can see what teachers have increase your education and what Lane change they
