intersections um to enhance pedestrian safety the project will include P push button Flash and Beacon lights at the following intersections Sanford Avenue and bound br Road Lincoln Avenue and North Avenue Prospect Avenue and North Avenue and Jackson Avenue and North Avenue just to note the bur's portion of funds for the push button flashing Beacon lights with the NJ doot has come from various Redevelopment projects uh as part of the Redevelopment agreements towards Community benefits so uh Redevelopment has a good effect on the downtown for pedestrian and traffic safety um so additionally the Washington Avenue Madison Avenue traffic lights will have updated pedestrian Crossing signals as well so good news for Den Allen and The Pedestrian safety and traffic efforts in our downtown and always a shout out to the mayor's traffic and pedestrian safety task force and the volunteers for your efforts and all that you do for the town and making sure that these projects come to fruition so thank you um which is led by council members Sigman and Lance and other volunteers such is your mother uh Sanford Avenue uh Municipal Aid State uh njdot Grant uh I am happy to announce that we were just awarded $46,800 of a grant from the Department of Transportation so that I think pushes up pushes us now over eight million in Grants in the last uh four and a half five years yeah so um so the location is Sanford Avenue from Bound Brook Road to Third Street so in its entirety uh and the project will entail uh remove and replace any severely damaged curbs and sidewalks install a new ADA Compliant sidewalk ramps at all intersections excuse me a push button flashing Beacon crosswalk at the intersection of Sanford Avenue and First Street so right by morecraft Park uh the plan has been that anywhere near walking areas to schools the downtown and Parks these things will begin to be installed um just so the public is aware um installation of speed check radar detectors pedestrian safety enhanced Road striping all of sandr will be Mill and paved uh this project is uh anticipated to take place in 2027 I know you think oh it's 2024 but the way financing and capital bonding works and when we have to have the project done it's just the the schedule that's in so um good news is is that'll be done in 27 okay CME Engineers report uh downtown way finding signage a meeting was conducted with the denell downtown management organization I I understand um so signed details have been modified per uh Burrow's comments uh CME is preparing the J doot permit and local Aid submission that was also part of a $226,000 grant we got right something like that 276 uh Lincoln Avenue the final reimbursement figures are under review by the NJ doot uh the engineers anticipate dellan will ultimately receive the entire amount of the grant uh which will be a final reimbursement uh should be $300,000 and I think the overall Grant between both was 1.4 million or two um Washington Avenue street lighting bids are scheduled to be received on November 22nd Second Street Phase 1 which is Second Street Sanford Avenue to Madison Avenue uh NJ do has authorized the bidding of the project a meeting was uh conducted with the mayor's traffic and pedestrian safety task force um and their comments are being incorporated into the plan and uh the bids are scheduled to be received on November 22nd that's going to be a busy day and dellan um just note the section of the Second Street from Sanford AB to middlex border will be completed around the same time as a uh as well being proposed as a burrow Mill and pave project just because the the way the the grant was Reed and cover the entirety so but we'll make sure it gets done at the same time don't worry uh news for the downtown it's really it's proof of the efforts we're doing as a team our residents and businesses so let's keep up the great work uh the state's recognizing us and I think people are seeing dellan as the great place that it is that we all knew New Jersey's best kept secret is now no longer a secret um the other thing is there's an article recently written in the business review mag azine which is a nationwide magazine it also goes into Canada uh that highlights business Economic Development Etc uh we were one of two New Jersey towns I think Bernardsville was the other one
