indivisible with liberty and justice for all all right on the agenda we have our certification of election results so the uh results are posted in there uh from the County Board of Elections for your review next item we will administer the oath of office to our uh elected board members Mrs sloy Mr buyers and Miss Hyman so if you guys want to join me down front all right is everyone ready yeah you I'd like nominate and I would like to uh nominate uh Barbara salagi if everybody recalls these last three years we haven't raised any taxes we've implemented a lot of new uh studies for the kids and I just uh think that her leadership has is really commendable are there any other nominations I like okay um what was that understand what he said she nom oh okay make sure that it went through so we have the two nominations I believe am I correct uh V call please I guess and vote say the name of the person you're supporting yep again so you're going to vote for Miss Hyman or Mrs sloy uh Mr buyers Miss Heyman Mr Del Barkin Mrs Heyman Mrs Gilbert Floyd Mrs hman uh Miss Hyman Miss Mr Ireland Mr Ireland um I think can't get in he just sent me a message saying he's trying to contact and can't get in uh Mr Price I'm voting for Miss I think wiita Heyman would be a great vice president and uh I I think that she's um was just reelected by the people and um I would certainly put my support behind Miss Hyman thank you Mr sepy Mrs salagi Mrs Alvin Mrs logi Mrs logi Mr salagi and Mr Ireland uh Mrs Right with five votes miss hman your board Vice President congratulations procedures now is for me to continue is that correct yes all right may I make a few comments first please I'm honored and humbled to have the support of my fellow board members uh remember we're all equal I just get to run meetings to serve as your representative a huge thank you to Mrs Barbara salagi for her time and service over the last several years as our President we thank you Barb did a great job also a thank you to Mrs Marita Sullivan for her service over the last several years as vice president and thank you very much for your service thank you to all the board members for their service as chairpersons committee members and of course board members I look for I look forward to continuing to work together welcome to Mr Chad buers as our newest member I look forward to working with you congratulations to our new vice president Mrs Wanita Hyman I look forward to our service together I know our members are dedicated concerned citizens who love a Harbor Township and especially our school district and are passionate about providing our students with all the resources to have them Reach a successful future we all believe in providing our St our stakeholders the taxpayers of EHT an efficient safe and fully supportive system for each student in our care we are fortunate to have an outstanding superintendent Dr guio Who heads a dedicated Administration and our counselor Mrs Amy halelo who gives us the best guidance we have wonderful dedicated teachers and support staff who provide our students with appropriate tools to improve their academic and life skills I strongly support and believe in our mission Embrace engage and educate as we Embrace families and provide a safe rigorous and relevant learning experience while students are engaged and educated to become responsible for their own learning and that's a quote from our mission statement I look forward to a busy year and each of you know you may contact me at any time now let's get going thank you [Music] I believe the next item that uh agenda please I'm sorry 11.1 code of ethics all right I'm sorry I missed that I'm looking right at it okay we have 11.1 discuss the B code of ethics ethics um this Al go I believe you have to read it for us so it's up to you in the past we've done a few different things we've either read them all out loud we've asked you to read them um that's up to you Mr President um in addition I believe typically at our retreat in January we'll go over this as well in more detail I think I'd like to hold on to our retreat in in January then and have that discussion at that time okay I would just ask everyone to make sure you read it so we can acknowledge it and um that way we can sign off that everybody is aware of the code of ethics and we can talk about it in more detail at The Retreat thank you are we supposed to be having a form this evening that we are supposed to sign though is that or do we need to do that at the retreat I no we have the acknowledgement form and we'll ask everyone to sign tonight as M halalco pointed out okay thanks fine thank you all right now we have discussion of various board Representatives I'd like to hold that at our Retreat also if you if that's all right with everyone going be a chance to think about that and all of us can think about the legislative Delegate for school boards uh State and the county representative and a Hall of Fame committee board representative our committee appointments for the board retreat I'd like to have uh further discussion about committee appointments but at this time I'd like to ask that you if you're interested in serving on a committee either as chairperson or Committee Member please send me a text or an email by next Tuesday of your interest and I had wait one more thing on that oh yeah and and at that at that time we'll have a discussion and I think we can U maybe I can have the appointments ready before the evening of the retreat and then if there's any discussion we can further discuss at The Retreat for committee assignments but I'd like to know your interest ahead of time and who would like to serve as chair and on the Committees um what's next I can't see the agenda next we have Public public comments I don't have that statement in front of me for public comments uh anyone interested in speaking to the board at this time regarding public uh discussion I don't believe it's regarding agenda items it would be General items the board come up to the microphone state your name and address we have three minutes for public discussion good evening everyone my name is Lisha Heyman and my address is 18 Ur Lane a corporate Township New Jersey and I just want to congratulate everyone I am a parent I have a daughter who attends Alder Avenue a nephew who attends Alder Avenue and a niece that attends slay ball so it's great to see you all work together you seem like a wonderful board um also congratulations to you board president and my mother who's vice president I think you all be a dynamic team and um I very much interested in being a part of any parent committees that you all may have I would like to be a part of that and I know my sister would as well who's also a parent so again congratulations and you have my full support as a parent and a taxpayer thank you thank you very much anyone else from the public ditto a ditto thank you thank you very much and then we can proceed with the next item on the agenda which is oh any board in general any board comments yes please Mr sepy want to take the opportunity to congratulate the new leadership here on the board and I think you're going to do a wonderful job and I look forward to working with you so here's to uh a new year and New Opportunities together thank you anyone else yes Mr buers thank you I would like to thank uh egg haror Township as a whole for allowing me the opportunity to be here representing them looking after really one of the biggest Endeavors in this entire Community is teaching and bringing up the youth and thank you very much for giving me the opportunity thank you uh Mrs Hyman I want to sincerely thank the resident pres of a caret Township for reelecting me to serve on the aara Township Board of Education for another 3-year term I'm extremely grateful for your trust and your confidence in my ability to serve our community it is a privilege to work alongside such dedicated administrators Educators parents and fellow board members to ensure that our schools continue to provide a high quality education for every student I am excited for the opportunity to continue making a positive impact and to help guide the future of education in our Township thank you again for your support thank you m hun Mrs salagi yes it is with deepest gratitude to our egg haror Township community for allowing me to serve three more years on the board of education your vote of confidence has permitted me to serve the students and the taxpayers and I am honored to do so um congratulations to our new and our reelected board member um I look forward to working with everyone and uh we strive to maintain excellence and collaboration in all of our endeavors herey and happy New Year D thank you Dr G yes I Echo that happy New Year everyone and congratulations to our newly elected board member Mr buers and to our incumbents uh Miss logi and Mrs Heyman and congratulations Mr delar as our new president and Mrs Hyman as our vice president I look forward to working with you and I know we are a United team and we have that one focus and that's the students of the egg haror Township School District and uh supporting our teachers who have to educate them each and every day I do want to make an official announcement most of you did get the phone call that we are on a 2-hour delay tomorrow um and that is with deep deep thought not that the last couple days haven't been but um the nav navigating the township is difficult and our bus drivers are really deserve to be able to do that in daylight um you know with with um road conditions a little bit different than what they're used to um I really my heart goes out to them they have a big responsibility to get these kids in safety and I have to say kudos to everyone today our facilities Department which did a great job our bus drivers great job um getting kids um in safe staff in safe and then home as well that's that's my you know you make the call and then I I I pray that everything goes okay um but um as for tomorrow the township is is short on salt um things happen but we need that salt to um finish up what needs to be done um I want to thank Atlanta County uh Department of Transportation for assisting us with salt tomorrow so the school district will be able to use the two hours in the morning to finish the salting that needs to be done on our campuses so I just wanted to make that clear to everybody just that the guio needs sleep so she wants take it tomorrow morning that's not the case um I I won't I don't I refuse to read social media but that's the reason and uh I wish everybody a safe ride in a safe ride home tonight and a safe ride in tomorrow morning so thank you and congratulations again very Cole Mr um Can can everyone hear me yes okay so I'm I'm sorry I just wanted to say that um of course Happy New Year to every one um I haven't been at the last two meetings the last meeting I was SI and this meeting um I'm just take Taking Care of looking after my mom but um yeah yes my mother's here she's fun but anyway I just wanted to say I um I am honored to serve with um people that have like mind like-mindedness in reference to children and a carp community and the other day I had a memory pop up on my Facebook page and it was my picture from my first very first board me and in the caption it said my goal is to serve all all students and that has not changed and I'm super excited um to work with all the board members and the administration to continue um to include all children and to meet their needs so I'm just excited about that I just wanted to say that so I'll be back in person as soon as I can thank you any other comments for board members Mr President do you mind if I say something go ahead Mr Price no Ireland oh I'm sorry Mr Ireland are you I can't see you so I couldn't tell all right hope you're okay Mr Ireland thank you go go ahead thank you Mr President I just wanted to say congratulations and welcome to you Mr buers um congratulations to president Del Barka and vice president miss Hyman I know your dedication and Leadership will undoubtedly make a positive impact on our community and the future of our students um I'm wishing everybody the best in their roles um I know we have a great team and I look forward to a great year this year uh that's all I have everybody Happy New Year's everybody I can't wait to see everybody again thank you safe travels Mr Ireland thank you Mr Price Mr President Happy New Year to everyone and congratulations Mr President um I I know you'll do a great job because you were a president before and now you're president again and you were a great president and I'm sure you'll be a great president this year you kind of hit the ground running so um appreciate um the leadership and um the support over the years that you've um done um as far as education in EG harbard Township also congratulations Miss Hyman um I know we'll all work well together congratulations to U newly elected Ed Mr buyers and of course Barbara salagi and um I'm looking forward to working with everybody I'm not going to hold it because I know we're anxious to get moving it's uh quite a night out there as far as the roads are concerned so appreciate everybody coming out tonight and happy New Year thank you thank you Mr Price any other board members all right I just like comment a couple more comments on the Committees when you when you text me or or email me uh tell me what your vision if you want to be chairman of the committee you wish to lead what goals you would like to achieve during your time and um if you're going for a Committee Member how are you going to be an effective and productive Committee Member if that is your interest and regarding the retreat I know I want to go over committees that evening I want to go have ethics on that topic that evening discuss our meeting Norms again at that time uh discuss the notebooks and updating our notebooks so maybe if they have updates for each of us they can be available that evening and if you all bring your notebook we can insert them that evening into our notebook books um I believe hipster was something that came up over the past time at one of our committee meetings and we might have a presentation regarding that at that time uh keep in mind that maybe in the spring this year we will do a self-evaluation of us as board members we haven't done that in a little bit of time so I think we should catch up in the spring and please uh Mr Smith maybe we can have an update of all uh board members addresses emails and cell phones that can be distributed that evening so that we could all contact each other and have that information ready ready to each of us that'll be that'll be in our new binders when we get them all our cell phones and the whole bit all right thank you if there's anything else from any board members looking
