2021 mark would have been a a fifth grader this year his favorite color was green hence the green out day and thank you to the generous contributions of our Fairfield Community we actually were able to to collect over $1,200 for the mark Abraham scholarship fund if you don't know what that is at the end of the year we will select one sixth grade student who best exemplifies the characteristics of Mark which were kindness joyfulness selflessness and he was always eager to learn unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to meet him but I've heard wonderful things about him the selected student who wins the scholarship will be honored at a board meeting and will receive the scholarship money upon graduating high school so thank you to all of you who participated uh In This Very just us just like that well let me start up by saying thank you all for coming out tonight we greatly appreciate apprciate it and uh facing the harsh weather out there is a true Testament to how much you care about the kids in the district and and we're we're grateful to have you um I'm going to keep my president's report brief this evening uh I would like to just mention the CAG event that happened last week it was phenomenal Megan and her team did such a great job and with the help of HSA supporting it and actually helping pay for it they had the uh a speaker Tom kiring come in last week and he was phenomenal uh and and I keep emphasizing how important it is to come to these events even if you don't have a child in uh special education or that's uh receiving special services and his book um disconnected which I bought that night and have read since then is unbelievable and I can't tell you how much I related to it having a 14-year-old on how much cell phones and technology are distracting our children it's it's real it's happening I see it I see it with the kids that I coach the kids that I'm around and again thank you to Tracy and Jill for putting on such a great event thank you for Megan and her team thank you for the ehsa for helping promote it and pay for it it was truly a great event and we look forward to many more in the future um before I move forward I would just like to take a second and say Ryan thank you for acknowledging green out day and Mark uh it's an important part of what the community has gone through in the past and I admire you for keeping that tradition alive so thank you very much I appreciate it uh with that being said we're going to go to our business administrator's report Wally I just have one uh one topic um yesterday the NJ doe released the budget software for 2526 uh that allows the district to begin the budget entry process uh Mr guper and I have been meeting with regards to the budget proposals that we have been receiving from Administration and we plan to meet with the finance committee in the near future to discuss our budgetary plan for the district So within the next month or two we'll have some numbers and and um some concrete information great thank you Wally that's a great segue to board committee reports uh this meeting our our committees will be approved uh so at this point we do not have any committee reports but we want you to know that the board has made the decision to to take our committees and the leadership in those chair positions and meet with the administration and the superintendent on a bimonthly basis to really being in touch with go what's going on in the schools and with that being said although you see some names on different committees this year know that that the possibility of that changing is likely due to availability so for example um un Finance uh Miss yandoli was on Finance in the past she had a a job that uh required her to be tied up basically from 8 o'clock in the morning till 6 or 7:00 on most nights since then she has moved on and she's pursuing bigger and better things so she has more availability so with that being said the availability of the board members will kind of dictate who is going to uh be in those meetings to make sure that we always have board coverage and we can always communicate to you guys exactly what's going on with each individual committee so with that being said if anyone has any comments on agenda items only M sterney anything you sure you're the only one here do you nothing okay okay like to close that portion of the
