Thomas Cory yes Michael cof yes okay next we have the request for variance for the keeping of chickens by Brian and Cheryl D Aliva 271 Mount Hope Avenue and Fall River uh the D ala is here okay Josh are you presenting no it's me alen oh elen okay I so uh Unfortunately they didn't chime in we did communicate yesterday he was supposed to call in today everything's all set the yard's clean I've gone there a couple of times um I see no reason why he shouldn't have you know the the permit to have chickens he's got okay the only the only the only question I have on the application it doesn't say the number of chickens he didn't I believe he said it was 17 I heard something about 17 yesterday so he's here he's trying to talk Mr ala good afternoon welcome thank you I'm having trouble with the app I was on mute I was in the meeting we have seven chickens uh we have just more than a quarter acre of land um we have a chicken coop we have a nesting box uh we have the U traps you know for rodents um P control I should say um cost us about $300 for that um you know we have a plan for the Boop for uh they die um we've done everything I believe but we didn't write down we didn't write down the tickets we have we have seven at the at the moment we're looking for 12 okay so you're asking for 12 yes okay just just to review you have the rent contract in place you know there's no roosters allowed correct and we're going to set the number of chickens at 12 yes okay did we get any U correspondence from any of the abutters we did not in fact one of the letters was returned to us I guess the person has moved we've had no contact from anyone okay okay move to approve okay I'll second Tess Thomas Corey yes Michael Coughlin yes okay congratulations good luck thank you very much next we have the request for variance for keeping of chickens from Maria hit of 732 June Street Fall River ien again it's not me it's F there's been some problem he cannot log on I think he can see a portion of something uh can I switch this around to him sure all right hang on one second you want to Compu do you want me to turn the computer around yes here you go move my trees out of the way hello there you are I can hear you f I just can't see you you have a distinctive voice I understand oh no not yet um is the volume up enough no no the speaker volume you shut off right because you're using headphones all I did was trying to computer on we can hear you we can hear you I can see your it's on and here you are yeah but I can't hear him why can't I turn that off you turned off the volume they still plugged in well they're up speak they're they're on up there the volume ladies and gentlemen give us a second for technical difficulties okay can you hear me yes we can hear you folks sorry we're having a lot of technical difficulties here today um we have an applicant Mr soua who no wait we're talking about um Mar Jun Street Maria please have a seat all right 732 June Street so um I was there I've been there several times I was there today uh yard's pristine it's perfect um nice Coupe um right now part of it is covered to keep the cold out uh but there's enough ventilation for the animals um they do have extermination in place it looks like they might have had a problem at one time it doesn't seem like they do now but um I'm told that not only did the Exterminator set traps which I saw but he also fumigated a hole that he found so that should be the end of them it's a tough um tough neighborhood because there's a Dunkin Donuts next I I I saw that yes yeah but they have they have uh everything's all set they have the requisite number of animals and um they they were actually in pretty good shape before we discovered them they just did not realize they needed a permit so there's nothing really new on the property except for the extermination there were it was it was fit to be uh inhabited by chickens uh when I first discovered the property and it is to this day nice yard did you see the yard I I saw it from Google Maps I didn't have a chance to go by butter if that would be a problem well working with him he he is not he has not seen a problem to have outside extermination on the inside unless this process started he has not seen a problem there but you know on the outside okay that that that was just a concern to a congested neighborhood and in a Dunkin Donuts nearby yeah uh Mrs Le you we know you have the rent contct in place you know there are no roosters and how many chickens did you ask for 20 all right then 208 Shelby okay yeah yeah they they don't have that many but I only have nine right now yeah they don't have that many but that is the maximum they could have corre okay very good okay Michael any questions no move to approve all second Tess Thomas Corey yes Michael hofflin yes all right good luck NE next we have the request for the variance for a keeping of chickens from Antonio souer 988 Stafford Road here in Fall River I know this has come up before us a couple times are you reporting I am so at our last meeting Mr cofin uh made a very uh wise and useful suggestion that I have a a chat with Mr Souza which I did uh a few days later and I was able to fully inspect the property um we came to a meeting of the minds about some things um the uh property is very good shape right now um he advised me that um he is still doing some construction inside the house and that was at some points the reason why there was some some debris in the yard I told him that uh if the variance is approved then and it's not really singling him out we do do spot checks anyway but that I would be checking on that and anything that came out would have to be disposed of quickly but the the overgrown areas of the yard are Are all uh moan down is the in the growing season but you know we talked about that that I'm going to be checking on that in the spring it's going to keep things that way my questions about the coper answered he has a small sort of annex to his Coupe that he uses to segregate animals um for feeding purposes he has two breeds um he's right now just under the limit that he asked for that was was another issue he had um uh too many chickens um he had received some orphans and uh I think they I think the um the reduction is really by attrition but he he is under the required uh number so I'm satisfied that he's met the requirements um it's kind of a long haul but think we just needed to have a a good Earnest talk and I had to have the opportunity to have a a thorough examp mintion of the property there were a couple of items that I didn't know what they were but they were not refu they were incoming there were some um some iron uh rod iron railings um that I just couldn't see but then I got to look at them and he's going to be installing those on the property and you can you can see those from the back so I'm I'm um again it was a very uh good suggestion that we talk and I'm satisfied that he understands what he needs to do and that um you know we had a Frank talk about it that we're going to check on him to make sure that his understanding is uh is permanent okay gentlemen questions M Mr suar is aware of course of the roten contract the no roosters and keep maintaining the number of chickens correct oh you're here Mr Susan excellent yes finally some I came to see somebody cross the street of my work to help me to to do the zoom I'm not too good on that on electronic anyway thank you guys welcome okay move to approve I'll second roll call Thomas Corey yes Michael Coughlin yes Steven Gagliardi yes okay good luck Mr sua thank you to all of you and happy holidays and uh enjoy thank you uh Tess what do you have for the director's report yes so um we do have some updates in terms of Staffing um in the health department um so unfortunately um we've had two departures within the department so um cayb Petty um who was our epie um moved um from her position um so that you know that's certainly um a loss for us here in Fall River um but we have posted the EP position um and we've actually received a number you know of applicants so we're um we're moving forward with that um we also had a departure in terms of our um mass and motion coordinator um so again have posted for that position and are um actively conducting interviews there um so we have a number of job openings um not only um for the shared services Grant um but um some other um Grant funded positions in City um funded positions for for our department um and so you know I think um there was just in terms of Michaela's departure she was um looking to potentially relocate um and and therefore um sought a a position closer um closer to um where she's planning to move um so there are there are um some kind of gaps as we had a number of of projects that she was going to be working on um but are are going hoping to quickly um fill that position um as well as the others that are that are part of that shared service collaborative um so more to come on that we're also trying to get um right now we have a consultant who's been who's been doing the the coordinator um aspect of that role but we're looking to hire somebody who would be you know inhouse um for that so you know I think that that that'll make um some of that work a lot easier um and it will be a really a big positive for the grant um so we're again hiring for a cordinator um an epidemiologist an inspector and a public health specialist all for that shared under one of under one Grant the shared services Grant um and so um it's kind of a tough time of year to be hiring just in terms of of you know the holidays and um hiring committees kind of being in and out and first round interviews and second round interviews but we're um we're moving forward and and hope to have some new team members in the new year but certainly a loss for us um with both Aaliyah Anda okay very good gentlemen questions for the director no no questions but I I'm really disappointed about Michaela it was amazing to have that kind of a expertise in the department for the first time ever I know I know you know I think that that you know she was a great team member um I think you know and certainly a loss we we have had a number of applicants um that do have you know experience in Epi work um and so I think you know while well we certainly Miss Michaela you know wish for the best you know we we are receiving um qualified applicants that that's good that's good yeah it's help for I think we'll be fine as long as you don't move T move Tess yeah that's what that's what I'm worried about you know yeah so that's probably the thing we have to worry about I don't have any plans what about your family your family doesn't have any plans either I hope no we're we're hanging around that's it okay did we receive anything for Citizens input oh we did not receive anything from citizens in okay um the next item would be to confirm the date for the next meeting if we go back to our regular uh patent it would be the last Tuesday in January which would be the 28th is that good for everybody that looks fine for me okay let's go with that um can we have a motion is is there any other business to come before the board of such a nature that it couldn't make the agenda no new business very good uh we have a motion to adur who Moved second can we have a roll call Thomas Corey yes Michael Coughlin yes Stephen gagleard yes all right thank you all have a wonderful holiday we won't talk until the new year now take care
