This evening will be uh we we will provide an overview of the project and discuss the upcoming construction activities. Uh the arrow highlights on in this slide shows an area of erosion and undermining at the end of the curve which is the reason why we are doing this project. Erosion has occurred along the side of the road removing the soil that helps support the pavement cracks near the a suggest that 9 00:07:39.840 --> 00:07:59.680 the road is becoming less stable in this area. The the project scope to address the erosion issue. We are proposing several improvements. New curve gutter and storm drain will be will be helped collect and control rain water so it does not was 10 00:07:59.680 --> 00:08:16.080 rual along the roadway. Some driver will be some driveway will be replaced to match the new roadway improvements and existing water line will also be relocated. Uh reinforced grass and sword will be installed to help protect the ground from future erosion and payment 11 00:08:16.080 --> 00:08:38.159 by utility work will be to provide a safe and smooth roadway. As you can see this is the overall project scope which explained on this is the project will add curve and gutter along the east side of the Rogers Avenue 12 00:08:38.159 --> 00:08:56.360 to better control the storm water. New storm drain will collect runoff and connect it to the existing drain system on University Drive. This improvement will help reduce erosion and also protect the roadway and improve the drainage in this area. 13 00:08:57.600 --> 00:09:21.920 You can see this is the location for adding the three 10 ft curve inlet to explain the construction sequency. We have step one, two and three. On the step one, we will focus on improving the drainage in this area. As you can see, 14 00:09:21.920 --> 00:09:36.720 the new strong drain inlets and underground pipe will be installed to collect the rain water so that it can safely carried into the existing drain system. Step two, we will be f step two is this. We will be focused on the roadway improvement along the Rogers 15 00:09:36.720 --> 00:09:52.640 Avenue which is this. As you can see on the slide, a new curve and gutter will be installed to help direct rain rain water to storm drain system and reduce erosion along the roadway. On the step three, we will make sure and 16 00:09:52.640 --> 00:10:13.360 we focus on restoring and protecting the area after the construction. Turf reinforcement mat and a new sword will be installed behind the curve and in area disturbed during the construction. To summarize the work which we will be uh doing in this area, this project 17 00:10:13.360 --> 00:10:30.399 improves how strong storm water is managed in this area by installing new underground pipe curve inlets and adjunction blocks to collect the and carrying water away from the road more effectively. A small section of water line will also be relocated. Overall, these upgrades will help reduce erosion, 18 00:10:30.399 --> 00:10:52.720 improve drainage and protect the roadway from future water related damage. This work also include uh relocation of an existing gas line which is scheduled for June and July to avoid the conflict with the to avoid the conflict with the new roadway and drainage improvement. 19 00:10:52.720 --> 00:11:13.200 Construction construction will begin as soon as the utility relocation will be completed. A significant portion of their like retaining wall and stuff was built into the ride of way. Um the erosion's been going on for a while and some of that erosion is happening outside of the limits of the property. I don't know how all of that was approved. Uh, in terms of the curb and gutter, what we're planning to do is build the curb and gutter right along the face of that wall.
