##VIDEO ID:lGjJRO3J6YY## okay um welcome to the Garden Board of Health meeting it is um December 9th 2024 meeting is starting at 4:38 p.m. meeting is called to order uh first item on the agenda is review and approved minutes from September 23rd 2024 um and those minutes there were just a couple corrections made on those um we had already otherwise approved so I'll make a motion to approve second that motion all in favor I so those minutes of um September 23rd 2024 are complete sign your copy okay the second item on the agenda is um review minutes from October 28 2024 I'll make a motion for approval I second that all in favor I and the minutes of October 28th 2024 are approved next item on the agenda is the health department updates like go okay so my first update is for the uh landfill erosion repair bid um so we ordered that bid to J bat and Sun who had the lowest bid um and their cost for that was $173,400 [Music] with the weather and the way it's going it's going to be a as soon as we can in the spring kind of project um plus we'll be closer to the end of the fiscal year so it'll be a little bit easier to see exactly what we're working with here um in the meantime any of the erosion areas is there [Music] anything um there's not really anything right now it's like happened so over such an amount of time it's really it's just going to get a little bit worse over the winter um and then hopefully we'll be able to start start cracking away at that so um I did also have an adjuster and somebody from the insurance company come take a look that the erosion the weals that need replacing the ground mon watering monitoring Wells and then um anything to do with the8 system and the pumps as far as how it connects and any upgrades that were needed or any kind issues with that system that still needs to get repaired um so they're going to look at possibly making a claim oh good if it if it can we'll do a claim for some of those funds um um I'll also be scheduling a meeting after this between Public Works conservation and the health departments to kind of compare notes and try to a little bit more interaction on the just the whole area out there as far as making sure we're all on the same page perect so um and then the last thing I have on landfill is that there are some brants for uh they were originally for technical assistance for recycling uh but it sounds like they may have opened that up to more solid waste in general uh because of lack of interest in recycling only projects so uh one of the possibilities would to get um funding to hire a license s professional to help us um with the land F so working on that Grant that would be nice and I'll kind of I'll refer that to the mayor and his current writers as well to see if they can help out with that that would be perfect unfortunately all these things monies and I did put together um just a little I only have one copy right now I'll pass it around but it's kind of what's historically the results for dioxine at the landfill were um so um starting in like 2009 that's the first results I could find um we were testing at drinking water limits and then 2010 it got raised um for some of the wells and not all the wells and then starting in 2018 is when everything was getting tested at this uh 250 parts per billion reportable limit so 2018 to 20123 is being tested at that there was nothing detected at that limit because as you can see everything is kind of down in the 8 to 20 range so it wouldn't have been detected at that level so um that's where we're at with our new round and and the results we had there so so those are the different Wells yeah these are well numbers up here and and what's the the um if it's blank um so anything over three that's what three actually so it's really these two three it's three so even this one oh okay yeah okay well then all of them it's okay that is the the drinking water standard so um and our our primary contact for cc has been out of state for most of the last month so I did put it on his radar that I would like him to call him speak at the meeting so I'll see if you might be available for the next one slow down a little bit over the Wonder so um and he also he worked at rman cell before so he might have the child some that together so are they the ones that were doing it or they the ones that are doing the testing now they were doing it up until about 2012 okay and now CC's doing it yes okay [Applause] that's all I have on the landfill as far as anything updates um so I mean along with all the you know been you've been busy with getting things together and unfortunately time takes I think the biggest thing which will be really helpful is having us all sit down at the you know all the different departments and groups and stuff so we can get that if you have any questions Alan that you want us to you know present you can feel free to email Micah and I um and we'll present them at that time but I think that's a good good step forward plus all the I know it's not been easy trying to track down all this stuff but hopefully we'll get you know I think we're getting a better picture of everything yeah yep it's um yeah still a lot to figure out yeah there is but I think it'll be very helpful to have everybody sit down at the same table so yeah okay that does that me you set up no no establish it he was uh he was out of state so I'm gonna hopefully schedule that with him it will be a regular Board of Health meeting yeah okay so that's with the CC yeah and mik is going to invite everybody to come at the same table so it has not been done yet so I know you're going to go to the Conservation Commission meeting after this but it's not been done yet but that is our plan is to invite everybody to communicate got so that would that would be the DPW and yeah yeah yeah I think we need all need to be on the same page so if you have any specific questions that you would like like us to address from our you know you can um certainly feel free to email them and we'll bring them up okay good thank you um so next is just our regular inspections um again we had no food born illness complaints since the last port of he um just one General complaints 22 routine inspections and re inspections we are expecting Chipotle to be up in morning here pretty soon um and then tata's bond is moving into Crown where Crown Fred chicken used to be so that'll be a what did they make uh it is like Puerto Rican food she has like a a mobile unit that she operates around so now she's moving into town nice permanent situation so is Chipotle I meant to ask you this before are they going to be a dine in or just a a takeout they'll have seating they will have seating y okay yep just like a pretty standard chot set up so um for housing inspections and Property Standards we had 15 new cases uh we've closed nine and so we still have 30 open cases um so every month there's kind of been more opening that are closed moment um for prevention Outreach she has game changers program at the mount WUSA Community College she's working on Project Redemption um have some new participants from the Fitchburg L area she's doing gcat chats the VNA Care Central she's doing a recovery panel at matusa Community College as part of the pathway program for students uh she's planning a purple paw event for April as well as planning a health and wellness fairs for April um it would be involving in the schools the high school or the middle school she we're so fortunate to have her have that position under the board yes very yeah she's always out there doing her thing and she does a great job um that is all I have on my list for for updates for this month um any new business or nothing um okay so that next meeting we're into 2025 wow there is the 20th is a holiday Martin Luther King day so it' be either the 13th of the 27th um we are going to have a yeah any day after the because we are going to have a hearing for the next four Health meetings okay right right right so it would either have to be the 13th or the 27th what um it's one of the to violations that recently happened course of hearing I mean is it time sensitive or no not not right now no um I can do either of those so I don't know what works better for you either one really um one um do the 27th sure and then
