the fiscal year commencing July 1 2024 and ending June 30th 2025 we're also opening for public hearing on school choice for fiscal year commencing July 1st 2024 and ending July 30th 2025 in regard to the budget as required under chapter 71 of the general laws as amended in 1972 by the addition of section 38n the school committee of each City town or Regional School District shall hold a public hearing on its proposed budget proposed annual budget after publication of a notice there of a newspaper having General circulation in such City town or District to which such hearing May from time to time be adjourned all interested persons shall be given the opportunity to be heard for or against the whole or any part of the proposed budget therefore in accordance with Massachusetts General law and as advertised in the state of times on April 14th 2024 this is a public hearing of the proposed greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School District elaborating cost budget for fiscal year commencing July 1 20224 and ending July 30 2025 does any interested party wish to be heard for or against the whole or any part of the proposed budget none I make a motion that we approve the or adopt the budget I move that the greater new Beford Regional Vocational Technical High School District committee adopts the final operating and capital cost budget commencing July 1st 2024 through June 30th 2025 in the amount of 52 m721 985 please note that this amount includes $400,000 from end and in voting approval of the budget you are voting to authorize transfer of that amount into the fiscal year 25 Capital Renovations line second favor post as required under Massachusetts school choice law contained in the education Reform Act of 1993 the school committee of each City town or Regional School District shall hold a public hearing on school choice after publication of a notice thereof in a newspaper having General circulation and such City Town information we're going to certify the treasures [Music] assments that's actually further along in this is just the public hearing for the budget we're going to adopt the budget further around in the agenda and that information will be in the adoped SE I make a motion that we uh refuse the school choice because the uh the area the our uh our district is over subscribed now second all in [Music] favor the party will be held on Tuesday April 23rd 24 5:00 in the student Forum Mrs F do we have any public comment for our meeting tonight you and a new business um first point is adoption of the greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School District operating and capital cost budget for fiscal year commencing July 1 2024 and ending July 30 2025 um we had a motion need a motion to accept make a motion to accept the budget as is motion we need a motion to approve the treasur certification as previously stated um oh sorry I think there's two two separate things under that there is I'm working on the motion for the second one now um the second motion we need the treasure treasur certification on April 23rd 2024 with the assess assessment level levied in accordance with provisions of Section 8 chapter 428 acts of 1971 as amended by chapter 769 acts of 1972 upon the city of New Bedford in the towns of Dartmouth and F Haven for 12 months operating in capital cost budgets from July 1 2024 through June 30th 2025 for greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School as follows Dartmouth 6,597 53 Fair Haven 2, 63014 and New Bedford 6,257 536 if we can have a motion so move all in favor I right next is a vote for or against school choice I know um had previously in the hearing section discussed would you need a formal Motion in this portion of the meeting to for or against school choice make a motion that we turn down school choice because of over subscription second all in favor last vote is a vote to approve the business manager salary scale included in your backup material as a copy of that information I don't know I'll just quick comment as we discussed last month during the executive session under under the non union negotiations um the business manager position has never had a salary scale with the district and I brought brought to the to line that position up with the executive director's salary scale previously been supported um and now we took action the executive session but we need to take action to the public session as well make make a motion we approve question all in favor I any committee discussions members I'm just not clear on motion the first motion we actually vote on what it says in that motion it wasn't read motion I'm sorry everybody's been kind of going back and forth on motions and the D and the and the transfer of of the funds to the capital renovation so we'll go back to item one under Section A just to make it clear so we can so Mr Tumi made the motion consistent with what's read what's there um during the hearing portion if you'd like to redo it during this part I think that's okay as well Miss B Court just so we have it both sides um that's okay so we do need to revisit the motion um that the greater
