voting on anything so uh just be a conversation just talking thank everyone that's here today if you are in your audience I've been told that microphone is very sensitive so you're chattering it's probably going to pick up some of the stuff that you're saying also so is at this time we will and also at the end we will at this time I don't know so we do have a agenda sheet here we go do that I'm let go first IDE qu thank you everybody coming out and I know this wasn't the easiest thing to pull off but I think it's going to be good for us going forward I really really do because when you have Sunshine come your check but when you have the sunshine laws that we follow uh it's hard for us as Commissioners I can't pick up the phone and call and say hey Jack what do you think about hey hey hey Quinn can you get this so this gives us the opportunity we saw an inform formal setting to come up with some things ideas that we have that citizens have talked to us about and so what's passionate for the other Commissioners becomes passionate for me then because I get a better understanding of it and it's important to have staff here because some of these ideas that we may have had y'all may have done them in the past you know R new we may not know what you did 20 years ago or something like that so we can vet the new things that come up this is these are some of the the problems we've run into before or this is what it would cost or this is where we're at with that so that was the idea of especially early in January as we look for this year going forward what are we going to do going into the budget cycle going into our legislative platforms what is it that are on all our minds what is it that g county need turn 100 this year say it every it's one of my things turn 100 this year and it's a good second 100 years on the map way way we want to make sure we're the right so that's thank you all for doing this I know it took time out of schedu but I hope that it'll it'll pay off ones I have so the first one that I that I came down I guess Mike asked put on there uh was the the our our ABC Economic Development our plans with that with uh floating Drive do Fort and with the airport and those things so Jim can you give us like a quick update what youv it is time of we look back what we just did and we're and we'll get to where what you just asked about I gave you I want to present to you the year uh the first on your first page you have what is now again January 1 was our top Employers in G County uh for the first time in an awful long time since Papermill closed a private employer is now our number one employer sh buing with 486 employees although they have more than that on the site now Department of Corrections it's now 310 and the School District 300 you can see on down there you with County and constition office 224 is the next largest private employer with 165 you got other health entities nursing home City child 64 only restaurant on there is the Shipwreck 58 employes Des cattle has 54 and the two Fisheries have around 50 largest private EMP is Eastern and then ension is the the next largest one uh as far as public dep Direction one district has been previous several years School District 38% of Count's Workforce 539 is employed top employes and the school district 6 11% of the work so um that's just that's just a fact a tool for you to have moving to page number two looking at where we are now we started the year with 355 employees in Department Corrections Easter had 110 Andre they incre it's now about 486 for inreasing 376 added 65 they're now 310 so between the two of them they added 441 jobs in in 2024 uh it's important and when we're getting ready to talk about we understand the Eastern growth in jobs occurred because they had they got a contract to finish two ships that were 50% done so all of a sudden they had a their schedule of of work here added two ships beyond what they expected all that's why it just blew up you it blew up to 400 and some Ys it probably be 250 300 um that will go on in 202 that will continue in 25 those pre ship down there are going to be there the whole year um after that there's so much work we look at that a little bit but after the next two years that's when the maintenance make this overhaul repair fa that accelerated work schedule always be there we're not always have new ships that to move in at that pace unless it's something surprisingly happens um let's see the uh I miss so anyways um and then looking forward what we know the one thing we know is going to happen next year is the anex is going to open the GOL anex is going to open and that's going to add 140 more jobs on the north on the north county giving 450 and that will that will bring our job to to 936 just in those two areas that total 936 is more jobs than we lost we lost the paper mill all the chemical plants and everything else now admittedly they don't be in terms of salaries and benefits but the jobs back in the building days were real and they were they were so I these are good jobs but they're not like those were great jobs I remember one of my neighbors used to a yearing the bill back in those days he Dro $3,000 the leave there so that's but that's why it's important we talk about the Mr a little bit because uh the schedule work will not always be there the other thing the one thing that is a better better than had uh is the um s of used to be everything sou of the county all now with Easter being a big player on the south end prison getting up to 450 jobs now we split we split it north and south and the jobs areed uh just mov to your next tab you'll see I just included a picture of what the shipyard look like in 2022 that's the whole purpose that picture now go to the next one and look and look at the shipyard look at all the facilities and buildings and sitting there that's what's Ur in the last the last two years the um the three ships that we working on now are sitting there future projects is on the next page that's four C have have there next year and a Fisher Island F fol don't know F island is the richest community in Florida they have a highest per C anywhere in America at $25 million in per cap income people live there there only 561 people live there over wiy anyway that's that's just just a picture country you to see um I was asked about Eastern ship building jobs and what we currently have and I got a vacancy list to look at and it was really remarkable because a year ago we had a officially had 150 200 jobs down we had 50 vacancies now we have 48 something jobs and we have a a total backyard 25 that did not occur by accident it occurred because we actually play a little small part Eastern call we about it we got wece involved and they they were able to work not only improving the situation here but their other two facilities their vacancy rate is 5% which is amazing I mean that number of jobs so ironically it's a little fac City so that's oh and and now and then the next thing I was have to look about training Eastern offers on the job training for the jobs that they consider 1C 2C and PRC you can see carp SE ship all those jobs they do on the job training uh they partner with 12 local schools for welding Carpenters electricians design the welding program we is right now involved with a joint project with Easter to build a what a re for the for the off offshore um they uh they recoup in Gul County County actually our welding program couple times a year uh and they provide um supplies give supplies and they help the C currently with tech for elip this year and plans are for shipit and pip a lot of stuff going on you can always do more training but you know it's important to them they got these project have to get done training stuff happen now on to what you asked about the over rep go back on page on you said we got appr with painting does that mean got go to take class we don't have AIP there at all yet they Easter up there no would yes at this point they would have to go there in the future where we work with the schools because if we're going to my thing is if we're going to shift over and get this Dry Dock that's going to be electrical jobs collect stuff like that there's going to be retrofitting these ships or fixing a niche part of the ships that we have okay so we need to have a trained Workforce for our kids I could so maybe something work to doip work with somebody the other thing the career shorts does is if you identify something they can put what they call together strike teams to set up programs for short periods of time that be year two years to get you lined up to do so that might be a project we take career short 717 all right so the next Pages this is that's what this is this is an old one our probably look better we got one that's that's all it is it's perpendicular to the buan the you dig a 45t trench uh underneath it the ship floats in it it floats it up takes it out of water and and that's how you and that's how you raise the ship the where you can work um at present um we we have a a request in uh to try for 4.5 million on a $74 million poject that's what it costy the floating install it um the the rest of the money be paid off lease payments by Eastern they released the the dry from g county g county would only the floating Dy if something goes bad 10 years from now g county owns the even though it's paid for uh with with Triumph funds and the lease payment so so it would be an asset for County reason that's a on the overse was the one that submitted the grant get awarded then it goes to Grant Administration and I you know is bened by our our grant service all right so reason I'm saying that we all know about the Triumph gr gr R it's not tied to school systems your probability of getting it is very they would they would tell you that that's where you guys come in and our legislators come in uh you know this is a world C uh it's tough for us to get it's tough for us to get jobs we we Eastern because we got an appropriation in 2017 that's best $6 million State of Florida ever appropriate okay but you know it's hard for us to get jobs and and this creates the kind of jobs and keep what we're saying now keeps the jobs folks if we don't do this we won't have 486 jobs here three years from they're not their work loads not going to keep going in pce is right now so um so that that's argument for the is that we're a small County this is what we need um and try to other things I I don't know most people don't know for St Joon is the furth city from the interstate system of any city in Florida which excludes us from trying to get manufacturing jobs is how do most people want to ship products and produ and put them on the interstate so it's hard for us to recruit this one this one is something that can be done in our there are no there are no famous overhall repair facilities from Tampa Florida mobile there's a great for and it just makes sense it's a big lift and you're right it's going to be a big Li for us to get TR put that money in but if we were spending money and we were all going to sit down I assure you at today we make this this this this is our future and we then are out of the business of recruting manufacturing J this is enough jobs how many jobs we go support in terms of manufacturing we had none now we're up to 486 it's going brought back to 200 something we don't do this that's I gu heard Mr chome talked about you know what are we doing for jobs and if we if we put our focus on something to me looking at it economic develop people find you you know we talk about Economic Development you go out and find them most of the time they find you they're going to find us because of that Port we know that that's one of our biggest things that we have is that port to help our whole County to do that and so what I was thinking is is we've got Port we need to get the Port Authority across there maybe have them involved with the land that we have over there so when we do get the dry do there may be a that we can do an incubator project in a in a building that supplied there so then we have a longterm plan for that going forward you talked about the mill I got that those days are gone these kind of jobs or high paying jobs we may become the niche of making props we may be a propulsion place here you know right now it's going to be hard to compete with Aviation with what they're doing in Panama City they've got the largest Strike Force around the country right right down our street here which is going to for some of our people but they've teamed up with Haney they've teamed up with FSU they've got that highend you saw how much Trump money went over was it 90 million went over there to them so it's not that big of ask but we can support ours with this or so that's why I brought I said this Dry Dock we need to get it over the the top with whatever we can do and if it does mean the school system I think that's something that I think it's important you bring up good point we all need to we need to realize this is the perfect for the port because support's not really important you know I go I'm the one that offered the grant to get the $15 million you know for the channel reg they've not got the rest that money that project sets money County St Joe company controls all of the the property along there there is only another tht bul head available um and just very honestly that the cost of bringing if you talk about bringing a PT up the Shing all rail line all it comes and go that's 3 milon that's just not going to happen it's not going to happen now the best use of that P area is what we're talking about here we've already got really down there let's make use of enhancing that and then at that point we protect 3 400 jobs down there uh the repair job these jobs would be a little higher payment so I just think if we're looking what's the best use we have in that area that's it that's my I totally agree I totally agree with that I just think that it needs to become a focus for us because that is our ass and to do that let's let's get hangy at the table with What It Takes think about the incubator project with for is and I know that we haven't got them on our list today but that's something that we've got to look at because that's the piece of property right there J jining there so we use that dry do to our advantage okay CU it's a niche we have a niche then and then we have this place across the street where they can have the training whatever it takes for that we get kids on both ends of our County and we maybe get kids coming over to our County then because when they come here that this is our nich that's why I think it's so important that we let's get this up the Finish Line with tri including our schools I mean that they need to be you know our superintendent needs to be pushing that just as much because those certifications and I do know that these certifications that they're offering our kids can pass here I know that so that that that aspect of it could help and we've got P come over here and teach I just I just wanted to just anybody else please jump in because that's I just I just ask TI to think it is TI School train know we're at the point where we have a limited number of PS we always basically in this county5 that's what works out and we have a lot of PRS and my discussions with in the past is that if we add something we have to delete something because you got a certain number now this becomes our priority a couple thing other things probably need to be deed let's move on to what but I totally agree that prioritizing working with it collaborating all that stuff is what makes it more sa to theard and passation anyways so your ideas are sound they make sense and operation one make thees that have that yeah and well unfortunately the truth is if you look at their funding 85% of projects funded not given money except for that that what is the little the but most money is educated [Music] but this would be our big and I tell you put all hands on De on this you know I really do think that it would and and I know schedules and I know how many you have seniors but this is we're talking about four five years down the road with with AI the number of people going elri are see the job list here a minute it goes on and on and on so um I did uh I did the the the type of jobs that we used when we doing this application first time this5 already of for St J and you can see welders cters plumbers electricians marine engineers Naval Architects machinists layout workers and this is this is D the Sal that are also on there they're probably 25% under what they are this done 21 but you can go through that your I don't think you want to go through everything but there's a list of every job that it adds up to 215 at the bottom of the the last page of that on page that's what project Mr 215 jobs specifically in the M repair and there's a list of every job the salary it pays nationally andp Pay Here add 25% salary way I would get this reported got Lio I will give credit to to our property M she they were trying to that that building dra was was not attached to proper for the county and Warrior had done this research and all that they still still weren't prevailing and Rich went and found the law and said exactly what that structure was and definitely it as a tangible taxable piece of property and quot right down to what you wanted to say so get for effort little more involed representa fromo system you know jump back into it to help I mean we we have legis delegation meeting that's a good starting point but you have that 27 coming to meet me y I have the list of things and that's on the top of the list what we ought to be talking them about they even though they're not on the tri board believe they and obvious I think repres education there's more than just that greatest there's several other agencies that they're on board with this it makes our application with them better so that all right um moving on the um skyboard um sky is a now has a partnership with attic industrial build small un drones facility the first drone yesterday tomorrow they intend they plan to break ground sometime the next say before the end of spring on the hanger and the idea is they're going to build the small drones in the facility and the passenger size drones that will be built in the hanger airport uh if you look on the second page you can see a composed the picture what the Hang would look like and you can see what one of the drones look like from the inside so the picture on the first p is the table mark on the left the right is the one that would be for a passeng they have a number of contracts consideration I like the rep home we've had Sky all on it's kind of delay but this is the most activity I've seen in a long time there are major press releases out there everywhere on what's going on and so I just give you the update of what I know it seems to be going in a positive direction right now the county has we have completed all our work in terms of road infrastructure water and silver hookups for that and we got gr money 2020 that get anyways that that's the project out there and that's where we [Music] stand they actually had delivered on Tuesday the first one from this Atlantic industri who is a and they partnered with starty they're assemble there they're un I got pictures of this morning and so then they put the IDE to begin to build those assemble build those DRS in this facility up here and then the bigger version would be built the Hang so some of other board MERS know we TI the road the agreement was purchased the airport that he need as property to put the road in we got money from what is now called the department of commer Ecom devel Adra F that's where that money came from we and that was just tell the story they we had a certain amount of money to do project because of Co blah blah blah project got to be too expensive we finished uh we finished the road of the water didn't have the money to do the sewer and electric uh in the interum a private entity bought the property along the other side of the road and they ran a sewer line and it cost us $5,000 to hook that sewer line check off that $16,000 and then because of the demand by there that there be in the area electrical service dropped so we ended up having enough money based on the original Grant in 2020 to finish what we said we were going to do to support that and correct if I'm wrong was it 20 or 19 that we agreed we started that process the road the grant came in October M October on f okay uh moving on U again this is what I see ISC goals OB for the year we already talked about that first one is fail we got to be all in more than I was thinking we got to be all in with this project Howard Creek Work Camp is now a possibility folks it's not going to happen this year but when the legislator our legislators come we need to bring that up gets a work gold county has a chance to get it because we were the we were the most staffed facility they had that's Reon they opened upx again we were Staffing our prison out there uh so we if anybody gets one so I think when the legisl not going do this year but we to be talking about it when they come visit us that we want that Work Camp back because that benefits all the municipalities and school system in Camp affordable work I think is our greatest need in this County it's something you're going to hear us talk about just in in terms of talking to the legisl speak them keep that in their mind I don't don't have a specific request this minute we sure I'll working on it uh we will have some things for you in the next month or two on that but uh that's that's the we're getting with pry jobs we got people moving in a guy guy moved in across the street from my house bought the house every Works in eastern guy St so that stuff's happening but we uh we need more places for them to live here's a unique idea i i f this with some of the counties around us uh and and again I think it's probably too late to get this year but they did a $22 an hour up to $20 starting Sal for cor officers and when they did that that's when g s but I I didn't need keep plugging to get that number up to $25 an hour in future years so that they can afford housing and and and we need again the point to make every time you spend a salary dollar it it turns over four times Community uh that that kind of increase go $22 an hour to $4 an hour you have 26 million on on our our jobs1 million impact on our economy so it's a this is a good thing not going to get it this year but I think we put it in their head keep keep pressing those corre off job because they're the most off and all these SC ground what the number one quarter is other than now us Easter everyone of their employer is prison now we have a temporary situation here I think prison will take over again eventually but still this year it's not and the last last thing was we can get money for the world infrastructure money infrastructure Grant growth M just continue to encourage our legisl to keep supporting that at the same level not asking ask if you can support that that funding source for Rural infrastructure that's what we see as the things that we would like to ask our legislative delegation for I think we need to modify the first one some of the discussions we had that what we putain Circle back and I think I'm excited to he and I think that's got to be our driver I really do when we first started talking about EAS what we we were talking about diversifying our economy we have such a when everything fell out you know the hous market now hous Market has come back and we we have vibrant service industry I think UL we still have to diversify and I think what said about you know moving forward I think we need to be more involved on this this's go TI into Workforce hous one thing I hear and I talk to people a lot in different are I'd love to live in I'd love to live in County I can't afford to you know was there we would have I think we have a lot more people moving middle class working County right now I tell them all the time he I didn't have my house already I could we have got we got to be d% I think we' got to go that I appreciate if the board doesn't mind um the person that's probably been your hang up is was a guy I've worked with before hot FL he is he is the education guy on there and I've a long time with yall if yall don't mind I I'll I'll kind of jump in this wide open if yall want to because we worked he worked in I was LE on Hees I know that's what I'm saying I'd be excited for you to take that that's one of the things I put it on he Mak calls out that I mean that's that's why IAL about the education I know it's not going pass if we don't have certifications which I think we can on these and I think our kids can take the pass I'm worried about clawbacks on that we all know about clawbacks they've been dealing that a lot of these counties but with our pass r these are things our kids can pass I know they pass we don't have to worry about that back we [Music] go 100% pass rate on on our nursing and so that that's that's a so hey look you give us the money look we got aov track record here going forward we we're a lot of kids that graduate noton they don't want some kids just don't want Toge certification they go out $25 0 an hour some [Music] they're all going out a lot of going out to Tex hour there you what they want to come home so we need to make sure they'll have a job they want to come home the job want to be there we know they're there but what we got to do is make sure we got one of the things work the workforce out going talk about it but make sure we have in our minds that in Gul County MCH did that chart for us our average home is way above the state average but yet our income is way below the state average so that's why we're physically constrained but we we have a problem here that nobody else a lot of people don't have that just because of numbers you know one of the facts Isle are income is one of the highest in the area but it's not that it's a real number because we got a lot of people move here that made this to primary residence and some of those people make $500,000 million a year and we don't have that many excuse our numbers we look like we really are making a lot that number is still way below the state average so but yeah we I bring ATT to% of and very little money available for modate and work stce talking so I just wanted to make sure you all see what that number really is for County you know a family of four Workforce is money available in County everything's not our calling it's but I wanted to have a really good look at terms as statan not maximum ask question come and way people sh I think I think what is saying everything's going to increase over time and if we put this number on at the bottom of we are only asking this to be appli to money and so that only know the reason why we chose the5 that's what that's the most Mone minut explain people has yes so that is a grand agreement we're actually second already closed out the first one for Hurricane Michael in total we got almost million wor of they had a to are no EXs actually EXs but cannot Beed fur so the money that we curron money has to be sent and the house has to be they have to be a to take in the house byun buun there restri 20% must be spent inals that it Construction conru and hard um look at page Maxim know have maximum Deb to inome because these people areow inome out or l jobs or they don't have fin don't recovery grp and try to you know we've had people you that have buy a mile home and you know a lot of people one of the [Music] lot unless it's own people [Music] a lot of is um but we're doing everything in and avity [Music] f h so my next question is what are the other counties are got people that's in the same we ask we ask are they allowing some type of appeal or anything the money must be whatever is UN June must be returned to State later SE 15 the a lot of a lot [Music] of money situation you okay you have $150,000 whatever I think 15 there but it was very high whereas we started out 4ow 50 and 60 start so will we actually created a we've done this for ship but anyone that gets ship that would qualify for [Music] hhrp have we have asked Laur um so we have talked to the state the state is very pleased with our out they don't have anything else to offer us we've take and they'll get a letter says your time's up week I shows us us contract and I told people you know on a real estate purchase contract protect yourself use know right now [Music] we, is so let's and this Outreach idea very good job if I give you an example there's a hurricane mam house and there's RV somebody theyif for H around they can't make, that's problem that's put lot in home that's an option but we can't buy and know C insur you insur have AB hot C [Music] they [Music] and re Max asking they do not app app old andc they us only l000 some years still years but if you have a and I'll say if you have a 30e bank that 10 years would satisfy you still have years gotis yes [Music] doesn't undo [Music] [Music] basic two chances get [Music] ,000 what up that's and last whatever [Music] app we are you know change [Music] EXP do [Music] I don't have fing not in my I amang also my oob oober all right I've got number nine on there you're look living Shoreline this is just basically information and seeing your thoughts on it um if you've gone on the other side of carel between carabel and call East Point right there basically where the the high school go left High School you look over the right hand side you see a bunch of rocks out there formations and all that it Pi my interest when I went by said what this and so started doing some research about two years ago looking at it in their process they did they just completed it and I talked to the guy that came to our last couple meetings ago came and talked about some of the stuff they were doing with that living Shoreline so basically it's a way to create structures and it in creates uh a habitat for fish M and stuff like that it also gives a little bit of protection it's not going to protect your Ro a wash out of a micel but it does give you a little bit of protection there a milestor so I started thinking looking at how view right there yall know where the bridge is how view where the canal is you look for the canal back over there to where the old buters used to be that looks very similar to what they did in Franklin County so I started calls and the they came over and actually looked at some aerial photographs and it's a it's a process to go through but I did not want to keep going forward without y'all KN and thinking that that's a good idea as well because basically it'll take board approval to to start going after grants it's all grant funding that's what they did it's all paid by grants and so if you look at where that was you had some state land then you have a lot of individuals that had property that own on both sides of the road County so they had to give permission over there and and they had some struggles to begin with but once they got them in and now I've talked with a person that's actually done the research on it they have trout growing red fish I mean they're they're they're booming now they got the grass behind it the the wildlife was really picking up there and uh so the people that were kind of doubting it said Hey how do we get it now so they're trying to go to a second round of funding over there and so I to ideas if y'all thought that was a good idea going forward it does have a aspect that it cleans up the water that comes out it's not going to say it's going to make it pristine but it does have that because it grows I think right there we might could have some Moes grow there not to harvest but to fil for that water uh there's a couple of inlets that come out one comes from windmore one comes from H view there and we put some structures in there you know uh we have to be we have to per own owners own that land there I think would be a good thing I increase their value of their land so I just want to know R thaten anybody question [Music] step but I I didn't want to go down there because what happens is the next step is they come over there we get permission to start doing the testing the testing is free I think it's FSU Branch does it they come out there take core samples and say hey is this going to work with this you got to have places where you can go in and actually set the rock before a went down that road I want to make sure everybody knew that that was what it was in case you heard it if thought was a good idea uh if you look at it we've got some projects going in that I call the other end of the day with the SE grass protction and all that they're doing a good job up in there but when you start coming out towards this end you know we don't have a whole lot going on a lot of that grass that used to be there it's gone it's it's not there so this is a chance to get some of that rock grass and stuff like that hopefully put back in there uh it was brought up probably four Michael in when windmar was there on that corner of Windmark they had D he said that's a great idea y'all go for it s to a company said we don't want to do that CU they were the of that so research has been done that that was probably a good place to put it you know just around that corner so that is a that's that's the next step you know talk with property owners and then have the testing done and then you go out to Grant say hey good project we've got it we can replicate what they've done over in Franklin County so they don't have to reinvent the whe and they know the sources it's all all Grand put it out there this isim that well so that that's the question cuz you know you see that low tide when it goes out we don't know how far it is because when you got low tides these winter Tides it's out there 100 yards offshore so I don't know how far that's that's what they were determined that's some of the research when they do the drilling or bindings of that sand and stuff out there that would be where they say that's optim plac lot of people Mish there and so yeah yeah because that's that's some of the things but we could work around where that is because when you put those structures in there like they've done over there they still mullet fish over there and they still bring they're bring in trout stuff that's that's the reason I was saying that we still going to have places in there and Stu like that won't build full of I don't think we build full of so um and and the reason I said oers is I walk that that canal in there's or I think you know just looking at I think it's a good the guy that came looked at said looks like good sight so just I was and the next thing I have was a budget Appropriations they're coming on the 27th and I know Jim said something about that you know what what what are we looking at request cover that l this were St it's ass re process airport we ask forp we don't have the number this year we've St chch gu one thing is MERS know I've hadb from day onep I can't find I haven't had a positive conversation a person in my district uh and if this board so we had one last thing went out when we signed a contract there was some hesitancy on that which my understand it's a $50 million they were going to put up $50 million in land so that's Val what an $50,000 AC I signed on that that land is worth $50,000 on federal application I had that's SC um I heard that it was going to be an economic driving engine number of jobs I just find that a hard the follow our court down there I'm all in on that one there going to be jobs folks I don't see this airport bring job I you know I'm very nervous about saying this but I I just don't think this is a prior County on Airport these are millions of dollars we're asking for well it's all grant money we're going who's going to manage that we're going to have to manage that I mean that's that's time we can be putting on the Dy off that's time we be putting on break water that's time we be putting on a lot of things in this account and that's just I hate police somebody shed some light on how this is this is a part it's good hear and then that's what i' love to hear commission I had I had which iove real concern about contract and I supported from Ecom stand I've got concerns myself know I mean I wish somebody would s me on you know D from you know you can MEC standpoint I'm all in I age you that's and I said concerns about the contract on last especially going into our legislative act you know you you read a lot of the stuff coming down what you're going to get I've even heard that you're going to get three 31 million heard said on sideon I don't know if that's going to happen that's what they said you know then we talk about the Renaissance for our small counties well that's we need to H it now buddy we need to get it while we can what is our priority what's going to be best for us I uh I don't think company a company sell land is I just to be honest with you I don't see that hoping um I I know we put money into it and it may be 10 15 years from now it may something to uh the people that are flying right now they're going in there's one person on this side that has an air and I know on this side talk about I know rest on the C go to it that's going to be harder it's quicker go toold I don't want to get in that I know I've talked some of the people over there too I don't want to get into a contest with them because they're trying to grow theirs most of the people that are flying in down there they're that's closer to us over there so what they're doing over there they're going to they're increasing there they hired a full-time person now that airp is probably going to get a little bit bigger I mean they've got some jets flying in there and all that tell me something good about it I mean I I have people I want to tell it to you know there ask to me a lot of them don't know about it the ones that do know airport where that's what here so that's I wanted to say that out there especially before we go to legisl we only get one ask out I mean I know I've had a lot of people as me about last couple months and and that would give us aines one thing I did build operation I mean if it truly is for emergency evacuations and bringing in bringing in those things I don't know how many I'd like to know the research on how much is brought in by fixed wing and not brought in by TR that I mean if talking I just think that what what is the benefit and we're just discussing here I'm not to the to the Common Man in go County you know what I'm saying so and that's what I here you know and I I said I did support it initially and I did from economic standpoint to the everyday resent of County what is benefit of airp at this time and I hear the same thing you do and these people ask me why we go airport you know and I mean if it's benefit it's not the workers middle class is and and that's that's my question if you can show me from an economic standpoint where it's a I'm [Music] all question yes l l I'll be re r all and I was there with you during we Ian we we had some struggles but and like I said I did support the airport ini I guess and we're here to discuss that's why we're here you know and U but I I want you to convince me of econom in this I how many job how many you know you don't say and that's what that's what I want to look at you know I'm being perfectly honest I hear the same how say we take the direction of know that's those props 10 Rus of that Ian I'm not saying do I'm just being honest what I'm hearing in the public you at the end of the day it I think I think it be possibility D Poss Frank count a how much that's BAS this one is going to be tied to the dve do like an industrial type so are we as a board okay so let's let's take that let's take that and it does that makes that does make some sense I think we could possibly sell that that hey we get this Dry Dock we Industrial Road coming up we've got an industrial type airport this is going to be the fly and stuff like that we're not making it for people to build houses all the way around it and make personal so this is all going to be industrial land around it and then C tractor that's what so all the land around that is to be industrial I could buy what is now I buy AB so let me that would be that would be this so we talk to the common people here this is not the niche airport that's going to fly millionaires down here houses this is more long it's going to be all industrial around there it's going industrial down to that dry do this is going to be industrial type and it also serves uh emergency side so we should probably look at put emergency service state of theer out there the largest tower when we get fired we'll talk about that so this all needs to be one conceptual thing that we have a dve do that goes into Industrial Airport Industrial land r c so that's a plan when we go forward to these grants in all that so when we're doing it I just just think out loud I know that Franklin is going to do teaming up with and I think they're going to have talking about flight mechanics and stuff that's not going to have two they're not going to have one we're going to have can't get enough students to do that however those jobs good we can send we'll have people work on I don't think our Focus needs to be on say fix Aires here I if we're going to have the airport it needs to be tied to that Port because the rail that don't did years ago makes across the country so that's going Drive I think they drive more I Agee we need to make sure we got the P the has got to be in here with us got to get that need to be one of our legisla things we got to get make sure we got our board functioning de think as I guess when they have a areed that have maybe some experience or some industrial experience that can help us with how this works because try to drive do like I said there coming in doing that kind of thing Industrial Drive and then you have an industrial type commercial type airport out there that can fly in this type of thing I think that's a plan going for it utilizes our Assets in County Max El all service all the Ma [Music] it's it's it's called a drive dog in an airport and you got I called incubator y going to learn that is that where the port is now that's where you put these new businesses it's like a whole thing for us there almost got a name that's our this was what was other the rail that had going to G which I agree totally we don't want to go down that road do it all ourselves make it work that way there was a study they name yeah and so it's not worksh be I just a lot better appropriation just said we can tie that remember we got ask and you're he so we're doing this I think Warren is Warren has the has the knowledge with them with Now is it going to going to do an ask or trium for the airport or no trium on Airport as far asru with to tie this together it'll help both of these projects minute break
