which it stands one nation under God indivis and justice for all M Bley here M here m here Mr Kendall here Mr Lex here Mr Richie is absent m m Williams is absent miss hle here moving into section two the minutes can I get a motion to approve item 2.1 the regular meeting and work session minutes from December 19th 20124 all in favor can I he a motion to approve item 2.2 the reorganization meeting on January 2nd 2025 second all in favor moving into section three correspondence looks like we have none there's none great thank you okay moving into section four this is our public comment section the first section this evening is for um comments for members of the public for items included on tonight's [Music] agenda see none okay we're going to move into section five presentations have an audit presentation and hi I'm Jennifer bertino from Bowman and Company and I am the partner in charge of the school district's uh audit and I'm here with Amy kin our senior manager also works on the uh School District audit engagement uh thank you for allowing us to have a little bit of your time this evening to present the audit um so we performed your financial statement audit and single audit the single audit is over the federal and state programs and we did that for the period that ended on June 30th of 20124 uh we issue two reports your Acra your annual comprehensive financial statement report and your auditor management report also known as the MMR they all they're both as attachments in in the board agenda for you guys and I you had a draft up a couple weeks ago thank you um included in the report is our independent auditor report so we issue three different uh reports we issue one on your financial statements we also issue a report over the compliance and internal controls over the financial uh statements and then we also issue a third independent auditor report on your um state and federal uh programs for the single audit I'm happy to report that we were able to issue an unmodified opinion which is a clean opinion uh that's the best type of opinion that in auditor can provide it's basically saying that your financial statements are free and clear of any material misstatements um and that is a testament to the school business administrator and the finance office um for the talents and the expertise and the experience that they show and the care that they do provide over the financial records um included in the report we do have one item that we are asking the board to take uh formal corrective action on there were some uh line items with in the budget that had over expenditures um and so that was included in the one report um we did meet with management back in December to review the results of the audit um and at this time if there's any questions I'd be happy to answer them I just do want to thank the um Jen um your team you know at for your cooperation your help your assistance your patience not only with us but also with all of our team members um and audit can be pretty invasive you know trying to do your daily operations and your daily tasks and then having all of us with questions and it's a long process it's um so I do appreciate all the cooperation and the assistance and I also would like to thank the board for the appointment thank you you guys were great really I think it was really really smoothly this thank you pleasure thank you thank you thank you thank you all right moving into section six superintendent okay great all right thank you folks um as a superintendent of schools you knoww that you know unfortunately the the spokes person to the district uh but you know I'm really proud of the team that we have here in T I think that it's good with the Board of Education and members of the community from time to time here from different leaders that we have in the district so the next few months you'll be hearing from a variety of school administrators and principles but tonight it's my pleasure to introduce the first person you already know that's Mr Steve chard uh who's sometimes behind the camera with Mr heckers is here tonight but he is going to present along um with Mr Mike man who some of you probably know Mike's a had C graduate a former Middle School map teacher here um and he has assimilated recently into a role in the technology department um in the leadership position so um you know folks I'd like I asked them to come tonight to talk to the board and the community about everything that our technology department is doing um so please welcome Mr CH and Mr Man um to the to our board meeting and look forward to what they have to say all right thank you all for allowing us to uh take some of your time tonight to present on the our technology kind of what we do I'll give you the rundown here uh first I want to talk about our Tech Team just basically uh who's part of our Tech Team so we have Mr heckers that were there as you all know behind the camera um Spencer McCoy Tammy H and white man as long as my and myself of course uh Department overview recent successes and future goals are really what we're going to talk about tonight so we wear a lot of hats in our department okay I mean we we do a lot of different things and you know when Mike and I were really kind of talking about you know how we're going to break this down without taking too much of your time uh we kind of broke it down into five main buckets right so the first bucket is the network infrastructure and security okay so these are things that you know all of the stuff is things that we all do uh you know we all concentrate different areas but uh these are like like the main topics of of things that we do so Network infrastructure and security deals with like Network switches the access points everything to do with internet servers things like that we do all the configuration setting up running of wires things like that uh firewall so every building in the district is protected by a firewall right there's a lot of Bad actors out there that are really trying to find that little crack just to get into our Network once they get into your network you know bad things can happen right so they can uh you know do things like lock down your system or or ransomware I'm sure um so we're always trying to always trying to protect our Network and make sure things are uh running way they should be protective you see there uh there over 100 countries we have blocked because it's not only from the United States we have attacks coming constantly from overseas okay so we can see where these attacks are coming from the IP addresses the countries we have the ability to block entire countries and we have done that for over 100 countries uh just this year alone so you know that that's obviously pretty important uh thing that we do in our department we manage the phone and voicemail systems the copers uh the fobs just security to walk into any any door you know when you fob in we manage that system as well there's over 250 surveillance cameras around the district we take care of all those manage them and set them up on administrator's uh devices second bucket is software and application management so what we do is we manage the the it's on course but it's the student information system used by parents students uh and faculty so we set up everything in there so that every one of those uh types of users can access their data uh iPad app requests uh educator absence uh and profession professional growth systems there's over 2400 iPads in our district we manage all of those everything from configurations protection updates apps there's over 500 computers we manage all of those same thing uh Google everything Google email uh Google Drive calendar you know all of the everything needs to be configured right just not press a button and it just happens we have to manage all of that um moving on to the third bucket digital media and Communications so the district's YouTube channel the technology tips Channel which Mike will talk about shortly forming Board of Education meetings and other important meetings Mr heckers is great with that um supporting the district website I'll elaborate on that in the next slide or two mass communication system and over 100 unique email groups throughout the district okay each one has to be consist consistently updated obviously uh to make sure people that should be in the groups are in those groups fourth bucket is professional development and support so we train all the new staff right so when they come in in the summer we spend a day day and a half literally going over everything that they're going to be exposed to technology wise in our district and we train them everything they need to know um technical support for students and staff so this is a big item right so we last year alone we did over 1,500 support tickets that's just the support tickets not phone calls not emails it's not the people who are just walking into the tech office you know throughout the day asking for help or advice or how-tos uh it's not the staff members that have just that quick question in the hallway it's never a quick question um let's see what else do we have here the physically physical repair and coordination of devices we also uh build and push out and maintain apps right so apps that are helped with efficiency um based on need needs the hall pass system in the high school middle school you know we built that maintain that and uh that's every time the student leaves the class um you know that's taken care of by A system that we put together uh we also manag the Learning Management uh systems seaw Google classroom and other things like that the last bucket is really like a swimming pool that's more like State reporting State Testing they consume a massive amount of time I mean just an extraordinarily large amount of time um multiple measures Mike will elaborate on that shortly as well uh benchmarking graduation Pathways GPA and honor rooll also go through our department some recent successes so the website you've all seen the website it is just you know incredible it it's so much better than it was Mike built that thing on the ground up that is 100% his baby I mean he did a fantastic job with this he's got a great mind great vision and he's very creative um you can see the things here it really does enhance the experience using it uh stuff is just easier to find now and it it really just improves the district image device roll out so we refreshed every single desktop computer in the District right over 400 new desktop computers with M1 IMAX okay they are blazing fast improving uh efficiency and productivity for not only teachers but also office staff we also refresh the entire iPad Fleet the ones that you're using here um every student in the district from K to 12 uh now has an iPad the K2 do not take them home they stay in classrooms but every classroom has a classroom set of iPads uh 3 to 12 I'll take them home but they are new you know generation 9 uh iPads but they're more like a computer because of the cases that you're all using tonight and uh the case itself has the integrated keyboard and trackpad and that really does make it operate more like a laptop computer frees up a lot of real estate which is great for State Testing as well all right one the new things oh Mike hello one of the new things that we um Incorporated this year was three new features in all course so we previously used Al as our student information system but in addition to that we added in data manager and um uh multiple measures so before that we used a bunch of other systems to manage our data and our assessments uh we used link it we had U Maps testing as a different assessment tools and we try to use a bunch of shared Excel documents or Google Sheets where teachers would upload data and it was worked but it was clunky and not really a great way to see data or to utilize it to make important decisions so these are some of the problems with our our old system our new system we incorporated on courses data manager and multiple measures data manager is the place where we upload all of our data it's the data warehouse multiple measures is the tool that we can convey all that data and build custom reports so with this we have improved data accessibility for teachers you can see the color coding and the conditional formatting on the on the um display there which makes it really easy to um tier accommodations it can help identify strengths weaknesses in students and test scores so we found that multiple measures while we're still it's early for us but it's got great implications um we've also added on course's assessment tool this is our in-house benchmarking system um which because it integrates with our student information system it's been really helpful in distributing the assessments uh teachers can send access codes pretty quickly with one link and then they get access to real-time data much faster and more intuitively than our old systems so we're pretty happy with this um one of the highlights is the the fewer logins it is a streamlined solution for us another recent success is the district YouTube channel uh Tech tip YouTube channel it is not a public Channel we have a small amount of videos to start but it's something that we're proud of um one of the places like we do get questions a lot on how do we do this how do we do that and our time is limited and it's spread across those five buckets so if we can create a library of resources that teachers inous or staff in house can reference and check and see how we some of the frequently used items um this is the place where it's going to be and I think this leads nicely into our future initiatives okay one of the future initiatives and foremost on our our minds is improving the school security um we plan to do that by um well we're searching for different camera systems and surveillance systems um one of them would upgrade the system and with it it comes um additional local storage on each of the cameras themselves but also it has a cloud-based system where we can um access it a little bit easier than our current system which needs to be um input on everybody's device um we would have administrators and important stakeholders getting an additional lot in and then they would access it through a web- based platform uh along with that it would have improved notifications and alerts that we have a lot more um configurations we can make to this system that would be really helpful for us so uh the last bullet there is the enhanced network security right so firewalls I just mentioned that's what's keeping the Bad actors out of our Network right so the elementary schools their firewalls are nearing end of life okay so once they hit end of life they're no longer supported we can't get firmware updates for them um so this is right at the top for L to upgrade our elementary school firewalls with uh you know more robust and state-of-the-art modern types of firewalls to really protect against these Bad actors out there um we're also going to increase our training for staff and students um learning how to protect themselves and our network from uh outside threats you know fishing attempts you've all seen those you know you clip on the wrong link and you know it's it's a bad day okay so everyone needs to be aware about you know what to do and how do how to look at an email and decipher is this legit or not um as well as other things so just increasing uh training in that respect and also multiactor authentication right so really we're going to push uh multiactor authentication for some of our systems so that people have to have a secondary step another layer of protection to access some of these systems just it's an important step so this slide is talking about modernizing our technology um one of the things that we want to try to have a greater emphasis on is educating our staff and how they can best utilize the technology that we have we've got all these great computers great iPads but are we maximizing their potential something that we'd like to do moving forward is go over some ways that we can improve our instructional methods including screen sharing using the iPad all of our computers are equipped with this but I don't know how many staff are actually utilizing these features it's a great opportunity for students to Showcase their work up on the screen um you can have multiple screens being displayed and for teachers it's a great opportunity to compare work that's being shown um another feature that we have is using our projectors as dual monitors um right now we we're currently mirroring a screen but we could also use this as an extended monitor so that would improve feature efficiency too they could be getting work done on the computer while a video or a lesson is being displayed on the projector and it's something that I don't know a lot of our staff knows how to do that should be on us to teach them how to do that or help support them at least another thing is our time Kettle translator earbuds we're working with the elll uh teachers and staff to implement these awesome devices they're really out of Science Fiction uh you put in an earbud and with a companion app you can speak in your native language somebody else would hear in their native language they would speak in their native language and you would hear it in yours so these are getting put to use by some of our ell teachers right now and they Rave about them but our goal is to try to incorporate them into more classrooms and get our staff trained uh to be able to use these uh I mentioned the tech tip Library earlier it's in its infancy so we don't have a ton of videos on there I'd like to try to get more videos uploaded to that so that again sta can use those as a resource to kind of help their um teaching and learning for students and then finally we already brought up the on course but I want to make sure that we are incorporating some more multiple measur supports um there's a ton of resources that can be used from that and we can implement it really well um namely some of them are being used for the sixth grade or we haven't done this yet I would like to incorporate it is the sixth grade accelerated math rubric we could incorporate a create a custom report that would help teachers uh that are in sixth grade assessing those students identify if they meet the criteria and we can build a custom formula for that and it would it would be pretty helpful and the final slide I think this is something that falls squarely into Tech Department's lap is coming up with a plan for uh AI in our schools um so the first thing is to develop a districtwide approach which I think starts by creating or forming a committee for this we need to collaborate with parents students teachers administrators to kind of come up with the best plans how for a policy for the district um we should then consider piloting some tools in some classrooms to identify subject areas uh that would be best fit for this and we can identify some best practices um with this there are absolutely awesome benefits but we have to be prepared to address the challenges too um won't read through all of them but the idea is that an example I have is if you use AI for a math problem you could plug it in and have ai I solve it for you and you could say give me a step-by-step example how to do this and then you could just put that in as your homework but you could use the tool plug in the math problem and say uh give me a similar problem to this and explain it to me as if I'm a novice and then the AI will be able to explain it to you as a personalized tutor then you're using it as a tool for Learning and not just giving you the answer so I think that that's just one example for how we could make sure we're maintaining academic Integrity but also using it to further our learning and it's ideal because it's not going to get tired of you asking questions and you could simpl simplify things even further so the personalized tutor aspect of it makes it most exciting so not the teachers ever get tired of students asking question but this is a something we're excited about yeah all right thank you very much for all your time I appreciate it and uh I think that future is bright in head of Township any questions might have a few yeah go ahead yeah I just wanted to thank you guys for enlightening me you know uh it's incredible what you're doing and it's very difficult you know for all of us to understand all of the type things you guys are unbelievable it's good we have people that want to delve into all this technical stuff because without you I know I would probably be lost many of us would be lost you know and and uh it's incredible it's so important Mike when did you graduate in 2005 okay so I was I was at your graduation so I've been on the Schoolboard 32 years and it's like I've seen so much from the I was there before the internet I was here and I've seen so much you know in technology move forward and it's it's so incredible I want to share two things first I want to share with the board uh on my my own on Facebook like I messed up and got fished recently do you guys know I don't know if any of you know if you have a problem with Facebook you can't contact them over the phone I tried I I Googled what's the Facebook customer service and this number came up and it wasn't for my own was for ruers alumni and I this and I needed help and this number came up and I thought what the heck it's customer service right so I'm speaking to this guy and he's trying to get all my credit card information what what with the numbers are your you know and the guy says oh yeah you got hacked from Mexico and listen to me I'm going to well finally you know I caught on this guy's trying to get all my information you know so that's important to catch these these actors from not only foreign countries but from this country it's like a proliferation of it I guess it's like an easy way now to get money and and whatever you know they so it's something that's really important to show people and the students here to watch out for the fishing and you know it's just it's that's like their job these people as you probably know this is their job they don't want to have a job their job want they want their job to be fishing to get information from you to charge your bank account or whatever so it's horrible nowadays watch it so you know and they'll send you as you point out some information like some email like oh thanks for signing up for this and uh contact us you know with your credit card or whatever you know it so it's good thank I mean there's so much stuff you guys are doing I know you would make a lot of money in Private Industry but I appreciate the fact that you want to work here because it's a special place as you know from being a student and Mr Char you certainly know it's it's just magnificent what you're doing now I just want to ask a question cuz you were talking about videos maybe Bob can answer this better so in a bond referendum far far away you know in another galaxy we put first of all we put these things up okay are they Antiquated now the projectors well how come we're not doing digital I mean money is always a thing but wouldn't it be better to have a digital LCD screen like a large LCD yeah like an 85 in screen like you see in Walmart money is always driving Factor right exactly but we did that that was an example of a technology thing you know in a bond referendum far far away then that room over there was supposed to be the TV studio and we were supposed to have kids learn how to uh do like the news like that hide in Township news and go on each morning and say today's February 23rd and this is you know Mary or John or whoever reporting and here's the news I mean where did that go that's not going anywhere no we're doing that we doing it I didn't know you were doing it the kids are the kids are doing the news yeah it's not every day but I'll send you next week's news clip I'll send that i' set that out before it's nice they do they do a good job it comes on here the teachers can display it in their classrooms yeah yeah it's in the class to a projector on the projector no it comes on the it comes yeah it comes on the smartboards yeah the classroom okay I would like to see more of that yeah cuz you know broadcasting is a big thing a lot that that a lot of kids are drawn to that you know like we were discussing maybe learning how to you know change oil and stuff like that basics in a little little room down the down the the hallway there and that would be good too if we can I know it's always money money money who someday you know get more of the this with the kids learning the cameras and the audio visual all that broadcasting and I know all this will fit in with you guys somewhere if we ever get the money but I appreciate what you're doing it's amazing the Myriad of things you put up there that you do and like I said I personally would be lost in space but that's what you guys are for so we're all you know not lost in space so you know keep up the great work appreciate you working here cuz I know you go out in Private Industry you you guys will get a job let's face it you know good one you know but we appreciate you being here anybody else I have a question yes uh I'm just interested so like if you had a magic wand um if those existed what would you change tomorrow what would be the thing that would be different whether that's like something that you've already shared in the future State that's something in like the external environment that you have to address I mean I just I wish everyone was much more knowledgeable to be honest with you as far as uh protection goes because kind of like what John said Conant we get hundreds hundreds of attacks daily on our firewall you know and they're not just attacking our firewall they're attacking you with your phone every time you take it out you know when whenever you browse to a site you know just because you a website looks like a website you think it should be it may not actually be that site you know uh they change one letter and it might look like Facebook but it's you know an O is actually a zero and and you think you're there but guess what you're at a page that an AI generator just created very easily uh and I mean we can create websites in seconds now with AI with AI um and that's s exists for one reason steal your information you know um so if I wave my wand and make all those bad people go away that would be awesome I I have a question so what advice do you give to the kids or have the teachers give to the kids to protect them from getting into something that they shouldn't I know you kind of limit what they can do but I mean we we protect the kids Behind the Scenes as much as possible we we push profiles to the iPads we have blcks on the firewall out the Wazoo I mean we have so many different configuration profil set up so uh it's over the top to be honest with you as far as what they're allowed to access what they can go to and we get requests frequently for uh opening up sites matter of fact we just got one yesterday and it was an out of it was a country it it was coming from a country that we had blocked but we also have configurations that we set up that we can actually identify if it's a legitimate company which we can do by going to different sites common sense.org and things like that um and then we can allow that one particular IP address to come through our firewall and then allow them have access like that but we do have you know very tight uh protections for the kids so that uh you know your question is more on like how are they learning how to be secure online themselves right I think what what do you tell them I mean cuz in the future they're going to be the people they're not going to be protected in the school realm like what are you teaching them what to do or what to look as far as holding workshops and stuff for the kids we are not doing that right now um you know we're we're it's kind of one of those future things that I put up there you know and I mentioned we want to do that not only for staff but for students and have more uh security awareness I think yeah security awareness great thank you I just sorry and I I I grown up I asked um you know Dr pikaro in our work session with um with the recent um you know threat that happened at lenp um high school and I just asked if he had been receiving like emails from parents um and since you both were presenting um is that something that you know since it was AI generated the the call is that something that a lot of high schools are you know trying to meet trying to come together um you know to to prevent that from happening at other schools are you guys familiar with what happened the swatting the swatting yeah I mean I heard about it um we're not none of my groups that I'm associated with as far as the South Jersey technology Consortium they're not really talking about um how to prevent that I mean AI is new for everyone um it's difficult to prevent but it doesn't only have to just be AI it can be anyone it can be someone picking up the phone and making that call you know so can you give us uh an idea of something pertinent now if you don't know you don't know it's so complex what is the problem to look for with the Tik Tock now and when the government wants to ban the Tik Tock and the new administration's looking at it Etc can you give any conjecture what what's with the tick tock and the kids probably I probably know you know John just what I've heard and read and it's basically just saying that it's run by a foreign entity let just say and they have uh the ability to see what you're doing on your phone you know whether it be keystrokes or uh personally ident personal identification uh information right they can get the information if you install that app on your phone they can basically see and again I don't know if that's true or not I'm just saying you know what I've read and I'm sure everyone in this room has heard or read that's that's the danger that they could say if our kids are on Tik Tok you know that they could know what they're doing what their likes and dislikes are etc etc you know and even then as they get older for adults they could maybe blackmail someone CHR you have a question seems like we're going off tangent a little bit here I mean well excuse me I mean the but go ahead go ahead must be cognizant of people's time oh excuse me but go ahead oh Kristen has a question no I'm sorry we'll get to it this might tie in a bit with u Marie's question but as far as you know educating um students and teachers I was wondering if you were doing anything around like pord security as far as reusing password sharing passwords making sure that they're like password security IPS theel yeah so again that's that's the type of thing where I was talking about the multiactor authentication um you know we're going to things are going to to really start ramping up just because the AI is scary right and AI can put together a program that just hammers your network until it finds that little crack that I referred to so it's another thing that moving forward things are just going to have to become Tighter and Tighter as inconvenient as they are for people you know I mean there's so unfortunately there's a lot of people that have one password for everything um that I hope no one in this room that's the case um personally I don't know any of my passwords um which no one should you should have a password manager and basically just you know have passwords that are very long you shouldn't know them just sticky not on your it shouldn't be the iPhone or the sticky note on your but bottom you would support education for our kids to teach them how to make more complicated P yes and unfortunately we're going to have to enforce that um and we do have the ability to do that and we are going to do that as far as requiring more more difficult ways to access things you need access to but it's in the name of security great thank you do you have like the teachers also change like do they have to change their crws every currently right now no but yes they have been moving forward you know I mean it's coming but again training is also required with a lot of the stuff until you can't just you know make blanking changes but yes it it's coming we do get notified if there's been a a leaked password or a concern for that and then we let teer know when we're changing the password to yeah and you know we have things set up so if um if there's outside it patterns develop so if someone's logging into an account from Haden Township and then someone logs in from you know California in the next you know 3 minutes from that account their account can get locked down so I mean there are security features running in the background that that with protections thank you last thing you folks should know about steveen Mike and I'm sure that the uh teachers appreciate this it's the unique thing about both these individuals is they're both um trained and their Foundation is as classroom teacher so which is unique in this role right so they have two people at the top um that start their career you know as classroom practitioners that can Bridge you know from classroom to technology Le I it's really greatship so thanks for coming out tonight thanks for Happ everyone before you guys walk away one great presentation thank hopefully quick question um sounds like there's some movement I I'm I'm trying to read between the lines some movement to using encourse more than linkit as a replacement for linkit is linkit going away like what's the what's the answer there link it has gone away for us as our data warehouse and our assessment tool and course has replaced that in both cases as the data manager and our assessment still great thank you and I just wanted to share thank you guys so much so we just had another PD and um Mike and Steve have been super helpful with en course transitioning and what you gather from a PD you may not always remember so that those Tech tips come in handy I share those out with the staff andent peers how you access your data so those things are super helpful and I also just wanted to say thank you for all of your assistance with time Kettle so our students one student was speaking Russian the other day to a student who is a Spanish speaker and they could understand each other and they were having a great conversation we've used them for parent conferences we're going to use them for some Community engagement um but all that would not be possible without the help of um Mike and Steve and all of the um tutorials that have taken place as how you use it and the ease of using it and getting it into the hands of financial support yes I wasn't I wasn't you took you took the words out of my mouth the I no and you shouldn't that was I think the biggest Grant awarded at the time who was the that Grant I won and I was just getting over Co I'm like what time is it to um but I appreciate that because that Grant is something that is you know really standing the test of time like we're still getting it into multiple hands as we speak and into multiple ears so thank you to F and to you and all the staff who are using it for you for that was your that was your Grant I mean I don't like I was just like I just appreciate the the financial support but um and the support it's really opened up a lot of doors for that we wouldn't have so thank you guys all right thank you everyone thank you thank you I'm glad you didn't mention that you have to walk theend through every time we have like a 2our delay or to make sure I have the F views notification system that was on there too just make sure one more time take care guys thank you all right bar you're up student report all right sounds good so uh a lot of January just getting back into their R team after winner break so not too much is going on but um a lot of kids have received more College acceptance uh letters and we started a student run Instagram page for like future plans whether it's trade military or college anything after high school um kids are posting there uh we have a couple field trips coming up the Performing Arts is going to go see Hamilton in New York City which is really exciting it's I think February 4th or 5th and then uh the sophomores have their trip to Washington DC which is starting planning right now too other than that uh we've had a lot of support for the sports teams going on right now our girls team girls basketball team is doing really well they're 10 and two they play tomorrow um but also the boys games wrestling and indoor track they're all ongoing right now and there's a good turnout high energy and it's something fun to do especially in the winter I'm not in like a school sport right now so attending those games are always really uh fun as for the middle school we met with um B and faven yesterday and um just talked to them similar thing getting back into routine they had an assembly last Friday the stand tall Steve assembly which um seemed to um it's he wanted to teach them how to stay happy and healthy by taking care of yourself and promoted positive mental health and attit attitudes and um just good habits and other than that they have a dance this Friday it's a semi formal Winter Dance and they seem really excited for that too thank you yeah thank you all right think I have for you tonight to um wrap this up is uh nurse Marcado sent me a really nice email and she wants the board of UC ation to be aware of the support that the hatas police department and EMS have provided to our nurses on January 2nd the had police came into each school and replaced our narcans everyone know Naran is which we're about du to respire Fire and also uh one of our fire Commissioners has agreed to work with the district to help us provide CPR certification um which a little budget gap for this here so they're going to be supporting us in that endeavor so both the support with the fire commissioner and the police uh effs parted by our school nurse and the thank you very much the CPR training is that for teachers yes uh well it's twofold so the nurses are going that path and then um we're splitting our staff into two um PD sessions for our crisis response teams and we have an internal um our internal PE teacher with Ireland just did one in February the nurses um are working with the fire department and then uh March will either February or March will either be lease at Ireland again or the um our insurance provider so they can provide us with some uh CPR support to make sure we're fully staff in all of our buildings thank you finance facilities I'm sorry sorry all right moving into section seven finance and Facilities uh can I get a motion to approve items 7.1 through 7.13 second any questions call Miss billingley yes yes Mr St yes mistful yes Ming into section N9 Personnel can I get a motion to approve items 9.1 through 9.29 so move second any questions not po of a statement seems like we're in that pattern again where more teachers are leaving and we still hav problem trying to find I we have 1 2 3 four five five at least that are on Le and I know we had a number last month I assume these are new ones right so some are revised I assume there are revised that they're still contining I think we had a number yeah last time I know the people last month or not with December didn't start off instantly but they were just put on but it just seems like we have that cycle again where we don't have where we're losing a lot of Futures yeah just losing leave of ABS correct illness or family yes it feels like there over this year 2024 to 2025 feels like there's way more leave of absences than there has been this time last year I'm intimately involved with most of these cases I know you know and I will say generally speaking there has been more maternity dises and unfortunately there's been more sicknesses complex cases really help um so you're see any other questions roll call Miss Billingsley yes Mr cook yes M Desi yes Mr Kendall yes Mr Lex yes m s yes Miss SLE yes moving into section 10 student services and activities I got a motion to approve items 10 .1 through 10.14 second any questions more of a statement I'm sorry more of a state and not not that it matters but historically in the receiv privilege we were given the names this one was blacked out and I don't necessarily care I just don't know if it's I don't think we need the news no but the last month we had or two months ago we had the name so I'm just making sure it's either we have the name and I don't care either way I'm just want to be consistent yeah yeah I think it should be a number it definitely on there yeah yeah but I think last month or the two months ago there was sincerely and this one just I just uh okay I I I'll take a look at that I think sometimes the student has written a letter to the board of ed to they WR a letter to the board of ed okay abely this case came just just more out of just process that's all um the enrollment it went up again I think we're up six students yeah that's good people moved into town or uh up six yeah good any other questions oh sorry a second no no Ro Bingley yes Mr yes Desi yes Mr Kendall yes Mr yes yes yes moving to section 11 policy can I get a motion to approve approve item [Music] 11.2 any questions probably not related but I'm going to bring it up anyway Murphy's announcement about cell phone bands has there any been I know we have sort of a our own part of that but what of that we're going to do over the or we're waiting to see what the actual dir is going to look like right now in our district phones are off and Away everywhere all the time the exception to that is in the high school in the cafeteria while they're eating lunch but they're not allowed to have them during study hall they're not allowed to have them in class they're not allowed to have them in all in the middle school they're all away so we are you know aligned with his policy for the most part except the high school the kids having during the dur lunch time Mar have you noticed a shift in that of of teachers cracking down more on the cell phones yeah it's definitely more strict I think there's like for improvement if there if we wanted to but overall kids are pretty engaged with each other yeah thank you Ro M Bingley yes Mr C yes M Desi yes Mr Kendall Mr Le yes yes M yes all right moving into section 12 public comment this is our final public comment section of the evening uh for comments on anything doesn't have to be on tonight's agenda if you have a comment just stay your name address please sorry neighborh we change neighborh name street name and Street I thought Street I think I think we're approving it tonight I think that all right seeing done I'll turn it over to the board any comments or questions from the board I do have one comment about um the Super Bowl that is being help by the visual performing arts department on February 6th um so it used to be uh empty bowls was the concept so the kids in the art classes made bowls and for10 or $20 gift to them um to get the bowl um they're going to have soup and chili and things like that down in the cafeteria what that February the 6th oh February 6th 6 to 8 so it's super goal kind of to go before the Super goal and all the money is going to go to Cathedral kitchen um in Camden so the kids are donating the funds they're not getting anything for them but you get the gold for it so it's a great event you can go and support it later 200 but yes so um it it should be a great event they're bringing it back they're hoping to do it every year that the pottery kids made the pottery the bowls and stuff so um she had a couple different groups and I think even some of the clubs went and helped make more goowls for them so um they have I think 150 BS made so they're looking to yeah they are very cool on the All County modern band is happening Saturday we have three students that audition from head and Township they'll be performing at Cy County College so what what is this it's the all count modern band The First Time very cool very nice and the Jazz yeah yeah I just retrospect but I do want to commend Kelly for her leadership in the South Jersey fair funing Collective New Jersey New Jersey New Jersey fair funding Collective she's really been successful outside of her role as head board president mobilizing a lot of board members a lot of community members from across the state um advocating for the right things and a lot of things that she was out front saying and we were saying now these are finally developing some common themes here so we're hoping that listening appreciate that keep your fingers crossed good work something something changes soon
