that need be met and the anticipated costs um will be um to be determined it will be be part of our budget even though it's a total Town responsibility and I have a meeting tomorrow with the um Town Administrator and finance committee okay to sort of work through it but at least it gives you a gist of what the potential cost may be um fortunately I did get back the results of the first tests and um it's not way over you know there's some exceedances but not bad compared to what I've seen in other town so okay uh landfill repair update uh I'll be meeting with the uh Town Administrator and the select board on site on the landfill not related to past but related to the repair cost of erosion that's going on on the slopes and um to determine what steps we want to do to move forward as a town to either just keep putting a Band-Aid on the project or maybe work you know make it work long term um so it's just something that we're going to try to uh make the best of the situation the one thing is the the um repairs will have to be done whether we do anything different with the site somehow or some way um we have to do another repair which we've already done three since it's been capped and every time we do it it cost more money okay so so an ongoing discussion with the and select board okay bird flu I've seen lots of pictures of dead herds on the pond what's going on with the bird flu well uh we have yet to determine how the dead birds actually met their demise yes I was made aware of bird flu on 130 and uh 13 human oral January okay a human case excuse me a bird in a human or a bird bird okay oh yeah no fortunately no human cases there's been no human and uh no real animals at at that point in time okay however the ca of death is absolutely unknown for those birds that I was able to um you know observe how many do we know um the first day of my inspection on the pond there were eight and then um since that then I've done over nine visits so okay what's today the of February well there you go so basically every day except for a Saturday or Sunday I've been out looking at the birds okay or lack of but the um the there were um eight samples collected Yesterday by the division of fisheries and wildlife okay so when I saw the the birds um I don't I don't have the training to go pick up a dead bird or do any of that so I notified mdar I notified Mass Division officies and Wildlife I notified dph I notified everybody that might be able to help me out okay because actually day before the 30th of January I found out because those walking around the pond by my house and lo and behold at Billington sea there were 60 dead birds so I'm like okay how's this going to compare to what I have going on and take it from there so we um you know to this point what we know is yes there are some dead birds how they passed away to be deted to be determined okay there been multiple site visits in Communications with the state and the authorities um involved um the area that there's many 40 to 50 ducks and four Swans and seagulls that are living very happily that day and till this day is right off that bridge on 58 um you know Route 58 heading out of town because there's a nice little open body of water from the boat ramp and you know this time of year if Pawn's Frozen westmond ponet has nothing why it's totally frozen over eastmon ponet has an open body of water and if I was a duck I'd try to find some water just me I'm not a duck um so um we'll move forward with uh proper State guidance okay we'll see what the samples show okay great that's our
