rush this time there I didn't congratulations I just want to take a couple minutes to uh talk about the three candidates we hired tonight we went through a pretty uh extensive process we had about 2 do applicants lot of other Chiefs in the county every time I get together they complain that they can't find good applicants to be honest with you I'm not sure how because I think we got three of the best tonight uh we went through a pretty extensive uh background review service interview all three of these guys did terrific on our interviews Antonio is a 7-year veteran in the New York Police Department he lives uh not coincidentally over on New York Avenue uh very excited he he spoke about how he wants to become part of the community wants to raise his family in the community where he works not really at home with us uh his wife is due when may having a little baby in May so r as a four-year veteran of uh the Jersey City police department and I think I can speak for the Public Safety Committee when I say he really wowed Us in the uh in in the interview told us a great story about a Jersey City officer who took him under a qu and how he wanted to get back to the community and do more for his community uh and that really resonated with us too the star went off was lost tonight when had a hard time finding headquarters so doal training his first week uh but he's somebody that we're very excited about he's got a great personality he liks up to R when he walks in we're very excited to have him here he had two letters of recommendation from the two commanders of the West District in Jersey City which is impressive knowing that these two letters are going to help this guy get a job somewhere else that speaks volumes for his character so congratulations J we're looking forward to have Bill Young is a 2-year veteran of the East Orange Police Department and again when I say you know when we talk to to Newark about Antonio I had guys tell me this guy's a 10 out of 10 you're going to love this guy Jon had letters from uh the district commanders we spoke to the IIA Captain 38 years up in in East Orange and he said you're going to love this kid he's a great kid he's he's a star you're going to love him so uh he came very highly recommended from a friend of mine who knew knew him his uh his uh internal Affairs Captain spoke very highly of him he was another guy in interviews I made a very big deal about wanting to give back to the community community police that's right after our own Hearts that's something that we look for here in K we're a small town we like to get out of the car talk to people we like to do that community policing all three of these guys I believe are cut from the same cloth we can't wait to get you guys working and get you into the fabric of the community congratulations we look forward to working with May Council we've been working short for for quite a while now I want to thank you as always the administration for your support uh you guys always support the police you guys support whatever we need we're thankful to having an Administration like this to help us with the needs that we have and the police department always
