##VIDEO ID:44RE5glndcE## [Music] good evening and welcome to the lakevi park commission meeting this is Thursday December 5th 2024 and we are at the police station on 323 Bedford Street is there anyone other than Lake cam recording the meeting tonight all right let's get to it Peter come on please come up with an announcement uh happy holidays oh there you go we're good we're good I'm very happy is that it for announcements that's it I have glits all that Glitters right idea okay tonight we have a special guest with us we invited um coach rig come out and talk to us we um we had a zoom meeting uh with the coach about three weeks ago uh school superintendent Strauss was there there was a Selectmen from Freetown Lakeville we had Carrie Britney and myself to discuss a request to possibly have a program here which is partially sponsored by the NFL um coach rig gave us some information here that we can go through uh I think everyone has been introduce to the coach so coach introduce yourself and uh let's go forward awesome um we have a mic is the mic yeah the little one table just move it a little bit over okay great thank you good evening everyone um my name is coach rig uh I want to thank um the committee uh for giving me this opportunity to talk about um our uh program that we're looking to launch uh in your town um Lake fill free U freet toown uh and surrounding Town respectively um so I do have a presentation you guys have it right in front of you I just want to go through the presentation uh leave it open for questions and then uh show you some clips some highlights of our wonderful children that are involved in our program uh and the you know wonderful things that we're doing uh in the town of Bridgewater uh and also um midar so again I'm coach rig um just a little bit of uh information about me uh over 25 years of career life coaching and clinical experience um I have a background in Family Therapy I have a background in h Ed um I worked for higher ed um for a number of years Boston College and Bentley respectively um and you know I certainly know children Adolescent and young adults really really well um so that's just a little bit of background about me I hold two master's degree uh one of which is in master is a master in leadership Administration and the other is in management uh with a bachelor's degree in human services I'm a husband father of four um the word Grand uh grandfather is not there my my grandchildren call me Papa so I'm a papa of three um three beautiful uh two boys one girl so here's our mission statement for our program um I won't read the entire thing but I'm just going to sum it out for everyone uh it is really to inspire young people uh impower them Inspire them uh give them you know an outlet uh for which they can grow develop um build build specific skills such as leadership communication you know all the skills that we as adults use on a day-to-day basis when we work in in our respective um you know professions uh and also when we're interacting with folks um fundamentally speaking that is the backbone and the um you know uh uh the foundation of our program uh our program Next Level Sports Club uh it is an official NFL youth flag football program um for those who are not aware flag football was in the Olympics this past Olympics um you know obviously flag football is growing everywhere in every community in every state every city um one of the reason uh obviously the concern around CTE uh it is real um I I I speak from experience as I reflect back to my playing days uh in high school and some in college uh and certainly some semipro um I knock on wood and I thank God that I perhaps don't have any lasting um you know challenges but certainly uh flag football is growing is my point um our program caters to boys girls um ages 4 to 17 um starting at age 4 um and you know all the way to uh to High School uh here's some details about our program we launched in the spring of 2022 uh we've just concluded our sixth season heading into year three three um and we we launched our first summer camp because parents each season would ask coach when are you guys going to do a camp my child needs a camp um so we launched our first summer camp this past summer um went it went really really well um we have multiple divisions um we start at K to 1 uh 2: 4 5 to 8 9 to 11 and we have a division called yada young athletes with different abilities um our divisions are pared this way because we wanted to be intentional about putting together children that are slightly younger with children that are slightly older this is where you have the sort of reciprocating of leadership U being taught by one another and you see it on the field you see it in your interaction um and it it has worked extremely well our yada program um is relatively new uh we are in our I believe fourth season we just concluded our fourth season the yada program um a parent came to me one day and said coach my son plays with the quote unquote main mainstream children I have two children that are on the Spectrum um you know and she she wanted to know can we create a program that would support her children um you know we did due diligence uh we we met with some folks who are um you know uh we met with some folks who run a soccer league that specifically tailored towards children with neurodiverse challenges we understood um you know how they sort of uh structured their program we got some really really great nuggets uh and then we launched we started small in each year the yada program has grown um you know sign significantly um these children these group of children these group of athletes we treat them no different than any other child so in other words we are teaching them how to catch the ball how to run with the ball we're encouraging them we're challenging them every week in terms of retention and you know it's they're amazing children all of them are um absolutely amazing children um in each season our program has grown um across the board uh where you know we're somewhere between 150 uh 200 children um we have a spring fall um season and then now um summer uh roughly about eight games per season um and then just some additional information it is coed um you know uh our coaches are predominantly parents uh and then uh those with whom I um I know really well uh either through my church or those I've played sports with Etc um and then this is a family run program um I am the person who have these types of meetings my family they like to be in the background doing you know the operations of the program um and we're very intentional about Workforce Development our program we hire high school children and um High School young men and women and also College young men young men and women and we put them position of leadership some have coached but predominantly they are referees and these are paid positions um so um we are very specific about Workforce Development I remember when I was you know 14 um I think my first job was at 13 doing some type of farm work and you know receiving that little check uh I think it was like $69 $70 um and I felt great and you guys can it might resonate with you when you first got your first job and it felt good to just go to that bank and cash it and you know and do what you had to do um as a teenager so we strongly believe in that um uh hear it from their lips um see it through their lens uh these are actual videos that I am I'm going to play maybe two or three small clip videos and I'm going to show it to you guys um you'll hear it directly from the horse's mouth uh just give me two seconds and um I do have the video up let me just bring in ch you want me to put it on a TV or we saw them we did yeah yeah we were on so everyone saw them I I didn't but that's okay you can go ahead they're on the website okay yeah okay great so um I I I would certainly encourage you to please take a look at them so you hearing it directly from the horse's mouth in terms of the children um some of our referees some of our coaches um and you know in those who support our program let me get back to my slides show so how can you help um you know this is where this is this is the the purpose of this meeting um you know in our town in Bridgewater uh the school department is extremely helpful they're a partner with us uh they provide us with a field um and and you know they help disseminate the flyer there's a flyer in there an example of flyer in there U they help disseminate the flyer to parents um and and they get they help get them get the information out um so we need a field um that's how uh that's one way uh uh you guys can help also helping us to you know allowing us to post our um yard Flags um around town um you know certainly public areas uh and if you know I've spoken to some uh some private businesses in my town and they've allowed us to you know to post our signs as well um just to get the message out uh to to families um and then access to any upcoming events that the town might be hosting uh you know Christmas is right around the corner um I don't know if there's a parade in town um for which you know we can be invited we can we can go pass out flyers uh let families know that hey here here's an additional program that is that is available to you and your family um our program is family oriented you know parents obviously come out and support their children siblings um grandparents even dogs I think I've saw one cat it was in the cage uh that came out and support the support our program um it is it is extremely uh inclusive in that regard um every every year we have a um a closing event where we call it Championship Saturday uh where all the kids are in playoffs and every year we do something very special for them in terms of the kids who go off and win their Super Bowl um I just want to give you guys uh an idea of what the kids receive um those that win their Super Bowl uh Super Bowl games the first ring that I'm going to pass out is what we've done in the past the second ring that's in the box is what we've upgraded to this past um fall 2024 season uh it's just the visual and it's so amazing when the kids you know you you you see the you know the difference in their in their expressions right so for example the teams that make it to the Super Bowl game the teams that win they're cheering and they're pumping fiz and high-fiving each other and the team that does not win you can see in their faces right that is teachable moments and teachable opportunities for our coaches for our parents to have these conversations with the children and say hey we'll get them next time what can we do differently right and you see how the kids respond um and we've had plenty of examples of uh children who have lost in Super Bowl games and then the following year they're pumping their fist because um their team went off and uh you know and did what they needed to do um that's just an example of of our program now I I I I do want to address the fact that there is a flag football program in town um and the way I view it and I'm hoping that you know um there there are a lot of kids and in in our respective towns and certainly in Lakeville certainly in um you know uh in freet toown and surrounding towns the way I view it is giving parents hey here's an additional program um that is familyfriendly uh that is uh specifically designed to help develop young people um that could allow those that have teenagers that are not working that are not involved in sports to also work um I think there's room there's certainly room um for additional programs uh let me let me also add that our program has helped in terms of uh our tackle football programs um you know cuz parents have real opportunity to see whether or not their child can play tackle football do their child have the ability to play tackle football and be able to transition to tackle football so I've seen that and over the course of our 3 years in operation and um you know we've had a number of children who started off with our flag program and then they're learning the fundamental they're building their confidence and then they matriculate into tackle during the fall and then they come back um to sharpen up you know their tools and you know continue to work on their craft uh during the Spring season um like your town we have other sports as well baseball soccer um you know we have a number of sports similar to your town um so I do think there's room and I do think that it's an opportunity for parents to you know um uh to to take advantage of you know opportunities that are going to help you know develop their children and um let's any questions for me um before we open the questions I just want to let everyone know that uh school superintendent Strauss is very much uh doing this interested in uh if they can do it on school property they will they're going to look at that I know the free Town select person said they probably don't have the space so besides the school we're the ones who are who are interested in here and um so I'm sure we have a lot of questions and then we can discuss after awesome thank you um you had mentioned that hiring the teenagers yes as referees they get paid did you say they get paid to be coaches as well or that's a volunteer completely volunteer position so let me give you an example of um um a young man who recently graduated from high school uh this past uh spring uh he started off as a player he then matriculated to becoming a referee where he was being paid and then he said hey coach um I would love to coach as well um we said absolutely no problem we allowed him to coach and we just continue to pay pay him so that's that's just an example um because he's gone through the program uh if if if a young person does not want to coach they don't have to um we strictly keep them as as referees but for the most part we pay referees that's just one example of someone who has gone through the program uh he's been a an extreme you know uh leader in the program as a young person um you know so we we just we just felt it right to continue paying him okay so it's a individual basis um do you think you have a program in middleb and you have a program in bridgew so this program would be strictly Lakeville this program would be Lakeville free town in surrounding towns um the name of our the name of each of our program although we fall under each of our program falls under Next Level Sports um Club um so it's Bridgewater area Lakeville Area Middle bar area Okay um and and we you know I know a lot of towns have like restriction in terms of their individual programs for us we're we're really about the kids if you're a parent and you live in a surrounding uh area and you want to sign up uh for our program um absolutely um we we leave it open for you and um now I know this is a national because I I did go on the website today and um it's a National Organization so we're in like the Northeast part do we stay in Lakeville playing our area teams or do you play the whole area or do you play other parts of the country nope um so initially we want to we want to when we get when we start with Lakeville with the number of teams the teams will be playing one another once we once the groundwork and the foundation has been built here uh in terms of families seeing the value of our program uh we have you know similar to our current programs we have a lot of repeat families then the goal is to have intertown competitions um you know Lakeville versus Bridgewater etc etc right um that is the go but it's within within the scope of um our territory territory yeah because um and it said you said it was a your organization was a family run organization but it's under the NFL FLAG Football umbrella we are an an official NFL FLAG Football um League yes and are you a nonprofit We are not a nonprofit okay do you uh you get their insurance from them we get insurance from uh from the NFL yes right because anytime um EV you have to Y we we do have we do have um you know Insurance uh the cover field players Etc does the NFL provide any financial assistance to you or just you know well the the the NFL when when we were looking to expand we reached out to NFL FLAG and we said hey we would like to expand this is where we lived they look they helped us look at a map uh to see in terms of close proximity to other NFL FLAG programs and it was determined that there was no NFL FLAG program here um in Mido within X number of mileage um and we said hey we live close to uh to Lakeville we're not too far from you guys um it is an easy Drive um and I you know so they said this is your territory your you're more than welcome you know to occupy this territory um so that's how it it's it sort of goes so let's I'm going to be I'm going to go worst case scenario absolutely so say you get 40 CS which is I hope it's not but I just want to be worst case scenario of course would you absorb those in your other leagues or would you say hey we have some Fields available in Lakeville maybe we can move some over there so what what is your thinking so my my thinking is for us to be here but let's address the worst case scenario um and I'll give you an example of the worst case scenario when we started with Middleboro um the timing the timing for us to launch in middleb was not the best timing because it was over the summer and we had no access to parents um even though the town was extremely supportive so the par uh the the parents who signed up for our middleb division um they are came to Bridgewater um and in fact those family said hey we don't mind coming to Bridgewater if you want to keep you know uh keep the field in Bridgewater uh we don't mind coming to Bridgewater so our middle bar program we're actually going to have our middle bar program in uh in our home field um so we'll have two different time slots for that um but the goal is to have the program here centralized here the the whole program or just the Lakeville the Lakeville flag yes the Lakeville Freetown here that's correct so if you get enough signups it would make sense for you to do it in Lakeville absolutely that's that is that is the the Absolut goal is to have it here and Middleboro plays where Middleboro now will play uh in our Bridgewater home field do you have a lot of people signed up um when we first launched we we had a fair number amount of people um again you know our our launch our launch timing was was not was not the best cuz we had no access to parents uh cuz school was out um but the parents who did sign up there were roughly about 20 or so parents who signed up and even let me back up a little even before we decided to launch in midboro we had families who were already planing for our program from midboro um so those families were were accustomed to driving um a short distance to uh to Bridgewater um but back to your question um those family those new families who signed up uh over the summer they just came over the bridgew so what do you sense the right the police station they're giant Fields you can't miss them okay uh I I can I can I I'll call you next week but you need a permission slip Keys the whole work okay I'll call you next week you and I you and I will we'll take a tour how do you like your coffee I'll bring you coffee I don't drink caffeine but thank you that's fair um I do I have one more question yes um do you offer scholarships for low-income kids we do um you know we we've had some parents who have um you know donated um in terms of you know sponsoring so we've used those funds uh you know to to reduce the price for for families that just can't afford it yes we do can you tell me exactly what you want from us you want one big field for how many many hours um so with the flyer so here's in terms of our first choice our first choice would be um Saturday morning uh from 7:00 and the goal is to wrap up by 11: um hours 11:30ish cuz we we want to make sure that you know that we leave the field clean um you know that's the field that we have that we've been using for 3 years you know we come in we clean it we make sure that we leave it clean um so about 4 hours um and then and then once we leave it you know clean we we go away uh families go do their thing and we go do our thing um so that would be so when I fill out the request for that will be um our first choice in terms of time and day uh and then you know I'll speak to the team uh to get a sense of an alternative time um in terms of Saturday um Saturday afternoon so evenings would not work for you weekday evenings um no weekday evenings will not work um because you know the kids are involved in other things right um you know we all work coaches work and stuff like that um so Saturdays would be ideal but I I will certainly go back and and talk to the team about you know um what's what's a what's the alternative um in terms of a second alternative that would be great yeah okay one Big Field 4 and a half to 5 hours on Saturday yeah now let me ask uh and I know the the the the centerpiece of this conversation is about the field um my our goal is to start getting the information out through the Facebook groups um I've spoken to some families who said you know there are some groups that you might want to tap into um so we're going to you know um we're going to blindly um be proactive in start getting the flyer out you know through the Facebook groups to say hey um keep an eye out registration is open cuz our registration is open for all our programs um we're going to we're going to do a an an early bird um sign up for Lakeville uh we've gone through the early bird sign up for mbor and um Bridgewater respectively but we're going to do on especially for Lakeville um and you know I'm I'm going to knock on I don't know if this is wood but I'm going to knock on something uh hoping that we either get a field through the school department or through the town um and we'll leave our fly that says you know in terms of like you know um location TBD um so cuz we we got to get the information out to families and we want we want to let families know that hey this program we want to bring this program to town um so just be careful because it's early in the game for us yeah and because what you really need to before you even advertise Lakeville okay we have to work through our our our process here and then I'm not quite sure how the school will hand it okay because then when you do advertise you're going to need to let them know oh it's going to be on Saturdays this is the price I mean right that's his call whether he wants to have that repercussion or not but I mean do you think it's worse to advertise early and then telling people it's not or is it just waiting I mean it doesn't start till April right yeah we start in April um I I guess the concern that I have is other programs have registrations open right and we want to we want to say hey parents here's here's here's another program right you choose and I totally get that but if I were you I would hold off till the middle of January till the kids come back so that we can have a more informed decision for you well we'll probably have an answer for you okay because we're going to meet but I wouldn't do anything beforehand maybe you put hey coming soon this program or get ready for spring cuz we're having this program but I mean putting a date and a time is just and even a to be determined is okay so we have regulations we have to follow understood and and I want to respect I want to respect the process so that specific flyer if we if we remove the dates and we just say spring 2025 M um you know and coming soon spring 2025 would that suffice right check us out online like be ready like okay so so so we'll modify that flyer um with not a TBD um and not a specific April Etc we just say spring 2025 coming soon register now here's the program get excited I don't think it was the just for absolute clarification here when you say Big Field what are you thinking of for Dimensions um a football field yeah just a football field 100 by 50 100 by 50 um yards yeah and then and then we we play horizontal not the vertical way um so horizontal is roughly about about um 25 yards by 60 give or take so you know um and and you know with with maybe three to five yards in between for Sid lines um so when I say big I guess that's that's my description of a big now do you use flags or do you line um we have our lining machine so so we we line the field with uh with the grass um grass um liner um field would be Tic Tac Toe down there okay we're going to move forward I want to thank you very much for coming I want to thank you guys as well make Peter your contact yes uh Peter will reach out to us for anything and we look forward to seeing you again perfect before can I I just want to take down La first and last names um just I just want to make sure that I that I have it as part of my notes Peter can send it to you yeah along with the application right Peter thank you email address you have our email address that's fine yeah you have mine and yours we both put it in at the zoom call awesome um you guys thank you so much have a wonderful evening it it's cold outside see happy holiday thank you and good luck like I I agree with Mike I think it's the future and parents want to keep their kids safe and I I think we have hockey kids right so if you watch the girls play hockey and you watch the boys play hockey the girls girls have more finesse because they're not allowed to hit until they get older well they girls can't hit anyway but they are much better than the boys until the boys get a lot older well the boys can't hit till they're 11 or 12 bantom yeah so you can't hit until you're 1th or 12 13 oh the hockey kid 13 yeah 13 you're not allowed to check till you're 13 right which is huge it's all about sa because the bodies aren't right developed enough but I I don't want to get into it I'll have people call no it's you know unfortunately unfortunately we had a number of kids who um you know one parent this past season um her child was playing um he he was playing on tackle um third game into the season he was out with a concussion for the rest of the season and the kid was um 12 years old so you know I'm not I'm not anti- tackle football but at at a certain age you know parents want to keep their kids safe are they just not ready for it at lot of in these popcor Le don't allow their kids to tackle to their game right but who knows so then you can't practice yep okay all right well thank you thank you so much you as well all you guys thank you thank you okay chair can we take a brief brief recess down over here so it's not recording or streaming currently that's okay keep going okay you can keep going we're going to keep going so we on T yeah we we'll just keep up no John Miranda is supposed to do these the ones at Ted Williams Camp other than that we don't have any to be cleaned we will have somean but it'll be protected you know um do you think a 4ft fence is going to protect that mobile unit I it might be six I think it's probably six I've seen kids climb the tennis court fence oh listen I I believe it but we're just looking for some kind of barrier so that they just don't go in there I mean we have locked as much of the field as we can um so so we went with that fencing instead of bleachers or instead of yeah because bleachers they don't want and Benes we don't need bleachers cuz no one no one sits there and Benes we have plenty of so we went with the fences because I think it it'll have more use or better use for that so so that money is drained gamage playground are you spending the $284 nope I already told them it was done uh skate park improvements we have 5,692 52 con field water electric still at 15 that'll be in the spring and we have $24,000 in ARA funds for the security camera project at Ted Williams of which we have $ 8,242 left over winning bid came in at 14 and change uh not including the bid is digging a trench which is500 from Clancy uh we should be starting that in the next week uh Carrie and I are working on that we're going to meet with the contractors next week uh Lieutenant uh Mal has been a great help he confirmed everything looked good on the bid uh explained to me everything that's going on so that's it for all of our arpa before we get to um do we have any so here's a go ahead is the this money year end money like do you have to use the rest of the skate park money by the end of the year no the skate park money carries over because it's a not arpa it's a different account and this arper one is good to the end of 2026 for the camera so it's no issue y um the money that we received for the engineering plan in um Clear Pond Park is that sitting anywhere is there a count number because I have I hear different stories how much is in there is it is there an actual account where we have how much is in there I don't believe so but it they approved $45,000 all right I mean there should be something available right so when we get to that okay I was just asking and do we have a place for the CPC money for John Pond Park is that no the CPC holds onto that until you okay until you use it get all their speaking of yeah wait you got something to say wait we get about it and I don't I don't know anything that's fine no no I just talking about money so great job Peter we're all great job Peter you deserve a raised ra becomes effective when he does that's one of the alerts okay I was going to say that's why I said no you can't have one um I wrote some notes on the alerts if anybody had any questions on them because it doesn't they don't bother me um the rental Studio he's caught up right the 36225 3625 he's up to date um he hasn't paid this month but he's been much better oh good so that we're getting it okay Prett much monthly L when does the extra money kick in for Moon Pond March March that was my that was another one of my things no problem so where we budgeted we're right now we're under 68,000 and when they pay their fees it's 695 so we're we'll be fine which one are you looking at uh the lodge fixed fee yep 695 from what I understand where I'm thinking is March April May and June was not put in the budget for the extra money was that was that just fluff for us so that's that's not in the budget but we'll see it at the end of the year the extra 1500 yeah okay okay next where are we five discuss the need and location of aeds possible vote on purchasing new ones so as you know we had tabled this from the last meeting uh at the end of after the department head I sat down with the fire chief and talked about these aeds because I know Melissa you said that um luran said that we needed five or should could get five I don't quite remember but so I sat sat down with him and he said that um the fire department nor the town has any requirement for them um he also said that if we are going to P to purchase them we'll be responsible for servicing them and we will be liable in case of any malfunction or incorrect use of it so from what I gather on that and having another discussion with him about that is generally aads are only supposed to be used by people who are trained on them and as Middleboro does they have their lifeguards have them and if we have if we decide to have a clear Pond fire department will train the lifeguards and the parks director there how to use so then there's uh there's a system procedures and the fire department will quote back it up because they're the ones who are training them but um so and my concerns before were is that I think the liability on us just throwing it out there without anyone training or using them or if they're working is a huge liability to us I think personally too because uh if the town doesn't require it or the fire department doesn't require it and we're putting it out there without having people trained on it that's going to come back to us and I don't want it coming back to us because we really never had a a procedure on it I mean I know in the beginning we were thinking of training people but that wasn't going to work because you have different coaches and the accessibility so um so my thought and of course we'll have a discussion on this is I think we just get rid of all aeds um if the groups want to use them they can take bring their own train whoever they want to train on them I just don't want our name on it Lon Pawn's the same way uh if they want theirs they can do it I can tell you right now I'll call them Mar I'm sure they don't have one in their restaurant um Lun Pon Lodge No Bost and Tavern I can tell you they don't have one but so you know there's no reason for them to have it there if if they want to buy one and train that's fine but I think anyone and I agree anyone who should who should or will use them should be trained properly on there it doesn't mean that we're I think we should buy them train people because that's not going to work we had one out here obviously we had problems with the ones we had and that just I I don't think it's necessary I already talked to soccer and soccer is going to have theirs if they want it so like I said I I brought this up um I talked to the fire chief he expressed his concerns which was enough for me and I would just like to take this off our plate completely I also think that we need to buy a new one for Clear Pond get everybody trained by the fire department have them all sign that they were trained and have backup on that so that we're covered but anywhere else I don't think it's our responsibility any thoughts uh so just to clarify the one at Clear Pond if it's trained by the fire department we still own the liability um put it this way our liabil our liability will be a lot less because the fire department is doing the training on it okay and we'll have them sign a certificate of training so now we're we're just providing a piece of equipment that that of course should be needed at a pool right and talking to Middleboro that's why they do that right but they don't do it anywhere else so yes yeah personally I think it's a good idea around water um the lifeguards are CPR certified anyway so they already know but it's nice to have another piece of equipment the fire department will train them we'll give them a certificate so now we're and we would still do the maintenance on that one pardon me we would do the responsible for the well we would have I would I would bring it to the fire department at the end of the season say here yeah you keep it you service it you do everything and they sign off that we service it so as long as we have a service log yep and that we're doing this and it's a pool we're good but there's no there's no uh all the other recourse I think is worse at the other places so ahead my only other question so this quote here is for the one the 4197 right so the quote is well no they're they're just for if we were the buy yeah for one is $13.99 we and these are the automated ones well we can get the supercharged ones I think it's called we also asked for a price for a waterproof case yes but it'll be inside Aton yeah we won't need to do that and then over the winter the fire department will hold on to or we can store it yeah exactly we can inside somewhere but the question is I had did talk to Scott about this because I know he was going to be here is do we want to buy two one for a backup in case God forbid something happens to this and it's got to go for service then we don't have anything there or we just rely on the Lifeguard so 3 by two if if we decide to do this I'm just saying idea we've had um since we've had the aeds we have been responsible for servicing them and we have serviced them every year we check the B the pads we checked the batteries we've taken care of that it's only been a problem this year because they're so old right so I don't I think that's just an excuse what did Chief O'Brien recommend he recommended taking all Chief O'Brien recommended taking all aeds out of the parks Chief O'Brien said that um they didn't require it yeah Town didn't require it it would be our responsibility buy a purchases and we would be liable in case anything would be wrong not fire department not the police department it would fall on us okay but it's been that way for years what did Chief O'Brien recommend I didn't ask for him for a recommendation he just my recommendation is what I was told saying I don't want to be personally right what you wanted is what you asked right I don't want to be reliable because if you think that the town is going to be behind us I mean it's no different than putting out than putting up Tylenol everywhere and saying hey break this glass if you want to use that that is a very okay obscene okay but put it this way do you agree or not agree that anyone uses an AED should be trained no well I mean everybody a place anywhere in town where they have an AED everybody should be trained on CPR anyway that's General should be all of our leagues we sent an invitation to them and gave them two choices for our sponsored one by the fire station one by the liance club that they had the opportunity to come and be trained right so these aeds any want to come no they didn't but that's not on us we did what we could do it's on us because it's our piece of equipment and if people aren't trained plus tell me the procedures down there were not that thing was locked up half the time you press the button and it tells you exactly I'm saying no AED available half the time when the snap bar was closed and nobody knew it was there at John Pon Park people knew it was there they just chose not to take it out so how good is it it's an option good so my I just I can't I'm not I cannot get on board with taking all the aeds out of here because for $4,000 if it saves one life or it gives one person that extra 5 minutes then it's worth it and I I don't have a problem but if if we someone's tray put I don't want to we've all worked too hard for the money we have this is going to blow back on us personally it's not going to blow back on they're not going to sue you you have peanuts they're going to sue the town they they're going to sue wher everything they get the money from the town has got a limit and I promise you look what would have happened if if they use that that AED over there it blew out it wasn't working oh guy would have used it and it didn't work wasn't the towns it wasn't the fire departments it wasn't the police departments it's too much risk first it's too much risk to me I'll I'll be selfish I'm not putting my my everything that I work for online that's just me I'm not talking about anyone but I'm not doing it the leagues can bring their own soccer's going to get their own if softball and blooper ball they can all get together buy one put it and train themselves their responsibility to do that I should not sleep at night because they didn't do that or I shouldn't sleep at night cuz I'm worried if that thing is going to work or if it's available to anyone any adds and I agree with it because I had them in the hotels the front Des people were trained on it and you know it's just it's not like a fire extinguisher where you just grab it and and and you do something here you say it's easy to do what it is maybe it is maybe it isn't but I don't want to have the personal Li ability and you like I said even if these people who make applications and they give us that you know they have the insurance that's only a little blockade they'll still come after the town and they can come after us we sat down with with uh John Al and he said yeah I mean it's nice to have it but it doesn't protect us doesn't protect anyone no so you're you would lose sleep on the chance that you were be sued and I would lose sleep that somebody needs it and I didn't provide it and they might die so that no that's everybody's got their own decision iose don't put it that way don't put it that way if Lon Pond wants to have theirs why should we provide them for Lon Pond there are business if there people in there why should we pay for Lon pond it's still our property still Town property just because it's without propery doesn't mean anything they're going to sue us all right isn't that what you just said so it doesn't really matter shopping mall should I have aeds everywhere in the shopping mall there are aeds in a store oh my God what was the last time you were at the mall there are aeds pull up a map of them all right now it'll show you where they are they're not in the stores are they I don't know but the mall has them they're not in the stores are there any in town hall I haven't seen any in town hall cuz the fire station there I bet I I bet you they don't have it at the library I I would be surprised that if any place you would have it is a COA I don't know if there's one there either I don't think they have them I don't think they have them in any Town property because one they have um fire department the police department okay but my point is I understand how you're feeling but it's not our responsibility to do that that's my point just because it was there before it's not our responsibility to make sure that the leagues have an AED it's up to them it's it's up to whoever's down there it's up to us I can understand Clear Pond because there's water involved and we have people trained there okay but I I I I just don't and I said this before and I know you remember last year and you did say the same thing but is it is it worse is it worse to say that I won't be able to sleep if we don't have it and someone dies or is it worse that that we do have one and it's locked up and no one can get to it and they're 40 ft away but it's worse I think having one 40 ft away and they can't use it because nobody took it out or or or it's not being used yeah I don't I think that it's not having it we didn't provide one and the person dies that we provided it that person chose not to use it I can only we can only do so much we provided it if they don't want to use it that's I can't make them use it can't you can leave the horse to water but you can't make it drink it's right there and if I don't provide it and something happens then why doesn't the town have it everywhere around town I you would have to check with the town I don't know the answer you understand my point you can't have aeds everywhere okay so at this point we just vote right well no my my my question is if the town doesn't require it fire department doesn't require it Police Department don't require it the state department the state doesn't require it I talked to Middleboro they said it's up to them the football then I'm satisfied with that so yeah so you see it as a league thing I see it as a community thing not just right so at that point what do we do do we vote you guys are on opposite ends we we know it this way but so next step I will make a motion make a motion and I know she'll vote with me um so I I make a motion that we eliminate all aeds except for Clear Pond um I would like to purchase I would like to purchase two a Clear Pond one for a backup and we will give Lon Pond notice till January 1st L Pon Lodge notice to replace it or don't use it and and um I think that's it you can you think of anything else you want I don't think we get two well you have to vote on the motion well let's vote on the motion then we can amend the motion amend it after okay so what you second it first second yeah do you second are you finished making I'm losing okay second now any discussion I don't think we should get to I think in theory having the backup is a good idea but then they're going to be new on the same date they're going to expire on the same date you may never even use the second one it's just going to be useless I think if one needs to be repaired we borrow one from the fire station or from the police station I'm sure they have an ex so you want to make a motion with the amendment you amend so vote on the amendment first and then you can all right so I make a motion to amend the motion the motion and only purchase one okay now we vote on the amendment now we vote on the Amendment does someone have to second it yes not if we're doing an amendment on there you still have to second yep I second we're voting on the amendment to not buy two and just do one yeah it makes sense to me for the reason the batteries are going to die at the same time so is it going to be a yay or a nay how was the question so the question says that that you don't want to vote you don't want to buy to just one right right so I'm the motion was to change the two to one so I you say I you want to do two or one she want one one uh I'll say I I think yeah two for a Cleon is silly okay motion passes on the amendment now we're going to vote on the motion the amended motion then is to eliminate all aeds except one at Clear palom Park and purchase one AED for Clear Bond Park yes that's the new motion now that it's beened and we already discussion Carrie discussion no you else no I'm sorry I hear you yay y my motion so yay just one yep no to eliminate all the to eliminate all the other ones oh yeah and then yeah okay I'm y Melissa no okay motion passes um we will purchase uh a from the fire department for the price of$ 13.99 plus tax or whatever now now that we've decided that um Chief O'Brien has an AED that he's thinking to replace because it's a little bit older did he mention that do you interested in that I want to buy a new one because the one that we we're going to get is a supercharged one okay so I would rather just buy the newest model so we don't have to worry about could that be a backup though if we can't loan can we just loan one from the fire department while ours is in service well let's wait to see if we have to back it up my goal now is just to buy a brand new and that's supercharged y but but we don't need to do that until spring yeah but we will have to get everyone trained certified yeah um next I'm sorry folks item six discuss and vote an appointment of Representative Clear Pond Park engineering plan committee Melissa um so I met with Nate and Andrew this week and I gave them our list of requirements and um we chatted for a while and um Nate's going to look into the septic because you know there's no sense putting a new building y if we need new septics so he's going to work on that and he has the whole natural heritage and the conservation concom really things so he's going to look into that and Andrew is going to go with environmental partners and um work on adding because in the previous proposal it didn't have all the things that we had it was just a more of a overall General thing so he's going to talk to them to add things we asked for and he said they don't think that it's really going to affect the price and their price was 39 it was like 397 how much did we have 45 45 so that would be good you think it'll still come in under that budget but they did say they want to do a commission uh yeah so it'll be Andrew wants to be on it which is of course Frank Nate and Paul and they want one representative from The Parks Commission isn't that you we need to vote on it so we have two no they only want one they only want um I mean obviously that person will bring back everything to our meetings and going and go back and forth so I thought we voted to have you do it I don't know that we actually voted well here you anyway well if they want to vote we need to vote and if does anybody else wanted anybody else interested uh no whizzle KN going on so and you were very instrumental in it and you know a lot about it and you dealt with the Brian Day situation down there so um questions first before we vote on it is um so have we met the requirement of arpa that we just needed to sign a contract with environmental Partners um yeah so apparently when this was when Ari reached out to them and had them draw up the thing environmental Partners was just waiting for the yay or the Nay and all that needed to be done was the contract signed like and then it got lost sois because it's been so long that's why Andrew is going back to them another reason because it's too been too long ago okay for it to be uh official so where does the contract stand now uh he was going to keep us updated um my our meeting was Tuesday so I don't know I haven't heard anything but like I said my only concern is whether requirements to meet arpa because I think that money needs to be spent by December 3 it has to be signed by signed by December so we will take care of that yeah so it it went back and forth yes it did no it didn't I my understanding was no it didn't so we'll we'll get it done signed by then so it doesn't really matter but okay yeah I make a motion to nominate Melissa turot to would you be the chair who would be the no I have no idea who would be the chair just representative Melissa turot is the parks representative to this committee discussion Choice V yes yay yay no discussion yay that's fine you're all set so um we don't need to see the contract you'll sign it or do you no you have to sign it before I don't know if I'm signing it or Andrew is signing it I well either way either doesn't matter um oh here's the other question so EV has the EP environmental Partners has the things that we came up with building and everything like that yeah so that list went to Andrew Andrew's bringing it to enir department so the important thing to me is by April is to have a figure attached to this so we can I can present it at the capital expenditure committee and get the money from free cas being that we just spent half a million down there it makes sense that we get that Capital money and spend it over there so that's my wish but I think that's what we should do think it's possible no it'll have General estimate on the but it's not going to have enough details for each thing like this is a overall this is what needs to be done this is the best way to do it this is what we think so it's not going to be done one whole piece cuz you're talking probably Millions so it's going to be probably a big piece and then little pieces here and there so yeah so when you do the big piece then that is going to have to be like re not re-engineered but like kind of re-engineered like it's just we could do it over three years we can ask for 200 one year 150 another 200 well you can ask for anything no but I'm saying that makes sense to you I mean like the parking lot would be the first parking lot is definitely yeah the bathrooms though no I rearranged our list into like priorities in that parking lot was the first really even above the bathroom yeah cuz the bathrooms are still functional yeah where the parking lot is Just Cars get stuck it literally smells like if it rains too much in the summer and the puddles stay there it smells the mosquitoes come it's just it's bad this year we didn't have that big of a problem because we only had like a couple rainstorms this summer but the year before we were closed like a lot and it was always wet and smelly and gross and literally the lifeguards were pushing cars out of the parking lot out of the if it's paved it's still it's never going to be paved it can't PVE conservation CRA there try to it'll be just like we did it at the commissioner's field it's got to be rough graded and stone and everything okay next let got some possible voting request for event for cranberry trifest August 25th 2025 Peter and I had a chat with Jeff is the last month Peter and we had a discussion on it um Peter sent him the the application he sent it back this is uh this is something we do every year guys it's a trifest I think you've all been there we seeing it it's very well run very organized very easy for us it's a I don't think it costs us anything but uh so cranberry trifest he's looking uh same thing tww through Lakeville neighboring cud communities Roots uh he does once we approve this he needs to go to the select board and police and get permission for using the roads and everything like that in police detail for what they pay uh he said that he would agreed to an increase from $750 to $8 um it's a 50 c increase I know when I talked to him I kind of scared him I said sure we'll take 10 this year and he laughed and I knew he would laugh uh but so my opinion before we open it up is that this is a great source of income from us it's pretty it's all profit uh they signed a deal with Lon PL Lodge to do a chicken a chicken or Mexican barbecue barbecue so they do a barbecue so they pay them a fee separately and then they pay this this feed to us directly they didn't used to do that before I don't think but well they used to do it and then that one year they did not they didn't right so this would come directly to us um my thoughts and I'd also talk to Scott but he's not here to vote is that we don't raise it um I don't want him as out pricing him and go somewhere else because there are a lot of towns that would love to have it and all you need is a parking area and road so I would like to keep him here he's been very good he was very organized last year very organized and he had cleaned up so thoughts why did he offer to raise the price because I scared them oh so you were teasing them and then he's I kind of scared what did I say 10 bucks we voted last year to charge 10 $10 for 2025 that's what I thought that's what I thought so do you have to stand by that vote you voted on that no we we don't have to stand by that we can always change anything I mean we can vote on it but understanding what he was telling us I don't think he'll do that because his he's got thin margins I mean obviously he's got to make money because I'm not quite sure if l p Lodge raised their fee I think it was $35 person well he charges $20 a person so that would be silly yeah so anyway how many people attend this like how many a lot hundreds hundreds yeah hundreds so we make what it What was the revenue last year four four about $4,000 $4,000 which this is just you know they set up on a Thursday they leave on a Sunday and we don't do anything so uh my my two senses we just leave it the same but he's offering 8 $8.50 then great I'll take the 50 discussion questions before we make a motion any thoughts just for your information this past year it was $4,875 at $8 that's at 750 at 750 so we did already bring them up 50 cents no no no it was 750 last year so why did he say he okay okay so50 $4,875 he did not raise his prices this year they the same as they were last year to the people who were okay um I'll make a motion then we'll discuss I make a motion that we accept cranberry trifest for August 22nd 25 to August 25th 25 5 a.m. 4: p.m. at the rate of $88 per person second discussion he does a really great job he's easy to work with the last guy was a little yeah you remember sketch sorry I'm a little confused so at the beginning you said you didn't want to increase the price because you don't want him to go elsewhere he didn't want to increase it to $10 okay sorry okay um yeah so if you're good with the eight then I'm good with that otherwise I'd suggest meeting him in the middle and increasing 25 cents so I'm saying $8 that's my motion yeah okay I agree discussion is done yeah the only drawback is he does take no other events can happen here from the 822 to 8:25 so that is kind of well that's up it wouldn't affect our events for for anything so no Sara still goes yeah well it's the end of August so there's really right so you're saying we have to notify lomon Lodge so that they're they know they know cuz he's already booked there for Sunday afternoon so yeah so we shouldn't mess anything Carrie yes no yes I I all I Peter we will let him go thought he wanted you to vote there Peter S we have to take his paycheck away exactly you can't P unless you're selected for the paycheck okay Peter yes sir number eight all right um the yeah for Carrie and for Britany this is the first time you'll have seen this but every year the commission the Parks Commission uh assesses a field usage fees to the different leagues based Bas on their usage of electricity for lights concession stand uh irrigation and uh and also tries to recoup some of the fertilizer costs and um and so what we do is keep track of the electricity usage from roughly April through March or April through November and then using those figures calculate the uh uh the usage proportionally so anyway uh with having had received all those uh electricity bills and got that all calculated this uh this little spreadsheet shows where things stand uh so uh let me just explain the uh the invoice for last year is the First Column this is the field use usage fee that was charged to the different teams or leagues for La for 2023 we have a uh a policy where for the next year uh they can prepay uh their field usage fee early at a 5% discount from the previous year's fee is there a reason why we do that yes to get them to pay early because otherwise otherwise just chasing it all year yeah so if we before we didn't do that this was new this year yep so um what happens is they charge like blooper ball doesn't keep a bank account so they just charge the people what they think they're going to need so by getting the $300 bill at the end of the season then they have to chase each of their players down to get that portion whereas if they pay for it up front they know exactly what they're paying and can charge their players early so the players have to pay and Peter's not knocking on doors chasing people down okay all right so then the next four columns irrigation lights concession fertilizer outlines the actual uh charges to each of the leagues and then the the following total of the 224 total would be is the actual um uh charge for this year um and then you have the amount due if if they paid ahead of time uh then there's nothing do even if uh so that's where most of the zeros are the only the only teams that didn't prepay were uh Samurai baseball men's softball and of course the library is not a league anyway so those are the only teams that didn't pay ahead of time so they'll be charged so the only charges going out this uh this year at the right now would be $200 100 for Samurai baseball and 100 for men's softball and looking ahead to 2025 um if you there's a couple of columns here where like a youth softball um their total for this year is actually 461 but they prepaid 588 and so they'll actually get a credit next year on any on their payment so so it looks like um a lot of the prepaid is less yeah than what they spent they got 5% oh is it is it 5% is that what those numbers are or not maybe maybe they prepaid 5% less than their the previous year's invoice so right yeah but so would so just say for coed blooper ball they they actually used $768 y of stuff but they prepaid the $6.99 that's 5% the difference between those two numbers no it's more right no because it's 5% of the 2023 right so they're not paying for what they're actually they get a good deal they got a good deal yeah it it helps them to pay ahead of time yeah yeah but it's worth it for us to lose that well but basically what it happens is that that um we're going to the uh if they prepay ahead of time for next year they're going to be doing it based on the 2024 total not right so the problem with that though is every year prices go up for these companies lights electricity goes up you can vote to change the policy if you want this is what we're just discuss it now but just give an idea I'm just seeing that we're just discussing it now we're losing out on money and they're getting a big deal that's what I'm noticing right so I was thinking maybe we get rid of the 5% cuz I also not I also noticed um I want to add it all up but no you don't want to add it all up we just get rid of the 5% and they just pay us last year's total so now this is in addition to the fees that we charge them so they pay their fee and then they also have to pay for their extra right and they don't seem to I mean maybe Carrie is in the inside so maybe she can speak to it but they don't seem to mind paying this extra whereas if we were to increase their fees to collect this extra they'd be like ah our fees went up yeah so I mean because they can see we used it we're going to pay for it right right right and then if we showed them the whole the next page then they'd be like oh all right we'll pay the $400 because it's better than the $1,000 and the lights they have control of the lights if they're paying for explain can you explain Peter how you figure out who gets what well as far the lights the only team let's see the uh horseshoes has their own uh all the lights for horseshoes are simply on one uh meter so horses shoes is easy we just charge distance a pass through they turn their on and off yeah exactly yeah that's uh coed volleyball their lights are on another pole with I think a maintenance poll and so it's just uh when we get to it the uh the the fee schedule that we voted on we just decided to charge them $100 a year for lights because we don't have any idea how much electricity they use for lights I would be interested to know how much the bill is for that poll you can look at it on the next page the next page has it but that's a tough one too because the volleyball lights have been messed up traditionally for years the last you can't charge them the whole and it has a parking lot light and that light also lights up some of um another Court it looks like the maintenance pole is 561 for the Y physical year and they're only paying the 100 yes but we have no idea how much of that is right I wonder could we just I mean they're not playing volleyball for the whole year right every all of these months they actually play well this goes from March to November so it's and they play and they don't play that whole time I don't believe but they play a lot cuz if if you say they play the three months and then you know you do the math you divide you can actually see right but yeah they don't yeah I think $100 for those 15 players I think is yeah fair I mean you can motion or vote mhm whatever you want but who has volleyball Mike you have volleyball yeah once you both of them once you like see them and talk to them and like get a feel for them like I feel I feel bad for them like there's like not that much many of them and they have to pay for their insurance which is really expensive and like it's just they pay the same as a group that has a lot more people and gets their insurance through a different group so it's discounted and yada yada yada so I don't know so the only um and again uh FLA they have their the lights on that ball field on their own meter and so that's just a a charge through uh 100 what is it the 156 yeah so um then so the two the three that are are are calculated more carefully are the two blubber ball teams and and the uh softball softball team and I could show you it's just a kind of a complex spreadsheet yeah it's and basically it's based on the it's based on the number of hours right that they have reserved the fields uh and then you figure out uh how many of those hours are played uh under the lights that is from Sunset onward MH and and total up all those hours for each of the three leagues and then proportionally um divide up the the electrical use usage for for the season and then so next year we're going to have also Commissioners field there's no lights no we're not putting lights on there right we won't have any expenses down there CU we won't need Porta either yeah yeah we'll put the trailer but the trailer we don't do an extra fee for the trailer that's just their fee I would imagine well we're since we took over a softball Porta poot um it's not fair to charge any of the other leagues for their P ofies um so yeah but it it'll be a water it'll be an electric bill that we'll just have to eat but that also comes with like Carri said a cleaning thing and um historically we don't even know if that works it's been sitting for a couple years plug it in run water and hopefully it worked well I mean if it it's taking electricity well no cuz there's no electricity down there so yeah we're hoping that it's because it'll be dedicated water dedicated electricity so it's not coaches plugging it in and priming it and all that stuff that it won't break down at all but we can all wish so in terms of uh sort of the implications for right this moment the the only implications here is basically I'm going to be charging Samurai baseball and and invoicing Samurai baseball and and then softball for their uh for their um field usage fee and that's it for this year and we're done for 2024 in the library and as far as any any credits and and charges for next year that will have to be determined when we get to discuss the be schedule for next year right so something to think about is like Britney said all of our electric and our fertilizer and our irrigation water is going to go up so I might I would be willing to charge them last year's total without the 5% knowing that it's probably going to go up 5% next year so they're already saving on top of that I think they should pay for what they use wait don't do the prepaid thing it the we weren't getting paid it was yeah it was oh okay you weren't getting anything at all plus it's easier for the leagues like I was trying to say to that guy like if you're going to charge $25 per player you have to know ESP said he was not nonprofit so like you need to calculate out how much you need to charge to make it work well if he's not he's not nonprofit so he's got a padding in there you don't have to worry about that right but like softball or baseball for example like they don't and they need to consider like you guys the or us the fees uniforms Insurance you know all that yeah is there can we have them do what you said pay from last year and then if when we get the thing at the end of the year and it's a little bit over charge them sometimes they don't have their fees until you don't get paid early enough when is the day due to pay early well it's we when before the end of the season yeah when they start their their season so for instance if if we had done it that way this year the 876 minus $6.99 it would be in the DU right and they would pay that we could on top of next year's that that's that way they are still paying for what they're using and still [Music] prepaying just just something yep something to think about yeah exactly it's just we it was we just did it that way for a convenience so they didn't have to owe us anything at the end of the season a convenience to us to Peter right and a convenience to the Lees right well we can guesstimate or estimate as best as we can and then let them know you know prices for this stuff goes up every year this is what we think it's going to be if it's a little bit less you'll get a credit if it's a little bit more you'll get a bill yeah when we get there you can absolutely make that motion go ahead Mike okay we're next into review fees of 2025 just a second all right take your time this is where I get all you want me to do it so last year this year we went up a dollar a150 for the regular season per players and we added the $2 per player charge for tournaments and Clinics and then $10 per player for all groups coming from out of town um yeah and then the event fee which was the mixtape that no longer comes here cuz we out priced them and the trifest we were supposed to move to $10 but I we settled on $8 for that for this year um cranberry trifest is the biggest the one we just voted on the biggest person to come and then flat fee in Li of per player fee because fla they don't use our field as much as they used to so they play us a flat fee of3 ,000 and we actually make out because they haven't had as many people and the same thing with Northeast beach volleyball they use us as like a backup so that's why we do the flat fee of $1,500 there's not that many of them either no and then the field usage lights we just talked about same as concessions and irrigation um You probably you heard us talking about the library because the library and soccer are on the same well so as far as the water goes it gets split between soccer and the library um field usage fertilizer we we I actually came up with a whole couple years ago thing like this is how much fertilizer we use for how many square fet it is and how much time everybody uses on it but this is what we settled on instead of that complex algorithm like computer uses for the lights um we just settled on charging those field usage charges for fertilizer so just out of curiosity why is baseball paying more like do they use more Fields they Reserve time for they Reserve most the field okay it's more more availability to them y okay so just to when I look at the league fees I'm always for raising them he is and I would I would I would raise is up 30% if I could but but here's the issue our lead fees are 35 ,000 a year we get in revenue from all the leagues okay the leag fees cover 177% of our expenses and I'm deducting clear Pond's expenses from there so our Lea fees cover 177% of our expenses now we didn't have LOM Pond what what what would we do just I'm just making a point that I think right that we're still low because leafy should be our our bread and butter luckily you know Lon Pond is here but God forbid economy goes down and we can't get paid as much or whatever then we're really going to be stuck we're going to look to maybe lay off people and stuff and I'm not looking to jump jump jump but we have to increase it every year because fertilizer labor insurance goes up at least 5% a year at least sometimes up to 10 I know insurance has gone up exponentially but it's only covering 177% of our nut and it should be covering a lot more than that well they pay their own insurance no no I'm talking about our liability insurance our insurance for employees and all of that stuff so when I get griefed for doing that I'm just saying it's just the cost of living has gone up and I I don't know what to do whether we have too many expenses and stuff but we reli too much definitely that we we we we relied a lot on Lon Pond which is nice for now but it doesn't mean it's going to be there next year or the year after for the next two years we pretty good I'm saying if everything goes well but I'm just saying we we what happens is is it's worse not raising fees for three years and then hitting with a big one whoa wait a minute I'm paying three more dollars I agree with that than it is to pie every year okay okay okay well the other part of that is we did absorb Porta feeds is she so it's $700 a month for two portapotty in a handwashing station um there your fees just cover MH that like there's not a lot of extra we have no railro people so I think uh obviously we're not going to discuss that now but we will in January I think when thinking about what the fees are and please look at the budget that we need to come up with a a plan over the next three years and say this is where we want to be and let's figure out how we can get to that because at to that point because like you said Melissa said who knows Blom who knows I mean it's great but the the deal we got is great but then if they say we're not going to do it then we could lose 20 $30,000 a year so I think instead of just uh we'll do 50/50 cense or whatever I think we really need to look at it and say this is where we want to be by 20 27 and say all right it's got to go up another dollar it's got to go up another dollar it's got to go $2 or or whatever it is I think people need to understand I mean they can easily raise their rates to to program if it's costing them an $3 per person or I mean a dollar per person then then then then give it to the parents I mean we're not talking about hundreds of we're not talking about $100 a kid or anything like that or him going up $100 but you know we're we're not a charity here and um and everything is going up and I just think that we are low um so in the future we're either going to do two things stay at this level and cut a ton of expenses or raise it according to where we want to be and what the cost of living is or add more leads good you can add more RS how was if we get another the softball league and and they want to play at the same time what can we do well a softball or blooper ball would be tough but we do have one softball field here no I understand that but even then it's not it's not going to do anything if if we get an extra $1,200 a year it's still not that that won't even cover the uh increase in in fertilizer I no but football's a option um field hoe is a option kind of they're options but they're not they're not guaranteed giving gued giving giving a raise to someone is guaranteed if we raise it a dollar it's guaranteed they're not softball no one's going to leave because of a dollar increase nobody do the leagues that are for profit pay the same per player fee all of our leagues pay the same thing no matter what we don't care we well some of us don't care so I have a question so we're looking at this now but then we keep saying we'll vote on it later January so why are we looking at it now because well this is just giving an idea of of what we've done what the increase has been year toe what our expenses are to take a look at it so when we do come back in January you'll have a lot more information to you want and then when we have the meeting you'll have a lot more questions and then when we come up to a consensus on what we want to do then we can get it done but you know I would first I would rather have everybody here anyway but um this is just just like what Peter did before this is just a heads up get your information read it send out questions and then we meet in January um everyone has the uh the information they need right so we don't have to talk into death now no no no we're done unless anybody else wants yeah I do cuz that's what I do I would like this to be a fee schedule and not a league fee schedule and I would like to have um Lakeville MMA on here as well because if we're raising everybody else's price price they should not be excluded that's up for discussion 100% I agree with say that again I want l l bill mixed martial arts to be included on the spe schedule do they pay for electric but that's that's a contract with the town it is a contract we got to see when it end is it yearly or every three year what is there a contract contract with the town and it went up last year I think he signed it last year last year so good point Peter good point Peter no more contracts well um okay I think it'd only went up like $50 so I know it's okay next number 11 maintenance updates so let me give you some idea of what happen number 10 um yeah number 10 oh the form thank you just the this is the same thing this is not for Action now just for review so that we can act on it in January but these are the the two forms that we use for application for Field Court time and also a request for uh tournament the forms that are used by the leagues these need to be reviewed and updated for each year so for example um Britney you'll see uh on the back of the first of the first form which is request for event or Field Court time under the 20 2024 rates and fees the second bullet is the one that um addresses the the discount so for example this is it's in in putting together this um application that's where you'd want to perhaps amend that something different I wrote past year's rate on my form I'm on your screen screen thought okay some of the other things I know that we've talked about here in the past for amending for next year have been including some information about aeds about you know adding and that they provide their own provide their own that kind of thing uh so these are things that you need so those are the kinds of things so I would just recommend everyone look through it carefully for and uh and and so that in January we can uh update this for the for the next year yeah I was going to ask that so that's next meeting this will be brought up for official it needs to be done in January so we can then get it out for just so I'm ready I don't come we have we have a budget to do so we got to figure ex so it'll be the next meeting in January yeah yes we'll have to go over that so the sooner the better right cuz this has to go out to our people so that you can let so that they can f get it back in a week two weeks to get him answer we're going to have to meet with them and everywhere yeah any thought in location putting commissioner field on there and that's really another field instead of Williams yes putl it into two Ted Williams I Commission because it's two different things we'll talk about it they should consider yeah and then we'll have to decide how you want to refer it because Ted Williams Camp commissioner's field is really in Ted Williams Camp so maybe a different name for these fields these fields well because it says listed specific field courts you intend to use can you just do that's why I say C field is separate right but look at location it says Ted Williams Camp John Pond Park Clear Pond Park right so can you just do TWC Das commissioner field and then just bring need to know though like if they want to use these fields or those some people ask for commissioner fields and they can't get it right right then this would be their backup this would be their so list somewhere I had um um list the specific Fields courts you intend to use and I put and times and days so the specific field what times and the days because normally we don't get that and on schedule it says list the days and times for the use of each field SLC court if necessary attach and upload a separate sheet they never do that they check off all the boxes and call it good yep and they say da to dusk and and that's it where I would really like to have a more specific this is our plan and it's going to have to be like that next year if we're going to get flag football onto commissioner field F hoe or anything else that wants El who wants to do it right but then also keep in mind if you guys are doing the or we are doing the electric fees and all that stuff based on hours and they're not requesting all those hours anymore that's going to go down so you know what I'm saying all right well let's go to the next because we'll discuss this in June right well if I have just one more the request for tournaments the clinics need to be added to all that too unless we're going to do a specific Clinic page and I don't think we need to do that well are we going to say Town Clinic and out of town Clinic yeah just like the tournaments it's the same $2 per player including players from visiting teams unless you're out of town and it's $10 all right are we good yep now I can go to 11 now I can okay uh maintenance updates I got good news and bad news can I just add one more thing on this yeah if if sorry just real quickly no problem if you um if you want email me with these different suggestions IDE then I can come to the next meeting with a draft of With The Changes make it a lot easier than having to go over but put them all in one thing don't put anyone's name on right I'll I'll send out an email reminding you that would be uh that would be helpful okay so good news and bad news on me the good news is there's no good news the bad news is so we've had some issues lately with our thing so one of the things we did was uh we had the electrician come in and label the circuit breakers cuz they weren't labeled either not labeled or not labeled property properly so we came in did all the certain break circuit breakers and the maintenance um just in the maintenance shed just in the um there's two in the maintenance shed so we just did those did all both of those cuz they that controls the whole building um so that's all nice and clear in case we have to go in there uh we're still having problems with our septic with our bathroom uh I don't know what's going on we when we closed it up we had some more back up it was just pumped in October could be a break issue I don't know we're going to have to we're going to have to put a camera down there in the in the spring but it's just not I I still think there's so much still clogged in there it's crazy but when we when we once to close it up the water came up the drains again which happened before and so whoever pumped it October didn't mention anything that could possibly have been wrong with it because it's I'm telling you I I just think it's something else that's all if there was a blockage they wouldn't they wouldn't know what pumping it it would need to be either snaked or it would need to be camed for us to see a blockage or break got to be a way to know if they're taking out however many gallons well does that make sense since the last time or are they only taken out a tiny bit well it's hard to tell because as you know when you pump measure no they have to they measure it cuz they charge you per what they take out gallon yeah yeah doesn't matter if it's all water yeah so if they're only taking out like a gallon of stuff and it's been a year obviously recognize the stuff they got out the last time was ridiculous yeah it was horrible so we probably going to have to look at it in the spring uh they karate had no heat a couple days ago so Paul and I went up there looked at the furnace there was no electric going to the switch and then we looked at that and then we called the furnace guy who came and luckily it wasn't much it was just a switch so now it's working um our major issue is here is um when I met with Paul this week when I got back I don't know early last week um I guess the the sinks the hardware to the sinks all three sinks at LOM Pond were not working and the toilet was not working so they're all busted so Heather called Paul directly and I thought she was supposed to call you in case anything yeah it must have been an emergency when I was on vacation okay that's fine I just wanted to make sure so anyway she called him directly and and he did what he was supposed to do which we would have done was called him anyway so he had the he had all the hardware replaced the toilet replaced so with labor materials and everything it's going to be close to four grand that's going to have to come out of our kitty so when that bill comes in we're going to have to figure out where we're going to put that and all that stuff needed to be replaced because the water wasn't running no no no no no it it yeah there was no water running and the seals I I don't think we've ever replaced that sounds like if the water wasn't running that's a water not running issue not no no it it wasn't that cuz the toilets one of the toilets wasn't working either but the other ones weren't but when he looked at it said it was all I think it's the original stuff that got there I mean I I trust Paul so he knows what he was doing he was there so that had to get done obviously because l p needs bathrooms I understand so that's just a bill that we're going to have to deal with when I get it and we'll discuss what account goes in I know we'll probably have the money for it but things some sometimes are going to be breaking and that's why my concern in the spring is when the everything thaws out we may see more but the good news is we have the do not break un L needed fund of $21,000 right but that fund is for a capital project projects which are larger projects than this and that we can use that for things if we had to replace all our toilets that's capital um was it just the ladies room cuz I know that's where they were having problems before did they checked the men's room long as they were doing it they went into whatever room went into lady's room there were no problems in there because Heather checked that supposedly and there was no problems there all the problems was in whatever bathroom I didn't if it was ladies or men's but it was all in one bathroom and she had called them and he took care of it there there that's just weird like there wasn't a underlying problem that would cause all those things because we knew like we went in to check the airators a month or so ago and I gave Paul the heads up and like so and it wasn't and then it just grew like what were the previous problems that you had just mentioned the airators so it because the flow on the sinks was coming out low so we thought maybe the air raater was blocked so we tried to get it but it was a special one so we couldn't get it but it went from one to two sinks to three sinks in a toilet mhm so so there's a blockage it sounds like it's a blockage in the waterline I don't know why they repl the toilet in if the other two toilets work like isn't that like super weird working now time out let me read this he said they called and mention three faucets not working I took it upon myself to get the process rolling to get them repaired figured it was important to do so I go same with the toilet correct and I said and one more thing when was the data service he said I'll get back to you on that so the three faucets were not working however they weren't working if they were just dripping or spraying everywhere whatever I don't know that cuz I just found out about it he just told me that he had to get it fixed how much he thinks the price is going to come in we had to do a work order after it was done so I'll be glad to get more information and send it out to everyone but that's the only information I got because I got it as soon as I got back on my trip so we don't know if it's even currently working it everything's up and running it's all it's it's all up and running cuz he already got the bill already I was in there on Tuesday and she didn't I'm like what's going on with and she's didn't say anything no it's all fixed everything's great cuz it had to be done right away okay that's our anything other maintenance I'm sure I do um next leaz on reports I'll do um L laun as long as we're there um I was in there Tuesday everything everything's good now we um tentatively scheduled we looked at our calendar we tentatively scheduled Lakeville day for May 18th of next year because it was opened that's bad luck May 18th why because in March it was better wasn't it the weather was great actually March the weather was perfect this year we did it May 5th Soco de mayo and it was rainy and miserable so we thought the fourth was open so we could do Cinco de Mayo again and the 18th was open so we decided to do the 18th because maybe it would closer to June maybe it would be better than the beginning so we did that and also discussed doing um a concert series every other week or twice a month but we don't want to we're going to have to check with the Arts Council because we don't want to step on their toes they do at Arts Council Tuesday night once a month M and um with newaz and late uh the library too has concerts the library does yeah do they I thought no it's that's what you're talking about that's what behind the Old Town Hall I guess I know when I get the Library they say concert we'll have to look into that I'll go over and ask them um L Pon Lodge would do the bar it would be a week night maybe a Wednesday night um they would do the bar we would bring in the musicians and then we would bring in food trucks so we could have food trucks and music and the bar so that's something to think about where at the stage just curious in the by the flag pole probably yeah that's a good spot and whether it's a stage or whatever piece of grass that's marked off with cones like but um good idea yeah it'll get more people in it's a Wednesday night so you know whatever um how much we charge in per person to be announced it TBD TBD it's hard to charge per person because I'm just giving you a heart I'm just looking for well cuz it was mentioned but then it's like how do you charge people for coming in just getting people here and then the food trucks if they buy stuff we get a percentage or a flat fee from the food trucks we bring in um we can't do a parts box donation CA we cannot do donations you would have to literally sell something okay which I mean I have no problems with selling T-shirts concerts in the park or Park commission um discussion for later um get Amy on board they're not super booked with like weddings and stuff they have Wednesday night Wednesday night yeah so I didn't know thoughts before we go forward looking into this I like it it I ran into um her name is escaping me but the lady who is doing the Snowman s sper when I turned mine in and she was like we really need a Lakeville fun committee and they were talking she was with another woman and they were talking about like how great may day was and or L full day and um getting more stuff like that going for the town so I like it have more than one Lakeville day if it's such a hit oh let's not go crazy because Paula used to do Lakeville day with me and she would help solicit other groups um so Mike has graciously volunteered to take her place this year no I'm just thinking of one of the groups that was right next to us yeah I know what you're thinking about so I'm happy to help okay no go go I'm 100% for any AC there so yeah May 18th put it in your notes and we'll pther and I will work on the concert series but I know what we we get a percentage from the Food Truck Yeah I'm not sure maybe what how it works I don't I don't know they could just pay us just like you do at Mayday here if you give us $100 or $200 to sit here or would be more than that, anyway go ahead would be more than that do what you got to do Melissa do it good all right so that's it um nothing for softball what else do I have nothing for Clear Pond um oh well when we get to ARA projects oh no I've got something for Le as on that includes you jpp oh oh all right all right so as you all know we received the CPC grant for $25,000 to do an engineering plan for John pwn Park unfortunately it was met with some resistance and we did not get it done last year we have 24 months from the date of issuance so 24 months from last November when it was approved at town meeting so we've already used 12 months we have 12 months going forward we've been trying to pick a date with Mark and Jamie and I and we just haven't worked it out so hopefully after the holidays we have that January February but it's very dead that we were hoping to last year get it done but we didn't get our thing till April don't come to us in April cuz April through fall we're like super busy here so hopefully this winter we get it done and we're good to go new said Mark and Jeff Jamie Jamie Jamie sorry well the good news is they hiring a town planner and hopefully soon well yeah because how long does that process take Can you hire someone and them have it done in the 12 months it's just the um engineering engineering plan just like for Cle Park yeah so it's just sign the paper pay them and then we're done until we know next step right so cuz it all started with our last Town planner he did grants he was gung-ho he had a plan like we had a vision a threee a 5e a 10year plan which I've been mentioned that we need to come up with where we see the parks in 3 years where we see it in 5 years where we see it in 10 years so that we know like what to ask for what the goals are going to be how much we need to raise our prices for if we know what we want to see this park become if we want to add more Fields if we want to do whatever it needs to be put in a plan so we have a direction to go that everybody sees the direction we want to go cuz right now we really don't it's just willy-nilly and I feel like if we had had that at Clear pal they would have known yeah they need the trees taken down and they want you know what I mean it would have been we would have had a plan that they would have known about yeah yeah can't turn back the clock can't go back nope okay we good oh leison is everything's cleaned up at C field everything's in the containers everything's put away the one Porta poot is still there Peter no I drove by today why is it still there you're supposed to pick it up one is gone the Washington station and the handicapped one are gone but the other one isn't gone so I don't know why we to charge them $195 for every month that stays I don't know what to tell you um so yeah that's good um so when I came back I looked at the um agenda for the select board and I noticed some things on there that pertained to us so I ran there to see what I could learn one of them was them announcing or possible voting on having a park leaz on a select board from the park leers on so they started a discussion and you not everybody a few people him and H but I think generally they thought maybe it was a good idea so then I jumped up there um can we they they were Heming and hariring about possibly giving a meeting one okay I mean you remember Brian what he said yes Brian said if we only saw them once in two years we need anyway but Lorraine wanteded it rain wanted it and I think uh and that turned down to Leah thinking it was important and now we have whatever so but I I don't think they knew what their purpose was with this so I went up there to tell them why it's important to us that they don't have to come to the meetings all the time that the the parks leaders on select board is more not us giving them information it's them giving us information saying hey the select board is thinking about this maybe you should think about this select board is thinking of doing this about the parks you guys should talk about it put it on your gender and then talk about it so the the liaison is is more of them feeding us information than we feeding her information I know I think it should go both ways but once a month touch space with each other that's fine but what I'm saying is there's an edict out there that 95% of our questions are go to the Town Administrator okay what questions just 10,000 questions that will I think the questions will minimize itself once we talk to the park layers on because the questions are are when I see an agenda why is this on there when we don't know about it well we would if you did a a monthly checkin then you would be like you would know well see it could be monthly it could be whatever but but the point is is that we need that connection to someone on the on the select board and obviously um did they vote well yeah I nominated Brennan I said Brena Brena Brena well she had asked when she was here last but she said it was on their agenda hem and hog because she doesn't think that she's going to be around in April maybe she's going to run maybe she'll lose she didn't seem too positive about doing it but then they reminded her that that you know she could hold it till April and then we can get another one depending who's on the select board well is she under the impression that she has to come to every meting no no no no no because I had brought that up and that's the reason I was there I said no no you don't have to attend meetings you're you're a sounding board for us well we can ask you questions you can ask us questions but the most important thing is that if you're in a when you're meeting with the selectman and you hear something about the parks let us know about it before we find out about it on the agenda and that's the number one because how many things did we find out on Facebook on Facebook and the thing that precipitated was clear Punk yeah that's the thing that blew up as as well as the parking lot out here so this is a great thing Brena is going to be excellent because she knows how she works we just got to figure out a process how we want to communicate and go forward which we can do that so she is doing it she is going to do it okay but let's go over and January how we want to open this form of communication when we have questions and so forth like that okay um update on status so this was another thing update on status VV charging stations well I didn't know they were going to meet on that so I went there and I actually talked to Andrew beforehand so this isn't going to happen right away but um so the idea when Ari was here is that we were going to put two EV stations electric V charging stations over by by Lon Pond right in those two spots um and then it was kind of dropped so then I I talked again to make sure he knew the background and and he did but um the other thing is that they want to put two a town hall and two here which is it's totally ridiculous to me um because the way these EV Chargers work I don't know if anyone has electric vehicles but I've been spending a lot of time at the Tesla plant Panasonic plant every 6 months out out in California and ask these guys a lot of questions and a friend of mine has it so if you're looking for a charging station you just punch it in I'm looking for a charging station near me on your car on the screen it'll pop up where all the charging stations are okay so it'll give you an idea I got 20 miles to make it because some people whatever so um so people will go primar to the closest one but if it's not a supercharger they won't go there because then they're going to have to wait 45 minutes it depends on a car okay if it is a supercharger then generally they're going to come now majority of the people who are going to be using these EV are not going to be Lakeville people unless they know it's here or majority of the people who I know have their own Chargers in their garage but we're going to get a lot of people off 140 off 495 unless there's some closer okay so um I personally didn't like it over there there I think if we're going to put it anywhere you should go in the police station cuz that's open 24 hours put it right out here and you you have the ability of turning them off and on so if you don't want them at a certain time then you can do that and you know Tesla has the market on it and they have these rivan and some of them don't have the output for the rivan so there's a lot to work out so I guess he's setting up an appointment with Middleboro gas and uh Janney Janney is the company that's going to be owning them they're not going to make any money on them for three years and after that they're going to make the money understand that we don't get a penny for having them there parks is not getting a penny for using that facility that's something down the road we'll talk so at the next meeting I will get all the information or it could be February they don't seem to be in too much of a rush but I will let you know when that happens so that was just an update um it's coming and we're it's coming but we don't but no no no no no nothing's been voted that it's coming nothing's voted where it's going to all of that it's my biggest question is whose liability is it because if it's on Park property it was they were taking all the responsibility they would taking all the if there was any who's they it was MG and E La last time when it was coming in the spring it was mg& and it was a perpetuity agreement like we couldn't go back and ask for money later on it was no money for the parks all going to them it was grants did they lose the grants is that what I understood well the grants are expiring I think but but but then the company who's going to purchase them from mg& is company called Janney Corporation what they have a lot but it's moot talking about it because it's not up to forer to talk about yet yeah I mean if Lakeville or the park if nobody's benefiting from it in any way why are we the community would benefit cuz it would have the charging stations like they could come and play tennis while they're car charged or go for a walk while they're car charged or or we could get a lot of cars waiting from people who driving by in the highway well yeah so unless there's a closer one I understood that um I for two which meant four so it was two stations with a charger on each side so four stations and um the latest is that they want to go down to one so it would be two here and two in town hall where's the original placements I don't know we'll find out more we'll find out when they go in okay update on we already talked about engineering plan I had sent you information on the Broadband did you read it so that makes more sense we don't have to dig well it was already dug so but it was yeah much cheaper much cheaper and how I'm sorry how are they were doing it on the poles right yeah yeah which but they weren't do it on the poles before they were weren't going to do it on the poles cuz it was cheaper cuz the hole was already dug and now they went back to the poles because it wasn't going to be cheaper cuz it was already dug well they didn't they didn't give us the price to dig it from the road to the building that's where the money was going to cost that hole isn't dug from where it is to the building that's where they were going to have to dig but the water's going in right there but they you can't use the same hole for the water on the road yeah so anyway it's saving money uh commissioner field done security cameras it went from 45 $50,000 down to $45,000 and now it's $115,000 so it's saving quite a bit of money to go on the polls it's good news yep um commissioner field nothing security cameras we discussed did you want to add something to it I have a question on security cameras sure so this is is our the CC Technologies paper yeah hold on let me get what I have you can talk it says um camera one will be focused on the skate park camera two will be focused on the basketball court and camera three will be focused on the volleyball court yep that just seems like a lot of cameras all going towards the same area right cuz it's the skate park the basketball courts and the volleyball cours we need three cameras one for each because the next one camera four it's the high powerered camera with 360 it says it's going to be on the tennis courts and it'll have the ability to rotate and view any of the fields property 360 diameter to the camera locations because we have problems at The Snack Shack on the fields we had that big hole dug in the fields and we have the um driver who took out our soccer fence right so it just seems that where we have the most issues and the playground isn't covered so it seems where we have the most issues so far isn't covered so here it is this is the ground is covered I'm just so you're right so there's cameras up here on the on the pole on the closest maintenance Pole to the so so what happens this let me explain to you is that uh there's going to be a TR dug towards the end at the end of this to the poll where community communication system is going to be set up here and then there's going to be a camera on top so this this is it's a straight line camera because we were obviously concerned about the skate park because we were putting more money on there all this stuff going on here and stuff going on here now this one is a whole different animal okay this one uh two things one three things one it can go 360 it can be remote controlled from your phone and it can be put like a water sprinkler I want it to go here I want it to go here I want it to go here but how far does it reach because it's not going on that pole if I'm reading this correctly it's going over on the tennis court no no no it's going on the top of this building this this reach can go to the pickle ball court it's focused on the tennis court what I'm saying is is that you can drop a quarter on the tennis court and you can see if it's heads or tails so that's going to reach the playground this is going to reach this can all those fields this can reach down here okay okay can reach anywhere but if we're concerned at a certain time of day we can punch in our phone let's just concentrate in here because there's a lot of people the playground's buy and then you can change it to go all the way around if you want but here's the issue this camera here they have a camera up here it's not as good but that covers pretty much around here okay the problem with this camera is is that um it can record but when you record it you can't zoom in on the recording so it's kind of like kind of useless unless it's close with this one we record something happens we can go even on our phone or whatever and zoom in and see everything color hair you have everything and it's infrared so you can see everything at night so there's no blind spots no dark spots so what we're also going to do when they come and Carrie and I were going to look and office of Mal says we should do this is that um we're going to have extra money so we can even put one on if we want to put one on Lon Pon Lodge if we want to put another one cover anywhere else we can but this is this is good this is really good um is this only like livetime or it backs up to some type of cloud it goes into a cloud but but we have a machine in the maintenance set that we put in okay so that if like I said we can we can look on our phone yeah tap into whever we want okay it's good or if you know whoever's controlling it we'll say let's just keep it on this side can so we can we can rotate it we can do whatever we want with it right but like if something happened down there and we need to get on the Poli the police on it they can go back 4 days and look at it or whatever go back from the from the day it it was on yeah and pick the time only what it's looking at so it says even the 360 camera it says it's going to be focused on the tennis courts but also have the ability to rotate so it's not going to see all of that all the time that's not what this says no it says it has the ability to move and see it but it won't see it all the time if put it this way nothing can see 360 all the time the camera is meant to go around that's why you get multiple cameras well put it this way that camera doesn't need to go 360 because we have cameras on this side already right we only need to focus over towards the tennis courts the playground baseball fields we don't have to focus on the T on the basketball court or skate park or anything because there's already cameras over there okay but the tennis courts and the baseball fields are like two different directions right so could we take our extra money and increase the one on the police station so it like sees out or buy another one to the soccer fields and what our our deer is going to be is we're going to put another one on the other side of the maintenance building so that can cover that soccer field and the baseball Field's over on the back of the maintenance building back so our Maintenance building our Maintenance building will have two cameras on it one covering all the way around I mean 360 it can go anywhere but if we just program it to go from tennis courts playground to here does it move like is it is it continuously doing 360 to we can move we would have to move it we have so then it's pointless so how come they didn't add that second camera in this quote because we only had put it this way I have to say it over this so it has to time out s question so when we did the original quote we got uh this quote here when we got the estimate it was $21,000 okay they weren't going to give me it was $221,000 and that was just with these cameras okay so they gave me $24,000 r and that was it Well turns out that the company who gave us the quote for 21,000 bid 14,000 so now we have extra money I I don't want to talk about it yeah but but but like I said this thing this camera can go 360 it doesn't need to go 360 because we have other cameras on the but you have blind spots still that's what everyone's saying no there there if you move the camera but that you can't there's a blind spot there's a blind spot there will always be a blind spot in the feed where where where's the blind spot we can't be looking at the tennis court and the baseball fields at the same time it has it can move it has the ability to see everything but not at the same time it has put put it this way it's like your sprinkler I don't know if you have sprinklers we can only make it go this way and this way it moves okay so it doesn't it it doesn't move three it doesn't have to it can move like this it has a big that on its own we can program it however we want it to program we can say just do the just do the tennis court in the playground or or or whatever you want to do remember if it moves like this it doesn't have to move 360 because we don't need it but it can move from the tennis court to the playground to the baseball fields and come back within a 5 Second than so you're saying it's going to be constantly on rotation always constantly going like this always moving all right that wasn't clear before yeah no it wasn't yeah no so it's always moving but we can move it if you think hey what the heck's going on at the baseball but even still there'll be a blind spot but for like 5 Seconds you would have to do it but not necessarily if you want to put another one up I I feel like if you're quoting it all out and and the one fancy camera is so much is it just cheaper to put regular cameras in multiple spots and just get everything no that's not the way that's not the way the communication system set up remember we're at Ted Williams we don't have a big communication system down there this is all built new mhm okay so oh so you're saying it wouldn't have power in all these places it it yeah we only have electric so many places okay and then the problem was they would need another receiver and then you know if if if the cameras are put in the same location we can use one receiver if you put a camera we on there then we got to set up another receiver which you don't want to do but it's just here we've had nothing now we're going to something very good in fact so so there's no cloud storage feet on here like is it a onetime thing and then like well this is usually like monthly fees this is what um you and I need to talk to the vendor about okay cuz all I I use offic in males and he's very good he explains stuff but he did have a few questions but uh this is what they approved before I talked to the two guys from the North Shore and they said this is quite a system it's kind of overkill for here so no it makes sense but if we're going to have like a monthly fee of I don't know whatever it is that's a lot like we need to know that for every year after right for that but from what I understand stand it's kind of like if we put cameras at uh Clear Pond he said we can run it through their system so we wouldn't have to pay the pay that fee so I will find out okay I will find out and you know what if it costs 500 a year we have the money for it and we just use it you understand well before it was $60 per camera per month or something like that you were using the other one so it was pretty expensive can you this was bid on so can you add another camera to this yes y it's it was an RF well first off we only got one bit out of the three okay nobody was interested so being that this money has already been appropriated for arpa if we want to add anything to it because we think it's not enough we can use that arpa money without bidding it out just like what we did with commissioner field or anywhere else and how much was extra you said what you said you have have more money to do more stuff 10 grand about about 10 grand yeah but you didn't did you have any idea how much that extra camera is going to cost not 10 grand well the guy would let us know I mean uh off of MTI thought about 800 bucks all right so you'll check on that and you'll check on the monthly fee I'll do all of that well thank you Carrie's going to do car's gonna sure I'm going to work with Carrie but then she's going to take it over I wonder if just to put it out there when we see what the cloud fees and stuff is going to be would it just be cheaper to yes we don't have the electricity everywhere and the routers and stuff like that but when it's all broken down maybe that way would be cheaper to just put electricity and get the stationary cameras rather than why would you stationary cameras or you know what I mean no but why would why would we want to put more cameras everywhere when we can just put up two cameras on a building well because she doesn't want the blind spots but now that you're telling us that it's going to be able to start here and sweep this way and then go and you can hand do it yourself by but the hand doing it ourselves is I think what's making us all a little nervous so but if you're telling me that automatically we can program it to go like this and then back it can go 90° it can go 40° you can do it whenever and we can change it anytime we want uh let's do it this way so you can move it but it's you can program it to move how we want it to move but moving it and having it on a constant sweep are two very different things I realize that okay and that's what we're we're not getting the clarification that no what I'm saying is but now he's saying like you could have your sweep be 40° or you can change it to be we can change it 360 180 70 60 we can do whatever we want play with it when we got it and what was the um what's the timeline for you to spend that that's money Federal no regular so it can go to 26 so if we got this one in and then we play with it for 6 months and then say get we need the other one and then the guy will come back and do it okay um old business you want to see you say what time it is yeah you've been talking all night no new business Peter discuss upcoming meeting dates we had a talk about this today tell us what we were thinking and well it seems as if uh I can't talk the second and fourth Thursdays were working so I tentatively booked those in January at the COA if that's agreeable with everyone so that would be January 9th and January 23d we're going to two meetings a month but no well we normally do we normally have two meetings a month it's just that November and December where they have holidays and we really it's our downtime it's our first so we went to one gotcha so but the question is obviously February if everyone if we can get everything done in January we'll do one meeting if you don't think we can then we'll do two meetings so it's up to us if we want to do two meetings or we just want to stick was one if we were going to do one meeting I would do the what's the dates January 9th and 23 we'd have to do the nth so I selfishly I mean I can say no to them but I was going to join the Boosters club at the high school and they do the fourth Thursday of the month that's tough you're a Parks commissioner now what's that you're a Parks commissioner now okay um what time did they meet uh I think tonight it was at 6 so I could have gone for like half an hour and then come here but I didn't yeah or you can go there for an hour like how long are their meetings never to one hopefully I mean Mike's not on it so could little Shor hard all the time not many I'm just kidding um dare I say that because it seems like every other thing we talked about we said oh we'll do that in January January and we have to give this man his answer in January that we add maybe I mean I don't know what everybody does for New Years but it would be the 2 or the 16th if we added an extra meeting you're talking three meetings I am no that's a lot we don't need three meetings if we do it the 9th and the whatever that's way too much way way too much I think if you do like the nth and we don't get through a lot of stuff add an extra one you know what I mean I do kind of meet in the in the middle instead of just putting it on let's just plan on the ninth and though see how the KN goes okay what was the second one sorry the 23rd do not schedule anything anywhere okay and what was they're here except for the council and agent for the 9th and also I've got it booked for the 23rd so if we decide we want to do that we've got it can everybody come at 6 instead of 7 mhm let's move as the meeting till 6 what about Scott Scott's out by 5:30 we're going to lose him in February March and April anyway so let's anyone good with six I just think it's we get stuck always wondered why it's so late well I just think that I think these meetings are going to get longer with all these things going on four hours instead of three so are we good at 6 6 is fine okay and we'll let's start now well we'll have to check with the council aging but I'm sure and the lake cam I know you don't care about Lake cam Lake cam you good for six ask probably 6 p.m. Council on Aging January 9th and 23rd what was February thanks for not giving me an answer problem we haven't gone we haven't gone there yet again if uh if we continue it would be the second and or the second third fourth Thursdays whatever they are J said it's fine I can't believe he's the only one watching more people watch our meeting than you think watch our meeting is it live it is live on Facebook and they see it afterwards so it's both well then how come I don't see any likes or any comments if they watch it they do I had somebody at the library go Carrie and I was like who are you yeah can you tell how many views we get right now one sec oh my gosh Jose I think I think I left my TV on he's going to need a tving it um yes Zach watching 174 what 174 people are watching right now it's the same person clicking one person okay hey one person know who it is right that's him that's Jose Jose yeah okay um I vot to a journ at 10:00 on whatever a date is the 5th of let's get out of here December all in favor who second that nobody I who skipped all in favor I all opposed I I I I we got all four eyes
