um I'm actually not 100% sure what I'm here for okay I think it's because we had a sale uhhuh that was supposed to go through okay our buyer breached like legit breached the day prior to the closing the abcc had already at the state level put the application in there name but it never was brought through to the city level okay so we had been advised by the abcc that as long as we kept it at our name it was just a matter of notifying them through paperwork okay um but I guess um when I talked with Antonio today it sounds like they wanted me to be here this evening with you so I guess verify that yeah so you're keeping your license and you're keeping your business yes okay as a weon he wine spirit they going to they going to keep the license as it is okay and then the the other business was withdrawn because they didn't move forward with the deal okay oh the other the other applicant ker or whoever it was yeah yeah they okay they breached so okay commissioner Le so you're keeping the business so nothing has to be changed except that you're keeping the business right yeah actually there really is no change because it never made it to the lla okay so everything's status quo actually okay now the other person doesn't want the business right um I don't know what his reasoning was but yes he he pulled out of the deal okay all right thank you abcc told me that if we approve them today I have to return their license back to them because they renew their license okay okay I understand understand okay will I be getting I know I have to come and get my paper is that it yeah great okay um thank you officer Cano good I think I understand yeah so you're not the previous owner I am the only owner I built the store but you weren't there beforehand right nothing was there before there it beforehand it was new construction well there was a business at that location before it was a wine and spirits was that's me I I met you in your spouse right it's been a while and it was closed all of a sudden so I guess because so um when we decided to sell the person who put in the offer that we agreed to didn't want the inventory they wanted to acquire it without inventory and so we needed to facilitate that and we weren't going to stay open without inventory okay so at this point you're going to so she stays with the license but she's not going to be at the location no no the location will stay it's not changing until you find someone that can take over or we reopen well it was nice to see you uh then and hopefully things work out somehow I have to tell you the community is great I'm really really disappointed and heartbroken that we were in the position that we needed to um sell the business um but for whatever it's worth my experiences here in Lawrence have been fantastic with everybody at every level within the community that's cool including the you know the residents so yeah it's an unfortunate circumstance it's a great great Community well not to keep
