a stop sign that many cars were running through without slowing because it was covered up by vegetation and a truck that was parked there I'd like to thank police chief mcy and our public work supervisor Craig Wells for addressing that situation promptly and uh keeping the stop sign visible also I'd like to well the election is not officially supported yet I would like to congratulate Council presidentand Shar Council Council woman Patton on their uh success in the primary election um as far as the Fire Fire Commission fire department goes first of all the next meeting which is a lots of fishing going on lots of people from last year and actually new people also that came out and enjoyed the beautiful day that was out there for our library summer reading program summer reading begins July 9th to August 22nd slog reading SL slogan for is Adventure begins at your library crafts prizes games and Adventures calendar of events and reading packets will be available July 2 as far as community yard sale um emails there's been comments that emails are bouncing back um it checked it it was working fine if in October for the next one if it does not if it bounces back because it's the town email they're saying that there's more wanted and that's why they're bouncing back so if there's issues and it bounced back just call the burrow call the burrow whoever answers to they will then get the information to person that is you know doing the emails I'm doing the the list for all the um emails for who wants to do their yard sale um also I'm the homeless committee for C County um is they're having homeless fair in Bur me get the data and it's from 9 to1 and what they're going to try to do is they're still working on I asked them to come through living wall come to Paco come to New Jersey Transit um where there's a lot of homeless there's homeless that come into the library um Thea guy is going to try and get to all these people and tell them that this is going on this this homeless Fair where they're going to give them haircuts there's people in the community that's going to get them free haircuts uh food showers um they're trying they had them in can in it worked well um I think they did want to be kitchen and this is going to be at the Lutheran chur in Berlin um I'm going to say oh it is June 26th from 91 um I haven't spoke to the the vaa guy yet to see if how there's yeah the um K County was going to send me the F for it so I can at least get it out there um I haven't got it from him yet I just had this meeting last week so um we're contact him tomorrow to try to get the flyer but that's that's a good thing we're trying you know work with our homeless in town and and it's not just for feeding they're going to have vendors there that's going to try to if they need IDs if they need you know help them get jobs whatever if they have warrants get their warrants cleared up it's a lot of vendors that are going to be there to try and help the homeless get back into the community also if they know any homeless directly to the the right the VA gu comes Library twice a week um um not twice a week I think every I think every Wednesday yeah I think it's every Wednesday he comes there go know where they're and go into actually in the woods near where Cheryl and I live they back behind New New Jersey Transit they go in there and try and get them out a lot of them they don't want the help they don't want the help they just you know but they're still out there trying to keep um but that's all that I have um thank you all right I got I'll start out with the code enforcement office and the report monthly report for May we 93 Co inspection 17 smoke inspections 188 118 violations found 171 viations written 83 abatements 70 tickets written 745 yearly brutal inspections 20 yearly reinspection seven foreclosures and 44 resident Communications I'd like to start out first by thanking dwn Craig the chief and the co Enforcement office I reported um several things this month even through president complaints or just things that I saw myself and um they got on them and responded toly and we were able to take care of some issues that were um some foreclosure properties that we were aware of get that boarded up get some uh CS moved out um some sidewalks with overgrown bushes and things taken care of so I really want to thank everybody involved with getting that taken care of um we are going to start working on the surr workshop so we're trying to Little B and jerine I'll be talking to you about that um starting to set up surrogate's uh Workshop they're going to come out into the community and talk about some of the things that the surrogate offers office offers many people think you just go there when you go to probate a will but it's much more than that they have living Health Wills they help you with guardianship information there's several different things that they can help you with including getting your will written for free now they won't be doing will writing that won't be the clinic but they will give you the information on where you can go to get your will written and completed and notorized and on the record for free so we are going to start that and we'll see what kind of um interest we have in the community and that will detail how many of these um surrogate workshops will do they're willing to come out at night um they're willing to come out several times they really want to get the board out to the community about their office um couple of things that I wanted to go over um the Canon County veterans discount um guide they have updated their guides on the discount that are available to Veterans throughout the county so I'm going to leave these here you can feel free to take one after the meeting um if you haven't registered your DD214 or if you have not gotten a cam County veterans ID please visit the cam County clerk's office and city hall or now located in Blackwood to do so it's a good idea to have DD214 some people do it for historical reasons but it's also good um when it's time for your burial or whatever that the DD214 can be located so they can apply your your veterans um burial benefits to that as well so these are up here also do some self- promotion for our office today we have the camman county clerk's office has a property alert system I talked about this before this is where you can go on and register all properties that belong to you in cam County it's an effort to try to derail fraud so anything that gets recorded in our office sometimes people don't know that they they forgot to pay their CC and went to a tax sale right so it alert you and let you know and take care of this before somebody buys a tax sale and you end up with a situation so these have the QR codes on the back of them please feel free to take one of these it's real simple to sign up for it and every time something is recorded in the clerk's office you'll get an alert just to let you know maybe something that you're aware of or something that you're not aware of question time somebody can come and steal your property like that it will so 's trying to do a DED change on your property if someone's trying to follow POA falsely on on your name or your property if like I said if there's a tax sale out there which and I don't know how many of you people know this or not but if you have a tax sale on your property someone can buy it and after two years it can start to forclosed on your property that's state law so you know when you forget to pay your ccmua or you forget to pay your taxes or in some towns where you pay your own water bill and you forget to pay that there are people who are in the business that go around and bu taxes and so you don't want to be in this situation because when you try to buy back your premiums and there's interest rates on those things as well so you want to 18% 18% that's more than the IRS so you want to um grab one of those they out for my history Buffs I have the cam County History Alliance there's some interesting things in here about cam County all the different uh towns and all the old names and I mean I love history so I find it interesting so if anybody is interested in this this will be up here as well I carried all the stuff on the train so I really need you guys to grab the stuff and last um I have the center for families in the food bank of South Jersey has a food pantry called the tip program TI that they have started in conjunction with the one stock in Cherry Hill there's a food pantry there you're offering non perishable food items for family in need it's 101 Crescent R sweet 102 and Cherry Hill there's a phone number please take one of these as well pass it on maybe take it to your place of worship somewhere that you can share it with people if you know a family that's hit hard times right now maybe you want to share that information with them as well so that's there I wanted to um also talk about the Memorial Day program which was very nice um the school did an excellent job I don't want to step on your feet over here Walter the school did actually job in painting the medallions up on the wall and just you know kudos to those kids I got up at what 9:00 in the morning on or their day off to come out and participate in such an important program so I really wanted to say something about that um congratulations to our grads that are graduating this Friday Happy Father's Day to our fathers um dad's still here Paul tell them that you love them this is my first Father's Day that I'm celebrating without my father so keep me in your prayers cuz this has been difficult so um Happy Father's Day to everybody and all men who stand in the gap of a father you know you may not be a biological father might be an uncle a neighbor a brother whatever it is but you know thank you for what you do we appreciate it and happy Jun next week June 19th juneth is for everybody okay so you know happy Jun teth to everyone as part of our history and I hope everybody takes time to reflect on the real meaning of what it means and man yeah Wednesday the 19th yes also it's doing well there's no on it so hopefully school year 2025 in that in that uh September be able start you start up there also Craig is cig promised me that basketball court is going to be done and he said that that'll be done soon they got money for that so that's going to happen um also the blank extension B will go from the park to the football field that area that's going to help alleviate some of the Pary opening thatour school over to par be a lot easier um also uh I want to congratulate our council president chery and with that for receiving your vot officially not certified and I'd like to wish everybody a Father's day and happy Father's Day and all your grandfathers out there Father's Day that's all I um it's at right Monday yeah yeah thank you Mr Mayor I just want to remind the community about the National Health Center week opportunity with the fers on August 7th um for Linda W family please check your EMA you may have received some information yesterday from the school district about it and you can of course contact me if you want more information we do still have a lot of slots left um including for any parents or um neighbors that may want to participate as well I once again thank you councilman lowski and councilman Jackson for allowing me to present this opportunity to the community and I also wanted to thank Community here in clo Community Care C and food pantry Mario party for um inviting us and the free books project especially um thank you Trevor Shaw for um having a hand and making sure that 50 of our students were invited um to the Flyers event on August 7th um and I want to thank the school district for approving a bus this week well approving approving the application to move forward with the bus this week that is really helpful as you know as a struggling parent ourselves you know I I understand how hard it is you know to want to do um really special things for your kids so I really want to um thank everyone that was involved in all of this that's all I have right now thank you coun thank you mayor first congratulations to council president congratulations concert June 28 7.m cover concert open to the public instructed 7M third just want to bring some attention to resolution that we passed tonight U resolution 20416 this resolution it's a great opportunity that we Tak teing up with the county and I'm sorry can everyone hear me teaming up with the county to have a nutrition based program basically seniors of L wall and anywhere in can County to C county has been running this in a few townships including lall pille star to but it's going to be an awesome program for the it's going to be starting off at three times a week they're going to provide meals uh hopefully extending that to five times a week and also you know events and game nights and so forth dances and you everything that come with that so I'm very excited about that thank you mayor and coun for all your help with it guys also we have uh another speaker tonight Jennifer Le from the program she's want to speak to you also another great program for seniors and citizens of C County that's all I I just want to add a little bit more to that the county will be reaching out to all of the seniors in town to let them know about this program um the senior center was supposed to be a senior center to start with it's now going back to be a full-time Senior Center this is to get them all get meals to get programs to get um any kind of help that the county can give to the health department um it is I I would say probably one of the best programs I've seen long side does it and it's 5 days a week and it's packed so I'm very happy to hear that this is coming to lall um it's it took us a little bit of negotiating but it seems to work out very well m b this is what I was kind ofing pass on to you because the county says you've done some programs at their senior C so um we'll be reaching out to them to coordinate any of these programs they're very happy to speak with you I've yeah I've already talked to them about programs and they're very happy to hear um we I'll get few minutes after thee to talk more about um do you want to introduce your the guest speaker oh sure just introduce Jennifer W from the SCS [Music] program thank you so much for having me tonight um my name is j Way I Am the sheriff housing coordinator for senior citizens united Community Services we are a nonprofit um that's located in oton and we provide community services and also some inhome Services for Seniors in Canada County and also we have other programs that um can help adults 21 over um for starters we offer Transportation it is a free service I'm sure you've seen our buses done and Transit um they do ask for a $2 donation only if you're able but they will come and pick seniors up take them to medical appointments and non-medical appointments so somebody has to go grocery shopping things like that they'll come to their home pick them up and they will take them back all of our drivers are trained um to help with hand cap so if there's Wheelchairs and things like that um our buses are equipped um we have a benefits counselor where we can help seniors save money um programs that are out there a lot of people don't know what they are able you know to do and apply for our benefits counselor will sit down help take a look at their budget she will look through different um programs help them apply and you know help people save on their utility bills and things like that um we have a three programs in our housing department um a new program that justed rental assistance program um like I said just started we're still getting some information on that but essentially we're able to help um adults 21 and over um 20% of their rent for up to 2 years um we also have housing counselors um which they help uh adults navigate Road subsidized housing um also work with some landlords to see you know if there's options for them that they can afford and I run shared haet where um not sure if you're familiar with the show voting girls but we essentially match home providers and people looking for homes together through a very extensive application process um this program's been around for about 20 years um due to co it sort of you know took a little bit of a damper but we are back to building it up and I'm here to raise awareness of that program um as we are we know that housing is such a crisis and for seniors It's a Wonderful way to help them either stay in their home if they have you Financial constraint or sometimes they just don't want to live by themselves and we are able to mat with other seniors and other adults um 21 and over if if they apply um to be able to move into their house they would pay the home provider a monthly fee that would give them a bedroom does not have to be furnished but then shared space of the house um it is home sharing not landlord tenant so we do in our contract do have a new synop agreement that gets signed once the process is over um once we meet have two parties meet there is a trial period to make sure that you know they get along and that it can work with their daily lives and then once everybody's into agreement that's when the contract is signed and our contract does run month to month um so nobody's locked in for a long period of time and we had got you know follow up for 6 months or so just to make sure everything's working out um we also have a bunch of inh Home Services um restate care um we have personal care um we do have a nonp perishable food pantry we also have a lending closet where people can get medical supplies um we do have volunteer opportunities so there's a whole bunch of different programs and stuffs that you know we want to give to the community um so I do have some information with me that I can me um but I just wanted to come and share and thank you so much for the opportunity question on the Shar B yes is that just for adults or is that like a mother with children or that would just be like just for an adult another as of right now it's just one to one one adult to one adult due to our funding um one person in the match has to be 60 or over um but it is open to anyone 21 or over um and like I said it's very extensive we run background checks we do medical references personal references I personally interview everyone who comes through the program so I get to personally know them um and we really look on paper to see who would you know fit well together and then bring those um those parties together um you know I I personally have seen it change lives um you know we've helped some people who are homeless find housing we've helped seniors who can't afford to stay in their home be able to stay in their home um for the home providers they can choose their monthly fee right now they're ranging anywhere from 375 a month to 700 a month depending on your need um you know we do talk to the home Seekers about their budget so we're not placing anybody the whole point is to be able to have both parties live and move comfortably you know so it's a positive experience for and there's no income either to apply I [Applause] do um I just have two small things which I would like everybody to keep in your people in South Florida right now that they going to problems down there and secondly I'd like to congratulate theing for on 22 milon the winner congratulations to him I hope he enjo it I just want to announce counil weed receiv a email correspondence dated May 6th from The Villages of Timber Creek Association um we currently uh Service uh Timber Creek uh using uh dumpsters for solid waste collection we received a request on May 6 that we switch from dumpsters to using 96 gallon trash cans uh I had an opportunity to meet with May um our superintendent of Public Works and also our civil engineer on May 24th um our professionals are in the process right now of conducting feasibility study uh to switch out from dumpsters to cans to see if they work on that site um the study should be completed by the next council meeting and Council can make an decision at that time thank you to the public anyone from the public wishing to speak please come to the microphone stage your name and address for the record please do not forget to sign in good evening mayor Kel Ed South departments manager um think back in time maybe several months ago we came out to look at the street that I brought up said it was the most neglected Street in town um I recently got a copy of the streets that are on the list for I notic the sho's not on there um you saw how bad it was yourself um and it it's become a really safety I've almost got those people want to come up the WR way on that street on the wrong side and that house that house there you come off the way P make right down that street face to face head on cision so and I can't blame we're not going to run their car up and down that other side so I was just curious whether it was this nervous site it was forgotten again unfortunately there are other streets that actually that um it's on the list and it is still on the list I will bring it up with just to let you know that don't um just to let you know that Avenue Avenue Avenue Avenue all get [Music] and there you said pong that's the street I live on and the reason why it's getting paid is because the electric be tore [Music] out all right anyone else call sir 95 place here in I'd like to know uh I sent a letter to Chief mcarthy and I was wondering what with Town Fe for the of Lind wall I understand Linda H's coordin with mayor chief police chief Mikey 're the town watch be in in the cars you CH should got back probably about two and 3 months your information down there and put a next to it for and I'll have the chief get back uh second thing is would the more consider stop doing leaves I think it's a very serious issue I think if we stop doing leaves I hear you in your resolution here about tree removal if we stop doing leaves turn turn into molds turn into top soil do all that uh we save the the township a lot of money and then turn into fixing a lot of trees in the town we have a lot of Decay everywhere around town I don't know if you watch FR t with Channel 6 a couple months ago uh he talked about muling mowers and all that type of stuff I can tell you I'm stire land contractor that's the way to go uh there too much stuff PL pleas uh you can decompose all the stuff you can you can make compost you can put it around your plants stop doing leaves make a resolution for say next year let it do let them do it this year stop it for next year and start improving the town with tree tree removal not triming trees and having fallen in the street remove them and start planting trees thank you sir anyone else homeless so my question is do they have transportation to get people from L toin there going to be a bus you didn't sorry I was to say the reason why can that's why said I'm still working with this to have a bus rout to to come into lindall because we're only a short distance from Berlin they were just working in Berlin area with the buses and I asked to right what else are they I mean I out to the on Sund and there is a lot back there and I know the last time that you said just stop feeding them which I don't think is good cuz a lot of them are not ATS a lot of them just fell in hard time and so what are they doing like what are we doing to help that I meanin is just going to talk to people so why can't they just go there you see what I'm saying like why can't they just do something from Lakeland wherever you're at just from here and help why they have to go all the way out to that's what I'm telling nobody goes on a weekly basis that that's just the Slate that they chose because the Lutheran Church where they're going to be able to cook the they did at the Cathedral kitchen where they're able able to cook the food and have the stuff ready right there where what I'm to say is why don't they do this when a weekly basis why is it just going to be once well it's just I don't know it's I think they're doing it four times a year the count is I every week I 100 trying to get awareness to these um to the homeless that this stuff is available and that they can it's not it's not can I just add something to that the vaa is always at the train station always they're out here taking intake trying to get intake information to get them placed and to get their needs met they're always there we get off the train or out there with the clipboard if you call is it the 211 211 help number they'll send someone out if you see someone in a wheelchair or something out there they'll send a dispatcher out there so they're always there every day trying to help those people into some kind of program housing whatever it is that they need so they they are it's Bo to on the ground at the Speed Line yeah I recommendation and the reason why they say please Don't Feed is because they won't take they won't take advantage thing that are there to help them yeah if you can them everything there's no reason for them to go and get a job or to go and get help or to go get housing these things are available to these people and if they're going to keep getting stuff they won't go get it that's what we want them to do I used to buy people lunches all the time I McDonald's waah I stop because it's not the right thing to do the right thing to do is to get them in the programs that they need to help them the problem is getting into the program I got people the houses and I fish the house for they get in I deal a lot of recovery houses a lot of them don't have insurance so nobody will take you with that so my whole thing is we have all these empty buildings why can't L them all do something to make it like they're doing it in inil and it gets place to go and they're building building and building and they can walk in there anytime they want they have access to walk in we took one of these [Music] buildings that do all that you want L to buy a build and then our residents are going to be responsible for paying that Bild who's going to pay the electric when you put them in there that's why probably every that's um I have a couple issues um I missed earlier regarding the um about REM will those take place i' read lar takee you to replace that's um the second thing is um I'm very passionate um about our community about Health and Welfare our community especially I don't want to run off the stats again like I always do but communities impact People's Health and Community should be um utilized to make sure that all the V that healthy and um thank you information about thect and work with sen um I my intention is to work all of the community so my question is is that Community Center Senior completely seni and what is the age2 have to check the count running so count will be running C days Days right now it's but they are they are Contracting and those are during the day hour so night hour that Avail toi once they closes it's they running the whole operation we have a place designated for Community Center for other second question um we're turning we turn 95 what are we do the5 no am not right 1929 95 years is an accomplishment Well the lady is old and she needs a little polishing wouldn't be nice to Cate unfortunately did you see what Happ town sorry I saw that there was an incident that happened I don't know what exactly happened I don't know the circumstances behind that um I don't want to UMR wall in a NE We There was 500 so we've had so because of that we're still doing our concerts we're still doing movies in the park day was can this year any we'll take it up next year next to for the year I hope I don't count my days I have learned not to do it's a warm fuzzy feeling you as a taxpayer I got to tell you think abely [Music] amaz con can't hear one of the things that I mean it's the background talk could hear you um one of the things that um that I running out of time I'm sorry are my time almost up okay hold on AE um I just wanted to make sure that um just to let everybody know I encourage people to come out to the B meetings we have over 21,000 residents in Lind wall and I really feel like this room should be packed um as a b Council what are we doing to um expand and encourage people through social media platforms to come up to meetings are advertised I me I tell people when I meet them all the time and come out to our meeting I encourage them all the time but people are working I understand it people have are working families they have children and things like that but every time I meet someone from lall and I meet a lot of people in my office from lall I always encourage them to come out to the they should change the time so people can get here thank we have meetings at 7:00 before Diana nobody was here so I don't think the time has anything to do with it at 7:00 anybody I just waiting here that um I Got Dat for home a cop which is June June 17th [Music] at next Monday 5one go my name is joea 25 George Lind World New Jersey uh we had the chief of police at one of our meetings and he said he was going to pass something or he had to do something to the Town Council to get passed called something 39 so he can come into our development and give tickets or or if someone said like illegally park there or something like that they we can call them right away anyway and they'll come in and they give tickets or or Warnings things like that was anything like that passed tonight it was not Jo um my understanding in discussions with the chief was that my understanding in discussion with the chief after he had that meeting with the board with the association was there were certain things that he wanted uh taking care of on the property I think it had something to do with the size of some of your signs and I don't know if anything has been changed or different since that this was a couple weeks ago yeah no no you say got get get this thing something 39 it's it's title 39 it's the motor vehicle code which we could pass an ordinance to put that on your property if you're willing to but the chief wanted to beet the board first he did do so all right but there were certain things he wanted done with the property that was assuming the association was going to follow with the chief well he said he said I'm sorry he said he can't do anything with the property until it gets pass okay so he can't come in and give us any advice on correct yes on speed or trees in way answer your question nothing was passed on that time the Tes and and say I I wanted the people wanted to do that did he did he pass anything wa anything else we didn't pass anything Joe nothing's been written up did the chief come to and say as I said a couple minutes ago the chief went to the board he was requesting certain things on the board and I don't know what the followup was was with that before you can get title 39 your property has to be in a certain order if it's not in that order we can't tile 39 so it's he's got to be got to before [Music] we your your comp has to be in compliance with the tile 39 yeah yeah I'm sorry none of us won that ticket here anyone else Avenue um I want to thank you for the recent activity at my least favorite house in the neighborhood um hopefully more is going to come out of the situation right now still dealing with all hours of the night paring dog situation as soon as I call the dog gets quiet it's like they know I want the phone call I don't understand it whenever the officers come out it's always quiet but I do appreciate everybody's effort and I want to let you know I know anyone which way we're put on real [Music] run I sat and watched one on road for about 5 minutes and everybody that noticed it slowed down clear complaining thank you appreciate that also want to thank County I started to say invol Senior Center Program going sounds great and again hope we hope it leads to a lot more um Echo what Miss berer said and what the gentleman just asked about and of course we know the community center never really was a community center just sign there but regardless there's clearly a need for activities in this town outside of the school district um for a lot of different ages lower than senior citizens higher than toddlers um maybe the library could be a decent fill in for that we start have posting game nights activities or something U as I say outside the school district but yet maybe at the library basement or first floor use a whole lot we could do something like that uh and then I just want to ask Walter about the trail at high school or behind School Park you have a sense of timing on that basketball be soon right PR know I still thank you guys appreciate it don't forget to get some of this stuff up here thank you
