evening everybody we're going to begin with our Police Department promotions I'm going to hand it over to Chief hington and commissioner horn thank you may sum2 offy so if I offic here e the will congratulations and now switch gears from officers who were just starting to an officer who's been with the police department since 2001 Lieutenant Jeff came to us in 2001 he attended the Burling County Police Academy in 2001 in 2009 he was promoted to the rank I'm sorry 2011 rank 2019ed toen January of last year switch homes from a street Lieutenant to operations depart welled also I'm sure Jeff will do this correctly as a member of the military unit States e all right congratulations to captain Lee and our new class two officers um we'll proceed with regular meetings everybody's certainly welcome to stay but you know you are certainly welcome to leave as well if if you choose all right we will begin with our engineering report Ed if you want to start please sure I'm a little bit offended thought everyone was here for me all right good evening everyone um starting project really no update at this meeting we got the good news that I um reported on at the last meeting uh that we got back from so we're moving forward with the the final steps on that to get our documentation over to do to keep the perit process moving towards issuance so that's good no update on Shelter Island uh once again that's being done in parallel with our Citywide permit um in conjunction with the stock Coastal Research Center the Washington Avenue streetcap project we had a really good steering committee meeting yesterday I think um we presented uh more or less the uh final layout um and some of the details of the streetcap project had some really good dialogue you got some really good feedback um that will result in some you know tweaks to the uh to the plans which I think we going to make for a better project and as I um described at the meeting yesterday we do have a deadline of June 11th to award Construction contract that we are on schedule for so um there'll be a lot more to come on this just from public standpoint once we get the plans up the dot I know we intend on putting together some color drawings just to make it a little easier to follow the average person and then presenting something at one of these meetings and then potentially an informational meeting just to kind of get the word out and show the public to do in that really exciting project um item D is our Amhurst Avenue resiliency project which is our Pump Station project um we're working on our D Greenacres divers appli unfortunately will'll take a little bit of time um had a meeting with the tax assessor this week um just to go over some of the documentation that's needed from his office as part of this process so we'll keep posted on that and I've been working with Mr Rella to make sure that them is kept up to date on where we are with this project just from a timeline standpoint uh next two items are projects at sigm complex walkway and restroom building which are both being re advertised for bids I guess that would be Saturday on the 18th um so we will put that back out the bid and hopefully receive some repetitive bids for consideration next two projects Winchester Avenue and for Road program are in the design phase flipping the page we're making some really good progress on our Le service sign project phase one updating some documents with the uh the ibank and really moving that project towards uh advertisement for bids so once we get closer we can talk a little more about what part of it includes what that project will look like once it goes to construction likewise on the Public Works project our Public Work new Public Works building project that's in the design phase we're working towards our construction documents and getting that project ready for B the vendor Avenue parking lot project at the gas station site is in design as far as the site design for the parking lot um we are incorporating some green space as discussed as part of that project along ventner Avenue um once we get a little further along we can share uh what that looks like that's advancing the Atlantic Avenue bike Lan project also is um advancing towards F the Atlantic Avenue roadway project from Huntington Avenue to Manfield Avenue the field survey Works been completed so we're now in the engineering design phase for that project which is um within the same area as the bike lane painting project so we'll kind of do that in a two-step process we'll paint the bike lanes that are not part of this the uh the bike Lanes Within These project limits from hunting to the once the road PA no no update on item end it's just our ongoing coordination with DP from a storm water mapping standpoint we kind of have gone a couple rounds with them on what they're looking for just to keep us in compliance uh no update on our grants or miscellaneous you can see on our open maintenance fonds we' reup that list for 2025 we do have a couple projects uh where the maintenance spond period is ending those project and if there's any issues we'll reach out to the contractor and get those repairs made and we'll do that throughout the year we have a list of our projects and close out that list is getting a little smaller which is good and then flipping over to page three of the report our 23 Road program we are adding some work to that um particular project on or for so we finished our survey work we're just putting together the plans to um send those over to the contractor to add that to the project the project is substantially complete so that'll move into the punch list phase close that project out basketball court project is is for the Spring thow Avenue um is in progress and we are also adding work that project for Freemont Avenue Fon Avenue so we're pulling the plans together for that additional work Winchester Avenue and Benson Avenue water main reconfiguration is almost done uh it's just one item that we're working with the contractor on we're working with the contractor on schedu for that work I know he had a meeting with the contractor to loc the wall that's been completed the and then the last two projects on the list are our next phase of the Cur gutter program and also the next pH bu ROV great thank you Ed we now move to our department head reports Chief Adams would you like to begin thank you mayor first off uh congratulations to Lieutenant Lee uh on his promotion today it's well deserved it's a great day for the police department uh a new adventure coming forward with class twos and we look forward to working together harmoniously between the fire department and police department um just really excited about the regular meeting and doing the life saving Awards and it's going to be a good moment um just a couple things on the city Side of business um the C training information is out there for all of our employees and just be prepared they are going to be doing some fishing exercises over the next couple of weeks so they are going to be trying to get us to Line and Sinker into an email or something that nature so play close attention to what you're looking at so and that's about it that's all I have thank you thank you chief chief Hinson thank you mayor just to Echo the the comments of Dan like it's great to see you know the class Twos for the summer in fact it goes hand inand with a lot of preparations were being made over the winter for the summer of 2025 I'm sure it'll be here before any of us realize it but we are planning for it and we've been planning for it since the end of summer 2024 which is nice to see second I'd like to uh say what a great day yesterday was with mayor for a day when have beer Burman come over to the police department and visit all of our our departments yesterday it was a great event to see see the kids come over enjoy themselves see what it's like in the city for the day so it was really really a nice event I hope we can do it again thank you great thank you Chief rogery come great thank you Roger Pama good evening mayor Commissioners and congratulations um business as usual in the building department um our team is working to update our forms and our website to try to make things as user friendly as possible for the public um when it comes to applying for permits and the entire proc um additionally we are continually trying to communicate to the contractors the importance of keeping their job sites safe uh not only just for our like to address uh St is want talk myc Avenue I did um we uh we met to talk about the construction containment ordinance uh that we have been uh that's right now a um not an ordinance resolution resolution and uh we did come up with a a good plan and I think it was needed uh because we it was a good meeting we learned a lot about how the construction outfit works and how the police work and how things were enforced so U what we have going is uh p p is giving out uh information about how to contain the u u the uh Plastics and the fiberglass and stuff that's going into the environment so we should be able to contain it and I think it is we came up with enforceable plan and at this time we would like to see this go from a resolution to a nance I gave you you have the information so
