##VIDEO ID:1ZeyHZzzdDg## e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e all right guys we're gonna start weon get I'm going to call the meeting to order it is 5:41 so we'll start off real quick with the role so I think there's only two of us missing but we'll go down so George Al rol Blancos is here Jose yes sir J Medina man here Romy is not here Andre caros is present there and then jel Gonzalez not here all right cool so that means we've got cor oh yeah isone do minutes good good question you volunteer you just got to take minutes on the things we're voting on right see what it is if you want I can send you a template it Mak it easier yeah um but really it's rooll call um the time that the meeting starts tournament and then you don't have to go through everybody's comments it's really just um the motion and what the any names okay so 541 we started and two minutes all right cool so orders of business deferrals additions deletions Ione have anything pressing that's not currently here that we need to add on you good to go give it a minute all right cool good to go we'll move on to public comments we've got one member of the public here with us wait R you have anything to to say anything passing on your mind uh no really all right cool welcome to have you just didn't join in the EDC so he's just doing his uh getting his check box of going to a meeting and then from there we'll hopefully see you in more future meetings all right cool so move on to the approval of minutes do we have the regular meeting minutes from November I know that was a good thing do we get them no we will not that's fine but I will mention next meeting guys are not going be able to have your meeting if I don't have those minute okay I don't know who's gonna do we do we have the video that should be on cool yeah you just I thank we good there move on to the budget all right so the budget reviews we've got the budget for the new year the big thing that we're trying to do is cancel local Intel and I was kind enough to attach the local Intel contract to um our agenda package here so you can scroll through and actually kind of see exactly what it says and I already saw that the terms there it's 60 days prior like we said right and then it looks like it used in June right is what it said or July said it right there in the front it was July 2 July 2 yeah so that's pretty much what we thought so I think we need to have it known by so 60 days before July would be what exactly May so we got a little no basically before May it's start April yeah we're pretty much all in agreement no later than 60 days prior to okay so I mean somebody want to put that up for motion real quick local inel I think we've talked about this extensively enough in the past I will put it up for motion all right cancel so all in favor all right cool so there we go do you have I'm gonna slow you guys down because I know she's taking she's the second all right cool so we'll do that and that should open us up a lot more in our budget um how much is it again exactly we this year did we ever figure that out out if it's kind of like fated a little bit throughout the year or something remember how we were am my understanding is that some of it comes from it it separates into two FAL years okay so I don't know what's already been fixed for this year okay yeah if you can do that for us just so we can know now that once it's going to be over and stuff we can know how much we have to play with to actually you know put into use cuz right now it's all coming out of the marketing miscellaneous expenses right that's where it comes out of okay I'll look at it I honestly don't I'm pretty sure though right any anyone confirm on that I'm pretty sure I can look up previous okay all right cool and then we'll double check on that because if that's so that gives us a lot to work with it gives us more than $10,000 to really put into marketing or plans and I'll kind of go into some other things that I popped up something that Andrea sent me earlier in the month as well that like sort of things that we can do but as a reminder yeah um anything so if you guys were to like if you're creating a new line item you guys do have to go to console if it's an existing just make sure that if it's over 700 give yourselves time because you have to go to council for get it approve gotcha you're think for a new line item if it's something completely new marketing expenses that would be the point it would be that marketing moving L if you are moving amounts over 700 you do have to go to council any okay so just give yourself time to go to council get it approved and then so you have the fun all right gotta got I think we have the puns anyways right now like you said with the whole find that Chang since November that was on November but no this is this is for now starting the new fiscal year so I think for now we're okay the only thing that we should have upcoming soon is going to be a minus 500 because of the upcoming Goos event that'll be like the first yeah tomorrow that'll be the first like m of the year um all right cool so we're good on that so the total budget is 19,000 yes I believe so you guys were originally given yep but right now you have 10,341 8,000 has been spent yeah so I think that 8,000 belongs to the int okay okay yeah let us know I'm pretty sure that comes out of the 12K shows um on the next page 7500 is local and cell already and then the chamers here find payment do before [Music] cancellation yeah it's in July like five six months I think we pay for a year yeah guys inst like three installments okay so yeah I see the 8,600 minus is for the membership for the greater Min chamber and local I'm Prett sure the isn't right then it's not in the correct line items then right because that minus 1,78 should be part of that chamber miscellaneous expenses that's usually where that comes out of and then the other 7500 come out of marke it's allocate right they just haven't allocated to the right budget yeah what are you saying is the correct I'm so what I'm saying is that the the first one that the charge for $1,178 33 goes attributed to Miami Lakes chamber miscellaneous expenses I'm sorry not ml chamber Excuse Me Greater Miami chamber I forgot that that's lab Greater Miami yeah yeah that's it's supposed to be yeah L it's just on a separate one now under Miss expenses miscellanous expenses like the one that we have and you're saying it normally it normally goes yeah cuz that ml it's not it's not actually the Minx chamber yeah I misspoke I misspoke no but that's how it is that's how it is yeah it's very confusing it's very confusing but that's just supposed to be chamber miscellaneous expenses not just Miami Lakes it's supposed to be chally it's come out of that historically it's come out of that one yeah and then the local Intel would come out of this one yeah you know something I think I think they just took it in miscellaneous as a holding thing and it's not alligated to anything yeah right but when yeah we're just saying like for the record I guess if it helps can I can I talk go for it when you look at it accounting wise it looks like it's all one account and you know it's just you know you look at the first five six digits is they're the same down and then when you look at 54900 is the same so I guess it's all one and the same the fact that they just identify it based on budget category just for that just for identification but as you spend it the accounting department probably puts it in just boom and it's technically the same yeah the total amount is definitely correct it's just where it was allocated from that gotcha that's it just wanted to make that clear it is one we're good for the year [Music] then maybe the 10 already Pap for previous year yeah because it it gets broken up into two fiscal years but I'll I'll just check yeah I'll yeah we on that yeah we can cancel that we got that's why okay so it looks like for this budget cycle it'll still be we're kind of going to be in the same situation but hopefully the next one we'll finally be free of voal in on we can kind of actually you know start using our budget all right cool cool cool cool all right so we'll move on to Old business real quick the EDC cender of events I know we talked about at the end of our meeting in November kind of setting up more in advance um than we were before previously um we spoke in that meeting I have it written down that we wanted to do networking socials in January April September in December I just quar yeah once a quarter so I just want to verify that we're all cool with that and then another thing is I was um notified from the Mi chamber that they're doing their own networking social with amazoni on February 26 and they're asking if we wanted to jump in like we normally do it doesn't have to be like we don't have to commit the $500 or whatever like we normally do but you know if we wanted to jump in in some other kind of way or something you know if we wanted to just tiag along with them you know we could obviously do the $500 like we normally do and participate and try to get them you know to have out some little finger foods like normal or we can you know kind of stick we are I think it's going to happen regardless that's why so it' really just be for us to just kind of do that little extra support and to promote it from the town then that's really what it would be for what's up no oh you okay sorry I'm so sorry I thought you were trying to say something but um but anyways I think in the actual budget I think we're set up for more than just one a quarter aren't we for the networking socials that we could do more than one if we want to so this is basically me saying that right now we've got January April September December pretty locked in do we want to slot in one already for February 26th basically as an extra one it takes away a little bit of the money that we have at the end of the year from the camp but we kind of had too much anyways for the sponsorships that's why I'm kind of saying probably doesn't hurt to slot it in everyone think about it second I would I think that the more that we could participate in these things best our ability yeah I kind of I'm inclined to agree all right cool so if anybody wants a motion to participate in that February 26 we can do that a motion cool cool all in favor awesome so we'll jump in for that February 26 I'll work on getting a W9 and invoice from then cool and then with that in mind too I guess start brainstorming I guess if you guys have any ideas for April that's going to be the next networking social so if you guys have any ideas of restaurants maybe local ones new ones you know doesn't have to be anything right now but you know start thinking about it for that next March meeting I guess we can already have it in mind and have it kind of picked out for the end of April beans um other than that the next thing in Old business um best of Miami Lakes um we all talked about this again briefly um at the end November as well and again really quick two weeks ago when we just met for a second before we had Corum so what I want to do for this and I think what we should do for this at least is we got to take more of an active role like we used to like I didn't know that it was Andre and the EDC that started that whole thing in the first place it was just I had people coming up to me and I'm sure you guys did too asking about nominations and oh how come I didn't get nominated or how do I get pushed in more how do I how do I find out so I think the best way for us to do that I'm not saying you guys did a bad job because I and Jonathan killed it like it wouldn't happen without you guys but I think we got to take more of an active role in pushing it and making it more known you know what I mean like at least I can blow it up more on the chambers end and send it out there and you know get the business Community more involved and I think all of us can use our local networks to kind of you know just push it a little bit just you know and try to get more people involved and make it more of a thing you share it on across the social medias of our different businesses and things like that and then just you know just take more of an active role I think that it starts when when do you guys normally start working on it a the best of Miami Lakes for the next year I think sometime around October or September I would if you guys give me the info by August let's say so we're early okay we can make sure we go out with it with whatever details yeah promot in the launches at the chamber every month so get used to it will be on not that that Fred does uh yeah or whoever the next president will be we'll find out after we'll see but um all right cool so August is when you're saying we should have so if you guys can take a look at it um on our web page like what the initiative looked like this year in case you guys have any edits on the categories or whatever the criterias are just let me know by August and we'll push it out one of the things when we first did it is we like paid attention to like the Laker schedule so that way the lak could make sure that they were putting out the whatever the QR code is and they would list like the finalist and everything was done like in syns you know from social media to like the Laker and everything in between so I just wouldn't keep that in mind as we like talk about deadlines and Outreach and everything else yeah I like the idea of that especially if we have more marketing dollars to kind of do like what Lynn's been doing with the food and wine little poster and putting it around taking little pictures with it and stuff like you could really you know push push it around I get people that are trying to be in it like let's say BB's Bak house wants to be I don't know best baked goods you know you put the QR code in their store on the window like vote for us for best of Miami Lakes you know we can give out those flyers you know that's something we could easily print and give out to different businesses you know stuff like that I have a quick question yeah when we say that we wanted to be more active on the road we mean uh by marketing it by selecting the things because she says that she needs the information by certain time but what information should we give that would improve it or enhance it or that's what she or any changes you guys may want to make for example criteria like the the type of um award and if we're keeping the same I guess the the finalist the winner like anything that you guys you know want to do just to understand just so I it's how do you get to the final list how you get to the you know you just ask the question through our social medias and stuff like that and then we get the finalist of the different categories I think so we get the votes and then based on the higher the highest the top four five those are the finalists for that category and then that final round people are just selecting one so for example nominate that's like a WR in I'm assuming the nomination and anyone can nominate so you can have like all your employees nominate you okay cool our perspective youself yeah businesses I guess like you guys can help with with your connections is there was some business I think you guys had mentioned that didn't even know right so they felt like when they got to the finalist round they're like oh down we're already out and we didn't even know so it really that's really what it is and at the end of the day if you want to take a look but like I said I'm pretty sure I and Jonathan have probably a really good system that you guys set up I'm sure I'm sure it works but um we just got to push it that's really what we have to do is just push it and I think having the information by August to your Point allows us to for sure meet the Laker deadline yeah well I just think it helps to like get the information out and like they can share the information I mean it's just one more touch point at the end of the day not to take advant double check you're talking about criteria you're talking about categories and you're talking about yeah I guess like have the final project done of what you guys wanted to look like so we know what we're going out there I mean I think we started with only like five or six categories when we originally started then it expanded yeah so maybe some of those categories are no longer you guys don't think you know maybe or maybe there's something busy yeah okay awesome you said it's on the website right we can take a look at it there cool so I say we all take a look at that and just you know give it a perusal and see what's going on see if we got to remove any categories add any cool yeah and that's what I meant by active role just basically marketing it so we just got to push it creating the marketing strategy for it so we help using some of our budget because as we saw at the end of the year we kind of put a lot into the sponsorships and doing Superfluous things for the for the boot camp which was great but at the same time we could probably I think that's the smarter things like marketing like doing things like this like a little and we can the planet with one of the you know to to uh do the awards or stuff like that with one of our Network meetings exactly yeah make it more of a exactly make it more of a big deal yeah the first couple years we did it at the festival of life since it was small business Saturday the same day and so it made sense right it was like we're here we're celebrating small business Saturday if you haven't out you know support them but you're our winners right that's what I mean by active role just participating because as of right now if we had just faded out completely and that's why I had no idea that it was started like that like here originally I had no clue that's why so I think we'd do it all right cool so I'll keep that in the agendas then um the boot camp we're not really going to talk about much right now because it's still kind of early but just to keep that in the back of the mind that's probably going to happen again towards the end of the year so we I'll keep putting it on the agenda and we'll probably start talking about I'm assuming probably like in March we'll probably start going a little bit deeper um all right cool so now the new business the exciting stuff Main Street Live right this is the big event that we're trying to do with the cultural Affairs committee I thought there was already going to be one in January and then I yeah I got canel okay cuz I was so confused cuz I was asking for the flyer and I got a Main Street players flyer instead so yeah so the weather was lousy right um and so we made the call last not last minute but at about 1:30 in the afternoon that day and we got a hold of the band and they're like thank you for calling us now because we don't even want to go out right now so I mean it it all worked out in that capacity and to be honest like marketing it like I think we were the only ones doing it at that moment so you know it was just it worked I think it all worked out the way it was supposed to at the end of the day but the plan is um the the initial plan was to do it on the third Friday of the month and we the our commitment was just the first three months so January February March in order to see what kind of you know follow following we could get um Al also knowing like as you get into the summer months gets hotter and wetter and you you're kind of a thing so like trying to take advantage right now of the nice weather um so the next one is actually scheduled for February 21st okay the culture Affairs committee voted on like the three bands that original bands and so she um ficia has been doing all the heavy lifting um of coordination of the Bands the stage and lighting which is also needed um I just forwarded to aisle the the flyer because Felicia just gave it to me to like half hour you want me to share with you you can yeah I'm like I don't want to pull it up on my phone um if there's a way um but so you know our plan is to set it out tomorrow to all in the Main Street Merchants um um like I said I just got it and um and we'll start promoting it for the next three weeks or three and a half weeks which I think is plenty of time in order to get the word out um it's like from 7:30 to 9:30 um it's just strictly the band right now I know Felicia had high hopes of adding additional items whether it's artists and different types of things going on but at the moment it's just the band okay um and obviously it will be the stage will be where we had Festival Lights um main stage so in front the old samura or 20 Ras since that space is vacant it's easy to kind of set up the stage without interfering with local the traffic during the day um which allows us to not have to close the street down during the day not till later in the night uh or later in the afternoon which is what we normally do anyways um and yeah so right now it's really just um marketing and we and we p a motion on our budget to help marketing the event that you know I think that's some of the things that kind of improve the economic of everybody we can do a plan to promote that event so that way other people from other cities come and they come and you know they enjoy the event so right now there's no sponsors other than the gram companies because even the main stre merchs don't have funding for it so right now the gram companies um the planers to sponsor the first one and hopes to try to get some additional sponsorships for the second and the third one um obviously we have left over money because the first one didn't happen so we'll do the second one um and then kind of from there hopefully get additional support [Music] um okay see how it goes gotcha so as of right now what can we do in terms of marketing to assist like what Carlos was suggesting absolutely yeah so right now they don't have any Flyers anything like that right like there's no there's no printed thing marketing for the printing or anything like that no like literally I just got it from Felicia perfect perfect okay yeah so I say we help with that we can do at least from my perspective we can print out the flyer it would be great if we can do like a social media campaign with that flyer start an Eventbrite with it maybe do an Eventbrite campaign with the flyer and like with the whole event um so yeah those are the three things I can think of as right now up the top the um and the other thing that I don't know how you guys are thinking to do it but for example you guys trying to get sponsorships right what will be kind of the levels and what will they get so that's we're trying to see because obviously we haven't done it yet so we're not quite sure even who our crowd is or anything else right so I mean right now we kind of threw a random budget of just on the high end of $5,000 I think the last one that we were doing was going to be about $4,000 all in which is not bad um so each band is a little different um and so so and their needs are different so we're trying to keep it you know not overdoing it at the moment just but um but is between B and lights and Stage right now yeah I mean there was Alicia the culture Affairs committee would love to bring in like additional items to kind of activate the treat like the artists and you know maybe there someone fting there and she was talking to Bernardo and um the frame shop and and different things so there's opportunity but you know some of it will be free some of it will cost money so right now because there isn't a pleer of money um we were keeping it simple to just the music moment okay I'm just thinking just to get sponsorship like for example if CH wants to sponsorship something what will be will be like a panel that is on the back with a logo right I don't know things that way how can we figure it out how to also promote through maybe the chamber wants to sponsor some things ER you know so I think is but who is in charge of Felicia to do that so Fel is doing a lot of the heavy lifting right yeah okay and then she's kind of just bringing it to the Grand compes and we're just literally writing checks at the moment because then we don't have theice the following question is because I know Felicia has come to one of the public meetings and she requested our help to be able to do that so should we get an active road to that to let's say help about getting a sponsorship help all structure the program help all do all those things or just kind of put some funds for the market so I I just want to understand I'm saying prob probably a package get involved well the sponsorship but for us I think from no he's saying for the committee yeah from our understanding um when felici was here last time we spoke about it January we're going to be passive because we weren't going to have our December meeting to talk about it and that moving forward we're going to try to be a little bit more active and try to actually help her out because right now she's just kind help yeah she's kind of freef falling a little bit and then she's got the cultural Affairs commune to help her out but she explained to us that they don't really have a lot of the budget available to do this but we were telling her that we have the budget that we can help out here and there yes especially in the future with logo intelligence right now no but we still have budget to mess around with understand so yes it would be now moving forward taking more of an active role which would be trying to get sponsorship and funny Felicia would basically be in charge of all the cultural Parts about it so it would be the band finding the artist and stuff like that unless of course anybody here has connections for that then of course you know bring that information to Felicia and she can you you know we can work on it together um that's why I think we I remember bringing up the idea before I just don't know if it was possible but do do like a joint subcommittee if that's possible that we have like a subcommittee that's basically Felicia and whoever wants to help here the two or three people and then you know they can meet as well you know separate from our meeting just to kind of make sure things are going all right you know that's something I was playing with the idea too I don't know if that's possible like uh you guys used to they used to do it for the culinary right okay cool cool so that's something I would like to play with maybe mess around with b and have like a day that we can just come in maybe once a month and just kind of make sure hey are we good to go with this like how are we doing with the sponsorships like do does anybody have any cool new ideas you know we can bring in the ideas that we came in you know here at this larger meeting and then kind of put it into play there if that makes sense yes uh I think uh I don't know we had motion or what exactly the plan should be but I think we should take an active role as she asked I think that the the grams the Miami mainstream need it so the events are more like for example in January you know I try to post something on chellas like the last minute because somebody called me that hey remember that it's going to be this and I'm like okay so I asked Vanessa to kind of push it but if it is kind of more organized between all of us chamber may be involved yep you know the city the grahamon we can push it more I think three weeks is still short time a little tough tough but uh if we need to do it we knew it or we do it to the next one but as soon as possible I think it's better yeah I think with this one we can start as at least with the marketing stuff with this one and then hopefully for the next one in would this be considered the third or the second I guess the first this would be the first right no no no that's good that's good I'm just saying it's not the second that me have two I mean you talk to people but at the same time they're like what kind of crowds do you have and we're like we don't know so like it's really hard for sponsorship to kind of like like this is where our tier and I get it I get it I don't know what we're I don't want to over talk to you about festival lights all day long um no I get you we're trying to start something new here yeah we're trying to start something I get it push it out one canellation or down to two think we' like to do February March um and then if April's an option you know keep that's what I was wondering if April was just off the table now because January didn't happen yeah me we're good it all depends on the weather and how good we're doing all right cool I want to make sure I'm receiving direction from the CR are you guys trying to allocate fund from your current Bud to help with this marketing or no as of right now yes we just haven't decided what yet that's it so right now we're still just kind of talking right now so nothing right now right now no no voting yet but we we're all kind of coming to the conclusion that yes we're going to put some of our budget into this and it's most likely going to be marketing that's that's where we're at right now the only issue is that the we have to vote for something if we wanted to do something today in because if not the next month is already 5 days no that's why it have to be today that's why I'm saying the only thing that we could realistically I'm thinking do today is marketing which we could basically say we're going to set apart this much to print 500 flyers we're going to set apart this much for social media ads on Facebook and Instagram and we're going to set apart this much to do event Bri campaign and then that's what we can do for this month with what Felicia has set up and then hopefully we can set up the the subcommittee and then we can go into the next meeting with you know more information and with actually you know an active role if whoever was part of that subcommittee saying hey this is what we need this is how we got to push it this is what I need the people my fellow committee members to do to help get sponsored etc etc you get mean so that's why I'm thinking for this first one I think we can really just kind of help Market it which I mean that's kind of all we can do really because that's you know we're kind of making up the establishment for it and then from there we'll see how the first one goes we'll see how you know feel it out what we can do to improve and then that's when we can do the subcommittee figure it out we go into the next meeting do that with whoever was in there what's up the best thing of what what we see that he has working CH is the pay campaigns right the pay campaigns the even rights and stuff like that mainly The Print House stickers and stuff like that they don't work much flows we'll have all of us to kind of figure it out where we actually going put it I kind of create a a a a plan to do so um so marketing and pay campaigns where would be like what would be the business account that promotes that's the question that I was about to ask I because before it was Jonathan doing it through the town's social media I'm assuming through their business account yeah but how does that work now do you know it would be no but we we have a new person that came in so that's why I was asking you guys do I have direction that you guys are telling me hey spend I don't know on let me know and I'll so that's still doable it's through the town's like business business ads account now I know you had asked I know we have like obviously the town of Miami Lakes one which we could use but I know that they're bringing back the the shop so I guess you guys tell me which one you want to do it out of or you a big backing right now well it's ad campaign it kind of skirts it a little bit but um I don't know I think for this one it might be from the town I feel like from this for this initial one just to kind of the EDC logos on it yeah just to give it a little bit more backing I feel like credibility the town like shot Miami yeah but I definitely agree that that's something I didn't put on this agenda but in the future I want to work on that website that we have but we'll work we'll about that later there's too much real life stuff right like it's Instagram Facebook kind of thing Instagram Facebook and then I'm also thinking event right campaign but I don't know well you just tell me I guess you tell me if that person knows how to do that or not even whatever Don I mean whatever Don is doing it crazy but all right cool all right cool so so just let me know the amount all right so we'll do a social media ads for Facebook and Instagram So Meta we'll do an event bright campaign do we not want to do any print fers you think like nothing put up on like main around Main Street or something I'm thinking or do you think that's not needed like I mean we can put those out oh you guys perect perfect I wasn't sure if that was like needed to be bu those um um big signs that you guys have on it the Aames or the kiosks I I don't know I don't another the a the kosk yes we have science already okay so and they're just being updated monthly with the new one like it's because it's all the same information just a different date and different P okay okay okay okay so we can utilize okay cool okay cool cool awesome all right cool um how much the can the ABC advertise in the uh in the chamber like email campaigns and all that um I mean I'll do that regardless the E gets a little bit of a cheat sheet there with the chamber since I'm the one that does the emails for the chamber so so it will happen you have to worry about that I'm the since it's also a collaboration with the town can they do their police sign like they do for J and oh that's yeah that's an easy cool like like that big police sign sometimes they put like little announcements on like you J in the park at this time yeah on there they have a pretty much a mail facility when the there [Music] seen and [Music] Dix all right so before we get to further along with all this let's do a motion let's look at the budget real quick so right now it's going to be a motion to do social media ads on Facebook and Instagram and or I guess to do a meta advertisement Campaign which is Facebook and Instagram and then event right advertisement campaign so let's see how much budget we can set apart for this just so you know I'm looking at this payment okay and uh the local Intel yeah the 7500 represents this this this one that you're looking at um that was the last of the latest contract so that's it for you guys oh okay so there is no next fiscal year the other the remaining 2500 was paid out of the previous okay so this is the remainder okay so we should be good to just your total amount so now anything that we want to reallocate we're going to have to go the N because it's going to be larger amounts than the 700 saes right but that would be yeah yeah unless it's all within miss or marketing miscellaneous expenses right because even though it is still on marketing but is larger than 700 he has to ask for permission to the okay but let's say we're just going to let's say we're in marketing mous expenses right and we decide right now to spend $800 on the social media campaign would that be a problem that we have to that falls on Market okay yeah yeah that's it we just that's what we were confused on so we're good yeah that's it chamber chamber means like any chamber chamber expenses so in reality what that all is really for is for the greater miam chamber annual membership that's usually what that is allocated to which is it was it was the first bill it's it is 1,178 so then that leaves us with what is it like 800 or 900 something like that in there something like that I don't know it leaves us with a little bit to play with in there that we can sometimes use for like let's say the Expo if we jump in on the Expo for the Miami Lakes chamber or something like that because the Miami Lakes chamber membership of the EDC is part of the town's membership which isn't paid through here like the town p part so we get a portion of what the town pays the town pays for the Miami chamber membership and then the EDC pays for the greater chamber membership it's a little bit confusing they're two different okay Greater Miami chamber the Greater Miami yeah that's what we pay for in our line item it's just labeled wrong that's why it's very confusing it's labeled Miami Lakes chamber but it's not it's a greater chamber that's why it's very conf right to change the line item just to get rid of ml we like screw it we understand it'ser chamber but it's that's kind of why we didn't change it because we know it's a it's a mess to change line items and do all that for you guys so that's what we kind of came to with Jonathan like whatever we know what it is we know what it marke that would be marketing so would come out of that come out of that and and right now we're- 7500 on 12,000 75 yep we've got 3500 to play with marketing expensive question so we know how much we kind of have to be able to make it you more educated decision because where we have spent the majority of the marketing he's for the event that we advertise right right uh I I I personally prepar not to take much of that because I think we need to continue growing that and I think it's being kind of from us so after leaving the budget of that how much do we have count do we know or no well we did make a separate line item for the boot camp remember we we made a separate line item for the vot camp the seminars on the bottom okay so we have 2000 separated for the boot camp specifically and what happened to us last time or at least this last year that 2,000 we barely even touched remember because we had so many sponsorships we didn't expect to have a breakfast sponsor uh like a a location sponsor two coffee sponsor it was like non-stop sponsorship which which was awesome but then we had 2,000 bucks just there that's why we were kind of like get a bunch of gift cards like put $500 into the campaign I told Jonathan to go crazy with the campaign so we're good we've got we're good on that and the networking the the the socials it's uh Network business Network and social yeah that's there's $3,000 yep and then that's has spent yeah right now we're gonna have minus 500 I guess you can kind of imagine your mind to that because 500 of that is going to gel tomorrow so we're minus 500 on that okay and then I guess another minus 500 will be for Amazon February yeah which still gives us enough for the next three quarters and even then then some so would give you for the for the next three quarters and then we can slot in here and there what we did last year if everybody remembers we we also had a little bit left over it wasn't a lot it was like I think it was like 500 it was enough for like one networking social and we used that for the boot camp networking social we use it specifically for that but in reality the 2,000 from the boot camp is also for that networking social used for that so we're still okay we're still more than pay on budget May throw CA I think it was yeah that's right remember the whole goal this year is to be on top of the budget so we actually spend it cuz the last time we had a little bit open so we went a little bit crazy with the what's the budget because I know government you know either spend it you know use it or lose it you know it doesn't carry over so what's the time you know October to September the end of September question do we know how many other events that Paris is going to have the what that how many more events are going to happen in Main Street through the other Comm for the Main Street Live yes I mean right now the commitment was three okay so three so I mean there could be a fourth or a fifth successful we get SP okay so this will be the first one and we know that most likely it's going to be too yeah so that's why I was saying that for this one we'll go crazy with the marketing because that's all we really can do with the little time we have and then hopefully we can set up that subcommittee meeting with Felicia and whoever else wants to participate here they can meet before our next meeting and then we go into our next meeting with an update from whoever's on that subcommittee meeting and then we can then participate given what we need to say and then hopefully we're good to go for that March one with marketing and whatever you know edits or you know adjustments we had and then you know we'll kind of Go full force with EDC and cultureal Affairs together this one we're going to participate within the marketing okay which is where we're at right now which is why we we're to bring it back to re it back in we had $4,500 left or open right now in the marketing miscellaneous expenses so how much of that do we want to allocate right now to this event um and just to put into perspective that's $4,500 based off what we've talked about it doesn't really get touched too much for the rest of the year because we've got the we've got the 2,000 for the boot camp the networking socials are covered and the Chamber expenses are covered so this is really just going to be for marketing expenses for the year right so let's let's think about that so we've got a little bit to mess around with so 4500 based off of my experience I would think like at least like at least like a $300 campaign I'm thinking for each of these is what I'm thinking like $300 in meta $300 on event right I'm thinking or maybe 150 and then uh 300 300 500 in total okay I think 500 in total you're saying across Eventbrite and Facebook together 500 yeah that's about the same yeah I was thinking 600 so that's about the same I think 600 yeah I was thinking 300 300 but that that's about the same that works so does anybody want a motion for 500 or 600 anybody wants to start that going whichever one okay with either or anybody has 500 would be okay let's do 500 then it'll make it it'll look nicer in the line item as well bring it down toat proper motion no no yeah that's what I'm saying yeah if anybody wants to do that we're just that's right we're still spitballing a little bit the 5 500 or 600 how stresses me out man no cuz I'm like it's coming it's coming the mo is coming on the marketing for the evain I second all right cool okay what's up the 500 does it have to be split in any way or I just put in general 500 I would say 54 in marketing I Mar yeah just we leave that up to whoever is yeah leave it up to that and they can decide whichever one they want to focus on whichever one's doing the best yeah they can kind of see it can be performing for a week and then they decide oh look how good if Empire is doing let's put more money into that so let's let them do their thing do you guys have any requests because I think if I if I'm saying this correctly um there's opportunity for you to like Target right yeah like demographics is there anything you guys 10 miles is what doing we're doing 10 miles in chal to kind of capture everything from griefing to the out okay so that way know that is a range between 25 minutes that people are willing to [Music] drive within a 10 mile radius and I think age range kind of right now is pretty open right just not seniors I think it would be below that some people that can kind of keep [Music] coming I a question well my I mean like 80 plus that's what I consider underneath 80 I consider senior it's just anybody wants to be sponsored let's say we want to sponsor $200 for whatever expenses you guys have should we do it to them so they spend it on the thing but I don't know if the the city can get money from us or who's is committee of a first getting I think this would be what the next like what the subcommittee discusses with yeah we need to figure that out with like sits down talks with Felicia and really thinks about it more than just kind of like on the spot that's why I think that's where that comes into play now and just so for general information how will that work because I know that committee the first Affairs committee is kind of organizing and doing and collecting the Fon and paying and all of those things if they get funds from sponsor how will they work on their budget or our budget or so I'm happy to discuss this with cultural Affairs at their next meeting only because to be very honest with you my understanding was really that it was the musician and that was about it I think whatever Felicia is doing at this point is outside of scope of cultural Affairs which is fine no in terms of like they haven't you know they haven't been pulled into those details than the musician but me it's it's our event I mean it's our stage person that we work with for festival lights it's I mean she just literally it's the three of them on one email then we're copied on because we're saying we don't have the time or you know the to be able to stay on top of it and so she's been willing to do that so so this is a Graham's company idea yeah it's our no it's well no it's idea Felicia because it was a town event that used to happen pre my time okay um yeah R Disney would come I don't know if you remember that I I remember Radio Disney would come and they would do little things and do performances and I I used to like it's not necessarily A Town Event you're holding the liability um we tried it's something that could be brought up so like that we have the direction from the committee so to get both together but normally when the cultural Affairs committee has um events we create sponsor we just don't have anything right now because like they're Spirit heading most of the efforts there but you guys get sponsored so if it is cash a sponsor they would write we do a sponsorship package you sign off like yes you're agreeing this we generate an invoice you send us a text yeah and then we acknowledge you as a sponsor based on the benefits that are outlined on that package okay I just just wanted tell us sponsor some so just let me know how it will work so I guess we can work on that yeah package so with that in mind before we get off the topic of Main Street Live who wants to be part of the subcommittee I'm gonna be part of it I think Carlos I want to be part of it you want to be M so malali Carlos myself George maybe I don't them so then we got Maddie George I was do the one for the boot camp never had anybody so I sent the invite to the entire company anyway so show up let me know what let me know what weeks and times we looking so I can look at available is it possible to I guess we can't because of the sunshine thing but we got to coordinate with Felicia a little bit that's the only person that's not here right now that needs that makes it um I mean I meet with a committee with specifically cultural Affairs on when February 12th okay I don't know if you guys want to are trying to meet before that or after that February 12 I think before okay yeah yeah I'd say before for sure like like what you're saying Manny next week but let's see uh if anything I can you maybe send emails out to us and then I just don't know what's the best way I just don't want to have to coordinate with a bunch of people because that's never going to Happ crazy so I think whose Focus I guess whose time should be she the one somebody else from here just we go from there I think okay make it work yeah yeah so I'll propose some times and dates to her for next we I'm GNA be here but I can connect okay that's fine too put speaker that works too that so you know we normally don't do like we don't but um Council actually just passed something where they want us to do a zoom interaction I just don't know if we're going to be prepared for that by next if we are on let you know okay yeah but they have to train us to do that it's but can I connect one no it's always live stream but in terms of like the interaction is what we've never you would be able to vote right exactly that's fine okay we're not voting even even the discussion Che next week be here all right picture all right cool so I think I think we're good on Main Street Live we've got the $500 allocated that we're going to help boost this one from the EDC and then we're going to work with I on setting up a date for that subcommittee meeting yeah so I'll connect with felici and let her know that you guys want to meet next week and go now and it would be to talk about the feary sorry who ow me so I need to know who I need um you she hasn't I yeah I mean she has bullets that like we keeping off every time we email thank and you I guess we clear on expectations what you guys need from cultural Affairs like that she can present to the following perfect exactly yeah that's why we just want to have a chance to sit down with her and now say okay now that we're all back for the year let's actually get going on this and it would be for the March one because or yeah because the February 1 is already going to happen and we're just going to boost it that's that's the plan March when we go full force awesome we got her all right cool next new business thing this one's quick secret Miami I got a reach out from Andrew she connected me with them I was like I can't talk on and be a part of this communication know but I want her to make sure you're good yeah you're good but I was talking to them they were very nice and basically what it is that they offer it's if you guys have your phones you can check it out real quick it's it's an Instagram account Facebook account called secret Miami and what they do is they basically post and do like an article post and then a story post Instagram post where they can kind of promote something specific that you want in the town I looked at their rates I don't think it fits 100% for what we want it's seven their cheapest rate was $7,000 for for the whole package which was to do an article an Instagram whole feature and the Facebook whole feature and I I don't think LinkedIn but just like you know basically an article and then featured across all their socials right and then their whole thing is that their reach that's why they have 245,000 followers they're reach in Miami they said was 5 million but reach is it's kind of a Superfluous number like it matters but not really but then it's an exaggeration yeah I mean it's not an exaggeration like I'm sure 500 or five million people might come across it but whether they're actually absorbing it is another thing yeah um I talked to them a little bit about their demographics because that's the only thing I wasn't I was worried about because I told them our demographics here Miami Lakes isn't doesn't look like what they're pushing which is like all those super Miami stuff like it's I was like doesn't really fit our vibe of Miami Lakes like especially what we're going to be switching which is like business kind of stuff like they're talking about like you know car shows and right which we have I guess too but but that is a little that's not what we're trying to do with the EDC at least you know which is the business stuff I get what they're doing like they have things where they push specific restaurants like oh here's a new restaurant and stuff like that you know they put like you know the top for us it would probably be something along the lines of like you know the best places best I don't know best quain places to visit in Miami or something like that and it goes over places in Miami Lakes that are nice and cute to visit or something like that you know what I mean the only reason I don't think it works for us is because $7,000 is that's that's like local Intel that's local inel that's I don't know yeah but um yeah that's why it was a little pricey that local in all yeah local Intel you can see it there what what they offered us in the contract here is this these tools on that we have a website that's I think it's like miam Lakes biz.net or.com something on those lines and on in that website there's a separate link that you can go to called local Intel and when you click on it it takes you to a customized domain that we have here my. ec.org and what it does is it'll give you all these tools a story map I think the Discover industry Trend you can research demographics in Miami Lakes basically all these things that businesses when they're already coming into the town they already kind of know that it was what this was forced for people that are looking for that information but the kind of businesses that are coming into the town it's not yes we get Mom and Pops but it's a lot of people that are you know doing their homework and we're trying to bring in you know bigger people not somebody that's kind of you know lost trying to figure that out but um they last three months in in a location exactly right and at the same time based off what we saw we used to get traffic reports as well from local Intel nobody was using it it was very very small the amount of traffic that it would actually get and people using it every week or excuse me every month so it just it came to the conclusion that it's you know we tried pushing it we tried going through different steps we had flyers and pushing it and it wouldn't still wouldn't get any traction we talked about it on the boot camp the first one still nobody really cared so that's why we kind of came to the conclusion it's been 2019 is when it started so it's been more than five years it was even before me that this was going on and that we came to the conclusion that it's it's eating up $7,000 and $2500 first it looks like a big like a like a good idea but then in practice it didn't turn out that way so that's why we decided let's cut cut it where we're at and now for the next fiscal year we're going to have a full $112,000 in marketing to really play with and really play with ideas like we had of maybe doing you know buying a like a a banner or were we discussing what do they call like the Clear Channel big like Banner ad they have on the uh Express like doing things like that and like you know we could really actually have the funds in the EDC to say oh we're going to put ourselves with Clear Channel and get you know hook us up with Alexus from you know whoever from from the chamber she works for Clear Channel now and get ourselves on abanded for a month you know we're pushing you know Main Street live for a month on the banner you know what I mean that we do that every month in my yeah whatever stuff like that but just just so we can cuz right now we were a little bit locked in because of exactly it's listen they see it there they can exit on 154 if you put it in h going south you missed it yeah that's right we'll talk about that we we 87 that's why we we'll talk about when we get there when we get that'll be next fiscal year we got time we got time all cool so then the last thing of today is the E elections so this is the moment of truth I guess for the like elections if anybody wants to go for anything want you to be chair again I second that you got that Jess this is nominated yeah people nominate I guess so right now you accept do you accept oh yeah okay all right so as a reminder the positions right now is vice chairperson and Secretary of the other two so Vice chairperson right now is Jose Yano the great Jose Yano and then we've got for secretary Romy Romy portor nominate the only way we're gonna get her here to give her a purpose Interruption I approve all in favor I guess yes it wasn't it [Music] wasn't they were gonna accept the next one so I think we left that vote for the next one and that happened last time is that possibly one vot say that for the commit rules you guys are supposed to have elections in janary right in January I mean if you want to have elections again that's can yeah I mean it would just be pending one I yeah it would be pending one petition we did it last I sh you what the committee R you were supposed to have elections and we are for the month of January Jessica we vote Jessica from January I don't like and a ribbon cutting so that you there you have fun [Laughter] minutes there's an app for no you can you can there's actually I don't like it there actually an app it takes minutes is it listens to everything you're saying right and identif voice all right so oh yeah who's doing the vice chair is not the late just the great i n holding you accept good I think everything stay the same yeah guess all right cool R in other than that tomorrow the G networker that'll be fun are we going to have a check for them tomorrow I don't know if we have the check ready but I told you right if it really comes down to it I'll pay the 500 bucks I don't care there no we gotta get Haven a couple months after but um like I said if it really come we spoke to him yesterday I spoke to him yesterday and he seemed like he said seemed like it was cool with there for the most part like I said I'll get reimbursed from the town ler I don't care what0 tomorrow at 5:30 the Miami Chamber of Commerce golf tournament yes March 14th 14 and we need sponsors we are looking for sponsors I already it does the same go from from last year that we from from R yes okay already Yes I mean Miami are the main sponsors and then we're looking you know it's all levels of sponsorship you know anybody that could help us with that we greatly appreciate it T that's great cool all right awesome and then February 12th is a chamber lunch can I ask you to send me um dat that you have like pre confirmed for networking so we can make that I'll be add them to our well it's not like set dates yet right now we just have months and then we kind of decide I don't know Matthew we the the sa uh din round card and I lost one of the sponsors because they closed down maybe when replace that sponsor you guys have any idea may CL maybe clo yeah May clo so we to it's a restaurant what is this and or they already get their [Music] stickers I can do so no these are just the people that were hey real quick before we before we adjourn before we adjourn I've seen them does anybody want to give out these stickers so these there's one volunteer left to give out stick 1 2 3 four five local businesses you want do it I already did yeah for sure okay I'll get i'll it oh then here you wantan to I got a few pictures of if you need so Green's Award winner right yeah can I just give him the one for first origin it kind of makes sense to just give him yeah just don't I guess just do whatever first or hold on give me a second okay just give me the huh no no because I'm also taking some but first on my list that's all put it up on the door post this is yours if you guys want to trade for it yeah just one extra that's be first Orin Award winner they're an award winner cool then I just got to give Yugo and Eddie yes what's that b place on Main Street BB's Bak house that's another good one if you're talking about your the card is that what you mean card yeah for thato there a cool guy he always yeah he's always winning I have I have a card want to see it about it next oneaz partnership always partnered with like the Mi the Mi chamber and the EDC which is also but we kind of do amongst the four of them together okay cool all second second all favor all right we are now joury we're free neighbor e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e hey call the meeting into order there it is turn it up here somebody do this I hate 702 you're calling into order yes please unlocking unlock it unlock it [Music] okay okay meeting uh we're to call the meeting order 702 702 we said [Music] okay before we start I just want to mention a correction under secretary they had George Torres it's it's George Pena just because it's been there like two meetings that was me I didn't really pass it the agenda sorry no you're good I just want to you know correct it so that's a small correction we got 702 hi why you don't like the tourist last they getting rid of all that stuff bro roll call Nancy Rogers here Johnny Torres here GE pñ here Carlos andrees here Louis Lopez here anybody your new member my new member okay want you to introduce yourself well I think you guys already know me I've been here um for the past couple of months as a visitor official now I'm official oh yeah it's just good to that's right all right we put you on traffic safety there you go Bob gr we need everybody okay um first order of business is committee elections so just to make sure we're voting for the chair the vice chair and secretary okay uh is there anybody holding a position that would like to remain in that position or uh no comments no answer how about I don't mind remaining I for secretary I would it kind of threw the B chair on me last year but to be honest I think Carlo should I mean go for by chair it will be a better fit uh either for chair or by chair whichever but I would not like to be the vi chair this time around thank you okay well um as part of the elections process I am stepping down as chair okay and so anybody who would like to take that position speak up now I well I'm getting there okay and anybody who wants to run as chair speak up I'm stepping down who's stepping up um I think you have a motion is that a motion on the floor accepts the nomination and I'll second the motion somebody can second the mo make the motion Dominic AR uhair all in favor any NES okay okay let me catch up can I make a nominee sure yes make a motion I'd like to make a motion to nominate Nancy as Vice chair I second does Nancy agree she needs to accept the nomination yes in favor anyone else want to okay all in favor all in favor y thank you look at that want to change seats dance okay all yours the most important position sorry the most important position is secretary unless you have secretary I do a motion to nominate George the secretary I appreciate it will you accept the nomin AC n joh Johnny and Darwin we're getting too far ahead of you now hold on Johnny and Darwin for that one go right yes yeah I guess so your turn Okay um it's funny because you know uh you guys be me to it because I was going to say that if I was going to be chair I would only want to do it with Nancy um Nancy has been extremely supportive um in teaching me the ropes and not just Nancy but all of you you know I'm a new K well not a new kid actually Ste in that's a new guy uh I I absolutely love what what I'm doing with this committee and I you know we have the best support to we have the police department and the fire department uh so it really makes our job easier um in the different initiatives that we're doing and all of you you know darwing and you know representing both fire and police has been a huge uh Mentor with different things that you know the department do uh especially fire here in the town that affects us directly um you know Mr Peña you know being a police officer and I working through a school also has helped me out a lot and everybody else teaching me the ropes so I'm super excited about it I'm passionate about I got into this committee because story that I know of all of you were here or not but I actually got broken into on a Saturday at 11 o'clock in the morning and the detective that handled my my uh Burg was actually detected theis um and you know that thankfully worked in my favor there was a little scuffle in my house and thankfully uh the gentleman was was caught and uh it's now I think going to trial after all these years uh but you know that took my Public Safety seriousness to the next level uh I was always Bing to three or five four police before it was pool until uh Mr Amador got into the video um and you know big into uh helping neighbors and Community involvement for the better of Miami leeks uh so I'm super excited for this opportunity and I can't thank Nancy enough um you know for for her support and in this Rule and um you know we we'll be tag taming this effort together so thank you again and I guess uh to move on to the order of business uh deferrals additions deletions um regarding [Music] of I I don't want to it needs to be recorded but yet we're not going to mention name we have a past member that we have app plag for and I I want to add that to Old business well the good news is it is there so it's ab and we'll be discussing that is that where it that was going to be so that's that's that's definitely there um and then I guess Isabella is it is it okay if I make an addition just for like a general update to discuss different conversations that I've had with Town management the website and all that or do I need to be specific about that addition okay you got an announcements okay yeah all right that okay okay so that to the very end so no no this is fine yeah this is this perfect yeah so just a general update about different things and and um I want to recognize CL that's joining us today she's in charge of um the department that Isabella is part of and appreciate her support and her team they' helped us out tremendously over this this last year now leading into 25 okay so go ahead Communications and Community Affairs back to me than than and um yeah so they're they're very instrumental to making sure we get our word out so um I appreciate their partnership immensely or their their leadership uh tremendously so now on to the next item adoption of December 9 2024 minutes um I'm not sure if if you if you all had an opportunity to look at them um I'll make a motion to approve them and then if uh if you all agree then you can on it to approve the minutes for December 9th okay all in favor all all okay anyone against okay I have okay next we got public comments okay I see none uh for the for the record they will be in the coming months they'll be having a training where public comments will be accessible through YouTube or um I believe this is not YouTube zoom zoom yes so that's going to be something that's going to coming up in the next couple of months um where folks will will be able to heal directly from um on on residents during the meeting okay on to special presentations fire department uh fire department is not present at at here have they sent you anything of your M they have not that's fine we'll get all with the Hass police department off you recognized all right happy New Year to everyone again um I have the numbers for uh year to date although proba been 28 days but right Prime doesn't stop luckily zero homicides for robberies we were at two last year we're at one this year but we're down by 50 um for auto we're at five we're down to three and burglaries commercial and residentials it was zero and we have zero now I never talk about Larsen which is theft over uh last year we at we were at 11 and this year we're we're only at three so that went down significantly everything in general went down this past year so our numbers have been I mean only problem having low numbers is you can't go any low you got to go up so unfortunately that's the only problem that we have with that but so far we've been able to go a little bit lower so that's good and as far as I know that Dom presented during the last c meeting that the numbers for 2024 were very low very low so I think that you know for 2024 is that like one of our lowest Years yet yeah yeah absolutely yeah so I mean in that case you know you got to really consider you know um the police is popular now they're even more popular when when they get to see those presentations so um you know I commend you guys for what you do and uh I guess keep up a good work right I'll say something um I love being here in the town and and 99% of the officers that are here re want to be here and you know you get rumors of people saying oh their own Police Department listen whatever the town votes for hey the pwn residents are going to do that thing but they really need to know what they're voting for if that ever happens because there's there's and it's not my opinion it's just facts there's 100 million things that are more positive on having us here the sheriff now than having your own dep partment it's just incredible inly incredibly and and one of them is financially financially you're looking at double the amount just for having and all the resources that you guys have that the small police department caner and they would have to Outsource anyway exactly and and that's to mention you know the you know the reaction at least I'm getting as a resident Miami Lakes has been nothing but positive and then when you talk to other police officers they tell you the way it is right now is the best way from you know the conversations that I'm that I'm having with meur so um and and look you know there's improvements you know you see them voices are being heard you know thankfully Bob Graham has had some significant progress I've seen you know the gates opening earlier you know that was police got wrapped into that too and and there's been a lot of part not only that the the the way that they treat the the resident communication they always approach they always put a smile in the face there places that we see every day that we get get to get to know I see him here I see him at school every day see him in church when I go to church on Sunday so it's a good team that we have in this town when it comes to the Miami Sheriff so change it to a different system will not be smart to do so excited no I was going to say um for the record George Mr secretary you might make a note of that it's uh [Laughter] deputy I was gonna say that I don't know I don't know if you guys have heard what's going on in C side with their Police Department the mayor and the police are like fighting they're like at each other's necks and there were rumors that he wanted to bring in the county and the sheriffs Sheriff it's a pleasure to have these guys oh yeah you know because having you Police Department isn't all it's cracked up to be no you you for us is is one big thing is there's about 3500 um deputies you know so you bring somebody over and they're not a good fit because they they're good fit somewhere else simply just pick and you know and that's what happens a lot you know people you you get put where you fit the best and that's what if you have your own Department you can yeah no I mean it helps uh everything that's going on I mean the crime is low and then you know I know the cost of living I know the contract extension was a little more expensive but hey everything is more expensive but the most important thing is that we have continuity you know people know the problems here you know I mean you you put in a new officer it's just plug and play you know so it's um it's definitely a huge advantage that we have to have you all um you know representing our town I also want to recognize detective neis would you like to say anything you're good well I I do want to say something about the T she she uh we we we did meet recently and we discussed um the human trafficking awareness one and she was uh part of um some of the efforts that that we did um which is one of the items to discuss with old business and I can't thank her enough for for for putting me into that meeting talk about different initiatives and and how the Public Safety Committee can be involved in the sheriff's department okay old business we'll move on to uh the PSA okay so an update on the 305 for police so uh good campaign I've gotten a lot of positive feedback hopefully Amor getting more calls uh you know I think so but um unfortunately we had to the town had to take it down uh because now Sheriff's Department right or Sheriff's Office and there has to be some tweaking to that video so I've I've already You Know spoken to aani films which is who helped with the last one and I also spoke to the major so there might be you know um we might have to subpoena you again to a video I'm GNA say one thing if you're not in the video then that's it you have to be the that's my only concern I wasn't even supposed to be in the video and it dragged me into it but but yeah I think we might have to film the very end yeah like the verbage would have been the ver at the end yeah CU CL like we were saying it's like it's super long now what you guys what is the name sharers Department Miami Lakes see Miami day shar's office Miami Lakes Miami lak Municipal District my not alone to video by shirt um and what I was thinking was so towards the back towards the end right cut it off somewhere and then somewhere else just film a little bar a little part and then you know to flow with the with the video but it's not um because to to recreate that part with the lighting and exactly everything is it's harder just somewhere else it's just it it'll probably cut to another scene some like random b-roll and just the voice over yeah there you go there you go so what I'll do is that next meeting um I will um bring to the committee what needs to be done for a better set of quote from from G related to these changes but in this case do I have to make a motion for the change of the verbiage and I don't think he really should quote provide a quote I think it's a a quick fix that he can just do us as part of his edit I mean we we can request that okay you know yes um I'm guessing I you can help here um maybe keep what we've got and at the bottom where it's a prer type thing you just say you know this message brought to you by and and and or or somehow recognize that the name not so much that it's a change but that's where you could end it in writing just put it at the end this way you don't have to have more people filmed and all that other stuff okay no problem yeah I'm sure we'll we'll work it out so that it's easy and and it's a quick fix that doesn't doesn't um cost the committee um anything okay excellent so I'll I I kind of gave him a heads up already today but we'll go ahead and bring that up again now the same point the don't text and walk that video when we approved it I went back to guy and I said okay you got to add all the um you know the different Miami Lakes logos and everything El The Branding he found some things that should be improved um on the video so I think it's appropriate to show the video we have we have the new version just to make sure that everybody's on the same page with it what essentially what you did so I can remind you of what was done before was that he added the um subtitles he added it more clear at the end that the boy is the one that um is no longer with us so that's cool see I wish someone would have warn me emergency yeah hit my car right now what's your location um I'm walk I don't know I'm walk I'm about a car a woman and I think a child child she was on her phone and all made left are they okay hold on okay the woman woman's getting up respons didn't even see it Point home okay so I guess good think play C here I guess see anything wrong with that I'm gonna be very honest with you I see everything wrong with that video okay it's too Grim um it's very morbid um and I don't think it's something that you all want to be a voice with what you're trying to do because what you're trying to achieve is education and awareness and I think you get lost when you see the mother crying like immediately I already feel for her and I'm not what is the message it's don't walk while you're on the phone right just like don't drive and that message to me isn't there it's just a mother suffering because she's lost her son um I would I would really love for all of you to reconsider this video and make it more of an awareness campaign um because I've seen I've seen teenagers do this all the time um you know maybe I don't know it it's it's rough it's rough to watch um and I don't know if that's something that we would want to put on our on our pages does that make sense does everybody yeah I mean and and when you mean by an awareness campaign possibly coming up with some sort of a graphic to put on social media like stop texting and walking something to that extent because that's that's the I mean I know like this point got bought up because am World actually Witnesses at at the school where a lot of the kids are just attention I'm sure you see it you know all the time as well um so in this case maybe we need to go ahead just a suggestion is I agree with clarisel it the well I only want to spell the word the d a t part of it is there and perhaps um something on on the order of a teenager walking and a car coming around a corner and the kids got to stop and he's shocked into realizing he wasn't looking where he was going this way that can't help but the deat part uh isn't doesn't come into blaring at you but something on the order of of specifically what you're doing that's wrong which is walking with your head down and not paying attention in a car you hear the Screech of the the brakes you don't even have to show stepping off the curve and whatever just the screeching of the brakes and then him you know giving it one of these things of awareness that's my input that on that note when they're getting to the corner they're on the phone so long as they keep going and that's the simple one as we keep going a car that PS and oh my God what you know yeah that's it something something like that yeah cuz that's what's happened there it's that almost like oh my God I almost stepped on the curve I almost got out while the car was passing right that close call the close call right so I think and I'm sorry to interrupt I fot has a and I think it's a current um campaign that they're doing now it's called the put it down I think you prob seen it um that applies to people in in they're actually driving so I think piggy packing off of that and connecting that to people who are pedestrians and walking and Crossing intersections or you know maybe merging those two campaigns together and I don't know reworking this this video to to make it more about be aware of your surroundings be you know be mindful of what you're doing and not so consumed by your phone and you've got to be you know aware of your surroundings basically okay so let's do this I I I I'm going to make a motion to defer this to next meeting and maybe we can come up with some ideas to figure out um either a how to hit you back with the fot I know my any day County Public Schools is also doing a campaign as well um I'll keep the motion simple Mr furry and then we'll we'll discuss it next meeting and then we can come this okay I'll second okay all in favor I okay guys have it okay CL presentations for our friend hopefully it's supposed to be a surprise hopefully he's not missing but um Omar so I um thank you Isabella I submitted a request this is not a proclamation we have the plaque so we just wanted to use the council meeting at the very beginning just to hand it to him for his many years of service I got a confirmation email I think but is there any way we can just check to make sure that it went through good we are um what request you it was a proclamation link it was a proclamation link because sent it to me you just want the floor for that minute or two just to present with to take a photo with okay yeah we can follow up with the mayor's assistant who's yeah he's the one getting those now um since that position's been filled um we can definitely make sure that for February and it happens to be your your report so it actually works out for all right so I understand is this going to be one of those before council meeting in the corner of the room presentations or during a council meeting presentation it's up to the mayor um but we're going to request what you know what is it that you want and we'll I'm not crazy about those before the meeting things because you know what we show up we already know he's getting it we know what he's done I think it's important and then you hand in the plaque and it gets goes WR with him and nobody else knows and understands and gets to appreciate how hard he has worked for this committee he been on it a long time I think since Inception am I right yeah I think so I believe so definitely before me and I think before everybody in this room tell you the truth so um that's what I that's my input well the all the proclamations now maybe I I haven't been watching the meetings long enough but I know they happened at the beginning of the meeting at the beginning of the council meeting Council yeah well there's been some done before council meeting and I I don't care for that yeah because I don't think they do proclamations during the council meeting no yeah so they only do it at the beginning so he'll be part of that wave of proclamations that will be delivered that they he won't get a proclamation but he'll get a recognition nice photo of the family you know okay so that that's the update that I have for that 218 that's what we're pushing for and I already spoke to Kathy his wife she's aware she's just waiting for us to to call and date February 18th yes do you have a time um I believe the council meeting okay thank you okay now the next item is coffee with a cop December 13 Bernie asai I guess we can open up the floor to talk about it um but before we we talk about it just to give an update on the copy so the the committee was helping with the administration of the event in other words looking for uh locations where to have them working out a time working with the police department and working with the town on marketing now uh the police department uh sorry the sheriff's um office has has has pretty much approached um the town and they had a meeting essentially they they this is their event and therefore it's going to go back on their court now our involvement as a committee is going to be to support them so we will uh support them be uh uh showing up to those events and um I'm assuming that when they come up you know Amadore will give us uh an update on what's going on um I did you know um so I did I guess it's it's almost part of the update so I'll go ahead and get into it anyways they will there's some conversations about like for example the one that we did last time it was nice but the turnout from the public really wasn't there it was mostly elected officials you had police there um you know so obviously you know the public needs to get more to these events so because of that there's been some I think some you know the major and the sergeant sto has said and right now they're kind of like gauging May which is May is uh public uh police officer awareness mon I believe and also October will pour National Coffee of a copter okay so we can support them in any way if maybe we have a friend that is opening up a restaurant or opening up a cafe you know we can approach Amador and Amador can work with his support team uh but essentially that's the update that I have specifically to coffee with a Cofe so um yeah so that mean there what it says there coffee with a coffee 21st that's a no that's a enough okay so pretty much it's going to be because we were trying to do it every other month so just going to be twice a year and it's going to be run by them and they're going to do everything and then we pretty much show up essentially yes but they're they're open the biggest thing about the the the sheriff's the Sheriff's Office and and CLA can Echo is they they want to work with us it's not like hey no no they want to work there's a partnership with our committee and them they and they want us to be involved in this so what does that mean obviously showing up uh you know some of us have social media here I'm trying to get Nancy on Instagram hopefully she'll join soon um you know so so it's spreading awareness you know so they they want our support in that aspect talk to other businesses if again if you have a copy place in mind approach approach them their ears are open they want Community involvement they love it so essentially um that's the update that I have to that specific it and this is still going to have to be done Monday to Friday I'm sorry Monday to Thursday because sometime sometime when you do it on a on a Friday or Saturday or Sunday you get a bigger turnout because people don't have to go to work people are available and then if you put let's say on a Sunday or a Saturday just to throw something out there like in bakey Bakery like an activity like that on a Saturday the turn the turn people coming out going to be bigger than just doing it on a Thursday or Tuesday between 8:30 to 10: most people are already working so um the the only and that would be a decision that they would have to make because their Command Staff I believe I'm saying it correctly is on M fet okay so to get Amadore the major the sergeant all those folks that will be time that will be OT okay okay makes sense and if I can if I can add to that um I I and I don't want to speak for the major but the idea behind coffee with a cop wasn't to make it a huge event where you have all of this you know this huge group of people it's really to speak to the people that are already patronizing the the the coffee shop or or the business that we're at um it's you know a c a small cup of coffee with the the regulars that visit that Vicky Bakery or uh Sergio or um face over here kasavana yeah it it wasn't to make it and you can chime in if you agree um it wasn't to have this huge turnup no I'm not saying to a huge turnup but like for the community to meet their top that conversation like they don't have that opportunity on a daily basis that to meet the people that actually work in their Community put a name to a face okay this is a guy that if I need anything I see him that that type of relationship not that to be honest to put it like you said the last event it was us I'm sorry to tell you it was us us and the people that worked there nobody else there was not coming in people just to be like okay let me see let me let me meet you and what's going on why you work where you work what are your hours if I need something how can I reach you guys it was pretty much us all the police and whoever came from the office here to put a face in the crowd but that was it I didn't see any Resident any anybody that you see on a daily basis in those particular I will say something that I've noticed about the town and working in her place there's a big difference between working here and working at a at a district especially a very active District like in our Co North Side South District here on a daily basis I think the officers are more approachable in general and people normally if they have a question they they know a little bit more to hey let me ask a question mean I get approached 10 times a day maybe I have a face I don't know maybe but I know the other guys also get approach but you guys are approachable because even my daughter even my daughter she like look papy that's your friend right there and then she see you she say hi and the kids see you say hi because you guys are approachable it so that's one thing that I love by like you guys and I always tell them all of them like if you ever need something you know I'm a those go running and let them know and they'll take care of it but you know when it comes to that particular event to be honest so all the cop just to go have coffee and we can just take you guys coffee and donuts and be like here you go so the whole thing I see it is like the community can actually have an approach with with the people that serve the community so that's how I see it and those event the last event I think the only person that was not in this committee and not part of the cop was my wife because she went with me other than that it was the people that work there and all of us that's it the the Vicky Bakery uh National Cofe of Cofe was actually a good turnout they had a lot more people that showed up uh some of the folks from the other well was involved in so many things uh but we all had a good turnout because it was some at home school learning kids that showed up okay and that's what I said to myself I'm like you know what I I screwed up that my neighbor is really involved in Miami links with at home school kids and that would been an excellent vehicle but also I I'm part of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accounts we had a coffee with a CPA or cfeo with CPA the week before it was a terrible trip so December is just I think it's just yeah like I said on well has nothing to do the CPA are boring won take think Vicky Bakery lends itself more to like a a breakfast than as as I think is more like a have this conversation 8:30 in the morning he was still he was late 6 o00 morning yeah at the ice cream place one time uh it's also to do with with the location because when I went when we went there location location okay and they gave me one of those thing I just tast it I'm like can I have have to eect so the good news is that they're all ears you know so anything we come up with you know and we give it back to them and you know they can dissect it and figure out what's best but um you know so that's that's essentially coffee of a cup as far as that goes now moving on and before you move Carlos and I'm sorry to interrupt you again but the idea is to continue to have them on a quarterly basis um those two dates that you mentioned are are like high you know visibility dates for for cop National Coffee with a cop but the idea is to continue to do them on a coord basis all right okay okay all right well you have you have our full support so the other one coffee with with a firefigher that's completely well that's well here that is the next point so here here here here is so here is um with a direction because I get on the new kid in the block so I was getting schooled by folks um in town management essentially that is a new event okay so what that essentially is not that is a note is that we have to ask permission okay so that is going to be part of the item February 9B which is report to counsel so it's essentially we need to ask councel for approval for that event and the keyword is uh the town manager was you know very helpful as well and I commend him for you know and thank him for him and CLA taking the time to meet with me he word is sponsorship okay that we say that in the requests for whatever reason if there's a problem with sponsorship we also have a budget we can always going to that uh but nonetheless people are like the idea we had you know Miami Lakes G they what really interested sponsoring because that goes right into their audience go ahead no no no because you say sponsorship so that mean they that pretty much we guarantee them that it's going to be sponsored because you said we got a budget but if we do sponsorship that mean that we don't touch the budget for them they need to be sponsored that's correct but for for whatever reason what I'm saying is as a backup plan you know so what I'm going to recommend when we talk about 9B I'm going to say we're going to go to the town and ask for permission and state that people want to sponsor it well let's say they approve it based on the sponsor and then the sponsor doesn't come through no are we going to be able to use that byd for I don't know yeah does they approve the event right the idea is to approve the event and allowing you to recruit sponsors to host not that they're going to approve a specific sponsor no no not a specific sponsor but they'll be like okay I approve it as long as you have a sponsor for if you don't have a sponsor the event doesn't go through yeah you have to either present one or the other one or the other it cannot be both you cannot be like if we don't have a sponsor then we take care of it it have to be like if we don't have a sponsor the event doesn't go through that's how they're going to see it well I mean I defer to CLA so because in this case like I know for example is there an events line item in your in your budget we used to but then we kind of took it away because we didn't know the answer that now we're hoping that that's going to be the report to council is going to state that it's part of the the list so but you don't have any funding currently for we have our budget yeah line for so if you g to have you need to put a line and put $500 for stret of event or whatever the case may be and that need to be put in the in the budget that's specifi technically the event doesn't exist because we haven't add it we have an ADD so we need to allocate if if we're going to present that on February 18th we need to allocate funds for what we have the 4,800 or 4,700 something we need to go aign and be like okay getting ready for pres for presenting this to the to council we need to move 500 for this particular line for that particular event so we can tell them okay align this in our budget if the sponsor doesn't come in we have $500 allocating to take care of that irent beautiful thank you so there's zero zero dollars allocated to your events budget or do you not have a line item so we have so the the the current breakdown is $200 for Public Safety Committee uh Banner um breakfast police appreciation breakfast $4,000 we have edat Public Safety Committee 600 oh educationeducation yeah yeah and then we have zero for sure Public Safety Committee you don't have part of your part part of your request is to have them allocate not allocate I'm sorry to open a revenue account and an expense account so that you can accept donations and you can pay your your your vendors vendors okay right thanks for that so then what we'll do is I have the report to council I have filled it out with what I want to present to the group and we'll talk about it when we get to 9B but now we have some some meat you know based on this conversation so to talk about that one that particular item the moving on to the next item um 8 human trafficking awareness Mark okay so we did I I feel like um we made a nice impact at I me detective I think we did pretty good everybody was very receptive in the chamber we had uh glor Martinez uh she's um the head of a nonprofit and actually a human trafficking Survivor uh that spoke to the uh the chamber about her experience and um you know this gave us again a good opportunity the chamber was extremely nice and letting us get in we were not the key speaker we were able to get in for two minutes and say a little piece of us and people were very receptive again towards it and then um uh following up on the on the motion that we made last meeting we had a repost from the the Sheriff's Office uh she had a post related to human trafficking there was a room that they opened up in headquarters related to that so player cell group helped out with some verbiage uh that I provided them and did a repost of through the Instagram of my and I think was I think you were you went to the different hotels right and I was only able to to deal with one okay but they were very receptive as well and also with security guards um who were very um open to getting information and looking forward to helping out with that as well and I I don't know if Loria reached out to you she's also very appreciative and the connections that are made when you just you're in a place and you're with other people it's just the connections that you make are really it's just different you know and she was able to plug in with the um education and just a lot of people just good stuff happens when people come together like that so thank you thank you for no thank you yeah you're the one that was able to get a hold of her and you know some of the things that uh the detective me and we're talking about is that you know there's so there's events going on throughout the year that you know we can help out with you know the sheriff department and you know get people involved you know and and uh you know we have excellent opportunities via the town different events uh to make those touch points so um I'm I'm extremely excited about you know um you know what's up ahead now the one thing that I did not do last meeting is for the chamber I had to um register uh the neas and Gloria Martinez for the lunch and that was $45 a person I have the receipt somewhere oh yeah so what I'm asking the committee to do is a uh if you can pay me back $943 [Laughter] and if you don't want to that's okay I'll make a motion that we pay Carlos back I'll second you're all sharing in this the the committee or the individuals the committee because they they came on behalf of Public Safety to present to uh the chamber okay since you don't have align items to expense that you're going to have to put that in your uh committee report okay that's fine I will do that so let's drop the motion and then I'll put that in my report because I actually have it already in my report that I Dro that's perfect okay good so we don't need the motion no sir no motion well motion to add it to your report yes well in this case when I just discuss it my report because I have all the details in report yeah you need a motion for that I make that motion okay no no motion okay yeah so okay now moving on to the next item the 8f okay I got quotes for the maggots from one vendor okay so that one vendor which is also the vendor that did our coins presented this thing which you all should have a copy of okay so it's only this only this one the that's the same is so he gave us that is if we want to pick a th000 or 500 Mages okay so the price is there yeah um I'm providing it to you all that's what I have so far if you want to wait to get a p from somebody else or you want to free this one it's up to the committee subjection but um there it is I what I did work with him is um again this is not set on Stone if you all don't like the design we can change it and come back so pretty much if we get a th000 it's like6 more0 yeah Bab home where does that QR code take you I don't want to scan it without knowing it's the phone number another but does it pop up like automatically on your phone you just press and you call it goes directly to Amador Amador if they call me after four it's right now it's okay it's should come out should come out right right so um you know when he when he first did it I thought it was cool to put the Public Safety Committee logo in the middle you know and he at first he had it like super small for the magnets just a little you know so he made it a little larger for us I said Maxi can go with the you know losing it about losing it right and it's three inches obviously this is not 3 in I don't Maybe that's what I have for you all do I hear a motion for uh acceptance or defer I'll make a motion to accept looks pretty good we can make any change public safy committee the number at the bottom we could do that we can well isn't it on isn't it on the well if the logo were a little bigger you could see it was the public safety is g to mess up the right all I'm saying is if we don't do anything there's is something on there it's just kind of small and it gets lost in the uh rest of the picture so it all depends on how serious you are about the the other option that we can do and going through Darwin's Point similar to the way we designed the coin you can put at the bottom Public Safety Committee and then where it says 305 476 5423 just put 3054 police yeah keep it simple because there you're seeing two numbers I like that put this part here so this the 305 here right now and away I like that they don't matter he's 10et away I don't know what he's pointing at I was gonna point it at you oh you was gonna point it at you this is going to say 305 for police and then we're going to put PS in the bottom just PC Public Safety Committee Okay cool so we made a motion but you did have specify the quantity can I can I make a comment on yes please so as a late person I saw this and I really didn't know what it was and I think you need to be more obvious at the message that you want to for people to receive right so you want people to scan to call the non-emergency line I think you need to put that you know scan here to call the non-emergency line the non-emergency is too small okay um the red doesn't really go with the town branding I was about to say that that color that's why I ask the color because the color got nothing to do with the town but what she said and to her point I know this it's it's a circle but they have different different designs it can be like the circle but then on the bottom it you be like a like a base then you can actually put that scan for non-emergency as a message there so they put it in the door they they know okay this is to to call non emergency all right how about this to that to your point and clar cell's point at the top you put scan here on the sides nonemergency and then we leave the number here and then this color red um I don't know I'm trying to think of what's the color I don't think to be that big either but i' SC from across the you know even as small as that you know that that gold seal there and your phone will pick it up but to to to her point if you put it like that and it's going to come out too later and people are not going to see it because this is not the Eng this is like a five a five 5x six yeah this is more like four so so it's going be it's going to be like the the the red one so what's the size of the three in all around your paper in half that's that's four inches here so right because these are eight four and a qu yeah so the size of it is going to be and if you put like that you're not going to be able to read that right if you don't mind I I love for my marketing and Digital Services um a staff member to provide yeah so that it's within the town branding that provides the message that you all want to to to have out there um and we can provide the the committee a few options um motion for that no okay send can work on it yes be ready for your next meting you have you know we'll provide you know three or four options four op here okay so what I'm going to do is I'm going to make a motion to defer this item okay okay so we're going to defer this to next meeting okay I'll second that motion okay all all in favor okay I have it okay now the next item we have a resolution that establishes the Public Safety Committee all right I I've hand that that out to the group now this resolution I believe was established in 2009 and the last time it was updated it was in 2015 it really specifically is the duties on the back of the page which says that are the public safety shall work with local residents business police who organize and develop local crime watch programs and provide opportunities for public safety education and awareness I had some concerns I think some other members that possibly you know it needs to be changed you know I even sat down with again with the town manager and Claris kind of looked at this and you know it's it's General right um but it's not I don't think after kind of my obviously we're going to open this up to discussion I'm thinking which just leave it the way it is because I mean when when you when you have public safety education that encompasses both fire and police so I felt you know I mean here we are with the FD and last meeting we're talking about it now I'm opening it up for discussion um because obviously it you know if we do want to make any changes the next item on the list is Port C but we have now to add to that I know I'm kind of skipping order but the crime watch programs is something that is still existing okay that the major was telling me about that and the sergeant uh am I know they were saying that I guess you were gonna uh connect us with someone from the sheriff's office that you know how we can what are the requirements and kind of get educated to see how we can work with res the thing about the crime watch is that historically it's very simple because it's a a local group of people from the same neighborhood that want to have it and then The Branding is is is some of the magnets and stuff like that that that comes with it the problem is historically this group of of somebody's house gets broken into for your point that's it we G do a crime watch this is it bam bam bam 20 people show up we're going to have food at my house by the third month because they do one meeting every month the third month at the person's house no one shows up because you're really the one that got hit you're still into it and then no one shows up and then there's no more that's the same thing been happening lock or Los then they oh let's do it and then everybody goes first a few month what what if I may ask what is the purpose of meeting monthly to talk about the education part of just what's what's like uh like Detroit like Detroit remember I remember I I when we first moved into when I first moved into mes we lived in celebration point we got broken into my husband rallied the entire celebration Point Community and we developed this this the the crime watch and but I don't recall us meeting monthly uh we did create a phone B each building had a phone bank and we were just I guess more aware of you know our surroundings and had every like all of our neighbors phone number that we didn't have before we established and now you have like WhatsApp that that you can have your your chats stuff and that really works better than than having that monthly format you know maybe an update every month or something would would work better but we but that's the format that they always provide this is it um once a month like that's the format that they provide as the crime watch so you have the re you got to have you got to have that monthly meeting in order to be crime watch certified I don't think so I don't think it's a requirement because really everything is such a suggestion busy it's a suggestion this is not specific specific type of performance yeah and they didn't want to get singled out you know my house I'm the I'm the neighborhood snitch thing also yeah oh but it it's really everybody's snitch is the yeah the whole Community together everybody's yeah watch that's why the sign prim's the new executive director it used to be Carmen Caldwell she resigned or she retired excuse me has a new one been assigned yeah it's I gotta tell you their you are very good well that's active the crime they have a lot of very good information I actually saw it when I Was preparing with but you know I was hanging out thetive mus I got to you know step up to the place watch watch YouTube oh it's and it's every month we meet in theal and it's all the police departments that you know the everybody from the county all the police departments show up all the districts mostly show up talking about just crime watches so yeah no it's very extremely eff they have all tons of knickknacks and stuff that they provide Flyers a lot of the Flyers that I have that I take to the events are from them yeah so that that's where I kind of like it's funny I think everybody has that same old mentality of prime watch but maybe it's evolved to something different and that's what the major was saying that's why I said you know put me in contact so I can bring to the committee like what you know what we can do to help out um because like for me Prime watch is exactly what clo says I rounded all my neighbors up we have a WhatsApp chat that's crime watch hey what's going on this and that you see that car you call the non-emergency number that's CRI to I don't know what other departments you're supposed to have in place to have that certification if there even is a certification but I'm assuming at my point it would just be in the sign when you turn on my block da find Avenue PR much you're being surveillance well that's nice that you and your neighbors all speak at mine next door she won't say hello the other one she's working and she's up and out at 5 in the morning you have to get these people to speak to one another and if you don't do that and have a monthly meeting or whatever that thing's going to fall apart that's basically what I've got where I live yeah and and and you know what my my neighborhood was like that to a certain extent too and I said guys that's it and I was said no we got to talk to each other well somebody's got to break in with few houses to get some interest going over there and the only way you're going to get it done is you know people get annoyed and it we're 98 homes it's not going to happen or do what I did do polar bears for Christmas and everybody wants to do the polar bear in front of their house and we have a chat that's why I got heck is I don't I don't think I want yeah yeah we we get the polar bears and and that's how I got every to get involved why that well here you tell me as a Committee for Public Safety police and fire issues and whatever maybe we have some kind of a community thing and and have these discussions with the homeowners and what you can do and whatever and make them become more aware and if they are aware where and realize there's some group that they can get together to try to help one another right now they barely even say hello to each other in the morning but that's that's part of what what I'm saying is there something that we we could could have some kind of a and and those and that's and to that point there's something on the on I don't want to get ahead of myself but the port to council has something to that big S never mind that's what I I'll have that and we can you know as a good vehicle but as far as the duties anybody the one cross out the one that's out that's out yeah so with that 15 revision it crossed out everything else okay so if you guys are okay with what's on there we can we can move on to the next item okay all right we need to no because we're we're just revisiting yeah just just revisit because there's been some conversation so felt that you know it would be a good idea to talk about as a group okay now just before I start on 9B 9 C is not applicable okay I should have probably crossed that out but that's no longer applicative okay now report to council the report to council uh is 218 I have to have this to you by I guess it's the report the six itics okay perfect okay so essentially the way this works I think we've all seen this before quite a few times um as a group obviously we you know we should talk about what's going on now to clear ourselves point the budget only has like four items so obviously the budget needs to be um beefed up can I ask something this is the number for last year or this is the one for this year so current budget so so why they added the shirt for this year didn't you use that for last year bu no what happened with the shirt was that with the the way it was done it was done um incorrectly The Branding was incorrect for the shirt so the vendor took responsibility for it and just really got charged us for like one shirt okay and then you know I gave the shirts to everybody with the correct branding and that's the $89 you see on that budget that's action no it is okay okay so now the the whole idea we already discussed one item that you're going to open up a revenue account and expense accounts all right now the expense accounts are obviously um there's all types of different things that we've discussed in this committee that are not in our budget that we need to add um one of the ones to uh to keep it uh simple is we just discussed the magnets unless the magnets is considered educational material which I guess it can be M that's why we did that way okay the other item is the um that we just discussed is the chamber lunches okay so now I need to have a line item for chamber lunches now that line item I suggest that we have on online item at least 180 why am I saying that go ahead no no no I'll you yeah so what so the reason why I'm saying that is is because May is coming up and that's you know the law enforcement Mar for sure I you know Amador I mean we got to have him you know um you know be at that lunch hopefully he can make it you know and possibly someone else you know uh whether it's somebody else on the committee um or detective me is so that you can more or less gauge in your math that it's $45 ahead so if somebody else wants to come from this committee it might be a nice thing to come and see the chamber elction my question is when it comes to that I was going to do the same thing we did last year then instead of doing that breakfast one day we GNA go and do what we did fire and then police take them lunches and stuff well in this case keep in mind that event is still on on our appreciation breakfast on our budget so that's still something to to that is is part of this report but this is something separate okay so this is this is separate this is just the chamber just a chamber this a chamber and this is for something that again a great opportunity for anyone that wants to join to go up and show up and trust me they were very receptive they have youever been to a chamber there and you'll like it and tles in charge fact they do spread so you're not even allow so so um that line item is now 18 if we want to increase it a little more so maybe put it to 360 in case somebody else wants to show up you know out of this committee to represent us for that day because the whole idea is you know presence to show that we're there as a committee supporting a c um and that might be um you know there might be other events that possibly won't we want to go to like for example we want to ad I an event that we might have in the future perhaps we want as well so we want to keep that at 180 or you want to double it at 360 increase it motion to increase well in this case let's wait for any motions till the very end because there's a bunch of line items we're g to put on so you're you're reducing which line it make sure that when you're doing this motion that you're reducing one line item to supplement that new line item correct yeah so what I did is here I broke it out in the paper and how I wanted so that's yeah so that so I'm saying 360 for that and you're taking that 350 from where from the breakfast but you adding it requesting that on top of what we have you want 350 more well no I can't I can request more because the bud yeah right where you take it off no I'm G to take it well I think in order for for it to be you know this this presentation to be um sorry in order for it to be you know kind of easy to follow I say let me just throw everything on the piece of paper and then you it and then we'll just say hey this is going to come out of the $4,000 okay so 360 for chamber lunches now the PSA like CL said g can probably fix it you know the little edits real5 for police but if there's any other PSAs that we want to roll out during the year do we want to allocate anything to PSAs this would be last PSA was $500 okay because do some okay all right so then line item for PSA we're looking at 750 okay all right now the the next item is the uh on my list here is the coffee with firefighters we have someone lined up for for the first one for sponsorship but when we do the other one we might not so that's what I was talking about like if you go to them and tell them we don't get a sponsor It Go from our budget so then we need to determine how much would without be or for an event for I say like two hours how an estimate will be and then we need to allocate that if we going to prend okay we want to do a help with a fire right because what you're telling me I'm going to get a sponsor but if I don't get a sponsor we we running with the bill right okay and how many of these are you going to do a year how many of those you going to do a year you're going to do each one quarter it's it's up to this committee what you all feel is is correct you know it's it's really remember this is the first time we do this you know it is based on what do you think so based on our last conversation so there's there's three shifts there's an a platoon platoon Charlie platoon so I believe we had agreed inity right but to do let's say one month we do aship the following month so every three months and then every three months correct ABC first three months and then again ABC so that's I believe that's what we have right so we're talking about once a quarter yes okay which that's similar to what you know which I think it's reasonable logistically I think it's every month is a lot so if we don't get a sponsor we need to determine how much each one of those puppies going to cost I don't know I have no idea well what are you what do you $1,000 think $1,000 in Coffee Starbucks the mobile coffee shop are little more expensive because they're actually going to you I don't know maybe you I mean maybe you Isabella no how much more less you guys but what what it so the idea is to invite the community to go to the Firehouse right to the fire and pl I don't know what that service I don't know I mean a couple of pares of coffee from Starbucks is it's not even 100 bucks that's true I mean I don't I don't think bringing out a mobile coffee is I mean I don't you can justify the and it doesn't have to even be Starbucks you can go to dunin Donut you can go to Micky Bakery and get each one of those things of I think it's $35 because I've done it for for work I I buy like two of those with witha andito and you go and and I'll tell you right now a lot of times you just mentioned like Vicky Baker they they love to help to help you so big house as well so so in other words so yeah I was on the high horse um let me get down let me let me ask it because I was approached by the mayor's assistant today that someone from Miami day fire had reached out to them to do something similar to open house I don't know if it was an open house they're calling it Medics for something I excuse me I don't remember the the term um and they mentioned that they have funding for this so if you reach out to the fire station they make have funding for for coffee so typically or for something you know commun Community engagement I worked at a station one for almost 10 years and I remember we would have an open house call it back and we would basically it was same thing we try to keep it maybe once every six months maybe once every three months and I remember we would go like on duty I remember going a big these Bakery hey this is what we're going to do you know would you like to donate and they like yes sure so we would basic basically you know what going back like 10 years ago whatever yeah social media was kind of so and we would always have good turnouts yeah you know and then same thing people would come over the station let say it was on a Sunday between 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. and I mean there were even places I remember having bounce houses in back parking lot and it was fun and people actually got to know what you did and you know whatever fire department and so but yeah she's right so there is funding so we might be able to tie in to that that's because if they have that's something we can figure because they want to use our money if there they've already done it with their expense account no we we don't know that we don't know just finally identify if they do have L and if they are doing it just let's back off of that and help them promote it CU we haven't been doing that you show but I would do it if we're going to do it that way then they let's say it's going to cost $1,000 they do 500 and we do 500 they're going to say yes to us if they if we're going to finance the whole thing and I think that's wrong if they've been doing it already and financing it themselves I think the it never but what she was trying to explain is if they already have that in place for us to go and tell them look if you guys do that we can we can join together and we can be here and promote and but it's your event and we just hear it for I also was you know approached by the mayor's assistant through email so it's morning with Medics that they're discussing I was waiting to we talk to this uh for the Comm report so basically it's with a firefighter that the mayor is discuss using with and it's a laidback type of event is language they use um educational initiatives de classes safety resources as a discussion so it's informal kind of similar idea with the coffee with the cof with firefighters they're still working on it so there's not you know concrete details yet but like their play saying can pay you back off of this event already is there any way that you can Loop Us in so that we go over them yeah I was waiting for elections to take place first so can excellent yeah okay so plus the fire department is going get better you know C of course they bring out the calendar the guys on the calendars and so other words deput left yourself that is very true so are we are we saying that we don't need any line item for money for this I say we defer we defer but the thing is we cannot defer because our meeting is going to be after let's work on the item funding so that they so that you can in this activity okay there you go but the line wait still got oh yeah the whole there's money involved yeah it's a hold report yeah you give it to us we'll spend it into the next one is uh the 911 event which you know uh we participated in last year the veterans committee was nice enough to uh donate the uh arrangements okay but you know if we're hosting the event we should be doing that this year there's also someone that speaks that speaks that sings a national anthem we paid for that so that also needs to be allocated and then Vicky Bakery and B's Bak house were nice enough to um to donate last year but they might not I think they will but they might not um again there some conversations uh from some of the Town residents I showed up that day and said hey what happened to Veterans Park Veterans Park you know and you know that was a decision that the veterans committee made and we just followed what they had set up already now the reason why the veterans committee did it here is because the flags is is is is an undertake you know to put all those flags down but that might be something that we might want to take it back to V committee but nonetheless when it comes to report to council since that is before the fiscal year ends we do need to allocate something to that event I'm proposing we allocate $500 to that event but the singer $200 and I think the arrangement is I think hundred something dollars as more so just to Ballpark that's what I'm okay um oh well on that specific item yeah then the the next thing is the um the plaques remember we have the annual recognition for the police fire and fire you ever take I think that was $300 last time I think we should put at least $300 and then you have the appreciation lunch which we did last year that we visited the fire department and the police department that was about $1,500 um that might change we might want to come over with a different idea but for now I think that we should um in fact you know what I'm going to put a dollar to that because that's going to be the catch off that the $4,000 is there right now so that is the balance and that's going to be the more the most economic feasable thing doing it did last year delivering that we don't have to wait food because we do it a lot of people get left behind and the way so right so now we got to get theob a new polo okay so that I'm assuming is $40 for a new polo I have no idea would I one you medium so if you okay now the we have to discuss several things um about so you have initiatives and events we pretty much discussed them but to go into future projects this is where it gets fun uh the prime watch I think it we should find out what it is you know because it might be good like the major was saying when you show up to a guard gate how can we get that Home Association involved so they can have a primal off sign there that might be good for them campaigns throughout the year there might be things that come up that we want to piggy back on for campaigns um the coffee with the firefighter we already discussed it um that you know we're going to ask for permission for that the next one is we're just going to let them know that we're parting with the police department for coffee of a cop and then also we need to help out and come up with ideas for National light out National light out was a national failure last year okay it was pretty much four people five Okay so we got to help them out to figure out how we can make that of them better okay so um then the last one this is something new that I brought up several meetings ago that I want to add to the support as long as we all have a motion if you agree with it I I I I go to car shows and they bring out a huge Crow okay um this would be the idea I just half would be a car show in October okay uh the reason why I say October is because it should be a little cooler than other times of the year should be I don't want to go into November because November you have the veterans committee December you have the holidays and all that fun stuff I mean we can we can play around the dates but nonetheless the idea of this car show is which is an undertak is to have it I picture it as a field day like I remember I think it was Field Day in Miami Lakes Elementary now k through eight I remember that you know cops used to come out no sorry career day I apologize career day cops used to come out with their coolest toys fire used to come out with their coolest stuff and it was an opportunity to educate the public um you know with that I know that Amador has expressed yeah hopefully I still have your support or we still have the support for this event uh the fire department we spoke to the the new battalion chief and he was supportive about it uh so the you know the the vision that I have is obviously cars for cure is is a monster he's very good at what he does and that event is very well run this will be a little bit of a Different Twist because it will be cars people love car shows you know you'll have some involvement with some uh vendors that show up for food uh then you have obviously the police and fire there now uh something that the major brought up up you know when you have the Command Staff those guys are off on the weekend like I said earlier in the meeting so you have to pay OT you know that has to come from our budget that we pay their ot to come out and support the C all right obviously the firefighters will be you know who's on ship that day unless the Balian Chief you know would obviously want might want to come out um but you know the location that I thought might be a good idea and and again I don't know if this has to be in stone was Park um has 220 parking spaces uh you know which I feel for a decent sized car show you know might be kind of cool there a lot of logistics involved a lot because you have the soccer I think has you know you got to be careful because October there's a lot of soccer going on in yeah so not and if you put all the cars in the car show cars in that parking lot and I come along with one my chromy little need to pay J car where am I going to park well have the they and again there's a lot of logistics with this event you know the whole idea of this report to council is to ask for permission and you can correct me if I'm wrong to ask permission for the event we're asking well in advance and all the logistics will be worked out as time goes on right by the same token I I would plan a little before you ask for ask for because to be honest that part perfect that's next to my house and I know this no but but but the reason I'm telling you is because I know this between August September and October there soccer there every Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday in the morning and sometime even every Monday they have soccer there and then when they have soccer there I can tell you right now you're not going to get a space to park anything like you see them park on the street stuff so you need to have that logistic if you're going to do it in October there's nothing going on for that particular day and then what she said if you're going to have that full a car for the car show where the the people they going to go going to park because here if you're doing a Main Street you have parking all over the place that you can allocate and then in the street they park the cars something that we should take on consideration too the location the day and everything around it the rest of my question is our car show how is it going to differ from cars for here so this is I feel like to do two there's car shows no but you can do two car shows because different towns have different car shows for different event it's not Title One to the other because one the car for p in in April and this was going to be in October so it's two different completely different time time of the year and you can actually allocate okay this one is hard for cure because of that particular reason and this is our car show because we want to put this out there that that was my point I just don't want to compete yeah it's not a competion friends no no no it's not a comp there two different events and people would enjoy both of them because close to one another that's one is in April and this one if we do it is is in October like six months down the road so yeah and get a calculate the fee for their overtime and then we're also going to have to have the regular shift there you know because they got to protect the people attending they yeah well that was the Major's point that you know you know that technically the guys that are working that day have to be working so the guys that are there for OT would be managing the show so the regular cops will be on the doing their patrolling but you know the deputies that where paying OT will be there in person that adds up no the Major's level in the officer's level it adds up right now keep in mind this is this will go ahead I'm looking at the the lines on your face you're you're squinting and it looks like you're saying you're about to say the guys that are on duty at our event on Main Street or wherever they're supposed to be answering calls I don't understand how you can put the two together and then have to pay you have to pay the guys coming in because that's the thing that people are on duty and they're working um the thing too that we have to look at now is with the sheriff because it's it's always been I a um a request equipment we get it we don't get it but now how how the how we're requesting the equipment might actually change but I I don't have that information we're kind of like updating everything like daily so I really need to have that information for you guys and there's a quarterly um and know you never resources um meeting that they're that they have and that's where I wanted to ask what are we doing with that and that's coming up show right I mean you're going to let go of a lot of money quick well the the whole there goes you 4800 well the the whole thing the so P record U this will be a new fiscal year line so we're purely going to council to ask for permission yeah to have right that the idea was Roo Park if it's not Roo park it would have to be a different location but my concern is that if we say okay no I'm not going to ask for permission now and I'm going to ask for permission when I go again or when we go again which I believe is in September we can't do the event because the event will be the following month right unless I take the position or take the opportunity of another committee and present in the summer again and ask for permission again in the summer but the idea and the logistics I feel that as a committee I think that we should ask for permission that's that's my opinion it doesn't guarantee that we're going to do it just get the permission just get the permission to look into it and I can state that when we at Port to CC right CLA Sol and I I think you should warn them that you will be requesting funding at the next for the next fiscal year for this event and have an idea of what it's going to cost you to put on this event so that they already have it you know front front and center perfect perfect yeah I mean and just and and just so you all know like some of the stuff that the biggest is the OT you know that's the biggest charge the other the others um I was talking to uh the Sergio Diaz who helps out with carcer cure and I was kind of getting ideas from him he's now the uh the chief for Sweet Water and he was saying like look you know some of the things you got to consider is like you got to have fire sers you know these are hot rods you know or something might happen so you got to have Fire EX available fire there right so you know those are the kind of things now the vendors that obviously you want to have some type of food there right nothing too crazy but some type of food to eat so that is that shouldn't come out of our pocket you Food Truck Yeah I was about to say we can just reach out to a few food trucks and be like we don't have an event want to participate right we're not going to pay you whatever you make go straight to you and that's it right for for the food trucks and any type of other Carnival eventss and stuff like that we do have from family FS that have been working with the town with other events reach out to him and you have a One Stop Shop place and it's a person that's already been doing events with the town so that's an easy one for that that part you guys and they know how to uh mitigate it so that um a lot of times there's actually no cost for the committee because they they figure out their cost a different way and right um based off of uh of of show how many people show up right but that would have to be yeah and to your point Nancy you were saying about Community involvement that's where this would come into play because if we have a a captive audience as like what the sergeant Soto likes to say a lot you have it there and you know whole idea of us having a booth and wearing our polos is like hey you know neighborhood chats make sense if we get information more from the crime watch you know how can you do that those are that's going to be an opportunity and we have to you know see opportunity so that essentially is my report to counsel that and I'm going to repeat it now to make sure everybody's on the same page um with the line items and again we're asking for permission to look into to the car show um and I think folks will be excited about it you know I mean they have you know I I go to a lot of town events and I see other committees put some nice events together you know and it's just us you know like you said using that gentleman that has already the connections and then making sure that everything else makes sense so I have the following uh chamber lunches 360 uh 3054 police magnets um I don't have to that's already in the educational material I have uh PSA um PSAs $750 91 event $500 PL recognition $300 the balance will stay for now in the um in the breakfast police appreciation okay and then I will be asking for a line item for revenue and expenses for these new items and the expenses and the revenue for sponsorships and our future initiatives are citizens crime watch campaigns throughout the year post copy with fire fighter was Private sponsor um uh partner with uh police for cop cop and National night out and permission for the car a long motion but essentially I'm assuming what you can make is I'm put allocation of funds I'm not I'm not gonna get break it down specifically I don't think motion to to adopt a committee
