##VIDEO ID:HhfjlsWIFac## all right good evening we will now call The Joint business and calendar meeting of CCD 75 to order at 609 p.m. Miss Butler can we have a roll call without throwing you on the spot I know please forgive us our AA um is no longer with us miss Butler are you prepared for the roll call yes I'm ready thank you okay you have the floor um we will call a roll call uh Christine I'm sorry I'm just I'm just really tired today understand I totally get Angel Andrea Daniel is she on present hi Andrea christe mon present Vanessa barrero no Vanessa no Vanessa no no Vanessa Jessica present and Shen Johnson present that we have five present two two present in everybody else's virtue yes so that gives us uh five members we do not have Quorum with that being said this will be an unofficial meeting however we still do have members of the public that is able to observe with that being said uh we will give the floor over to our Spanish interpreters for your instructions Spanish complete thank you so much banga you now have the floor to give your instructions Bengali announcement is over thank you so much Mandarin you now have the floor to give your instructions okay the following id M thank you thank you so much with that being said council members we're going to uh let me see if I can screen share really quickly so we can go through some items is everyone able to see the agenda um should did I make this any bigger is this okay for everyone the fact that I see it so to run through this quickly council members um we for our business side of the calendar we are unable to run through the budget adjustments and things of that nature however I do want to bring it back to everyone's attention that without an administrative assistant we still have $2 200 $2,000 that is on our Purchase Card line item in addition to about 500 other dollars that we can move um this is something that we can take offline and continue offline to discuss since we are not able to um make any level of votes so if council members would like to see a budget breakdown and what it would look like to move those funds around I can send that out and then we can look into voting into that on um November how do members feel about that does anyone have any um naysay against are we okay with receiving the breakdown of the budget via email so that we can be prepared for November that's that's fine with me okay and um I did have the discussion for legislative breakfast dates this is something that can also be offline but I just wanted since we can't vote um I'm not sure um if chair Butler has any dates in mind if not that is something that we also can lift up in November and just continue working offline chair Butler yes we would normally normally we would do it in March but you do have the Liberty to pick a different time that you like to have it with the council and we can all support and do those things and we can talk about it um at a later date in a committee meeting or just on email and that would be if that's okay with everyone and Miss chair Butler we can do that that's fine we can um talk about it at a later date in a email okay we will do I will do that um in regard to discussion for presenters does anyone um while we're here all together does anyone have any ideas for presenters that you want to either come into our calendar meetings to speak to parents or would you like any assistance uh in regard to our committee meetings I know we had some stuff going on with the middle schoolers we have things going on um with our different children whether they're verbal non-verbal or things that are going on at the schools even regarding busing Etc do we have any level of presenters that are currently at the top of your mind that you guys want to put forward so that we can reach out so that they can come to our calendar meetings to present if not I am totally okay with moving this on to I already had um I think I don't know I don't know if I reached out to the whole Council but I know I reached out to you um in regards to having a presenter for November for the um CI unlimited um program for the students with disabilities I think it was that was for November scheduled for November I believe yeah the new programs for students with disabilities CI programs and it was another one to teach students how to drive for free I didn't reach out to The One how to drive the one that we did get C from what's unimited okay so we do have someone for November so we should be thinking about what we may want to put on um or at least have available uh for our December meeting but I do want to do really quickly just so members are aware I'm switching over the screen that I'm sharing does it show my um our meeting dates yes yes it does yes so this is what we're looking at guys that we have to be able to vote on on which we cannot as of yet um we're going to put forth our bylaws um amendments it's supposed to be in a calendar meeting even though this is unofficial technically we do still have to have a calendar meeting as a council so we can put forth what we want to have as changes and then vote for these in November but currently we will only have one two meetings in November because we were not able today to make them joint so that would mean we have a meeting on the 6th and we have a meeting on the 20th and November 20th would be the meeting where we can make the adjustments to the bylaws and then make the remaining meetings possibly um joint meetings I will still say as we're um having a little bit of issues with Quorum we do have two people um who were willing to put in applications to apply for the council and um for the general public that's here we do have vacancies and we are pushing uh to have public Advocates and to fill in about three more seats on the council so with that being said council members just look at our dates and look in your calendars and see what may work for us to do our meetings jointly because we'll be able to vote on that for um for December with that being said those were the only spaces on our business meeting that we were going into uh so uh we will now call the business meeting adjourned at 6:19 p.m. unless we have any other feedback from our council members if not we will call the October 16th um 2024 calendar meeting to order can we have a roll call please chrisy Angel present Andrea Daniels present chrisy montal pres Vanessa barrero Jessica Rivera pres shenique Butler again we do not have Quorum so this is an unofficial meeting in order to continue to save time I do not believe that our superintendent is here yet so we will move forward if the council um is of the same mind frame that we review the two motions that we'll be voting on in November to save time prior to the uh superintendent showing up with that being said let's see for our standing committees we want to add this language into our bylaws um simply for the fact that there are no descriptions in the bylaws and so for future members that come through the council they may not know what to do with a committee per se because there is nothing in the bylaws so for the committee on Outreach they disseminate information publicize the counsil information and other relevant issues I don't want to be uh belabor um the point we can also put this online members do have access um to the information uh so with Outreach we do do the annual year uh celebration and service the annual report committee issues a report on the effectiveness of the new New York City Department of Education with providing services to District 75 students we make recommendations for improvement uh with Consultants District 75 parents Educators and programs and we recommend these CH changes to the chancellor and when necessary we recommend legislative changes to New York State statutes the committee on bylaws creates and maintains basically the bylaws of the council and that we are ruled by with our operations and activities and we can outline um our policies and procedures and this is something where we get together and look at what works for our Council and what could work for us in the future with busing uh this is districtwide It's a uh advisory oversight over students using all modes of transportation other than Transportation provided in a parents private vehicle we work with the Office of Pupil Transportation we give out information relating to different issues with guarding the chancellor rules regulations and we advocate for our parents and our caregivers the committee on we promote and review Aid in maintaining measures that will fortify the health and safety of District 75 students parents and staff the Safety Committee is charged with providing guidance and resources to support the whole child the committee on capacity and utilization some of these we actually do not have active currently but that does not mean that they cannot be active once we do have a fleshed out um Council the purpose of the capacity and utilization they review Citywide statistics uh sta statistical information put out by the NYC Department of Education these statistics are viewed with the Doe's division of space and management and the needs and goals of District 75 schools now we do have information that we can go ahead and send back out to all of our council members so that you are aware of what the utilization of District 75 looks like right now if we do have any members that do want to you know jump into this and possibly chair or have more information about the committee let us know and we can also share out so that you can see what could possibly be needed on our end the committee for curriculum familiarizes and empowers District 75 families to understand current curriculum taught in their students programs and off sites uh for workshops and things of that nature the committee on legislation they basically support the council by arranging public hearings providing the legal and policy based research needed to make decisions that benefit District 75 students and schools the legislative committee will keep itself informed of pending legislation on federal state and local levels affecting special education students in the operations of schools and programs and will actively communicate its concerns to the council and we do have chair Butler who H has been working on that who helped us with our legislative breakfast on last year and we will be standing in support of her to do it once again for this school year lastly we have our committee on inclusion I do believe um council member Rivera you may have wanted a different uh edit which can be perfect which is perfectly fine we'll be voting in November and you can add that possibly to the email thread and we can vote on the one that you proposed um do you have it in front of you would you like to read yours versus what's uh present I don't have anything in front of me today thank you so much for the opportunity right now oh no you're welcome so basically for the committee on inclusion which we love uh our new member Jessica Rivera she has planned out a lot for the year she has a lot of ideas uh to come in and stand in the gap for our students and parents who are in schools that are uh collocated inclusive and things of that nature and basically we're going to support diversity equity and inclusion and I'm going to leave this edit alone because I do want to give her the opportunity when the time does come to vote that she gets to put her language um in front of that additionally there was one other give me one second our stand in we have our meeting minutes but we really can't go through that um but do familiarize yourself um with the votes with the notes uh that uh recording secretary Butler did um send out that's attached to our email with the file folder I wanted to pull the language up for our bylaws here we go are you guys able to see this screen okay so for our bylaws Amendment recommendation that we're looking to vote on in November it's under Section 7 rescheduling meetings and right now it says in order to ensure ample notice and minimize inconvenience to the public the council shall make every effort to adhere to the schedule of meetings set pursuant to article 3 sections 1 2 3 and four if it becomes necessary to reschedule a calendar meeting due to inclement weather or other emergency a new day shall be set by the president co-president after consultation with the council and the new date shall be included in the notice of cancellation of the scheduled meeting to the extent possible the new date shall fall within the same calendar month the amendment that we're looking to add is the council shall have the authority to combine business and calendar dates within the same month as outlined in these bylaws to address changes in operational needs thereby allowing for joint meetings do we have any feedback um from the Council in relation to that amendment is there any other wording that may need to be shared right oh I think we forgetting one thing we also had I thought discussed to amend the time frame of the meeting as well because it has said 6:30 and we've been doing it at 6 um so we would put um with language that joint meetings will start at 6 6 p.m. to accommodate business what do you guys want to say there to accommodate the business of the council I would say to accommodate the business of the council I don't know about everyone else um but we we've been doing the meetings at 6 but the the previous bylaws didn't say 6:30 right so if we don't change our meetings and we go by our bylaws our business meetings and our calendar meetings will start at 6:30 p.m. only in the space where we do joint meetings will they start at 6 pm to accommodate the business of the council are we able to update the language where regardless of what it will be with stay at 6:30 to avoid any confusion where you know for example some are 6:30 some are 6 you know just keep it 6 um yeah I wanted to add that too because I thought we had said we was going to try to keep all the me at 6:00 but just change it in the B not just the joint meetings that's what I thought we originally said I don't recall but I'm not opposed to any of it um for the members that are here how do you feel about all meetings starting at 6: PM versus 6:30 I think 6 is a better time especially with you know the traveling parents because we do got to get back home yeah so everyone is in the mind frame that the wording that we have here for the 6 PM start and then we'll go back as well um let me make a note um 6 PM all meetings and then I'll go type this a little bit better for everyone else so this is something that we do want to pull up together so that we vote on this so that all meetings start at six o'clock and now we have the power to vote and make joint meetings joint that are business and calendar everyone's on that same mind frame okay so with that when I with that being said I'll make sure that all members have um that information and okay so we reviewed those items do we have any um updates from the president's Council and or from DLT well D I don't know about President's Council but DT um we had our first meeting early earlier in October I forget the date but we were just going over the DP again and then we have a new person that took over for Tammy Stern because she had um retired and there's a new person that's going to be doing the DP with us that took her place and she retired so we getting to know that person we got introduced to that particular person and we're basically don't have the full calendar dates yet for DT but um so far we just had one meeting that was it was only virtual because we gonna have to I think change some stuff in the B LW again I was told so it was virtual for the uh October meeting but it probably won't stay only virtual we'll probably do a couple inperson ones too but it has to be voted on and and changing the B laws that's the thing but on DT um and there's a lot a couple of new members too so I'm not familiar with everybody yet because some of them are like brand new members okay do we um um vice president monan do we have any updates that you might be able to give from president's Council yes the um next meeting is tomorrow at 6 PM actually um and that's on Zoom I'm trying to get the link so I can post it in the chat for anyone who wants to join okay perfect um with that being said I'll jump into the report of the presidents this is um pretty short um with our school visits guys um I don't see if we have the superintendent here yet but with our school visits oh we do um I know that um I spoke with superintendent lisant um before and he was saying uh during the month of October he did want to try to get in some uh School visits prior to to some of the principal observations that they'll be doing so we do want to keep members mindful of the time that they are available if it's in the mornings we would love you to go with our superintendent or with the deputy superintendent um to do some of our school visits additionally um Christian one moment sweetie he's singing forgive me guys if we could also work um offline with our d75 reps because we will need them to do some school visits as we're doing capacity and utilization within our different schools um as members know we did send out a collocated uh Anonymous survey to our principales PTA parents and parent coordinators um we do have information rolling in with that I would like to speak with council members to see how you would effectively like to distribute that information or if we would like to have a special meeting and or Incorporated in um our November meeting with the findings and things of that nature but with that being said if we do have uh members who do have availability we would love to um start moving you through the process of working with the district to do some of our school visits now the uh joint public hearings we um legally are required uh to attend those generally myself and co-president Daniels we do attend we do want all of our members if you have the availability we want your voice there because as you know we're having a lot of schools either opening or merging or being truncated and we want to be the ears and you know voices of our parents you know as they speak we need to be able to listen to what the district is saying what the schools are saying what the parents are saying so that we Advocate um correctly and in unison with the correct voice uh with that being said there is a joint public hearing tracker that our old AA had started so I'll do my best to update that we do forward those to the council members so if you see them feel free to respond if you're able to attend we would love that we love the representation some of you know your barels better than some of us so please do show up uh to speak on behalf of your parents I'll be trying to email that out within this week or on tomorrow possibly um let's see we have the include uh Fair that's going to be happening in February and I know that we agreed that we want it to March however we want to go ahead and push this onto um our November agenda to see if we actually want to pay to table how do any of us feel about actually participating in a space where we would be tabling do we have any feedback last I know we didn't we do this last year so we have done this multiple years this would last I think it was virtual the tabling was virtual last year wasn't it okay so I'm speaking about this year so this year in February it's actually going to be in person so there's only two seats available um for us to um basically do the work I don't think that's a bad thing we can have one person or two people roaming the floor where we're giving out information and directing people to the table um as we've done many times before um in Outreach it would just be a point of discussion as we do need to create a purchase order to pay um the $300 to be able to table if that is something that we want to continue to do last year we paid it via our purchasing card and since we don't have one any longer we have a a couple of different steps that we would need to take if we do decide to table um that's just something to think about do we have any other feedback um regarding that at this moment in time if not so the in person is that in in Manhattan what burrow is that yes it would be in Manhattan uh hold up let me pull it up we have it the email has been um forwarded out to the council but I can pull it up uh to see so this is going to be hold on we had to fill the form out before the 7th which we did fill out an interest form but we did not um do anything with tabling so this will be it says the first time in five years I think it's February 3rd but I don't see it in the actual email that rich Let's see February 1st to 2005 10:30 a.m. to 300 p.m. and it's going to be at the Tish skylights at the shed at 11 Hudson yards so that'll be on the west side this looks like 30th Street 30th Street and 10th Avenue I would be willing to be present okay um if we do have someone I honestly I can try to make that happen so I'm honestly willing to just give us a yes if other members want to be a part of that as well then we can discuss in November if we can go ahead and get the purchase order out so that we can go ahead and hold our place okay um so we'll go ahead and uh get that ball rolling on the email and also just a couple of things I went to speak at a Hollywood and mind event where they were speaking about using pop culture to amplify mental health and awareness and there's a couple of spaces that I think is really great um from the president of the National Association of Mental Health Institute from the president of the Tourette's Association there's one record label and another uh venture capitalist that's look interested in working with our schools and helping bring awareness and looking into what funding could look like so I think it's really great for us to continue to get out meet different people even if it's in um the different disability uh councils in all of our Burrows there's a lot lot of resources that we don't want to accidentally miss out on because we aren't connected so as we continue to move let's um try to keep some relationships going if we do have relationships that we can pass forward to other members which I may do that to members who are able to do a little bit of work on the side um that would be great so that we can continue to keep some of these conversations moving and or pass them up to the district to expand them and with that being said I have a couple of reminders on October 30th we have toilet training tips and tricks uh this has been a little bit of a push it's been extremely hard to find people that can do um toilet training for our children who have sensory needs and things of that nature we do have naen mayor who is willing to come in for um a oneoff uh on Wednesday October 30th from 12: to 1 to 1 oh lord I can't speak 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. we're going to have a lunch and learn so that we can work with parents with children if you're just learning how to potty train or need help with toilet training and there will be uh some tips for older children um as well as we move through this we're hoping to have an additional training that will be separately for older children versus some of the needs of our younger children we do have this on our social media and our website so do feel free to um register and join for that particular meeting on top of that we we have our parent support group on the 24th and for some reason I'm not seeing that um but I'll put it in the chat uh once um we turn this over to superintendent lisant October 24th we are having our second parent support meeting we will be having a licensed social worker from yai and this meeting will focus on our parents who are single and who may need some different varying levels of support we do have have a social worker coming in to structure us and to also we will also have free speaking um for our parents this isn't something uh that's recorded once we get to the space to allow parents to be able to freely speak and or get support from each other and that will be at 6 pm on October 24th council members we do have 140 resumes that have come in before we go to the resumes can I comment on um the one you just said about um the support group absolutely yes so the focus this time is only going to be on tips for single parents this is not going to be the focus for every support group is is only this one no no no we're going to have different focuses and different things that when parents ask us such as the toilet training that's why we're doing the workshop because we were asked um when we did our last meeting someone brought up single parents so we're trying to listen to what our parents are asking us for and we will have some freestyle meetings as uh council member Rivera uh brought up we're going to have our our meetings once a month where we're just going to you know talk and come online and just you know fellowship with one another without structure um and in our meetings you know we don't always have to be super structured but we do want to make sure that we are giving our parents a level of support as we do the meetings as well but yes they will change topics this is not just a for single parents only we have moms and dads grandparents and things of that nature our group and guardian so we are open to all and uh with that being said we do want to so I can get to I want to keep everybody's time and speed through this so the last thing is guys we do have um October not October 30th we have 140 resumés so for the members I know Miss Rivera said that she can help and I know Miss Butler you said I needed help I can reach out next week as well we need to uh narrow some of this down if members want to find their top 10 in in a way so that we can start getting to point of interviewing I think that would be good um not to put a rush on anything but every Council every CC that is looking for AA is using the exact same resumés that we have so if we see someone really good they may be taken by someone else depending on the speed that we move with that being said we can always have additional conversation um does anyone have any feedback around um being on the hiring committee or helping to look through the resumés or things of that nature I already had stated I would be on the hiring committee and help look through some resumees um when we had way less than that so that still stands okay with I wanna um oh yes go ahead sorry yes I want to shime in as well and just say um you know I know I'm I'm pretty sure there's a host of people with backgrounds in there um you know I think we can also put like a special focus on maybe people that have a background already with um special education or right education or the Arts or media um right so that way they can really um bring insight and really um understand us as well and what we're doing here in the council to best support us and and support right all the families that we're helping no that's good so you said education and the Arts and what was the other part Jessica media I know we're like doing a lot of things for like Communications and media um so areas like that okay perfect I'm jotting these notes down thank you so much um with our committee reports I kind of gave my updates for outreach uh co-president Daniels do you have any updates for busing no I didn't I didn't I didn't um do any meeting yet no date because you had said that um uh council member Jessica was going to be on the busing committee but I don't know when she's available to do the meeting so I didn't set no meeting date for that because I don't know okay well we'll go ahead and we can Rectify that we can Rectify that so you guys can um uh find a meeting so that we can push it out to the family safety meeting you know I haven't really did it because you know because of my injury I kind of took a break for like a week because I was stressed and I'm you know and I'm having some complications since the incident like I'm getting bad headaches and stuff like that as I'm healing so he I'm sorry to hear that I hope you um feel better and and heal soon I I can understand how being in pain and suffering could make things really hard to get work done I I hear you there um so with that being said council members um that is the remainder of our calendar meeting outside of giving our superintendent report so we can give the floor over to superintendent lisant if there is no other information that we need to discuss from our business Andro calendar meeting thank you thank you good evening everyone and thank you for joining us tonight those meetings are very important because it g they give us an opportunity to reconnect with each and every one of you and to really discuss the business of the district and how we can continue to partner together to ensure we are providing always quality education to your children and also uh creating different pathway for success for them please remember that Sunday will be our disability Pride uh uh parade and you know Sunday is October 20th and it will be approximately from 10 to 4: I say approximately because you know there there there is a lot of things that they need to do getting people Lin up uh assigning order of of uh at the parade and the the different groups of people that will be working and all that and as always it will be or as in previous years it will be um it will start from Madison Square Park until uh and to reach Union Union Square I am hoping that each and every one of you tonight will be there you will invite families friends you will bring our children with you because this parade it's about everybody and everything we do it is our chance to elevate our voices to let people know that no decision should be made about people with disabilities without them nothing about us with f with us and so that will be the big cries that will be uh um happening there and so we hope that all of you with your friends and families will be there to support the parade I was one of the um I I I was really last week was one of my proudest moment as superintendent because again uh I was um in awe with our children are they engaging with uh New York City with hmh we were in two schools uh with Deputy Chancellor Dana rocks and chief of school support uh Chief Daniel Dongo we were there in the Bronx this time visiting 176x and 10x and so those two visit were really exceptional the principal explained their program and what's going on in their building how are they really implementing uh especially 10x how Mr Rita principal Rita is implementing New York City reads um with uh his student there we walk into classroom where children were engaged in learning they were really oblivious to our presence there they were so attuned to their to their learning to the the instruction the teacher was giving and and so that was really really pleasing and very encouraging to see that uh you know although there is some push back but AR children are showing that they can handle the material no M no matter how rigorous it may be at time and then as a district we've been working hard with not only uh the UFT but with teaching labs and some other the partners to make sure we adapt every day the program for them to make sure we enhancing their access and and that's something that district 7 is known for and that's something we are really expert at so those two visit were were really um very successful and so now the president of uh the union I think I'm not that hasn't been confirmed but they want to visit those School themselves to see exactly uh what we are talking about so they want to be witness to this great work on last Friday I left the Bronx now I'm going to Brooklyn last Friday I was in um dier height New York uh Dyer height Brooklyn uh to participate in ribbon cutting for a new site we open at 231k and it's 231k at ms47 ms47 is located on 86th Street in the dker height section of Brooklyn it's a brand new building it smell new it's look new everything there is brand new and I think this is the type of building our children deserve and I told them during my my my remarks there no longer are we going to accept that you're going to give us space in the basement in the dark corners or sending us to the fifth floor where nobody else want to go no we're not taking this anymore now you know anytime there are new buildings in being built for other student our student will have space and and this is happening really in the majority of time you know we also open our 643 X new dbn in the Bronx it's in a brand new spanking new building and so this is thanks to your advocacy in District 20 you remember parent leader and Advocate poet hilly will push for this one and you guys individually and collectively you have always been advocating for space for us that's why we are so happy and we when we see you at our jph meeting right join public hearing and also at the community meeting when District 75 is opening new site and you there to fight on our behalf and on our student behalf and I am so grateful for that so it was really a very nice ceremony there and and and it was really it's it reminded people that we belong we belong there it is in our community our children do not need to be uh on like an hour and a half in on a school bus ride or two hours they can access learning right there in their own community and that's what we are pushing for and we will continue to do so as you know now District 75 almost have almost has now 30,000 students so we are a growing district and um when you are growing like that you have to hire more staff bringing more people to to service the need of our children and that's what we've been doing and you know for the 2025 school year we have hired um more than 450 teachers more than uh 275 new poers so and we continue to hire speech counselors and all that pts we know that sometime there might be places where um one of uh you know therapies is is not available yet we have been providing um rsas although we know it's not U the ultimate solution but we are pro providing rsas to make sure parent can access the service through uh our agency partners we continue to implement as you know New York City read at high level in District 75 our staff has been trained and they go also to ongoing training I know Deputy superintendent cleberg has she is sick today she is not here but she had given you in the past uh some uh detailed report on what is happening in The District in terms of curriculum and instruction I will tell you whenever someone from the Chancellor's team or one of our elected officials uh is asking to visit School in District 75 and they say they they they they will say to me where would you like us to visit superintendent my answer Remains the Same please feel free to pick any school you want go anywhere you want because our expectation are the same for all schools for all site and for all staff so and this invitation is also for you families you should feel free to go anywhere you want just let us know pick the school pick the time and we there with you because we feel once we say this school is better than this one hey that mean then the children here are getting a better service than the children there and that's not something we will ever condone or stand for so that's why we continue to work with all our University partners and everybody else to make sure we are uh welcoming uh very talented and dedicated people in District 75 on that note I would like to tell you and I'm almost done I would like to tell you that if you know anybody that is that would like to be a parel we would love you to send us that person's information you can email Sasha or Jackie you know everybody's email but we have some condition must be people that love children that care for children and will do right by children the rest right we can always teach them the rest but if they don't care genuinely about children and they don't love children tell them tell them Willie patmar and uh CCO and BJ are hiring we need the people that's going to care about our kid and that's going to do everything in their power to ensure they are safe they are nurtured they care for they are cared cared for and they are learning this is all I have for tonight I hope I didn't uh speak too much but we have so much more to share with you I think one day I'm going to take a whole day to let you know but not tonight thank you I am um transition in the remarks now to Nora to share some uh family engagement updates with you thank you good evening families thank you superintendent um I'm going to for war everyone that today at our district office we've had some serious connectivity issues so if you see me jumping in and out please forgive me I will be it'll it'll pop right back in um I did put the chat in the chat app flyer for the disability Pride Parade um I'm going to I'm working on providing the link as well so that way you can register to attend um and I will put in addition to that the flyers for all of the events that I'm going to share about today so um I just wanted to share that in the month of May of uh September and October we've been working on Expediting uh elections and as of now I'm very happy to say that we have 37 schools with active and complete Pas um and this is an incredible number uh to start at the school year last year at this time we only had about 23 so 37 is a very promising number so your Pas should be involved and up and running soon um the district 75 something I'm very excited about and I hope that you will be in attendance and I preemptively will thank uh co-president Andrea Daniels for joining us on this particular day um but the district 75 parent leadership and empowerment forum is scheduled for October 23rd um it's going to be a great day for our school teams where an administrator parent coordinator and a parent leader is invited to attend um and it'll be held in the idea is to have a day of engaging conversations and interactive activities it's going to be led by scol FC we're going to have a powerful speaker present um so we're really excited about this day the idea is to start L stronger foundations for family engagement and to build upon the work that we we know we're doing and we know that we have room for uh to to to to be better so we're really excited about that day and thank you co-president Daniel for agreeing to speak and represent uh the the Citywide education Council uh save the date we have the first parent peer group is scheduled for Saturday November 16th and it's located here at the district office uh we will have some engaging uh presentation mindfulness and most importantly the opportunities for families to come together in person to connect with other District 75 families best part is that there will be Child Care available and you know a light Munch will be provided so we really hope to see you all there um as many as as you would as you can our journey to Independence Workshop series begins this Saturday um we still have a few seats left so if you would like to register your young adult uh please uh let us know I'll put the flyers in the chat so that way you can access the links uh and a Saturday artsies also begin this Saturday there's a lot going on in District 75 families so we're really excited to uh engage with you to have you join us to be a part of our district 75 Community um and those are are our updates for tonight actually nope I'll I take that back we have one more and it's something that we're we're really proud of um last night we had 116 participants in our first monthly District 75 virtual family read allow event and I know that shile would be very happy for us to share this and I did not want to miss it we read the story mixed by Arie CH about togetherness and belonging and what a great way to end the family engagement um updates by inviting you all to our next family readal out on November 16 and November 19th and we truly hope that one of the cc75 members would uh participate by read along with this so thank you everyone and hope you have a good night thank you I have a quick question Nora do we have any updates for the district 75 Arts Academy mute you're muted the first Saturday this weekend I didn't get a notification about the Arts Academy I only got the one for journey to Independent you didn't it's actually all the Flyers on the website parent cornas have been sending them out Andre I'll shoot it to you in like one minute um but I apologize for that it's been on social media on the website and parent coordinator have been sharing them um but can we make sure for us I know that we we definitely have stuff that's online but just for our communication can you guys make sure that we still get them the old way because like um I definitely can look online but I don't want to feel remiss if I miss something like because I'm so used to grabbing stuff from the email threads if that's just for me no problem you know what did you get it um I also wanted to know did you get it on remind because I they were posted on remind as well let me I got a physical fly by Journey to independence from the school I didn't get it by email or nothing like that or on um ran or nothing like that so what we'll do moving forward I see I did get one of them but I see it with steam music dance theater and steam but I don't have flyer so okay the either or the Arts Academy you know what we'll do we'll go back to what we've been doing and we'll just send you everything ourselves yep okay yep absolutely and I'll post it in the chat now so you can have it as well thank you thank you yes absolutely um thank you everyone have a good night thank you too um council members we don't have anything further but we do want to make sure that we open the floor to our um thank you Nora and Sasha for all that you do as well um uh and superintendent Kettler um for our parents that may be on the call and also to check in with our interpretation rooms Spanish Mandarin and bang um would you be able to check to see if we have any questions from any parents that might be here um I think there is no question from bangali line okay uh and Mandarin in Spanish yeah the Mandarin no follow question so far all righty if we have no further questions do we have anything uh new business or anything final from our council members that we may need to discuss for November or for the agenda for November if not you can always email and we will add any additional agenda to items with that being said please do down uh the journey to Independence and the other information that the district has given us um I want to thank everyone for their time for coming out tonight and now we are giving your night back to you uh we will release our interpreters at 7:05 p.m. and uh we will see everybody hopefully soon on October 24th at our parents support meeting at 6m check on our social media and website uh cc75 dog all right everyone have a great night and thank you again take care everybody have a good night --------- ##VIDEO ID:tvoBU707ItE## so welcome to the city white Council for district 75's business meeting this meeting is starting at 6:48 p.m. unfortunately we do not have Quorum but for the sake of the meeting we um will do a roll call for those of us that are present um I am Christy Angel co-president of the council I am present uh Andrea Daniels co-president is present Vanessa barrero our Treasurer is present and we are currently waiting on an additional council member um we do have one that is recently resigned and another that is multitasking uh for Staten the island for their PTA and for things that are happening out there so thank you to everyone who is able to join um Andrea do you have I know that Jessica's just getting off of work so we can go ahead and at least start and go through some of these items since um we are members that are going to be continuing the work of the council so with that said let me pull up [Music] our our agenda so guys for the um I have it on here again for the budget adjustment discussion um is everyone still aware and familiar with the fact that we will not have a purchasing card um until we get an AA and um I am a little bit lost I'm hearing an interpreter interpreter I think that you are um NRA I think that you have to mute your computer oh I got it okay thank you um all right Andrea or um could you help assist me are you um let me make you a co-host so you can assist thank you what you to look at um Christy Angel no I just need you to help with the um muting and doing different things with the people um in the room so with the budget adjustment I um everyone has their e file I want to be um brief with this we don't have an AA so $2,000 will need to be moved to another line right um I can pull the budget up but I feel like a multitasking just a little bit if those of us have our computers in front of us and we're able to pull that up let me know if not I will need to take a moment to pull the budget up for us hold on one moment let me try to find it I'm on my computer on the joint public hair I had to get on the phone for this meeting because my tablet don't have enough space when I needed to update it so I'm on my phone and I'm on my computer in the other meeting okay all right so guys just uh to be in brief I'll just be brief and not pull the budget up we're going to have to move $22,000 I would like to move that into um our parent advocacy work so that we may be able to use it for any of the end of the year things or if we're doing something with uh legislative we need to use these items for um our purchase orders I'm going to uh send out another eile before our 1120 meeting on our calendar meeting which will'll be voting for these items to show you exactly how everything will be moved around but if you can please do read your emails so that you can know what the discussion will be on 11:20 in regard to moving that $2,000 out of the PE card so that we will be able to use it in purchase orders and then we will also need to figure out our website moving forward um how that is being paid who's being rbur and things of that nature because as of right now myself and uh Christy monant have been paying for it since we do not have a purchasing card um with that being said the next order of oh wait do we have any questions I don't want to skip past anyone just jumping past that do we have any questions regarding the B the budget or the um moving the $2,000 from the peard line I know I noticed that um I was the only one that sent in my reimbursement sheet so we can't do the reimbursements either at this time or what's going on with that as well it was me you and someone else for reimbursements so um that is being done by our face liaison so we can check in with her to see where she is um with that we don't have a AA so of course all of our items will have to go through Miss uh nurse Carter who will be assisting us and we need to just follow up with her to see where she may be in that step because we don't have any uh confirmations that it has been processed through famous as of yet but it has been received with uh received and signed off Vanessa you signed off on everything so far right she signed off on mine oh I was I was I was yeah I was asking her if she had um is she still on the line yes I signed off on it but I I received an email from Miss nurse Carter that something didn't go through but then she never she said she would get back to me and she never did so I don't I don't know what the issue is what the holdup is but everything that was supposed to be signed by me is signed okay I know that I gave her the um we needed our signin sheets and all those things of that nature so we did get that part in so there shouldn't be any hold up except probably her putting it in unless there's an issue with fam which of course we know that that happens um sometimes but I'll try to reach out to her after this meeting to see where she might be with it so we can have an update um do we have anyad I had sent another email in about that and nobody responded and I even sent my reimbursement again after um after um Vanessa has signed off on then after she asked you for more paperwork like the attendance sheet and stuff like that yeah I I'll just check in with her I know that our face liaison um support a lot of councils and with us not having a AA it's a bit of extra work that she's doing so I'll see um I'll see what that looks like for us to try to at minimum see if it's already in or where it is in the process um I'll try to text her while we're on this call um did Jessica ding guys I I'm screen sharing so I'm not able to see um let me check if I see you on give me a minute she's not on here I don't see her name okay I just text her I am not sure I'm realizing our emails are going to her personal not the um um no but I've been sending her emails to her reg her other one that's okay that's that's okay the the one she made for the council I sent it there two emails she not responding to me either no I'm not I'm not saying in it in that um capacity I'm saying that I made a mistake and sent the um information for today's meeting to the wrong email so that's that's my bad there hold on one second I'm going to forward this to her other email there we go all right hopefully she can join if not I will try to Circle back with her I just want to take a brief meeting so we can see where we all are um and seeing that we don't have Quorum um we just can only go over this but this is at least some good debriefing that we can have so that we're prepped for our calendar meeting on 11:20 um so in regard to the budget I'll go ahead and bump that back up to you guys so you can physically see what it is we're not be changing too much except for moving that $2,000 line item um I probably will ask for a motion to increase the line for the annual report writer because we only had $3,000 that we gave last year and it needs to at minimum be at five it is very low um for the level of work that we actually need to be done um so that's a discussion that we can have on the 20th Andor before on email uh in to the legislative breakfast um we were advised that um the chancellor wants all of the superintendents to now have their legislative breakfast and so we were asked to join with the district so that we can have a joint um breakfast which we'll have further discussion tomorrow if those of you are able to join us um council members uh with the superintendent check in I think it's 12 to 1:30 uh tomorrow afternoon so what we let me ask you a question hold on so they doing the legislative breakfast the district with us this year yes we're partnering this year with the district to do the legislative breakfast oh because last year I thought they partnered with president's Council so I'm kind of confus I'm I don't I don't believe I know anything about that um but I do know that we as the superintendent in the district it will be their first time uh doing um a legis breakfast and they've asked to work with us and we are going to try to make that happen um we will be using the um one of the B what is it banquet rooms at baroo uh SAA English is helping us to get that we'll know the date uh for confirmation hopefully by tomorrow I did ask today but we were unable to get the date it is looking at the first week of March so with that being said I want to be really h honest with you guys it is a lot of work to do the legislative breakfast correctly with it being in March we are going to have to get on the hot foot now um we're looking that room holds about 200 people we want more legislators than we want stakeholders in the room so we're aiming very high which means we need to start this month you know reaching out to our legislators with our letters with our phone trees and things of that nature and following up so that Weck people in now because it's extremely hard to get legislators and we want this year to be a bit different this will be our third year and we want to make sure you know it's bigger it's better and we have as many legislators as possible so we can lift up what we want to change about policy what we want to highlight that we have going on um within District 75 so we will need people who are able to get on those phone calls the phone trees to the city council to the legis ators to the Senators to the people on those education committees and continue to call it won't be a one-time thing this is a huge push that goes into um into March so please look into your calendars and your schedules and your hearts um because we will need to make a collective effort um for the legislative breakfast we may try to have a committee meeting just to see if there's additional parents who want to join that committee and people who want to help um put this together and uh lift the load uh in regard to the committee discussions I was hoping Jessica give me one second please oh there she is hey Jessica welcome to the meeting is your audio are you able to um hear and see what we're presenting hi good evening yes I can see okay so so far we just went over um the budget adjustment just discussing that that $2,000 we would have for the PE card we're going to move it back into well the motion will be to move it into like parent advocacy and or the annual report writer line so that we can support the items that we need without it being locked into a line that we cannot use um for the legislative breakfast we are looking for the first week of March we are partnering with the district uh to do our legislative breakfast this year and uh we have a meeting tomorrow let me know um if you do not have the link I believe I sent it to everyone but Jessica my apologies for some reason I keep sending to your iCloud I will fix that um we have a meeting with the superintendent tomorrow at 7 excuse me tomorrow is the 7th from 12: to 1:30 so for those of you who can come as council members this is an excellent space where you can uplift your concerns considerations things of Partnerships with ideas that you may have it's a great listening session and we also get our different updates from the district and it's just us with the district so if you can make that please do if not let me know and we'll make sure to give any feedback that you would like us to give you give them and then we can give you the notes from the meeting so now we are caught up Miss Jessica we are on our committee discussion so guys I want to talk um about the work that we have to do as council members um technically we only have to come to one calendar meeting you can come and you can vote however we have parents that elected us and are looking for us to do a lot of this different work that represents them and is advisory and things of that nature so with that being said we don't have all of our committees working um I with us not having a lot of bodies that's okay um but for the ones that we do have working such as busing we have Outreach um christe montoon is over transition Etc I want to know how are you guys feeling um with the Committees um how do you feel like do you what time do you guys have uh during the week to actually be available are our committee times working out for you are you guys able to technically commit to the Committees how do you how do you guys feel about that I want to hear a little bit of a feedback of where you guys may be I don't want to put any on the spot um with busting uh Jessica Andrea how do you guys how are you guys feeling about how that's moving or how you can work with it is someone talking just no nobody's talking um I'm talking now though nobody said anything um so with that uh I I know we had discussed that you said that Jessica wanted to be involved um as the co-chair busting but um we haven't really like kind of worked that out yet um I know mostly um you've been helping me sometimes with the busting um I'm not I don't want like Point blame or anything of anything of that nature I want to ask like honestly do we do our members all of us have capacity because we have emails that we have to check we have parents that are reaching out to us and we want to make sure that we're answering those parents and we're doing what we need to do on that half outside of our meetings and I know that we all have our children we all have a lot of stuff that's happening so I want to make sure I'm not making any major request of council members and if you are able to um or not able to do something which you it's not a bad thing if you can't do something it's okay just let us know so that we can um you know figure out how to you know divy the workout because Andrea and myself we're um ex aicio members of each committee and it would be I don't know everyone's timing but it would be great if we could start supporting each other um in the different workshops if you have some ideas guys it's let me know I'm here to fully support you council members will support we connect you with the people to push forward the ideas that you have I just want you guys to know that you are supported if you can do things and if you can't it's okay just please let us know so we can uh move forward accordingly and if you do go ahead not to derupt you but I know these joint public hearings are sometimes a bit of a problem because like tonight it was three of them one day and I did try to get on Staten Island because the other one and queen already finished but apparently the one is that now the one that I had access to anyway already finished as well but I did try to get on even though I was late because the other one finished about six six something okay so I jumped on the one um for Staten Island so guys um Jessica and Vanessa we have joint public hearings where we're talking about schools that are becoming collocated or truncated and things of that nature when you guys or any members see those emails coming through you absolutely can respond to them um if it's a school in Brooklyn in Queens in Staten Island we are the Citywide Council so we can go and represent our council at any of those meetings so you can always feel free to say yes and add your name um generally especially if it's schools that you're familiar with um in your Burrows we want to encourage you um to partner with us to come to those meetings Andrea and I we do uh try to juggle them um mostly but where we um I'm going to pick up where Halen left off on the joint public tracker because a lot of things have been moved around and are happening at the same time so we want to make sure we have um notice first so that you guys can prepare if you can go um and sign up for it and then we have at least a a list that tracks it um for you guys so I can commit to try to have that ready for everyone prior to our November 20th meeting and we'll always be forwarding these emails to you so if you see them and you want to join in please do um feel okay and free to do so and these Mee these meetings so far are um what do you call it um virtual so it's all committee meetings so that's done for a variety of reasons so that I guess you know people could try to make it more whether it's doe when it comes to the um joint public hearings or even if it's us parents that's why I think they make it virtual a lot and then sometimes these a lot of times these proposals end up going to the P now pep is a hybrid meeting like ARS but that's AR choice so when me and Christy Angel can't go on in person which we really haven't made in person not even me we go on even pep virtually sometimes even though that's a long meeting but we try and that meeting also is um forwarded out um to you guys generally you might see Shirley albin's name on it or panel for educational policy those meetings are forwarded to your emails as well I would encourage you when you see those things come in and there are a lot of emails pull the link out and add it to your calendar just in case it is something you can go to you can just automatically pop on because it will be really hard trying to fish through the emails to find um a lot of these different links for a lot of the things that we have going on um especially since we don't have our AA so I want to be um of that and then try to make sure you guys have everything that you need prior to um those meetings so the committee meetings that we do are all virtual so that's why I think um Christi Angel's asking like what time is convenient for everyone for certain kind of meetings because that one is virtual those committees that we do and it could be any time you know if we come to a consensus where everyone could try to go sometimes now I know everybody busy doing things in life but um you know that's what we trying to We're just trying to see what everybody could do at their capacity that's all go ahead co-president chrisy Angel but additionally um when we get to do the work of the Committees uh if you like um Jessica are you still our chair for I just want to make sure do you still have the capacity for the um inclusion you still want to Okay so when like for Jessica per se when she decides to do her uh inclusion committee meeting she doesn't have to like necessarily check in with us but she can tell us what she's doing and we can show up to support her um it will be good if it's coun you know that council members can come but we don't want to limit the work of what the council can do for the People based on if we can or can't show up we still need to get the work you know done so Jessica as I um emailed and told you whatever I know you have a great list um if you need any level of support let me know um and I'll help you get whatever you want to get out if it's the meet and greets with the parents or the different um inclusion workshops that you um have brought up um all right do we have just make a comment because I think it's great she wants to do inclusion because that's her thing but my thing is transition and because we talking about everybody for transition you know what I mean right so we do have a chair for transition chrisy uh monine has been the chair um for a few years um there so we do have that going and guys I want to be really honest about this when people say yes and you're saying you're going to chair these committees There's real work to do with it um we want you to be in touch with the people in The District in in in touch with stakeholders and Community Based organizations to do the work it's not kind of fly by night so we don't want it to feel um like that or like it's too much heavy lifting but you will be reaching out to organizations you will be asking people when they can show up if they can do things and bring you know resources back to the council but you do get to do that on your own time you can always reach back out to us we will give you the zoom links that you need make sure you have your interpreters that you ask for give you the flyers share them on social media and support you um in those manners with that being said if there's any other um Assistance or things that are coming up we want to support our um fa liaison she's going to need us to give her our dates ahead of time which means right now we're going to go ahead and start planning for December so if anyone has workshops that they would like to put on and have dates that they know that can work please let us know so we can lock that in and also so that we can let the district know so we don't um piggyback on dates that they may have so that they may support or we may support them with the discussion of presenters um we do have um well we were going to have a presenter from cuni he's going to do a workshop now for um the transition for our students going into um cuni Sunni um programs he is not going to be able to speak at our um meeting because it was going to be a bit long and it needed to be a extended Q&A so what we want to do if you guys as I say we all make one fist right so who everybody's ideas matter if you have a topic that you know our parents are right on top of need to hear more about we can always have someone come and present um in our actual meetings now guys we want to try to maybe make this like 30 minutes at most because we don't want to keep people in the office really long or online really long because we all do have our families and our children that we do have to you know get back to as well so we don't want to lean into two and three hour meetings um if we do not have to but if you do have any uh presenters please uh email and or let us know so that we can try to add them to the Slate of our meetings uh resumés for the AAS guys I am going through them and I'm going to try to pull out the top 20 um Jessica again thank you for giving me some of the resumés that you were able to go through I don't know um council member barrero or Daniels if you guys have been been able to go through the um resumés but we will need to uh go through them because it's a process once we go through we have to uh see if they're vetted and well they're already vetted but the point is we have to go through that make sure they're still available go through the entire process of the interviews and generally we do multiple um in a day and as I've said before these people are also being interviewed by other CC's which means if we're waiting to pull the resumés waiting to do the interviews we're going to delay ourselves with assistance and we may miss out on someone good so with that being said if if if if anyone has additional time to go through some of those resumés if you see something great uh flag it send it over and I'll add it to the um top 20 so that on November 20th we can discuss what um interviews can start looking like for the process of our AA the same this event when was the resume S I don't remember um getting them was in email yeah yeah they they we uh multiple times uh T sent them out twice and then I I fored them out um you sure she sent it to me positive I I'll I don't Rec but okay yeah yeah she sent it out and then uh I don't know if you were I forwarded it to everyone everybody has uh the resume for certain we have two different um we have two different sets one is from or both of them are from September 26th uh 2024 so um I can bump those back up but um yeah this is from September 26 and then right after that so we can bump those back up just so that you guys can look they are zip files it is about 140 I'm not going to you know lie to you it is going to take it may take a lot of room if you don't have a lot of room on your computer or if you're able to open it on your phone just zoom through if you see some things pull it I'm not asking you to go through all 10040 that would be a big ask but if you do have time and you can find something that you like always please do at least give us your top three your top whatever number that you may want to add in do we have any other um questions or considerations about the process when we do the AAS that will only be council members um we will record it we will only share it with council members the ones that may not be present uh the questions that we're going to ask um we have already we have them preset I can send them out to members to see if you want to adjust them by any means otherwise we are pretty much boilerplate ready to go we just need to have the people in place to do the interviews do we have any any other questions about around the resumés or or do we want to set a deadline for our top picks guys do we want to try to have this ready by the um November 20th meeting that would be our deal I mean in my opinion would you be able is everyone able to have a glance or look before the 20th I would try to see I'm running out of space on my device I don't got no space on my tablet I know that you have a computer from the council right I know I know but even that's filling up the Chromebook or mine it is cuz I got my email connected and everything else oh no my email yeah yeah yeah no no my email has a lot of emails in it no no I yeah but with with chrome and with Google you can I have like 13 Google emails on it you'll be fine I'll show you how to um I'll show you how to do it I only got one Google account on it but it's taking up a lot of space yeah yeah and it's only for it's by just one um it's by account and it's that's technically like in the cloud unless you have stuff on your drive but I'll show you how to um how to do that because we do need you functional on your um on your laptop um let's see guys okay Lisha Hicks we have someone with that is going to be interviewing with us actually that's supposed to be 1111 guys that is my faux paw 117 is our busing committee uh meeting on tomorrow and then we have our superintendent um meeting on tomorrow the candidate interview is on 1111 that's Veterans Day on Monday at 10 a.m. I know that there were a few of us that said we could meet for that morning um is that still the consensus well that person is no longer I believe one of them and I said I wasn't available um not you know because I going to um go see a program for Jada that day another program for when she graduates I got to visit these programs little by little so I'm scheduled to do that that morning okay so Jessica and um Vaness so would either of you be available if um not I can speak with uh council member montoon we can run the interview and give it to council members and if needed we can do a second we what we are looking for is to have her interviewed prior to November 20th so that we if we decide to take on Miss um kcks we will be voting on our calendar meeting which means we would be asking for a notary and for a trustee as we don't have um Quorum so we they not gonna give us problems with that again all day because I'm really no no no no we've already we spoke in the face that's that's a non issue they're um clear that we do need to have a notary when we have our votes for our um new members um and so we will be putting out more flyers again for the vacancies guys uh we can still fill up the seats we we need the help we need the bodies um face is looking into talking to our public Advocate again um we have reached out to the public Advocate um this is the longest the council has ever gone uh without a public Advocate we did have one um and now we have none so we but it took long to get him but we had him for a little while yeah right and so um we are looking to add it minimum two more people guys we can put out our Flyers to our community based organization you can share them with your friends with your schools we generally meet parents um out and about who do want to be a part of it they just didn't know that they could apply so um if we can try to do a little bit of a push collectively to see if we can get anybody else who wants to serve and has the capacity to serve um that would be um a good look now for our school visits guys um I know that Jessica and Vanessa you guys are um newer to the council and you may not have done a visit before or you may if not um we do have a process that we go through um when we request the schools that you want to visit we do have a form that we use um that you would fill out data that you'll read before you go um it's pretty um I'll put it I think we've sent it out before but I will make sure that you guys have it um just so that when you go for every school visit I'm going to send you guys the same same thing um oh there's Jessica again I let her in already um just just a comment on that Jessica was going to do a school visit before and if I remember right she got the information late from the district about some change and that's why she didn't get to go to that particular one okay and that's okay but moving forward um what we're doing for our school visits we want to make sure you guys um are prepared that you have what you need um and that can go where you want to go so with that being said we really want you to step up and say hey um I want to go check out this school over here or that school over there if parents have told you about different things or asked you to come look at a school go to the school we are going to be looking and at the capital planning to see like what kind of help these schools need what kind of things are going on in their buildings and we can hear about it all day but we can make a change or at least understand it better if we go in person and we see um what is happening because we will only get to pick five top priorities that we can um add in we generally do one per burrow so we want to try to be diligent about our school visits which will'll need to be doing um between now and December and so my question is as we talk about capacity um for those of us who are able to get out in the mornings you know like when our children may be in school and things of that nature do you um have the capacity and or desire to visit the schools I know Jessica you I know you I know you would and will do you still um have the capacity to do so and Vanessa did you want to chime in and um also do some school visits so for me it depends on the day sometimes I have medical appointments sometimes my children have medical appointments depends on the Day Vanessa you guys will pick what you um the date that um you would want to go visit the school we wouldn't pick that yeah yeah you pick the school you pick the day we just help you get um access and permission okay so yes I'm able to yeah yeah yeah so what we want to do also guys you know thank you Vanessa we have our Representatives um in seats 1 through 32 so we need to have another meeting guys just collectively because we don't want our um reps to feel kind of left out I know president's council do does a great job of you know finding them interviewing them and supporting them and our district does as well and there's a meeting in the works for a um for the different 1 through 32 seats however I just want to lift up that where we know that there's not a seat or if there's an absence if we can be interacting with that CC's president so that there is some kind of connection to District 75 in those spaces since we do have those seats and they work so hard to get um 1 through 32 as far as the meeting for the Reps Nora sent out an email to save the date and it is potentially November 25th at 6: PM so if everyone can remember to hold November 25th at 6: p.m. that would be the possible potential info session for the d75 1-32 reps and we want to make sure that they know us because we can be in a space of either mentoring or just being able to have a touchstone if they needed someone to immediately say Hey how do you do this or hey can you help me with we want to make sure that we have space to you know help other people as well so with the okay School visits process forms I will forward those to you for the capital planning district 75 reps now guys the last thing that we can go over really quickly for our um meeting on the 20th we're going to be voting in excuse me we're to be motioning in to vote for add-ons to our bylaws so if you guys can I'll bump back up the E file if you can go back through the descriptions for the Committees and just the language that we're doing with the meetings we're trying to move all of our meetings to a 6: PM start time versus 6:30 and in addition we're looking to give the council power to make joint meetings so that we will only have to have one meeting um per month now guys the the catch to that will be if we do not have that calendar meeting or it is not a meeting with Quorum we won't be able to vote on specific things and we are going to start having deadlines in February when it comes to our purchasing orders and things of that nature so if we can get a lot of stuff done while we have Quorum as we're moving forward let's do our best to do that I know we're all um trying our best now with DT I did reach out to Nora ask for the district leadership team um notes from the different meetings that have happened and for the um education plan because I know there's a lot of information that some of us don't know because either we're new or we haven't really been caught up with the meetings in the sense that um we all don't have to necessarily um go but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be aware of what's happening so I want to make sure that we have access to all of those different notes so we can know where we might need to uplift or do or report something else um within the district with that being said Do we have any questions concerns comments about the stuff that we've discussed I just wanted to mention because I forgot to mention we was talking about like the committee meetings I know I mention it to Chris the Angel um over the phone I think or through email but I'm trying to um start I'm even though had I'm in charge of Safety Committee also I had discussed with um co-president christyan just to let the other two council members know um since Christy mavon is not here for me to really tell her tonight because she's not available but I put this in the EMA as well for the rest of us but I just want to stay for the record I'm trying to do a uh a Safety Committee Town Hall about subway surfing because kids you know still been dying some of them been all kids in District 75 I think one of them was from the one from Queens I believe was actually a district 75 child so even if it wasn't a district 75 child this just needs to be it's just something that needs to be discussed and needs to have more awareness about um in my opinion so I'm trying to set up a town hall for sometime maybe the first or second week of this December I'm going to be doing it also with um y'all know Wanda binz um I'm going to be doing it with her um she she's one of our parent leaders you know that's on um Council cc8 Council I believe she has the district 75 seat over there currently and she's on other rows um even when she's not on a rad she's always you know advocating for our kids that's my point so me and her going to do this um Subway we going to do this um Safety Committee um Safety Committee town hall on behalf of our Council but on behalf of the committee um Safety Committee in particular so that we could bring more awareness about the subway um subway surfing dangers because uh five five kids have died this school year from subway surfing and some of them is district 7 kids too not just the typical kids but it's everybody that it just needs to be a more awareness that's what I'm saying she wants to also do her own town hall um she had told me we supposed to do in October but I think she you know life got busy so she said she she supposed to do her own in March but I feel like March was too late so I want to do one in December um on that topic in particular um that's so I wanted to say just to let the council members know what I'm doing um that's all okay um guys also we're going to um I wanted to get an idea you know we put out the collocated school survey which I accidentally was sharing trying to go through it pull it up um my question is um do you guys want to go through the results of the collocated school survey in our calendar meeting or do you think we should have this as a separate meeting so we can uplift what may be going on and have some other people's voices or parent voices in a separate space do we have any ideas about that if not we can always have it in a space where it's in our calendar meeting where we can you know give it to the district give it to the people have it open for Q&A at the end of our meeting if um if everyone wants to that can be something that we can add in for November or we can add in for December um I'll pull up the deck and presentation with the different charts and we can have feedback from Council Members about um what they think in regard to presenting that to the district with what we have found I also want to say um I had the opportunity to go to an arts for all abilities Consortium um workshop and it was really good um I know that some of you know I'm really trying to lift up mental health and crisis awareness and things in the schools and our Council right now um I've been working on some relationships for us for the district um uh with uh pop culture recording Industries and labels um that may want to have artists come in and do assemblies and or do mentorships workshops and things of that nature when it comes down to normalizing and removing the stigma of mental health because we do connect with people through music and through our narratives so we will be uplifting that with the district on tomorrow with more details but we are looking at having a level of partnership and Sony um is actually willing to work with us there's some things behind the scenes that they have to do um before we can technically move forward but it is a really cool partnership and uh a really cool space where we may be able to bring some um different awareness and access to our schools and students um with that being said I'm not sure that I have any further updates I will say for our newsletter that we'll be working on if anybody has anything that you would like to contribute please let me know I I do not mind um adding anything from our members any highlights from your schools or things that you think parents um may need to know if any of you guys would like to contribute to the blog let me know we can always put it online and on the newsletter do we have any uh questions and concerns about anything that we've discussed today guys or any new business I just think that um we need to do a board meeting you an executive session no board me not right now off not doing this meeting right now which would be executive session a board meeting amongst each other at a separate time like it could be virtual but we need to discuss some things offline that's the thing um we can't do that we are a a legal body everything if if two if more than two of us are meeting it is a public meeting and the public has the right and legally they have to be there so if we were going to have a meeting that um we don't have board meetings no more we don't have a board it's we're still council members it's five of us yes and as a council and if is five of us then as we're doing this business meeting now we would be doing this with the public having access to it if it is something that is private um between us then it would be something that would be an executive session that would happen during a calendar meeting or business meeting but we would be able to step off into a breakout room or something of that nature but generally um the public has the right to know our business the business of the council well according to some people according to some people and they not on this platform we haven't been doing no business but that's not totally true in in my in my opinion I'm not really here to play in the mud with anybody um we know the work that we are doing um of the council and we're doing good work I said I said they're not here I just said that oh I'm not I'm not yeah I'm not playing in the mud in my I don't really I'll be honest I don't I don't have any feelings one way or the other because I know the work that we are doing so I want to still say thank you to U Vanessa barrero to Jessica to you Andrea uh to Christie to even the people that are gone but those of us that are still here thank you for the work that you are contributing and let's try to uplift each other and connect with each other so we can continue um doing the work of the council and supporting uh the families for district 75 if we do not have any new business or considerations Vanessa Jessica you sure you don't have anything and not to put you on the spot just want to make sure no not time okay all right guys so what I'm going to do is make sure that we have the different items that you need before the November 20th meeting and if there is nothing else we can go ahead hold on a second yes I believe I don't know if that could be discussed at this meeting but wasn't we saying something about to include NYC well we had already talked about include um NYC but we would need to pay include NYC if we are going to table if we're choosing to table then we can say all right let's go to Mo and say mo include NYC cost us $300 to participate please create a purchase order and then we can go ahead and move on since we already have those monies for the parent um engagement so did we have was it forgive me who said that they could be present to do do the include NYC in February on that Saturday yes that was me Jessica okay so then what I'm going to do tomorrow I'm GNA have Mo um go ahead and make a purchase order so that we can get our table saved and then we'll get the information so we can be clear and know what we're going to set up and have with us and Jessica if there's new things for outreach I can try to be there I'm just not certain um but I generally have I've been there for the online one so this one is uh in person I don't mind empowering you guys um to go with the information that you need if we need to create some new things to be there to be more uh succinct giving them out let me know and um thank you for being with I mean I could try to be it depends on what day is I forgot what date it was um let me check it out really quickly guys give me one second this my daughter senior year everything always coming up last minute now okay so this is I think it's February 1 I'm looking online from 10:30 to 3: okay that's a Saturday right yes M all right I could try my best to be there too if she needs my assistance so that' be at least two we only yeah we only have two chairs I don't know mean yes it'll be it'll just be the two of you I don't know if you want somebody to rotate out or if you want a council member generally like I said like when I worked at Disney World you know you always have somebody in front of the rides and say hey guys come on in come on over you know so so that they can come over to the table pass out some information so we may have more than um two bodies with two at the table so worst case Andrea Jessica well Andrea is a possibility Jessica is a yes yes is that what we're hearing yes that's correct okay perfect okay so then I'll make sure that we get the ball rolling um with that purchase order and you guys can have the information that you need from the um opposite side of uh of a parent side I can't even think girl my mind's so blown right now I'm like oh lord for the um oh Lord what am I trying to say on the vendor side oh goodness y'all the vendor table whatever it is we got on the on the back side of it just to make sure because there's a lot of steps that we have to do um as vendors so we want to make sure that you guys have that information that you're set up and things of that nature um so it's already 7:39 I have one more question before we close Okay um the legislative breakfast we have a date since the district gonna help us with it like for well we talked about it earlier but I'll go back over it um again so um we're doing it the first week of March and uh we do not have the date set in stone we are waiting for the availability of baroo um and then tomorrow at the superintendent meeting that is when we'll know for certain the date for the legislative breakfast what time is that meeting the mall that one it's 12 to 1:30 um it is on under the list of dates that Nora sent us the link is um attached to it all right well I I I'll be on the meet and even though I'll be just coming from an appointment but I'll be fine okay does everybody have access to that link for that meeting tomorrow for those of us that are able to join oh no I think you need to bump it up again it's probably lost in my email I don't know about everybody right so what we want to try to do guys when those kind of things come through grab those links and add them to your calendar so you get it as a popup reminder otherwise it may be hard for you to um go through and pull that up so I'm going to send you guys the dates again for the superintendent to make sure that everyone's there if you cannot come remember you can shoot us an email and say hey guys I the superintendent to know about this or could you please uplift this on my behalf and we will make sure that your voice um is still heard in that aspect yeah that would be good for whoever can't show up Lee send your questions or concerns or whatever and we'll make sure they um you know they get it you know all righty so if there do we if we I guess we may I keep asking but I think we might be at the end of the night um so I do not have any further business there's nothing else on the agenda if we do not have anything else to uplift we will go ahead and adjourn this meeting at 7:41 and release our interpreters at 7:41 p.m. again thank you guys for attending thank you for your time council members again if you need any assistance with anything please do reach out so that we can continue to support with that being said have a great night everyone good night everyone thank you thank you bye
