I'm pretty sure she wouldn't care about me saying who she is it's Nelly's um Walker's niece Khia her and Nelly come up here to pay the bill and one of the employees told him that they were not going to take the money because it was cut off and this was like 2 o'clock in the afternoon when she come to pay her bill she get cut off no she didn't get cut off because she went back home and she paid online because she refused to take that doesn't make sense because we don't get the money for 24 hours I'm just telling you what was told to me something's kind of confused in that story and and she counsil today I'm having issues with my water um this issue has been going on for about two years now I've been calling calling theyve been sending everyone out to uh flush it we're out of water like for almost six hours we can't use our water until they fles it um it lasts for about a couple days we're back to the same issue um last week I seen them working they was talking about putting in a flusher that uh one of the workers come in and blush called in today because we can't take showers we want to it's like rusting my tubs are mess upu I mean I can't cook with the water I can't wash I can't do anything my son has got hore he could be do tooth water uh we got to go see a GI specialist I mean I'm I'm just fed of I don't I just need nebor has it turned kind of yellowish or darker than that or brown it's brown they come in meter I me you can't even see I Andrew I spoke withi spoke with everyone about issue it Lees me we have any idea where I might be doing that has anybody I mean has anybody looked seen it or looked at it or what I've found researching at the last week since the last time we spoke the line that feeds that Loop is a 2in line that comes off of Warner Street way down the way so the plan that we're looking at this is something I haven't discussed with you since our last conversation is there's a 6 inch line that runs down wut as well that's totally separate line they both come off the corner in I want to redo all of the Caps between Warner and Buffalo to get them off of the 2 in and on to the 6 in and then at the intersection of Buffalo I'm going to put the two inch that Fe your Loop onto that 6 inch line that runs down Walnut that on its own should solve the issue enough and it'll cut out more than half the length of that two-inch line the issue with it is that 2inch line has been in since probably around the 50s I don't have an exact date I have no idea how long it's been there I know that the 6 in line is newer more than likely the 2in r p used to be a dirt road back in the day but if we can get a large portion of that twoin line cut out we should resolve the issue of this dead water effectively and freshen up that loot now the flush valve we got set up last week we didn't actually have it running yet because AJ had my operator had to build up kind of Simply we had to work part to get them in and he was out there today after the last call today setting that up so it'll run on a timer and in the meantime until we can get these Services tapped and moved over to the other line we're going to have this timer running every every other day and it's going to run in the evening after hours that nobody should see a big issue about the water in the street or anything flooding out somebody's house or somebody yard so that's the game plan at the moment I don't truly know how well it's going to change it all I can do is hope for the best on this one but everything we've looked at that should alleviate the issue yeah because TI water sees a lot of it also just standing their tubs and Tide Water the issue with Tide Water is they're all one six inch line that comes off of Thomas di side and their whole compound effectively I have no idea how many services they have and where they go if they have apartments that are down for any period of time that water just sits there so when someone moves in new they're going to have that issue and there's really nothing to do because that's pass meter for all of that um but that's that's your apartment complex that's what you run into with that so I'm hoping that this will alleviate the issue I'm hoping it'll straight fix it there is a 6in line that runs down to the lift station at the top right hand corner on the map there but that 6in line is actually separate entirely from the two on the loop so there is a hydrant there you could flush it but if we flushed it it wouldn't change anything on the loop itself the flusher we set up on the loop is actually pretty close to your address now at the back end of the loop and we positioned it there so it would go into the Woodline we've got a hose set up it's not going to be in somebody's yard or on the street you know long y look at doing that project it's not going to be quick um I'm hoping that the pler will maintain some better quality water while we're working on this but we don't have the manpower to be able to swap 15 20 Services over overnight this is something we're going to have to do as we're able to do the jobs and potentially the sections on wallnut some of these that are on the other side of the street we can't just go and tap and run a new service in a couple hours we're going to have for it underneath the road and deal with other utilities while we're doing that so it's not going to be quick but there is a plan in place hopefully work okay I'm I'm really optimistic about it so you don't really have a I guess there's no really good timeline not really unless we were to contract some of this workout there's really no way to Guess that how long it would take John are you familiar with this just hear this past week I hear about it okay uh we going to look look at work on this and not put it off for CU we don't need any more babies getting see there any illation vales on that line on that two inch the only valve on that line is actually right the re cursor is now right there so where the two inch makes its Loop and ties back into itself there's one valve and that's it outside of that the only other valve on that twoin line is all the way down at P Street so what I would like to do everything between the two cut that out of there now I can't just go and cut it and tie it into the 6 in at Walnut immediately because then I'm going to run into the same problem you've been dealing with on the other customers up on the 2 in down Walnut that is that line not having enough flow because it's only residential so I'd basically be robbing Peter to pay the PO with that and I don't want to go and do that to anybody else either so I'm attempt to get these Services moved over to the six in line where there's enough flow that it should keep it clear you'll be flushing her line every other night on a timer it will flush every other night will that solve your problem temporarily um I guess they what he saying he don't even know if that's G to work that's a quick fix my problem is I mean I have four I have four kids and one is already sick I got to take off work to take him to specialist in Jacksonville because he's been complaining about his stach and at night time for us to take a shower I got to run all water in the house just to get it clear enough to take a shower it smells work I mean it's bad to the point I go to my mom and take a shower I don't even want it to touch me and he will tell you he sampled it and he drunk he was like oh it's it's F it's before even his position it been going on for two years still tell and it's to the point now where when my son got sick I'm like hey this is it we can't brush our teeth on buy water Miss Danielle I think I came she gave me some stuff to wash my clothes with it damaged all our white clothes she did try and to the point my dad was like if I started running this Bo in my washer I'll be out a washing machine so I'm spending money money going to lunch B on Sundays to get clean clothes so I don't know what to do at this point I'm paying for water in a city limit that I can't even use I can't cook with it I can't drink with it I can't do nothing take a shower um excuse me Danielle um is it possible that we could have water delivered to them the big jugs of water so that she could at least cook and drink I mean that's not really I mean I guess we could I guess because that's what a lot of cities do they have problems that would be a first I've heard of it being done but that's I'm not real familiar with having done that anywhere well Michigan I'm concerned about better we have a theory as to why that is I don't want to go and throw anybody under the bus and assume on customers behalf but there are lots of privately owned Wells that are in that neighborhood and we you can drive by the street and see multiple of them in the backyards most of them assume that they are for irrigation purposes but if any of these private Wells tie into City Water anywhere on the property and if there's any kind of backflow connection you're going to kill the chlorine residual and create K notor yeah so we changed all of the meters on the loop everyone on Buffalo Drive to a backflow prevented meter and after we did that it stopped the issue for a couple of months I would say before we had the next so the only idea there was to just make sure that there was no back feed from any wellwater any untreated City water so not knowing for sure if that's another issue further Upstream on the line possibly that could be why it suddenly came back again someone could have tied into a wellig again I can't verify that without going individually to each individual house property we don't have that authority to go to everyone like that so the only thing I can do would be tol the meters to back preventive meters and for that would be the next step there some people put a t connector somehow on the I mean from the well to the city lineing into their house or I've heard that but I I don't know if they actually is to do that they are supposed to have a testable back flip benter assembly right not a dual check not a double check Val but a testable assembly right and I guarantee most of them probably have not it would not be the first instance I've seen it around the city said that we can also back flow like we're saying into the whole system yes and those would have to be tested once every two years and once every year commercial based on State Statute anyway y' working on it and we're making progress well as preliminary as it is yes we're we're starting to now how quickly we can get it done is just going to be a matter of whether we contract this or whether we do it in house if we do it in house it's going to take time we can hope that this flush valve and each year the first Tuesday is known as Sam day of action which is a day that is provided to focus Awareness on sexual violence prevention is a day that is n nationally recognized in the United States and is observed annually as part of sexual assult awareness month which is known as s the DAT aim to stop sexual assault harassment and abuse before they happen through education teaching about consent and understanding boundaries is important but it requires a societal change too Refuge house is a nonprofit committed to providing support and services to provide to survivors of Domestic and Sexual Violence is encouraging the community to participate in this year's Sam's day of action Refuge house sexual assault response team of Perry will commemorate the start of Sam with their paint the town teal campaign the goal of this campaign is to bring the color and a message of awareness throughout the community as a fedal assult response te coordinator forage house here in Perry we would like to use this month as an opportunity to discuss and learn the structural and cultural barriers that impact survivors and communities we believe that we can help impart lasting change to work toward a future of Greater equity and respect during the month of April I will visit many of our local businesses and Community organizations Distributing chill ribbon pens information and materials the goal of Sam is to raise public awareness about sexual violence educated our communities on how to prevented and pro bolster prevention efforts throughout year individual businesses and Community lead leaders are encouraged to show their support for survival of sexual abuse by wearing till the Cod of sexual violence prevention on April 2nd and posting a selfie across social media platforms using S pound or hash Sam 2024 by wearing till individuals can signal they support survivors and are a safe person to talk to if they need someone to reach out to chances are someone in your life is Survivor of sexual assault or abuse even if they have never shared their story with you so again on behalf of Refuge house and the T sexual ass resp resp team I would like to thank the councel for
