e e e e e e e e e e welcome to the public meeting this public meeting of the Princeton Board of Education the board is an elected unpaid group of 10 citizens who set policy and make decisions on educational financial and personel matters for the Princeton public schools on behalf of all members all residents we are always happy when members of the community attend our meetings the board and school District operate under applicable New Jersey laws and under regulations of the New Jersey State Board of Education each meeting includes an opportunity for those attending to comment on items on the publish agenda or other matters of interest to them the board reserves the right to limit the time allotted to public participation law limits discussion of individual personnel and confidential matters we want our meetings to provide useful opportunities for communication between the board and the community thank you for attending as required under the open public meeting act njsa 1046 at sequentia adequate notice was given for calling this meeting it was authorized by the Board of Education and forwarded to the municipal clerk Princeton packet and the Trenton Times on January 6th 2024 was also distributed to the schools and others on the standard distribution list the board reserves the right to enter into executive session during all meetings of the Board of Education board policy 168 recording devices requires that we inform those attending this in-person meeting that the proceedings are being recorded this meeting is also being live streamed the representative of the Senate District is authorized to vote on such matters that affect sending District students or affect the governance of the princ public schools as more specifically designated in njsa 188 38.1 sending District votes pertaining to Personnel actions are through to high school Central administrative and districtwide staff only votes otherwise are considered abstentions in the reappointment hearing uh uh meeting and we're always pleased um to take a a moment to um acknowledge our staff and this week happens to be uh national teacher appreciation week I'm uh grateful for the exceptional Educators who dedicate themselves every day to shaping the future of our students in classrooms and beyond our teachers demonstrate unwavering commitment creativity and resilience they Inspire curiosity Foster growth and instill a love for learning that can last a lifetime to each and every educator in our district on behalf of the board thank you your tireless efforts make profound difference in the lives of our students families and the community your passion and education and dedication embodied the spirit of education and we are deeply grateful for your invaluable contributions this week and every week let let's pause to celebrate and honor our Educators let's continue to support and uplift one another as we work toward a brighter future for all so thank you all and um just a special Tomorrow is National Nurses Day so we we also wanted to thank our School nurses and Dr Foster good evening I do want to Echo um what dapa said um this is really um appropriate to do our reappointment agenda on the week of uh teacher staff appreciation week uh one of the things I fell in love with um in this District in Princeton is um the uh commitment and passion uh that teachers have and staff have for the students it's all about the students in Princeton and the way in which they activate voices and encourage them to grow and Thrive uh and so um it's a it's a wonderful uh moment uh tonight uh to uh go through our reappointment agenda thank you Dr Foster um so right now we're gonna have um the public comment so you can come and speak about anything um and I'll give you four minutes tonight because we only have three three members of the public Matt won't put up that the time clock no no okay teers so Jessica Vieira do you need all that I I just need the I don't need the Jass not coming over um and we don't want any and we don't want anyone else to come over and that's it thank you um I just wanted to say on behalf of the Princeton High School PTO and as the parents we wanted to express our sincere appreciation for the tremendous effort and dedication the PHS teachers and administrators have shown in educating and nurturing our children throughout the high school their High School Journey um it's not always easy your passion their passion for teaching and unwavering support and commitment to the growth grow of our students has not gone unnoticed especially this week we also appreciate the board for listening to writing campaigns both positive and maybe not so positive um in your choices in um for the coming year um our teachers play significant role in shaping the academic success and personal development um of our students and for that we're truly grateful so thank you for being an outstanding um for giving us outstanding Educators and uh for making a positive difference in our community and our lives so thanks thank you what do you have Sue nothing okay all right well thank you very much um so now we're gonna just move on um to our Personnel agenda and if anyone on the board um wants to comment please just um just interrupt me so we have retirements um G1 uh yeah sorry resignation and then we have appointments we have transfer reassignments 2425 um we have um end of assignment we have G6 which is paa non-tenured reappointments um G7 paa tenure uh reappointments we have G8 P which is our teachers union on tenur reappointments uh we have G9 pra tenure reappointments 2425 and then we have um G10 Pressa reappointments which is our administrative unit G11 unaffiliated reappointments g12 stien reappointments G13 unaffiliated central office administrators reappointments that's a long long phrase okay and um we've moved to our second public comment okay what do you got what's coming up at the high school that we need to know about um as we all know the ivy is an amazing place in our community and uh we are doing a parent social on May 15th please everyone come out and it is to support the the PHS PTO but it's really to support our community and getting alumni and everyone together to just come out and socialize as you know it's hard at the high school parents kind of drift away and so this is a way for everyone to come together May 15th from 6:00 to 8 6 to 8 and is there a cover charge there's never cover charge no tips tips go to the PTO and I'm sure and that's thank that we have to express huge thanks to the guys at the ivy who give us the tips from the outside bar yep they'll be merch to buy right and there will be merch to buy thank you very much and there's a there's a band too right no B oh there is a JP one that's that's a that's the next weekend or two weekends later and that's to benefit the Coco fund at JP there will be a band that I think may have a cover but I don't know those specifics because I didn't organize that one okay so May 15 6 to8 at the ivy but oh you should always patronize the IV because they're really they do amazing things for us it's a cash bar you you have to bring cash no credit cards IV is always cash and uh that commercial was brought to you no no no um can I get a motion for the consent vote Debbie second Mara Deon
