board does is in the best interest of the community so thank you for all the service this we really appreciate it uh this product is really we're trying to do two things uh my wife and I when we bought this house uh there was a back room built on the back of the house it was already there we purchased it unfortunately whoever built that room did not provide it with a proper structure underneath it so the really the primary thing we do number one is to provide a a more appropriate Foundation under the room so it's just stable that's kind of number one uh number two we would like to build a bathroom on top of of that structure once we get a proper Foundation um four people live in this house we have one shower it would be immensely helpful to our family to have a second shower those are the two things that we are trying to accomplish uh we recognize and we appreciate that there is a setback issue here um I would I would highlight two I think important factors of that one we have no intent on changing the existing footprint of that structure today so we plan on having the exact same dimensions that exist today when we do the uh the Improvement that's kind of number one number two um the res itial um homeowners on either side of us are both not only they're not concerned with this project but they are both supportive of this project they they are not here to voice any opposition on this today so with that we we do request the special permit thank you sounds good um does anybody have any comments or questions about this one start S I did have a have a question just to just to clarify because I I did take a look last night when you say the back room you're talking about what's on the plot plan as it's called an enclosed porch yes and that's it looks like a like a porch with some flimsy Wells on it exactly what we're talking about yes okay yeah I just for the benefit of our newcomers here that uh you know this can literally be done if we the board consider it not substantially more detrimental to the neighborhood okay and uh I personally don't have a problem with it because you're you're not creating a new nonconformity you're currently um I think the only question I had is more for my own edification looks like this actually is in the no build setback of the wetlands how does that work like an existing structure question for Brett curiosity you guys are good with it then they have to go through we don't have to condition that do we a standard procedure yes so they have to to the Wetland buffers so um I think he's in the process they were closer I could just watch I'm an only child also don't have any siblings so it's really all on me and my husband and my two kids um but it would just be helpful if I could have this one or this is the exact type of housing that I think we want to incentivize in running it's the dwelling apartment units it's limiting changes to our neighborhoods I definitely think this is something that I'd approve for an accessory apartment likes of which you want to do here I think the key compliance issue is how well you comply with section 5.4.7 point3 of the bylaw which has a big long list of conditions that you have to beet at least those that are applicable to the situation not all of them are in this case and I think you did a very good job of in the application of going through each and every one of those and answering them okay the only I would have is that as I looked at the thing at the information the entrance to that accessory apartment in the front of the house is going to go in here and then and you can enter the accessory apartment going to the right is that correct yeah yes but you can also access the main house if you go to the left is that correct yes and that's the only entry entrance from the accessory Department to the main house unless you come in the front door unless you come in the front door let me from the accessory Department yeah okay that's the only question I have her clarification okay so I was trying to visualize it as you were I I have a question do you anticipate this separate parking for the accessory apartment or are they going to park in your driveway on the other side of the house so my my parents um do not have a car um so that you know they well they do have a car but they're not taking it with them when it comes review them for building life safety and accessibility compliance so it's a lot of what I know um throughout the rest of yeah that's pretty much what I Le Co I've been uh you know buying managing and developing properties since uh 20 years old I've been in the business I've been in front of boards in multiple cities and always wanted to be part of one um the opportunity came up and I signed the application have you been in front of us before uh r no okay it's great to have both you guys here I've had to come in front of you guys once really during the pandemic years when we first bought our this room we're not allowed to hold any meetings in it um I can see what I can do if you can Pro you say which days well any other days besides Tuesday Thursday so Monday Wednesday like the time frame oh I it's at 8 o'clock so I mean I suppose if we did it a little bit earlier September through oh yeah September through December pretty much now that we have a full board yeah probably difference I'll see I'll see what I can do I just know between that and then we have like the holidays and like some of the Jewish holidays we're not supposed to put on I can see what I can do not not a big deal check with Andrew andless S but what would be the uh the you mean the the rules for recusing yourself for the reasons why you would recuse yeah why would I yeah I think that was in that if I remember right that was in that training we had to do with the regarding conflicts and stuff like that not taking bribes things like that well no I just don't want to jeopardize anybody's decision in case I know because I'm in the business I do know a lot of people I just um I don't know if knowing somebody is disqualified in another someone recused themselves because they knew me and I got bummed for another four months you know I guess ahead of time if you're if you're really good friends of the applicant I would air on the side of recusing yourself that's what I'm asking but not just happen to have run into them you know on a on a no you know job or or uh or you know at a meeting or whatever yeah I think sometimes if if you're a director but or something too that yeah director butter definitely direct butter yeah was your next or neighbor before the board like you'll probably have or relative yeah I guess maybe we'll wait till I go off the Record but I mean I presume you know a lot of Builders and stuff so if there's a builder who comes in that you just happen to know just as an acquaintance or you just know of him I think that wouldn't be grounds for refusal I'll double check with Andrew in my case it was I hung you know I'm good friends with a brother and their brother recused himself which I only see once in a great while just not to jeopardize the whole process you know I'll definitely double check with Andrew on that but I think everyone's correct on that if you're like a directive butter or if it's like your home um if you're part of the project or like you're like participating whether you're the contractor helping them with it that's be well I don't do I personally don't do contract work it's only on our own properties that we have if we renovate
