Jersey Schoolboard Association they had a meeting on Friday the 15th uh they discussed finances the audit was completed and their expenditures aligned with the overall goals of the association there's a launch of a new website for so it could be more user friendly and allows for easier access to resources um and then also specifically in regards to the resources the njsba is working on an update to the board self- evaluation tool that we all need to use um this is the first revision they've had in 15 years so that's exciting um and then the two new changes look at how boards are closely monitoring their goals and assess whether they've achieved the goals and also helps to put in a plan to achieve them uh the next meeting will be in January and they're also they are open to the public if anyone's interested in joining them they're in person and virtual and I also have a small report for the high school PTSA I apologize I thought that the meeting was the fourth Monday but it is the business seeing none we'll move on to public participation each member of the public may speak a maximum of three minutes please state your name for the record Katie mcdermit Rosel Park um I had to change what I was planning to say because Mrs Kirkland covered most of it in her finance committee report so first I would like to express my gratitude for the changes made in the special education department the past couple of years the positive effects have not gone unnoticed however we still have a long way to go and I would like to remind you of what I shared at the November 202 3 meeting where I told you a story about a video that I watched that was shot very close to my hometown in Texas it was a ju AOS of the Town's new $60 million football stadium and its rundown playgrounds that were completely inaccessible to children with disabilities so again I know that it's not fair to compare a big Texas town where football is King to Rosel Park but I think what the narrator says at the end still Rings true School school boards fund things that are important to them as you are making decisions regarding next year's funding and what's important to this District I hope that you will put the children receiving special education services at the top of your list thank you thank you anyone else Franko uh go touched on a couple great things that the town was doing I just wanted to elaborate on that uh the high school had a phenomenal haunted house uh prior to uh M the mief night event it was I I was part of it but it was amazing it was amazing uh even though I took a year off of the high school I'm still I'm still getting involved uh but also that's not attached to the school what it is is the Mischief Night event that happened in town a lot of the ptas uh get involved and hand out candy uh Sherman handed out candy the middle school we did a a scavenger hunt and then uh Robert Gordon did like a glow stick broom thing that they made it was really cool everybody had a great time uh also coming up for uh I'll do the middle school first um Middle School is having a fundraiser this weekend on Sunday at the red Cadillac uh you have to show a coupon that we have on our Facebook page uh please it it gives 25% goes back to the school uh so bring the kids or don't bring the kids uh then our holiday shop is on the 12th and 13th of December and then for the high school I know that they're doing the December 8th was the said eth right for the uh Winterfest that's in town there they have a booth for the band so it's important to the public to get out there and go to these events because sometimes the PTA or or band are involved and it just supports everybody that's involved that's it thank you thanks Frank anyone else I don't need to set my timer uh Jody Foy C in Avenue just a quick shout out to the Rosel Park marching band um we competed at the our championships in Hershey Park and we came in I believe fifth out of 11 or 12 bands but we um our score was the top score that we've ever received at a Tob event so our students worked really hard they behaved themselves in her sheana our overnight and we debuted all of the new equipment that the van parents um so tirelessly fundraised for we have a over $5,000 of new sound equipment for our show Medusa so thank you to the board for supporting the marching band and congratulations to all of our Marchers thank you thank you congratulations to the band anyone else once going twice closing the public participation the next scheduled board meeting will be an open session held on Tuesday December 17th at 7 pm the board the board meeting will be held at Rosell Park High School auditorium can I have a motion to adjourn make that motion have a second second all in favor I hi thank you good night Happy Thanksgiving everyone for
