against along with the boys basketball coach wrote a an email that I just want to share because I thought it was just speaks to the character of our students here in Saddlebrook my freshman team has a player with disabilities I told your coach I was going to put him in and what happened next was magical he instructed his players to not play defense we tried to get on this one student we tried to get him the ball so he could score but we're unsuccessful then with 10 seconds to go he instructed his team to give him to give the ball to the basketball teams he could try finally after a few attempts the the kids scored it was a phenomenal moment and one that he'll never forget his mother was very emotional and thankful for what we did for her son while some might didn't not think it's the right thing to do I assure you from experience not every coach would have done that or that is just the right thing to do not every coach would have done that so they're commending our freshman boys basketball coach um a chew Class Act with the heart and they're very grateful to all of sbook high school so I thought that was very nice I also wanted to share that we are looking to start a presented a seminar to younger high school athletes on how to navigate the college application process despite having already committed to record Simon's first inclination was to reach back and help help others at the start of the school year I had behavior issues with a few 10th graders and I asked Simon to come back and talk plainly to them I knew that he was that he is looked up to by many underclassmen and I knew that his talk might have a positive impact on them and it worked I remember Simon as a hardworking responsible and respectful student it is not a surprise to me that he's being recognized as an exemplary Falcon he always had a positive attitude towards school and was well-liked in class by Piers because he is an all-around great kid I know the future is bright for no I usually do them together okay well then let's cancel that and start over at the recommendation of the superintendent I make a motion to approve the following items policy 24254 P 5512 through p 24255 p 7481 second any questions we had a policy committee meeting this uh Monday this past Monday um so that's where these first readings came from most are from the fact that our memor that the um State memorandum of agreement with law enforcement Services has been updated so they needed our policies needed to be mandated to reflect those updates also included on here you'll see a first reading for uh eligibility of Resident and non-resident students the only change there was our current policy states that even if you're in 12th grade and you move out of District you may stay here if approved but pay the tuition rate so what this amendment what this um revision does is it takes away the tuition for a student in grade 12 that final year high school graduation is updated that's mandated because every High School senior needs to complete the FAFSA um moving forward our parents have been notified of that and the F number P 9163 spectator code of conduct for inter Scholastic us so number number two is taking his share of that sipen 47 as a mandate Point 48 is the fact that minimum wage has been raised from $513 to $15.49 um and then 049 is a student who graduated from SAR High School who is going to come back as a volunteer production assistant for the spring musical stuff and for those two new hires I will fill in the account numbers trust me on that and they'll be on aware that they are legally responsible and liable for their comments is that the whole thing good job go thank you welcome y uh my name is Kathleen Landry and I live at 75 Miller Street in Saddlebrook um and I have two questions the first is the Abilify program what grade does that go up to um once you once you ask all your questions and then we will reply okay and then my other con question is I know by regulation for the board a maximum class size is 27 however when does that like become a concern with the class size and maybe the dynamic of the class like when would that be addressed as a concern okay absolutely do you want to close a m comment I stay here no you don't have to um you don't just stay in the room stay in the room she's GNA answer you can I have a motion to close the thank you all in favor hi okay all right all right the question was our amplifi program what grades um currently have it currently it's in K to 3 we started out last year K to 2 we expanded it to third grade this year um and depending upon our budgetary um situation we're hoping to be able to have it in fourth grade but that does it is dependent upon our budget which we're starting the conversation shortly it is very well received it integrates social studies and science into literacy quite well um and there's a level of accountability with the program that is very well received the as you shared maximum class size so we do have um 27 students currently we just had a new student enroll in each first grade classroom at Franklin Elementary School um each of those classrooms does have a an assistant in their power professional um as well that being said is it ideal absolutely not we are on watch for it um my office knows that if there's an add additional first grade registrant to notify me before they register and then I will connect with the board about a viable solution um we're keeping track of class sizes across the district we are fully aware um the best that we were able to do at this time with our space is to provide a par in those classrooms um for the day I just want to make sure I you so there is currently a par in each of those classrooms at Franklin yes okay thank you it might be through asss or but there but there's someone okay thank you we're not going it's closed right no closed tonight okay can I have a motion to adjourn all in favor any opposed get out of here you okay uh thank you everyone so soia
