couple games in against the two Harbor storm and then today we are in clo we are playing the clo Esco Carlton Lumberjacks it's a co-op of three towns looks like they got healthy numbers on their roster I counted 31 kids on their roster uh assuming that the roster is accurate sometimes we come to these ranks it's way off y or there's a lot of double numbers I think I noticed two 29s on the team last night like who's how do you get the stats stats right for that and you know this game is not all about stats but some girls definitely do look at them and they want to want to know what they got um this is another rank that's got this great hockey atmosphere and it's much War warmer in here thank goodness yeah we were talking a little bit last night and then you guys before we get on the on the broadcast these rinks with these roof the the wood roofs yeah the old barn style I just I love them it reminds me like a Viking ship what the bottom part of a Viking ship would look like flipping upside down that's a rough all right so here we goar on the the start on the draw here every rink we have a completely different setup but we're going to pretend that we know what's going on today Buck comes into the neutral zone Amari gets a hold of it puts it in the zone Erikson going back for it she's going to go behind the net puts it to the boards now Faith Faith swiped at it she fanned on it Peterson hores it in on net m is just going to hold it for a whistle M was like do you want to take it no I think I should grab it with that uh cover she's going to have a face off to her blocker side and looks like we're going to have a Mara on the draw shot comes through drifts wide Bobby picks it up Bobby speed through their Corner out to the point gets pushed back in Faith bounce once again we're uh doing good good on the back checking we'll have a face off to the glove hand side Anders Shack on the draw HCK in the middle shot save rebound picked up by Ellie flipped to the boards bouncing into the neutral zone Shayla hustling Hala hustling partner pass to the wing they're going to dump it in goes behind the net there's Gerard she's out to the point Linder shot save rebound good tie up by Sienna they couldn't get the rebound Sienna end UPS pick picking it up off the boards for Shaya Shayla looking for Brooke Brook in the neutral zone chipping It Forward stays on side we're changing Suma over the boards pushing the puck forward forward Sienna trying to chip It Forward too Brooks CH in the middle of a change armar waits till Brook gets off the ice then she goes after the puck ellieo on the boards up for Amara she's got Suma with her centering it ends up on a lumberjack Stick Over The Blue Line good step by Shelby knocking the puck to the the boards and it's brought over to the neutral zone Avery pushing it forward this is one of those rinks where I feel if I lean like lean too far forward every was going to be watching the back of my head instead of the game but I'm having trouble seeing when it's close to the boards Shelby behind the net she's going to wheel around they give her the middle so she takes it right there that's a perfect example Shelby read that they Shelby walking in she's going to backand it goalie saves it read the fact that the middle was open yeah she walks to the middle like as a d I always say if I'm coming around from behind my net I want to skate up the dot lane cuz I'm out of the slot I'm out of the danger zone I can go to the boards I if I get to that blue line now I can cut to the middle if there's room you know yep turnover two on one going to fire M up big on the on the paint again bounces off her to the side of the net Shelby picking it up looking for Avery I think that z d steps down Ellie looking for Avery again Avery gets a stick on it it's on the half boards centering pass bouncing Shelby to Avery again now Avery turning Amar comes into a backer up Buck ends up behind the net Vernon after it out in Gobles up the rebound covers it for a whistle m is doing a good job of staying up on the top of that blue paint like you're saying uh what that does is it cuts down the angle that the shooter has any area to shoot at the open net L vanders Shack on a draw Rook ties up pushes it into the corner Sienna after it shoveled behind the net Faith picks it up Faith looking for Haley D steps down Sienna lets that go by I think she thought about stopping it with her foot and then just lifted her foot last second it's a good play not uh not stopping that just in case sometimes not stopping the puck is a better play than actually trying to control the puck especially when you don't know if you're going to get good control on it right in the front of that net you don't want to give it over to them oh bounding parck Shor with the shot it bounced in on the goalie she had to be sharp get the pads in the way hold it for a whistle something tells me I don't want to lean on this rail as much as I don't want to end up on the ice it's been a long time since I've been on the ice hack but I don't need to be on there today I hear you all right Lumber Jack flip it out Sienna hustling back for it Peterson Peterson charging but Sienna gets it to Faith now Faith's going to skate it into the neutral zone Faith picking it up turns Puck rolls off for stick balances It Forward Suma comes in to help through face legs back behind the net now Sienna good Quick Escape move by Sienna nice break up pass pass to Suma two and two through the neutral zone she's got Amar with her Suma goes wide looking thought about centering it does ends up in feet bounced around Vernon picks it up Vernon into the neutral zone with it she was looking for JY but Bobby got it back pushed it into the neutral zone now Suma bodies are off the puck they walk up they're going to fire hit the post Ellie watching bucks pushed behind ends up Far Side Shayla bats it up the boards held in push back down low now Amar is going to get there on to Bobby stick Bobby for Suma Suma pushes it up the side shot off some skates into the neutral zone so another thing you want to think about if you know that puck is coming to you you got to get your head on a swivel and look around where's the pressure where am I going to go once I get that puck you have to have a plan before you get the puck and the plan could be as simple as I'm going to catch the puck I'm going to turn to my left and I'm going to take three strides y that could be the whole plan and then you reassess after the second stride am I am I still taking a third stride Y and it doesn't it doesn't hurt for your teammates to be yelling where you got your pressure on you especially if they're coming in behind you deep pinching deep pinching or you know pressure left right I I agree with that 100% because then you're asking you're you're you're another set of eyes for your then they get that's how that's how players get eyes in the back of their head I mean if you if you go to a pro game there is constant chatter on that ice I mean you people are yelling at each other and it's only going to give you that much more time and space to be able to make a good hockey play right right and and I think that language is really interesting I think it's I I don't know if it gives you more time and space but it allows you to maximize your time and space nice breakout pass to Brooke my guess is it bounced off her stick because she was gripping her bottom hand a little too tight that's a trick I tell the kids a I tell anybody who'll listen honestly soft hands that bottom hand on your stick needs to be soft when you're catching a pass just like watching the movie Mighty Ducks the eggs thing where they're passing with the eggs I don't remember that but it's even how you grip the stick if you grip the stick too tight that Puck's going to bounce off and away well in the way these sticks are uh produced now you don't have as much uh Flex as say a wood looking for a pass comes out to Amara Lamar Back to Ellie Lumberjacks chip it out of the Zone they pick it up we got a two one possibly a two on two of Mars hustling back nice hustle back good job by Suma to push her off to the side Ellie grabs it Ellie over to Avery Avery maybe looking for Suma nope she's going to dump it Lumberjacks try to control behind their net Suma giving her trouble she turns and reverses going to try the other way and reverses again back over to Suma Suma just wants to get it out I think I think we got a nice soft out here we're going to oh yes nice job by the to believe this TJ Kurt got a text and I got multiple messages saying we have to turn up TJ's mic it's hard to hear him it's finally a voice control by TJ I don't know about that maybe we turned off turned on my filter way too much Brook whens that draw to the corner Mara just takes it back for the last three seconds of the of I don't know if uh Kurt Kurt may catch us at some point in the game but uh being the the hockey Nostalgia up here I don't know if Kurt if you can go go over and pan up all the professional hockey players that came out of Cl here um Coleman I don't know his first name I know Derek plant Jamie Lang and Bruner and then on the other side over here we have Lundquist who must be in the the female Pro uh League don't know her first name either malt Millan that he he had a sign up front as we came out here and then uh Wilson a lot of professional hockey players have come out of the this area there's not a lot of people in this town but they uh have produced good hockey for years and I always like to see the the professionals that have came on played high school out of some of these places and always interested to see how many how many players they've had that have made it in life made it in the pros I should say so the other thing um one of the reasons I cut off the mic is uh when we come to these rinks I'm I always stop at the rink and I asked where should I set up and and uh I I think I misunderstood so in between the second and third period we're actually going to have to move our gear shifted about 3T hopefully I don't break anything um in terms of the live stream but just so you know that's going to be happening between second and thir are they just doing a light show type of thing but they're not even doing the commentator and they just need to be here for a small period of time yeah I'm not sure but we need to make enough room either way so we'll move over a couple feet um we'll try to hold the camera still if not just close your eyes for a few seconds we'll let you know when we're done so okay we're in were in Two Harbors yesterday and I actually went and switched out to get a new hoodie last night cuz I was too cold now tonight I can't decide if I'm wearing a jacket or not with my jacket on I was layers with my jacket off I'm a little bit not quite warm enough so so that is funny uh chck just said that we got people that curling guy could have stopped that right well it's interesting too because you know how we've been talking a couple of players like to push that puck ahead and then try squirt brayy did that here right at the center ice on that last rice that last Rush maybe this is a little bit slower ice well there's a lot warmer in here Jack so the ice might be might might be that much softer too yep that's all things you have to take into account as a player two onone Shayla hustling after it foot race into the corner ends up being icing but that's all things you have to like in warm-ups as a player I'd get a puck yeah just kind of saucer it around I'd wrap it around the boards I gra 5 10 PS on the boards to see if there was any weird bounces on the board like zambon doors are one some of the worst well and most home teams know that and they take they make home the home net opposite to Zamboni doors that's I never even knew that puck behind the net Ray steel watching up the half boards ends up going for icing 10 11 to go the second no getting back to that you know checking out the ice so when I played High School hockey it was at East Arena which was much like the rink that we were at yesterday and it was so cold in that rink that when I'd go over to like the macarina it was so warm it felt like I was hot the whole time so that week at practice I'd actually put on a Long John's underneath my paths just to kind of get used to that heat Olivia in the corner woran battling there out to the point held in partner pass strob that was deflected Olivia picks it upside the net working behind the net centering pass shot trickles wide gly on the in the corner now trying to push it up the boards Olivia now if you look at all the white jerseys they're all on Olivia's side of the ice if we partner past that come up The Far Side we got a half sheet of ice that's wide open with nobody on it absolutely Jalissa on the point holding it in pushes it back behind STW back for it Amar watching Shayla forces the pass suan up over the Blue Line nice pick pocket Ellie takes it gets back to her though Amara pushes the puck into the neutral zone she's ready for a change out comes I don't know if we have the possibility right now to have all three vandenburg's on the ice at the same time there's two of them out there right now and Bray Lee's over there standing up so she could very well get out there with all three Vandenberg on the ice to the corner cam picks it up cam behind the net with some speed bounces it up the boards for Grace Grace to Brooke Brook trying to push it Forward knocks it Loose for grace for cam cam now stick handling through the neutral zone oh just a bit offsides you know I've uh I've noticed that with broe a lot she does she does a really good job using her feet to catch pucks and she's very uh aware of when it where it is in her feet that is one of the toughest things to teach or coach sometimes people got it or they don't Amara fck Ellie's with it in the in the neutral zone pushes in and it's rolling oh my when goalie just that's like flurry the other day that one bounced in between his legs as he tried to just hit it with his stick instead of stopping it first and that was a roller and I don't know if anybody remembers watching I think Gabby Swanson had a 130 foot goal just by a goalie trying to do that type of thing Avery following up bounces it back for brayy brayy centering it for Suma Suma tries to shoot hits some skates hustles after it picked up by Mortin this six she's got some Wheels more walks to save MCH behind the net brayy watching in the corner that's Gerard brayy pushing it forward out to the point it goes stob strob looking right back into the corner for Gerard Gerard behind in the net walking around out to the point that's Linder fires M sees it coming into the belly it goes holds it for a whistle 652 to go on the second storm and Sabers trailing 13 have a face off to M blocker side it looks like and Brooke Anders Shack's going to take the draw Brook wins it back Alissa comes in picks it up up the boards for Natalie in the ref's feet picked up by The Lumberjacks strob going to fire deflected ends up going wide Natalie back for it Natalie looking for Brook a little bit behind her that's waran in the corner back for Linder oh Natalie trying to go Brook knocked it behind her that's going to go for icing Natalie almost got that one by that Defender and uh there ain't too many people that are going to beat her in a foot race I always like to do that as a forward you know that chip off the glass and just go for the foot race and we see a lot of girls try to do it it's a good way to get the puck out of the Zone especially if you don't have another Outlet you know just to chip it let's go let's go for a race Oh I thought they were going to shoot Jalissa must have got a stick on it behind the net lber Jacks looking the center Natalie ties him up ends up in the neutral zone pass went through everybody Natalie wrestling messes with her enough to make it an offside facee off will be in the neutral zone we got face off just outside the stor and saber Zone and Amar is on the draw Puck comes back pushed forward ends up on cam stick cam hits the red line dumps it in graay steel hustling she's going to get there first for sure in the corner tried she tried to shovel it back to the D her stick went over the top of it ends up going behind the net now with sather sather same thing just swiped her stick right over the top centering pass gra steel hustling to the boards in her feet slips through them good back check by Amara to intercept that Ellie on the boards for Grace Grace in the middle oh Shaya still almost gone head Tak she slowed down for a sec allowed the back check to cover to catch her she had to slow down to recover the puck but boy oh boy that was close to offer the races Ellie nice persistence by Ellie holding it in on the blue line again pushing it Forward Ellie's going to walk to the middle now she's going to fire oh drifted it wide Shayla after it out to the point cam fire shot rebound pucks loose nice quick shot by cam there and uh Grace steel was right on the doorstep trying to get that one in the goal The Lumberjack go tender did a good job of covering it up and we'll have a face off to her glove hand side that's another thing as a forward you really really really want to pay attention to is how well is that how well is that goalie uh controlling their rebounds absolutely fck behind the net pushed into the middle Olivia's going to pick this up she's just going to hold the red line and dump it in once we clear now we're in on the for check again stob looking goes through everybody that's an interesting pass there's at least two green jerseys that if they get a hold of that yep that's Prime Time shooting area no that's you better be careful when you try to pass cross side especially right through the center of your own Zone yeah I would say that a pass like that if you're on the outside dot Lane the far dot Lane and you're looking to pass across it's really not a safe pass until you hit your blue line absolutely it might be safe if everybody's backed out of the Zone top of the circles but if everybody's out of the Zone top of the circles and that gets intercepted you might have break yeah all right so this is
