new business to address uh there's not an application but we do have uh small packet uh regarding a concert at the William marrow Beach on either May 23rd or May 30th Doug can you add any contacts to yeah so they're looking to hold a concert um they're also going to donate the money that they I guess collect from the concert to a mental health awareness charity the National Alliance of mental illness is the charity that they will coordinate the event with they've they say they've done this in different towns around the area so they're just looking to kind of utilize Summers point and kind of going from there okay looking for either date yeah so they initially said the 23rd then they also well they initially said the 30th and then they said the 23rd would also work for them so Memorial the 26 yes that was I think that was the reason why they came back with the other date so to try to avoid that weekend all right so so they're Fridays yes okay what time I don't believe they sent a time frame yet I think it would be similar to the uh the Beach concerts to nine yeah so we're not approving anything that we can go back to them and ask them to submit an actual application before you yeah this is all I had gotten from them when discussing the event so wanted to make sure we were kind of interested first before we kind of move forward anybody have any concerns regarding that I believe so yes the they're just going to coordinate with the National Alliance of mental illness that that's the charity they're working with so there's three9 uh very good this request yeah I think that would all have to go into that the application process at that point we we can't approve it regardless we can't approve it based on the size without representation any thank you thank you yeah we ask them to U submit an application be at the meeting those States interfere with Beach concerts um they nothing's been announced for the Beach concerts and typically they haven't started it might just be worth well they should be here to yeah I would assume the 30th would be a better date being not Memorial right there's like a couple week W after have everything else in line and then have a better track that date if we this was kind of just an initial this is what they're looking for is it AE yes I believe so he never mentioned anything about anybody paying so I think it would be the same thing of them collecting donations I think they'll collect donations like as if the Beach concerts yeah it's striking me as a pretty preliminary uh feeler um we would obviously need to to work out a lot of details there's nothing being approved right now but I don't think you any them coming in all right uh we have no correspondence I'll make a motion to open the public portion of the meeting Chris does anybody from the public have any questions comments concerns like to address for you please state your name and address please I'm Moren hellig 106 East dolls avenu um I'm the yoga instructor we had uh the snow week and um canceled classes and so I wanted to extend the existing series one week further um to make up for everyone that missed that week and so that would mean that the um new series would start February 4th and February 6th the Tuesday and Thursday so um so far um with the three classes I have 34 confirmed attendees and then 17 people have reached out to me between December um before Christmas that wanted to sign up for the February so once you tell me that that's okay to keep going then I'm going to reach out to all those people that have um contacted me and give them the ex the new week um to start the next series and start the sign up process again okay okay uh we're at the senior center Yeah Tuesday Mornings a 10:00 class and 11:30 class and then Thursdays a 10 o'clock class and the last application we approved had a finish date looking through should I think it was next week October looks like so the last one would have started December December 10th and December 12th and would have run to January 21st and January 23rd yeah it would have been up next week okay um so I guess we can thr on just extend extending that just strle um we can have we can just have a formal application for next meeting um for the next we can even even do it similar to how we do the uh p knuckle and all that just a six-month renewal and then we go from there yeah anybody have any issues with that okay so we'll extend extend through I guess through our next our next meeting through the first week of February when we can address a new application and and then just do a longer renewal from there okay that would be yeah because of the people keep wanting to come back the same people have been here here some of them since June have not missed a class that's fantastic and that we started with just one class in June and now we have three so um so that'd be great if then what you'll do next meeting is extended for a certain period of time longer as long as you're intending on I'm continuing the classes as as um as prescribed in the uh in the previous applications okay yeah basically just save you the trouble of of coming back okay yeah that's fine you just have to come back if you're going to make a big change or Okay add another class or all right just so we can now we're sticking with three's plenty all right so we'll uh we'll straw poll um extending that through we'll say February 7th to put a firm date on it as our next meeting is the six so okay and then do I have to do something then do I fill out an applica how does that we if you can work with dou yeah we can fill just fill out an application okay we we'll just put the start date as there's no changes we don't to okay yeah I'll catch up with you tomorrow and we can get new uh Charlie haror I sent over to I I sent over to Doug and email on uh on Tuesday that I wanted to talk to the group here about a cou a possibility of some bus trips um I have gotten a quotation from um a provider friendly tourist travel at a cap May uh we're looking at potential of three trips one would be to Smithville Village another one would be to Dutch Apple Dinner Theater out in Lancaster and the other one would be up to Surf light uh theater up in Long Beach Island uh I'm not sure how to go forward with this with a formal request but when I looked at the numbers for this total cost all in is $ 11,35 that would be assuming 35 people per bus without any contribution from anybody going on the trip so the $ 11,35 is just a total dollars um we'd have to discuss a lot of logistics on it but I didn't know know what the proper procedure would be to go forward you know to give a formal um presentation or a formal request to this group so I wanted to come up tonight just to to ask for some guidance see if there's any interest in even doing this as a city um and I just wanted to open that up to you guys just um sorry um I know we uh that was something that we certainly were interested in doing do you have a timeline for when this yeah um just kind of throwing out a couple timelines here on it um I was looking at the potential of going to the uh Smithfield Smithville Village uh probably in around the beginning of may just as the weather was starting to change uh going to the surf light I was thinking of that being sometime between September 25th and October 4th that's for On Golden Pond with some of the seniors that would be a good thing included uh Dutch Apple Dinner Theater uh they have Fiddler on the Roof which most people know about that would be between April 11th and May 17th so um they would be staggered a little bit uh we' likely try to pick a Monday or Wednesday so we don't interfere with the yoga that's on Tuesday and Thursday we do walk all week but it' probably be a lot of the same people I'm thinking that are in our walking group and in our yoga group but we would open it up to the you know the city any anybody that was interested so that's kind of the time frame but I I was that's just right off the note I got from you know just kind of going through and looking at it from U friendly tours people but I I I guessed there's some type of procedure and that's what I wanted to make sure that I follow that in requesting um so yeah typically uh most of our um activities we we as as a board for the last several years we haven't been ourselves running activities um so if you're proposing this as like a separate entity coming to us yeah I'm thinking that we would come to you as we walk Summers point just kind of making that the umbrella of uh you know the group and and like much like with the SC Crow thing we kind of got involved with that so I think I would just use that as being the group uh so we generally uh most of our applications come in looking for uh facility use um whereas I I guess you're really not no I'm kind of asking for some dollars and some guidance really yeah um so I guess it would still be be an application or just a a stra I think it would be a straw pole if looking fund yeah okay so we we could address um those on a either a in its entirety or on an individual basis under our new business okay just V but imagine that would depend on what kind of budgetary yeah when when do we typically the meetings happen end of January beginning of February but I don't know when they're schedule that budget discussion is January 30 yep so by February or March we should know what kind ofre to and I'm throwing out what the total number was looking some guidance here I I estimated 35 I have the breakout per trip here to going to Smithville is if you let me just give you the numbers if you go into a Smithville Village it's $45 a person so that would be you know say we did have say it's 20 bucks that one to go to Dutch Apple Dinner Theater it's $135 per person to go to Surf L it's 125 so that's that's where I came up with the total number just simple math um but uh you know I just you know if half's good you know and we see how many people we get you know that's I'm okay with that just wanted to kind of get some sense of it I think a lot of it will probably depend on what kind of spending we're by but it is something that we did hear uh when when we had a lot of community members come in expressing what they would like to see the recreation department buz trips came up quite often yeah that was when I was here for that mean that's kind of spurred and and as we've talk to people that are you know in yoga group and a walking group yeah that was something that uh people really wanted you know possibly do um but yeah we'll we'll look at it from the funding standpoint but if there's any paperwork I need to fill out Doug just send it to me I'll be happy to fill it out as we walk Su point the paperwork can you put like calls for busing or like separated it out yeah they gave me just a total price of it all I I mean I'm sure I could get the ticket would only be bus right it's a trip on your own you get you know six hours there you do whatever you want the other ones have lunch and a dinner theater plus the bus plus a $6 tip per person but I can I can do some more research on it to find out what a surf light ticket typically cost you know for a matina and what it cost at Dutch apple day inter the so we know okay and the I have one additional question um is this um are you for as far as H planning is this are you kind of taking it as you go are you potentially adding more uh throughout the year I think the first year we see how we do with these three okay um if people you know we've had things where people say oh you know could we do a trip to Spain you know yeah we're not ready you know uh let's back off on that let's kind of keep it simple um you know so and then if there's interest and it grows and people want to do more and somebody's willing to take it on as a volunteer basis great I think we we have had it but I do believe there's a need for that people you know it's Community anybody else have any question okay all right so I'll wait for Doug to let me know if there's any paperwork and then we'll go from there thank you for listening and just real quickly on our we walk Summers point we're averaging anywhere between 17 and 21 people on a nonf frigid day but about 15 when it's really really cold so people are still coming pickle ball courts um we are awaiting budgetary um we haven't received our our budget information for the for the new year yet besides that that's where we're pending right now we don't have any idea what kind of money we have to spend um I did come across when I was away another um Community um similar to our two tennis courts and what they did was you know how you um made one pickle ball on top of the One tennis court well they used the net as separating into two quandrant places and they um painted out two courts on each side of the tennis net and then they had a net on wheels that would come so they made Four Courts one two three four instead of just one and one so if there is tenis yeah and it's still shared courts so I have pictures of that if and indeed there's funding that comes and there's um any ideas on it on that okay do you have it with you it's on my phone yes okay could you email them to uh to Doug and we'll we'll take a look at our next meeting business we'll do thank you I was just a little curious as to whether or not you could um get the courts on a public works schedule of sorts for at least the leaves um you know we we bring our own blowers and blow the leaves to the side but uh in years past the Public Works have cleaned up all the periphery of the inside of the court with Le leaves but uh we didn't see that done this year so if they could uh maybe when the snow melts and all as well yeah I'll be get right back up on top of them it's just that's something I have an ongoing battle with them over so okay well listen we we love Public Works we think they do a wonderful job um you know throughout the city but uh we did notice that this year and and you know maybe they were uh uh short staff and overworked I don't know but if you could um you know
