The purpose of our meeting tonight is trifold. The board will meet in executive session this evening, just the nine of us, to discuss the evaluation of 8 00:02:03.040 --> 00:02:18.000 our chief school administrator, Superintendent Bing. This is our annual legal obligation, and all board members have invested significant time and thoughtfulness so far in this process. Prior to that, we will have the second of our annual retreats, which is in fact 9 00:02:18.000 --> 00:02:32.879 our fifth during the current school year. Gan Clearary, our field service representative from the New Jersey School Board Association, uh is uh going to be presenting. Regular trainings are an important part of our certification process as well as a useful process as 10 00:02:32.879 --> 00:02:49.920 we fulfill our varied duties as board members. uh as we put our heads together this evening to synthesize our individual evaluations to a consensus document and prepare for our own board self-evaluation. Uh Gan is going to help contextualize the process and review roles and responsibilities of the board. 11 00:02:49.920 --> 00:03:05.360 This will also help prepare us as we look toward the outcome of this evaluative process, the development of next year's board and district goals. Before this, however, we will take up two sign time-sensitive resolutions. Thank you, board president Meyer. Just wanted to give a quick update on Maplewood Middle School. I am happy to announce students and staff will be returning to Maplewood Middle School 14 00:03:46.159 --> 00:04:03.599 tomorrow on Friday. Uh, I want to give a very big thank you to our director of facilities, Henry, who has spent 24/7 since Memorial Day weekend when we had a small portion of a ceiling uh fall on the 15 00:04:03.599 --> 00:04:21.280 second floor. Um, he immediately contacted the state, immediately contacted our contractors, uh, worked very closely with our municipality, with our fire department, with our police. Um, we had our state approved contractors in the building 16 00:04:21.280 --> 00:04:36.800 from around 2 pm yesterday to around 2 am last night uh doing the final repairs uh sending out the final uh also air quality test that all came back clean as of this afternoon. Uh we also have the 17 00:04:36.800 --> 00:04:54.800 final inspection approved uh from the state so our students and staff are ready to uh occupy the building come Friday. Um so we did a lot of uh leg work in regards to making sure this current company is qualified uh and certified after two weeks ago. Um, so we will put out a we probably well I don't want to say we will uh we just received bids in for our initial uh power bid for the fall.
