the hospitals at the same time as this bus accident the fire department apparat responded to Green Lane for tractor trailer that punctured his diesel tank was leaking fuel into the roadway Hazmat responded and assisted with the mitigation on November 1st and 2nd apparat responded to three vehicle fires one was near the building of aaha another was on Route 22 West and was fully involved upon Revival uh Ral sorry the vehicle's fuel tank was ruptured and created a running fuel fire hasmat responded to assist the third fire took place on the gar State Parkers I remind you we are responsible for Route 78 in Garden State Parkway anywhere in Union boundaries on November 4th apparatus responded to Mars samel on a possible arsonist stemming from a dispute our safety messages for this period is install smoke alarms on every floor of your home and connect them together if possible and replace smoke alarms every 10 years or when they start beeping because they don't always last 10 years test your smoke detectors monthly you have to do is press a button as long as it rings your smoke protect is fine create a fire escape plan make a plan and practice with your family the fire happens and you don't know where you're going it's very confusing in the smoke in the dark closing doors can reduce the spread of fire toxic smoke and temperatures Thanksgiving is a peak day for home cooking with fires more than three times the daily average for such incidents Christmas Day and Christmas Eve rank second and third with both nearly having twice the daily average stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stove tops you keep an eye on the food stay in the home when cooking your turkey and check it repeatedly keep children away from the stove make sure your kids and stay away from the hot food and Liquors the steam or Splash from vegetables or gravy coffee could cause serious Burns these are three great holidays please take a little extra caution we really don't want to see any fires in those days that's my I have one more thing actually I'm sorry we got a note from a a thankful citizen he having problems witer fire detectors and smoke smoke the alarms our firefighters went by tuxedo by the park that short the block is very very short because the block is very short when you get to going towards Valley Street I live in Arcadian Valley that's where a lot of problems are they getting out the cars they're arguing they're fighting on one another um I I know you can't have a police present there but can they please get rid of that stop sign I can't even when I start back driving my car you can't even get out my drive that's how bad is from number 10 number eight you can't get out and it gets very that next thing you know all the cars begin to pile up in the morning time I mean it really gets busy you want to see some some action come over there you will be amazed one more problem I have Mr um um Florio this is a problem I've been coming here complaining about this for years the Box all elks the daughters there they're markable they you know they do what they have to do but there one person in particular Albert Cook think that's a bar they're screaming they're yelling and that music get played to 3:00 in the morning sometimes 2 o00 in the morning the residents of the area we all fed up with it just like you have the problem over there at signatures at that okay okay thank you so much for you guys' time and congratulations to everybody on the panel thank you m Williams thank you anyone else wishing to speak evening Mr Mayor ladies and gentlemen of the council congratulations thank you re-elections uh Tom delesio I live at 1051 Nicholas Avenue and um to go off what you were saying about speed Mr Mayor over there we live um my wife and I moved in in April we moved here from Hudson County it's great it's much better than where we were um but the one thing that's done better there is speed control and I know our police department they can't do it all we're writing tickets and everything that's great but in certain areas like Nicholas Avenue which sits you know it provides the the through route everyone from Liberty to mors instead of waiting at that light where the cops are writing the the red light tickets all day I hear them you know they go right past the sign that says no through traffic on Carol Road and they take the left on my road Nicholas some of them go further down but Nicholas is the the quickest route to get up to uh Mars where there's no light so they come flying through there all morning and especially in the the evening and my wife and I we don't have children but there are children on that block there are people that ride bikes and run we have dogs we walk out there but um you know I'm always watching for it but it's bad out there and it's getting worse and most of these people that are doing it are not Union residents they go out they're probably coming right off 78 they make a right on Carol because they don't want to go to light and then when they hit Mars they're gone Springfield Milburn and I see New York plates out there and I get it people want to get home at the end of the day but you know and the GPS will take you there but the speed has to be stopped you know 40 50 miles an hour down a residential street like that it it's unacceptable and we can't wait until a child gets killed like in Jersey City where I came from there's speed tables everywhere now you can't drive down a street more than 10 miles an hour because you got to hit them and why did they do that because a child was killed and then enough people spoke up and they finally put that in but it's too late something's got to be done out there it's bad our Police Department is great but they can't be everywhere and they can't stay out there for three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening but if we could please take a look at that I don't know what the process is if I got to start a petition get some signatures get some video footage whatever we need you know to get the funding to have some speed tables put in on those roads because it's it's a Raceway out there and I just wanted to in good faith I had to come here and say something you know before something happens thank you appreciate thas I appreciate you coming up and we'll take a look at that unfortunately your situation is a situation on my Street on his street on her Street on his street and on her street it's throughout the whole town I know that's what I was going to say I can only speak to Nicholas I've only lived here since April but I'm sure Union being a crossroad 78 22 we get a lot of people and like was pointed out it's not Union residents that are doing this so you heard that before it's the union residents that are going to get killed though so we got to do something about that we continue and we will take a look at Nicholas thank thank you for bringing it to our attention thank you very much anyone else wishing to speak seeing n emotion to adjourn so move second all in favor have a good evening everyone
