##VIDEO ID:Brzq_L3Khus## all right that was probably one of the more interesting uh meetings that uh I've ever been to so very very uh interesting informative was the first PowerPoint I've ever been completely riveted by in my whole life that's why uh yeah it was uh I don't know if uh this will all mean anything anymore but we're going to move on with the uh uh report of uh governing body members and uh we'll start uh down with uh Vic go ahead good evening everybody thank you so much uh for for going through that with us uh the rabies clinic was held last Saturday we don't have the numbers yet but apparently it was a great success and the only post game comment I'll make from everything that we just saw is I think that what we all are kind of going through with this and I guess teacher terms would be a it was a fire drill of sorts uh for our residents to be smart about making sure that their private Wells are healthy and that they're being tested and for us as a committee listening honestly to the concerns of our residents uh and walking them through this and I think uh one thing that for sure we could work on is is our communication and sort of Shoring up how we do that um maybe having an email list sered to blast stuff out to people along with everything we do and I'll just make sure to say on the record right now we are utilizing Facebook and our website to disseminate information and to make sure that that our residents follow and for our non- Tey individuals some of the seniors in our area just you know word of mouth is everything in a small town so make sure you keep checking on your seniors and uh we we've got to figure out a good way to get them information are non- Tech folk and uh that's all I have thank you Mr Mayor just to pick you back off that I would ask that you caution yourselves to share correct information um a lot of the hysteria in the township over the last couple weeks came from a lot of misinformation and rumors um you know so before you go banging on your neighbor store accusing people of a cover up try to get the correct information and if you are not able to get it from the lead agency or the county then please come to us and we'll be happy to help you get connected with the right resources outside of that there's another thing um so we had our healthc care last week and it was a once again a great success I would like to thank Janet M bride in the clerk's office for putting that together um she brought in some great external teth I actually learned a few things which was kind of cool um so I just want to thank her for that I also would like to thank Larry Cole and K assist for another successful drive-in movie which we had last weekend um we will be looking to do that again in December with a holiday movie as we've done the last few years um I was hopeful to be able to do one for this past summer with Jaws on the beach but they didn't get the screen built in time so off hand that over and hope that that comes to fruition in the future um I also want to say a quick shout out to the Sheriff's Department for H just be taking part in that um activity as well and last but certainly not least the Ocean City upper country prer shared with me um that they will be doing their Community Thanksgiving dinner so this is for um the seniors in our community who live alone so that they don't have to spend Thanksgiving by themselves so that will be on Thursday November 28th which is Thanksgiving from 1: to 2:30 at Trinity United Methodist Church in marur um there's also takeout dinner available from noon to 1 and it is also first come first serve No Reservations that's all I have to thank you thank you thank you I have a couple things I want to report for Mark um that Saturday November 2nd is the our free community paper shred that's going to be at the Rick Rich accet Asset Management on Roosevelt Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. till 12: so if you have up to five boxes per person the limit and they wouldn't happily uh make competi with you there is uh also I want to talk to where engineer Gary we've had severe beach erosion as you guys know obviously now that we're done with this department of D maybe we can start another one uh we should put it on the radar uh it's not a good thing and I know we're not going to have anything in place beach replenishment by next year I mean it's takes a lot of time and we're not even in storm season and we're losing a lot of beach fast and Public Works has done a great job in keeping uh up on it and keeping entrance ways closed as they become unsafe and notifying the fire department everybody who might need access to it to the proper you know if he accessible or not that so emergency Iowa that to south of yes is exposed to the point the other day get up across the ti not sure the last week whats like that not way togen well you might have take a look at it and if we have to we just notify the proper like Bruce and yes but it's a is what it is it's just we have to keep it on our radar and keep focused on it um other than that I just think this whole process has been nerve-wracking I hope to people realize that everybody has done their job and I special shout out and thanks to our Court's office and uh our administrator here because they handled a lot of phone calls and on another note not to take jce on there but everybody please be very careful here it is very dry there's a campfire band means no Fires for the last 24 hours we've had a fire burning in the woods and seille that's should be under control well was under control it's contained it's contained and it's probably out they were burn it was burning underground the PE just want that done yeah uh to Echo Kurt's um sentiments it is dry High fire danger usually doesn't happen in the fall but I think it almost a month before any since any rain wow you guys you know got me all talked out here that's not good so uh give a bunch of shout outs to our our staff for this whole uh thing with with b um and the other contaminations and I hope that everybody realizes that uh through this meeting and through um through correspondents back and forth with us that all of us up here took the phone calls all of us uh um but that's part of our job understand it and the emails the accusations uh that we can only give out factual information and we are not a position to give out information about water pests that we don't know about and we're and we are not also in a position to give out factual unverified information as Gary said and I'm going to give a special shout out and I know you said something about it already KK but but both Gary and um Joanne uh were unbelievable in getting information out the best they possibly could and VI alluded to it it you you can't get them all you can't please them all we did what we could put put four messages out on Facebook and our website the last one we did the reverse 911 felt we finally got a statement from the D that you know we were confirming the negative results we didn't want to cause any hysteria but we also didn't want we wanted people to be relieved our message was good and it was clear if you felt uncomfortable get a test get a test and obviously that might not have been the best place at this point but obviously we didn't know uh administrator dearo was in the streets literally himself handing out um information uh on a Saturday knocking on doors taking that big risk that anybody of us up here knows when you're campaigning you go out you're knock on that door somebody want to talk to your off and they did and he was out there on the Saturday um hand out information over hours over eight hours um and uh Joanne was you know literally looking up addresses making sure everybody's notified making sure that everyone had the information that they had she put my timeline together in an immediate uh fashion um and and it was unbelievable and here here's how this wasn't reflected in the timeline uh on the on October 17th at night I received the phone call informing me about the contamination on the Beasley Beasley's place I hung the phone up I'm talking about it was probably 6:30 7:00 at night I hung the phone up and immediately called dear gu dearo by next morning and obviously unverified results okay we had no idea who it was or what it was if you remember the phone call and um turn around and here comes uh uh Gary the next morning is out there finds out who it was get a copy of the test results and Forge it on the D with less than 24 hours we had it out there and that's with the impetus of the uh the further testing on D through the through the uh uh on be's place on Point Pleasant and the like based on his uh uh getting the stuff out there and getting this movement as much as we can uh I'm also very very uh pleased I did have multiple conversations with the D including the D commissioner uh about the responsiveness and their honest and forthrightness so uh I do appreciate that they shared as much information as they could could but you can't sit out there and say we've taken samples and we don't have the results yet what are you supposed to do you can't act on results you don't have and there's also we were accused of hiding information we can't hide information we don't have so that that um that that's going on and once again appreciate everybody coming out I know a lot of you aren't here but that worked out very very well um uh for for the for the D and for our residents to hear directly from them um that's all I have uh for now because that's basically all I've been working on for the past month and a half as you can see um I just want to let the the public know that how torn the board was the the emails that I got well the conversations that I have with all of you on how you want to express yourself more deeply more more U with in depth more High more theories to to tell the people that we what we just didn't have the information and it would have been a disservice and I know it was difficult for all five of you to stay reserve and it was difficult to tell somebody we just can't answer and so now you hear why the D was limited with us the Troopers are here they know at that level at the Attorney General's office it's a serious business now those S down AG investigators U but it was serious business and if you they Haven open up criminal investigation and anybody can kind of Monday Morning Quarterback and uh uh now start to put these elements together you can kind of see why it was a little reserved and why every all the agencies asked us to be reserved so um you know it was it did well this is just a test this is only the test but it did well it did very well um Troopers had it uh one the recreation elements was chat with Troopers so of course Jones and I went we got coffee and and so but it was very well received we got a couple of couple of the elderly residents kind of wed in to uh to meet them and they had some old Troopers some new Troopers some young Troopers so uh was very very pleasant we appreciate that it was it was a good Community um Community program uh going through the through the I just would I need a motion one of your EMTs needs a leave of absence or contining leave absence right R for medical school or for any medical leave which leave so that was Joseph maon so I would like here but this is a 5year contract already first year anyway it's basically a foure contract so that's number um 10 number 10 number 10 and um number five your honor that's firefighter R yes the radio 247 late nights early mornings Saturday Sunday he was with the residents non-stop giving them guidance help and it was truly great I just printed out all the maybe you should look at this found this from 1900 no I am now a fan of Gary marzo you heard it first M Mr Bonzo I Echo what everyone said and I congratulate you mayor and the committee the entire committee along with Gary and Joanne for the way you handled this crisis it's easy to Panic it's easy to point fingers it's easy to jump the gun but your patience and your your tolerance and your Relentless pursuit of this with the D was phenomenal so thank you for that on a personal note um on a national level I just would ask that we all keep this nation in our prayers every four years it seems like this is the most important election of our lifetime I truly believe it this time around so um we all need prayer so I I can care early voting is open and we have aely located Pole right at T Library yes there was almost 5,000 over the weekend in three poing places so I I I just to Echo a little bit about what Tony said it was unbelievable I mean I and once again you guys sh Shar restraint and how many times was on the phone with C call we just got no just same way all we wanted to do just but it worked out in the end and it was right thing to do so right way to go Barb you have any questions I do oh yes I have a have a presentation from act Engineers next meeting November 12th project and really thetimeline constructed and then the last thing is for our annual community reading system recertification able on second option is to take the dividend um and put it into our loss contingency fund um it's C with a bank account for us um the third option is um actually Four options um another one is to take a credit on our bill next year and four one is kind of a combination you could take part of the money and then um what is your recommendation my recommendation is um because we have such a high um
