##VIDEO ID:J8tGUI1Ps-I## aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all and approval of the minutes motion to approve second anyone second any discussion all in favor date of next meeting January 13th I may not be here but but you may no I probably won't but it's not it's not exra we're trying to do a ski weekend that's John's birthday birthday weekend skiing but we'll see okay everybody might tell me no it may be a big snowstorm you great you might not make people there you go in the past although this is my second term I should know have we ever had like snow dates in in a month if we miss a Monday do we do it the next Tuesday the next week or just the next month I have no idea but if the library is closed because it's snow we don't eat yeah we don't eat yeah and I guess you could call meeting after if you want yeah if there's something pressing otherwise we just go carry it over well I hope it really does snow then seen one in the three years I've been here I've not seen know I don't think I've seen we got a very small amount of snow last year Well The Woolly Bear is are black and that means snow means a very harsh winter that's what the Farmers Almanac said too this is going to be a snowy winter there isn't even a little bit of orange on it Sean watches for a [Laughter] God any correspondence no okay director Services [Applause] report has everyone had a chance skim it motion to accept motion any discussion um I was going to go over what um happened at the friends of the library at their last meeting um they we received a check they've already given it to me and it's been deposited for $1,633 20,000 of that is the what they give us every year for our book budget and then the other $2,633 were um some of the items that I think we had talked about at our last meeting so most of them have already been purchased um the new soap and paper towel dispensers and the restrooms are already in there and have been um they're already installed in there we got the four new folding tables um I working on ordering the chairs I'm trying to get rid of the other chairs before I order the new ones there is a um the 50 chairs that came from the historical society that um where you know belong to the library I put out to other libraries and they're I believe it's bar masks I don't know that b a r r e I don't know if that's how you pronounce it I'm they interested in taking them he the director contacted me and he's just trying to find somebody with a or a band to come pick them up so hopefully we'll have those out of the closet soon um we got the new magazine displays that they paid for very nice yeah I think that looks great I really like it um we're getting two new children's magazines um highlights has a like a toddler one it's kind of like a board book and um Ranger Rick Cub so they're for the little ones and I'm looking into a crayon kiosk which is it's like a big it's shaped like a big crayon basically and it holds iPads and they're in a thing so nobody can you know take them out of it and then it would have like educational apps and things on it um I'm having trouble getting a hold of the company though so that is still a work in progress but most of that money has already been spent um what's the balance left for the outside building if we do get it um they did not make a decision on that they wanted to see some more uh estimates okay um that is possibly something we could do with the $60,000 we got from uh the what was this name Richard s Anderson the one price I did get I went to uh get a couple prices from just local Builders to build one cuz it's not it's not much to it I think we get a lot more our money if we got a contractor to do it instead of buying one already like that yeah yeah they were not against the idea but they just wanted some more it was the big debate was metal versus wood Yeahs finy fighting like we have on this building here yeah we vyl shingles I think that's what was on the estimate that I had shown the one that you had given me um wood is no it's it upkeep yeah we don't want to deal with that so um so yeah if they don't want to proceed forward with the with the shed it could be I still think we should that's something we should definitely do and we could use some of the money that we just received for that we're very fortunate to be in that position yes absolutely that was a very very pleasant surprise I have to say um I think that's basically it everything else is just um kids PRS and things like that that was all I wanted to talk about got a vote on that second well we already did the we did the motion so all in favor I okay just have one comment I guess it can come under either one but the Ada walkway we got that $2,000 to run the water l inside I did talk to Jim hardnet he said you really should see if you want to tie into that old well cuz the school does that they tie into the old outside irrigation M so I'm going to go back to that and see what the difference is okay but I have another place on the door main entryway door the first one was 32,000 the next one is like 18,000 so I don't know if we have to go back to them and tell them we use a different person or I don't think so okay okay so there be there could be some money in that to play around other things okay okay um so we got a whole bunch of stuff in from our um finally yes they slow started to trickle them so we've been cataloging we got our September orders and finally very exced wow um and then Coy Craft club um we're going to stop it for the holidays because no one can come a lot of stuff going on um for this um month so January we're going to start doing again but we're going to change it to Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 so yeah new people hopefully they can make it for that time who usually comes to that what age group what um it's adults ad no kids yeah it's open to everybody what time is it 3:30 to 4:30 on Wednesdays oh we didn't get a motion on that motion to accept second you're the chair discussion motion to accept second motion you beat me to it you can't make I can't make it second we're good I think that's a good time too the school's going to be going out of the way yeah yeah there'll be room for everybody we can take the newcy couches and use those M all in favor all favor hi hi do you run that oh yes I do it's fun but right now no one's coming because of holiday it is so much fun but having it at night was not working it wasn't working it was really dark and people that wanted to go weren't going to drive that late yeah and also it was hard on us because the staff would stay and we'd stay for like what 12s 12 hours falling asleep at 7:30 so hopefully this will work out yeah hopefully we get more people cuz it is really fun you know the issue with deer on the roads is is really a deterrent to people going out yeah it is they were every I saw them this morning crossed in front of me you what I saw a dear this morning I cross the front of my car oh yeah we usually have one in our backyard they jump over and come over to here usually when my wife takes the dogs out in the morning CU they go crazy friends report they had their annual meeting on November 14th sui granco is continuing as president um they filled up basically the same people moved into the same slots as far as I could recall they went over their finances sisters and crime program especially they were talking about it was not as well intended as they hoped but the people who were there really enjoyed it you never know when to schedule these programs night afternoon weekend weekday and Bonnie made her presentation and they said yes yes yes yes yes yes and there was discussion about the shed and their next meeting is in January which I will go to to represent the trustees because we really appreciate their work and that's pretty much it do we have to make a motion on that do it's an update not a right technical report so okay building and safety update the carpetting um I need some help with that application because I can get almost under one page then they ask me questions I can't answer and I can't go on to the next page is it possible you can get a copy of it are you doing that here at the library cuz Gina had said needed to be done at the library like on our I'm going right through it okay you are yeah but they asked me some questions Bonnie helped me out on a couple of them then Town accountant helped me out on another one then I go to the right page two and I have to get answers from somebody else if if you could have a copy of what one looks like i' know where to get the answers before I go all she said was it sunline yeah it's tough I'm almost through Page One wow and I can't answer another question so I have and I did email the town accountant but she never got back to me so it's kind of like now when is the date for this this would be for the second Court okay well then let me if we could get it completed when I could get all my information together let me go talk to Gina and see if she could be helpful now if it's on your computer can you take your laptop into the bank I guess so and maybe sit with her I'm still going to need information that she won't know right can you find out what the information is I can't get past page one oh you can't go to page two until you complete page one that's what he wants like a print out so he can a complet I know that they need to know I'll talk I'll go in and talk to Gina CU I got the budget information the number of employees and some other stuff Bonnie gave me the accountant gave me two other things what is this for the grant for the carpeting for B big Co got jump for Hoops huh yeah I just you know I could come over here and sit but we still need additional now you said the second quarter so this would be if we get it between January and March is for the second quarter okay if we would have got it for December it would have been for this quarter she did mention if the amount of money was large that um and I don't know if you can find out but they did an ADA walkway for someone councel and aging or something and she said that they gave them half up front and then half after that um but she said it depends on what the cuz I asked her if there's a cap cuz ABC would work with us that like that give in depositing when the job is done give them the rest and she said to mention that because then they would be more more willing to give an a larger amount but I don't know if they give 10 15 I don't know they don't you can't read much about what they do Don is it a B coast application you're working on it's a form they have on their on their website for Community grants I don't know how many pages are cuz I can't get past B one yeah I'll talk to Gina cuz if I could get on my list of questions I could go to like the account and get them all answered right go my way it would be interesting to share all the information with us when it's completed but if there's anything any of us could help you with along the way I will know until I get when you get the form you and while we're talking about the Ada Grant has been improved for 80 $83,400 first for the next quarter I said sure what was the total $83,000 $83,400 [Laughter] the um the man Foundation Grant the new one from Anderson and we've had a few smaller donations in there but that's and there's no restrictions on the Anderson right no good no nothing that I was told so yeah um so yeah we're very lucky there was no um information as to who Mr Anderson is or where he whatever so um I think I brought this up last time like just to thank the family but we don't know who the family is would we be possible to send a note to the attorney's office that was the letterhead that we could and that way they can forward it to the family um I know sanco wrote such a nice note to John there was a little I mean we don't really know Su Branco but she wrote Such a such a nice note it just it it's it's very you can make that habit to do that too yeah it was very nice there was um you know the person the trustee for oh we did get the deposit already actually for that that I got um I got confirmation from Nicole this morning that we have gotten the deposit and it went into our gift account um and there was a a name of a trustee but it was like a signature so it's hard to read but I can try to at least find out that well it was on the paper the name of the trustee was at the P okay at the end okay I'll look at that again yeah yeah we could try through the lawyer's office but it would be it was one of the lawyers who was the trust who was oversaw the distribution he said he said some about once the taxes are settled if there might be a balance of 25,000 or something I I was at the VFW they have coffee hour on Fridays not this week but I think the week before I was talking to somebody there there's a guy there that writes grants and he does them for the Dartmouth Library he's done it for the Westport Council on aing I said really so and that's he just does that that's what he does he's retired he justes GRS two members of the Friends board actually do that yeah for their jobs so they have offered if we ever need help with that they would be happy to help usan huh is he a veteran yeah and retired whatever yeah he said he's got three he's working on right now so he's kind of full up but interesting those Coffee hours have OT Frid but he didn't stay long I saw him come in I was talking to somebody else I turned around he was gone he said I saw down but I didn't get to talk to him okay I got his name and stuff so it's just nice to know that there was help and plus the friends would probably be even better mhm and we just have to find out where the grants are that's right they are um they they actually did a subcommittee for Grants um we have talked about it we're talking about getting I think I mentioned this earlier um stem kits that could be checked out and they were going through and looking for Grants but um they had a lot of information on grants so anything that we we had any questions about that I'm sure they'd be happy to help a few years ago we purchased the books that list all the grants that are available yes that are in my office still and they are huge but there there are sources and we purchased the Source book and but there wasn't anyone writing grants at the time in fact we sent you to school yes I have to I can't do it well you only got part one because nobody signed up for the second half that's they canel yes the second half of it but so I do have an idea but we do have people who yeah it's it's hard to do when you have a full-time job yeah yes but this is their full-time job so they said they would be very happy to help us with that well at the time just you're having an awareness was a good thing yeah I kind of at least know how it works okay schedule for upcoming projects any schedule any projects um well it would have I guess have to be um after January for the door the door is not locking right at the moment we're having a lot of problems with it so if we have a choice of what we can do first I think the doors are definitely the most important that's he's already finalized the details on we can place through next week I just don't know what the lead time is on we just ordered new doors for the credit union and they were 7 weeks okay so all right I think that definitely pretty much custom yeah that would be I think the most where are they coming from I don't know so people don't want to give that information out cuz they yes this was actually another thing we looked at um is that a quote yes that is a quote I forgot about that um Don had asked um someone to come in and look about having a book Return put into our front counter there so we don't have you we get like a bottleneck there when people are dropping off books so he would take a piece out of you know the counter and he would build a like a drawer that we could pull out um let me see it look like supposed to be $1,700 yeah it would be a total of $1,700 and he could um fit Us in at the end of February so is that M burning yeah well you know M bur yeah everybody I just know my is that his wife to yeah yeah the carpenter yeah you know okay yeah he did our garage he does good work he's retired from a union up in Boston got tired of driving back and forth so came back and started his own business all right so I would like to move ahead with that I don't know if we need to vote on that or not but no okay I think we already voted it I think we did too we did I think we did back when George was here we were going to put something front Okay old business other topics motion to adjourn anyone second who made the motion so I hope I hope soon it's not too late wait we still have to vote all in favor of a journey
