Okay. K. I already gabbled, but just for the sake of procedure, I gabbled again. Okay. It is three, Test. Okay. Okay. So do you you turn your my record is okay. Okay. This is for the record and transparency. The board has been in executive session since 02:08PM to discuss individual matters as following. Thirty seven minutes for GMCA Charter School contract compliance concerns. Nine minutes for guidance regarding individual liability of board members.

2
00:05:52.260 --> 00:06:37.225
Seventeen minutes for guidance on scope and parameters of executive session discussions. Nine minutes for guidance on board authority and adoption protocols for policies and resolutions, and twenty four minutes for district athletic policies, gender identity accommodations, and compliance with state and federal athletic rules. Will you please join me with the pledge? I pledge allegiance to the flag of The United States Of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God,

3
00:06:37.605 --> 00:07:32.785
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Certainly would like to thank everybody for being here, particularly, the Mishler family. So thank you. Okay. Can I please get a motion to approve consented items as presented? I'll make a motion to approve the consent agenda. I'll second. We have a first and we have a second to approve our consent agenda. Missus Watts. Missus Kutcher. Aye. Mister Dolphin. Aye. Miss Hubbard. Aye. Missus West. Aye. Mister Ybarra. Aye. I'd like to invite up mister Scala. Alright.

4
00:07:33.005 --> 00:08:13.440
In item five a, it is recommended the Board of Education approve the appointment of Mr. Ross Micheler as assistant director of secondary student learning. Can I get a motion? I'll make that motion. I'll second that. We have a first and we have a second. Ross Michler, assistant director of secondary learning. He grew up in Michigan and graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor's degree in secondary group social studies and a minor of earth space science. He earned his master's in educational leadership from UCCS. Ross was recruited at a job fair in 2008 by miss Lisa Humberd and brought

5
00:08:13.440 --> 00:08:46.670
to Whitefield School District. He taught seventh and eighth grade science at Watson Junior High and coached eighth grade football at Watson and track at Mesa Ridge High School. In 2016, Ross became the assistant principal and athletic director at Watson. In 2022, Ross was selected to become the principal at Watson Junior High School. Ross has two children, five year old Sadie and seven year old Connor, in a very adventure seeking and accident prone lab named Lloyd. I'm happy to recommend Ross Michler as assistant director of secondary student learning at Whitefield

00:08:46.670 --> 00:09:29.265
School District three. As he comes up, we're gonna vote. Okay. Roll call, Mrs. Watts. Mrs. Kutcher. Aye. Mr. Dolphin. Aye. Miss Hubbard. Aye. Mrs. West. Aye. Mr. Ybarra. Aye. Alright. First, I'd really like to thank the board for this incredible opportunity. It really is. Thank you to the hiring committee, miss Howell, mister Scala, miss Kraft, for their time and leadership. Special thanks to mister Lee, for hiring me as an AP all those years ago and dealing me with me for fifteen years. That's that's a long time, so thank you, Justin, for doing that.

7
00:09:30.070 --> 00:10:06.340
Watts and staff, I'm gonna keep this brief because it's hard when you're in a building seventeen years. You know, your whole working career, I've I've been incredibly blessed to be there. Just the support they've shown me really in every aspect has just been incredible. My family over there, my children. I I want the board to know, my son thought it could be a dance arena that you're judging, so I think mister Scala is up on that. I'm in. So maybe that's a new trend for the board. But, you know, just a huge thank. Education can be very challenging, and, without their support,

8
00:10:06.340 --> 00:10:45.640
that that just wouldn't be possible. I'd like to just end with a short t ball story. Has anyone on the board coached t ball ever? It is a, unique experience, if you've ever watched it. I've had the opportunity to, work with my children at WPR coaching t ball and coach Pitch this year. And, you know, there's a mix of crazy excitement and pure chaos in t ball. You know, the start of the season, they they don't know if they need a glove, a helmet, what team they're on. Do I need a bat to go out in the field? Like, none of that. Right? And, you know, I really think,

9
00:10:46.645 --> 00:11:19.955
it's it's near impossible as a single coach to to do that. And, really, all along the way, the community of Widefield steps up. You know? And I think that's something that I've just seen over and over again, in our community. They're buying gloves for our kids. They're they're providing bases for practice. They're giving high fives. And and it really shows that same collective commitment to our community that really has been moving our schools forward, and, that's just incredible to see. It really takes a community and that collective commitment. That's really what makes Widefield so special.

10
00:11:20.975 --> 00:12:11.735
The work really is a direct extension of our schools, and I'm I'm super excited to to partner with the leaders that I've worked with for so many years. And really, together, I really think we can provide that really foundational, wonderful academic environment for our kids, and, really excited to do that. So thank you for for the opportunity. Thank you. If you'd like to little do a little dance, I'll come up with you. No? Okay. Doctor Houchins. Good afternoon. In item five b, it is recommended that the board act on the family and consumer sciences course proposal

11
00:12:11.735 --> 00:12:49.800
as presented if there are no questions. I'll make a motion to, to go ahead with that. I'd love to be the second. We have a first and we have a second. And this would be the time for discussion. And I don't have any discussion, but I do wanna say that, when we, as a board, ask questions, very often, we already know the answer, but we have to ask them because we've had to be really transparent. And so just moving forward, the people that are presenting, like, if we need to be able to answer them answer ask them questions.

12
00:12:50.180 --> 00:13:32.855
So that's just kinda what I wanted to get out there. Got it. So okay. So, anyway, first, we have a second for this amazing, program with an amazing teacher. So, Mrs. Watts. Mrs. Kutcher. Aye. Mr. Dolphin. Aye. Ms. Hubbard. Aye. Mrs. West. Aye. Mr. Ybarra. Aye. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. We don't have any we do not have any public comment. And even if we do, we don't. Mhmm. Board of Education has scheduled the following meetings. A luncheon meeting, 08/18/2026 at 12:00.

13
00:13:34.675 --> 00:14:09.168
Board of Education meeting, 08/20/2026 at 06:00. All meetings are held here, 1820 Main Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado. May I get a motion to adjourn? I'll make a motion to adjourn. I'll second that. We have a first. We have a second to adjourn. Missus Watts. Missus Kutcher. Aye. Mister Dolphin. Aye. Miss Hubbard. Aye. Missus West. Aye. Mister Ybarra. Mhmm. Aye. Thank you, everybody. I love seeing you all. I don't wanna leave.
